Tonight my oldest son and I found ourselves at Beef O'Brady's after an evening of truck shopping. It was getting late, we were both hungry, and a good burger sounded a whole lot better than cooking. Before we even ordered, my son looked across the restaurant and said, "Don't we know that guy?" Sure enough, I turned around and there was an old friend I hadn't seen in years. Funny how life works sometimes--you go out looking for supper and end up catching up with someone you haven't seen in forever. I ordered the O'Brady Burger with fries, and my son went with the wings and fries. The food came out after a short wait, hot off the grill and looking every bit as good as it tasted. That first bite of the burger sealed the deal. It was juicy, flavorful, and honestly one of the better burgers I've had in quite a while. The fries were hot, crispy, and exactly what fries ought to be. Between the great food, friendly service, and unexpectedly reconnecting with an old friend, it turned into one of those meals that reminds you why local restaurants are worth supporting. I don't make it over to Hoover as often as I'd like, but Beef O'Brady's is definitely staying on my list when I'm in the area. And with a Tuscaloosa location reportedly on the way, I'm looking forward to making it a regular stop a whole lot closer to home. I came to BOB on St Patrick's Day to partake in my traditional meal. Corned Beef , cabbage and potatoes. It was pretty lively outside with the live music and inflatables, games etc. I sat inside because I wanted to eat in peace. I also wanted to see if the SEC championship. The hostesses were all smiles and let me pick out my seat. Loved this! My server quickly took my drink order. The sweet tea is amazing!! I dined in tonight at Beef O Brady's in Hoover, Al. Today was Wing Wednesday. The wings were .99 each for traditional or boneless wings. They had to be ordered in increments of 6, 10, 15, or 25. The menu had so much to choose from but my favorite is the wings. I was surprised it was not crowded with the special. The restaurant was not crowded and the service was great. I was excited to see that UAB was playing on the TV. Well so was LSU but Go Blazers. I ordered 10 lemon pepper wings and added a side of fries. The wings were a great size and they were seasoned to perfection. The waitress was amazing as she was polite and super attentive. Arrived at 12:08 and was immediately sat, not the most ideal table in the location but hey we were sat quickly and there wasn't anything really available at that time for a party of 3. The 3 of us started talking at realized around 15 minutes we had yet to have been acknowledged must less a drink order taken. Finally the waitress came by to get the drink order, 2 cokes and a sweet tea. We decided that we were also ready to order food. During the ordering process we noticed that the waitress was writing it down instead of using the handhelds that everyone else was using. As she was leaving she said I'll get this in shortly I have another table waiting awhile....i thought wow how could there be 2 tables waiting awhile. About 10 minutes passed and she came back to say that unfortunately the drink machine went down, but they were working on it. No water was brought or sweet tea that was ordered by a member of the party. Still sitting there we noticed the couple to the left had received their salad and entrees WITHOUT anything to drink (not even water). I enjoyed my trip to Beef O' Brady's today. I went with my family after a shopping trip, and Beef O' Brady's did not disappoint. I got the Wednesday Wing special, getting 6 Sweet Barbecue wings and 6 Teriyaki wings. They were very crispy and filled me right up. I also got some fries and Mac and Cheese for my sides, and they were delicious as well. Food here is 10/10. The service here was a bit slow however. It was very loud coming into the building during the lunch rush, but it died down soon after. My waiter mixed up my drink the first time, but she quickly fixed it. The food also took a little too long for my liking, around a 15-20 minute wait. It was worth it though for this amazing lunch with my family. Daily dinner specials, very reasonable prices, fast service, and a 'what you would expect from a sports-bar' ambiance. We ordered 2 margaritas (SERIOUSLY $5.50 each and they were better than many house margaritas at Mexican restaurants). We were there on a Thursday and ordered the Thursday Fajita special (1 steak and 1 shrimp). Both came with all the toppings and tortillas on a sizzling plate. It's been a while since I have visited this Beef O' Brady's. We were looking for a place to play darts in Hoover and this place fit the bill. I'm definitely glad I went back. We arrived around 9:30 pm on a Friday night. There was plenty of parking and the place had some people dining in, but it wasn't packed. We wanted a snack while we played darts, so we decided to share the cheesy bacon pub chips which were the perfect size for the three of us. They were delicious especially since they were topped with cheddar jack cheese and smoked bacon, and were a deal at $6.99. They also had a nice selection of craft beers. I ordered the Cahaba Blonde. Also, the service was good. The only difference since the last time I visited, is that they have moved the dartboards off to the side on the left. I have visited this Beef O' Brady's several times for to go orders, but last night, we decided to dine in for the first time. For a Thursday evening around 8:00 PM, it was super packed in there. We were sat pretty quickly and our waitress was good. She kind of got lost a few times, but it was very busy so we know she had several tables to manage. There's a kid's menu for ages 12 and under. My kids orders the wings with