I've been coming to Pub for years and it's a great place. There's a pretty impressive selection of craft beers on tap. The food is good, we really like the wings and the fried mushrooms! I've never had any issues here, either from the staff or from other customers. It's a relaxed place with musical acts several nights a week, but karaoke tuesdays are my fave! Joe the karaoke DJ is SO great, and he can make basically anyone feel like a star. They also frequently have good acoustic music or full bands if you're in the mood to rock out. Like everyone else that has reviewed so far, I'm definitely not a fan of all the smoke, but they do have outdoor seating if you need some air. Go check them out!! read more

I was in the area scouting out real estate and decided to stop in for lunch. There is smoking allowed inside here, so anyone sensitive to smoke should steer clear. While the pub is very clean and not hazy, there we're a lot if people smoking heavily while I was here. They offer meat and three for lunch, and appear to have full bar service. Staff are friendly and lunch service was quick. I had the chicken fried steak with white gravy, mac and cheese, broccoli casserole, and Mexican corn bread. I think thw food is good for the price. read more

Stopped in here for a quick bite to eat and was extremely disappointed. Our server Sherry was rude to us and others and the manager who was sitting right there allowed this. It is clear that if you're not a local then you're not welcome. The place reeks of smoke and the most shocking was that NO ONE was wearing a mask not even the servers. Isn't still a state mandate?? While at this bar for bingo, me and my friends had just paid our tabs and getting ready to leave when the manager told my friend she was no longer welcomed at the bar because she has a restraining order on an abusive guy who is considered their "regular" (he wasn't even there and wasn't there the past few times we had gone). The manager was an asshole and caused a huge scene in the PUBLIC parking lot while we were figuring out car arrangements. When we asked her why she was banning our friend, she told us that she would call the cops on us and ban us too. This establishment condones domestic abuse and made it very clear to my friend who wasn't doing anything wrong. read more

Smokestack. If you're not a smoker, don't come. Even if you absolutely love the band. And if you do come, be prepared for the after affects of the smoke - including cigarette, cigar & vape. For the smokers, it's one of the last places in the city for you to openly smoke inside. For the rest of us, it's time for this place to move on. No wonder a Saturday night is slow. read more

For what this place is, a dive bar with surprisingly very good wings, plenty of tv's, and lots of draft beer - you can't beat it. It's a true dive and I love that about it. Tip your bartenders well too. They do a great job here. It beats the hell out of BWW, or any other place like that. read more

Our visit started with the server asking for a credit card to hold, odd. Then we were amazed that they allow smoking throughout the entire establishment which is in violation of state statute. I was invited here by friends to see a band Todd Simpson). You walk in and the first thing you think is sports bar. Several tv's and a protection tv above the stage. Great for football season. If you like pool their are plenty of tables.They have a large stage for bands. Also they have karaoke a couple nights a week. Its nice that the place is large so you don't feel cramped. Bar and server service was great. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food. Again its a sports bar so typical bar food. Only negative is they allow smoking. Cool bar and crowd and it's located on the Pelham . Hoover line. Not much to choose from in that area. read more

While visiting family me and my brother decided to go to Pub 261. We witnessed the manager kick out this girl that had put a retaining order on one of the regulars. We over heard the whole convo. The manager was really crapping to this girl that also seemed to be a regular. She was told they chose the guy as a customer because he spent more money. I said my peace to that manager and left. I love to go here to play pool and listen to the good and bad of karaoke. Great pool tables and sticks. Music box in the pool room so you can jam while you're on your game. Aaaaand they have my favorite beer on draft!! Sweet water 420 ftw! Went here after playing the claw machine at Dave and Busters.. Great spot for casual drinks with friends where no one cares about what you're wearing. It's also literally my neighborhood bar -- closest bar to me by far. I call the strip mall it's in "the corner." My girlfriend and I occasionally come here simply to get drunk. The house margaritas always do the trick. Neither one of us is a big drinker, so it's rare that we even want to go to a bar -- but when we do, it's Pub 261, and we have never left unhappy! They have live music several nights a week, which is when it begins to get crowded and loud... a bit too much so for us aging burnouts... we are usually plenty buzzed by that time that we NEED to go home anyway! The service here is always good, definitely better than most bars, and our tab has never made me go "WTF?!?" (And I'm pretty dang cheap). Honestly I can't say I've eaten much of anything here, but I'm pretty sure they do have typical bar food. If not, there's a spot in the same little strip of shops called Shelby's that has really good sandwiches, pizza... just all kinds of noms. However, their bar is overpriced (as good as the food is, I can't say it's not worth the prices, but it's not dirt cheap... $20 easily covers 2 people tho) and the service is slow. Order your food ToGo and walk it back to 261 to eat! I'm also partial to Pub 261 bc of its location. I only have to drive a half mile before slipping into my subdivision. Were it absolutely necessary i could even walk. This VERY important in Pelham! Truly couldn't be a better neighborhood bar. Laid back, good drinks at good prices, good people, no frills -- yes, I've even been there in pj pants. One of our favorite things about 261 is that it's extremely rare that we get bothered by sleazy drunks attempting to hit on us (hey, I'm quite cute even in my pj pants!). It's by no means a pick-up spot; everyone tends to mind their own and get their drink on... exactly what I want in a bar! They have the typical bar games as well: a few pool tables, darts, a couple arcade games... the usual recreational fare... If you live in Riverchase, Wooddale/Indian Hills, or anywhere off 261 (aka Valleydale Road) between 31 and Helena and you haven't been to Pub 261, it's time to come out of your cave! read more

After dinner decided to go to local pub because our favorite band was playing and they are great to dance to! Parking can be a challenge when a big band plays but we got there early so not a problem :) outside the door (only on weekends) there are a couple guys to take cover charge, check ID and fill out membership cards. They are quick and efficient. When you walk in, pool tables are in a room to the right- still open to see the bands and bar. To the left are high and low tables and a large bar. It's pretty big inside but on band nights, seating is a premium and many have to stand around tables. To the far left is a stage and a too small dance floor for the crowd. I do wish they had a option to increase the area one day It isn't non-smoking so at times it is a little smokey. Lighting is dim but not dark- good balance. Bathroom are always clean. Staff is good, they run constantly but seem to do good keeping drinks coming and are always pleasant. They serve popcorn if you want as well. But have a number of bar foods on the menu. I think my favorite is the mozzarella sticks. :) You can reserve tables by contacting them ahead of time if you have a group coming which is nice. Dancing was fantastic, danced until my legs ached. Lol. Deputy 5 band that plays there on occasion was really good as usual - very consistent in the music/dance song choices. I do enjoy Pub! read more

Was hoping to find a fun local sports bar but Pub 261 is not it. I couldn't stay more than a couple of minutes due to the horrible nasty smoke smell. It's like you're sitting in a big stinky ashtray. Gross. No thanks. read more

Patty melt was over cooked. I ordered it medium. It had some weird sauce that made the bread soggy. Onion rings were tasty, but greasy. Bartender/waitress was completely clueless. I paid $15 for one beer and a couple onion rings. She didn't notice or care. I was planning to bring our car club there in near future. That definitely won't happen now. read more

In town visiting my best friend from high school. Decided to stop in for a beer while waiting for her to get off work. I think I was the only female in the bar (it was around 4 on a Friday). Had a draft beer and left. They allow smoking in the establishment which I thought was strange because they serve food, and not many places allow smoking indoors anymore. Nothing to write home about but I'd go back in a pinch. Would probably be a lot of fun on game days. read more

I used to smoke and I actually loved it. Loved smoking but since I don't anymore the smell of ashtrays is revolting. Pub261 is a giant ashtray. You will smell like a cigarette when you leave. It's nasty. Food is bad bar food, even after a few. Servers can be really bad as well. Attitude isn't something that benefits your tips. Drinks? They have them. Live music. Crappy country every time I've been. Not a good place to hang out unless you like becoming a Marlboro. read more

Better hope you're a "regular" here if you want to have any say in what sporting events they put on the tvs. We were told that some of their regulars were coming later so they couldnt change the tv. I had no idea that the regulars are the only paying customers that matter. read more

Pub isn't just a bar, it is a community bar, where you come and friends are here just waiting to tell you about their day. It is Mike and Dorothy caring about you and making sure you are having a good day. The staff Sherry, Michelle, Mighty Mouse, Ashley, Kelsey, Gerry, Alex, Rob, and new people....all give you great service, awesome food, a safe atmosphere and there everyone knows your name and everyone is welcome to come and join the fun. This bar has been there on some of my happiest days and my friends were all around me on my saddest. Been here a couple times and have had a nice time. Pretty good beer choices. Everytime I have been I have to refill out a members card because I don't ever keep them because I don't go out to often to bars. Had a Cuban sandwich the first time there and it was delicious. So I decided to order again the other night and it was nothing like the first. Seems like they threw together some meat on loaf bread and toasted. Wasn't pleased with the menu this time around at all. Luckily they have some pretty good bands there when I have decided to go so I am pretty pleased with that. read more

This place has potential and would be great if they joined the no smoking bandwagon, and didn't make you fill out a card at the door because they refuse to do smoke free. Great beer choice and atmosphere.. They know what they're lacking and it's clientele that doesn't want to smell like an ash tray when they leave. Smoke free bars are the poo, so take a big whiff. read more