fries, which they loved. There was a mix up with the wings. My oldest wanted mild wings and my youngest wanted medium wings. The lady who delivered the food to our table said she had given my oldest the mild wings, but he actually got the medium wings. It wasn't a huge deal. I ordered the fish tacos and they were good! My brother-in-law got fajitas and he said he really liked them. My husband got spicy garlic wings. He requested for them to be fried hard and they were so that was a plus! This is a go to for darts, beer and grub. I have been here numerous times to drink beer and play darts. I also have enjoyed their food. Their beer selection is not extensive but they have a few standouts from the local breweries such as Cahaba and Avondale. On the menu you have a great selection of pub grub. The appetizers are excellent and are a meal in themselves if you aren't sharing. I cant say I have a favorite, because I like most of them. The ones I eat most often are the steak nachos, and the pub chips(crisps). The hamburgers are also really good, especially the lunch special. I have not had anything of the main entree menu but it all sounds good and one day I will go in for a sit down meal and try the 14 oz ribeye steak. I'm already drooling. Also the dart boards are top notch. But you need to make sure that the place isn't too crowded or they will use the dart area for additional seating. Go ahead give it a try. Let me start by stating it was St Patrick's Day so that may explain some of the issues. We put our names on the list and were told that it would be about a 35 minute wait. We asked about getting a drink before going to the patio to listem to music. I went up to the corner of the bar behind another patron. The bartender told me to hold on and then ignored me. A waitress came up (looked like they were related) came twenty minutes later and listened to the bartender complain. Still nothing. Finally the waitress asked me if I was waiting to order and told me that you had to go to the other end of the bar to order. They couldn't have mentioned it earlier? We ended up ordering 3 Irish Kisses drink from a waitress outside and with a 25% tip, paid over $50. BTW - don't get this drink. I think we received the drinks after about 30 minutes and then we were seated about 30 - 60 minutes after that. Waitress was nice. We ordered 2 Ruebens and a hamburger. The hamburger was good, the Rueben not so much. We do recommend their cheese dip. I don't know if I'll go back. I understand that some consideration should be because of the holiday. We went last Saturday during the Alabama game. I decided to get the soup but alas they were out of soup. The server said " the soup man did not come". That is weird that they can't make their own soup but ok then. The server was super friendly so I moved on. At that point I decided to stick with the basic chicken tenders basket and those chicken tenders were fried hot and good. A friend and I went here during happy hour time during the week to wind down after a long day of work only to find out that they do not have a happy hour. We were informed by our waitress and the manager that their drinks are cheap enough already that they don't have specials for happy hour. Okay, cool no problem. Best wings I've had in a long tolime. The jerk chicken sauce was flavorful and just spicy enough. The fish is very good. Nice and crispy, not greasy at all. Let me start by saying that I thought the service was really good and the items that they do most were excellent. On the other hand, I had to think about this for a while, but when it comes down to it - if you put something on your menu, do it right. My advice is this: unless the word "steak" is in the name of the restaurant, or they're known for steaks, do NOT order a steak. (Replace "steak" with menu item of your choice.). Stick with what they do the most. If your steak comes out with a pre-marked crisscross pattern from the grill you made a mistake. That being said there were so many really nice things about this restaurant. I started with french fries as an appetizer and they were probably the best french fries I've had that I can remember - hot, crisp, right-sized for me (slightly larger than McD's). On my entrée I went with the surf and turf, and, well, the steak was...cooked. It came out with one option- grayish brown and cooked through. and the shrimp was, well, shrimp I don't know if it was fresh or flash frozen and reheated or whatever but it was there and had the consistency of shrimp. Oddly enough again the best thing on my entrée plate was the potatoes - the baked potato- I saved it for last. Have been to beef o bradys many times and have always been pleased but tonight ruined it for us. My daughter has celiac and ordered a salad with no croutons. They brought it out with croutons. When she asked for it to be corrected we watched as they took the croutons off the salad and served the original salad. This may not seem like a big deal but to a celiac this could cause major complications. Serious concerns for anyone with allergies of any type if they are this careless!!!! This type of "correction" is entirely irresponsible and insensitive. I still cannot fathom how anyone that has been properly trained would be this insensitive. I cannot tell you how upset I am by this and disturbed. It would not have been expensive to simply redo the salad completely. We always enjoy this location of Beef O Brady's! They are always friendly, the food is delicious and great table service. Last night a group of us from our son's baseball team came in after our game. The staff was prompt and accommodating with putting tables together for our group. Our main waitress Asia was incredible. She was so friendly, fast and accurate with our orders.
