My son's food must have been delicious because he finished it in record time. His significant other did not have quite the same experience. She ordered her burger without lettuce, tomato, or mayonnaise, but it arrived with all three. Her fries, which she had been looking forward to, were also very hard. She ended up taking her burger apart to remove the toppings and left nearly all of the fries untouched after trying one. In McKenna's defense, it was a bit loud on the patio, so it is certainly possible she did not hear the request to leave the lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise off the burger. Toward the end of our meal, my remaining salad had been boxed to go and it was clear we were finished. After waiting about 15 minutes, we eventually had to ask for our check. When McKenna brought it, she explained that she had accidentally mixed up our check with the table behind us, who had already left. She was apologetic and explained that their ticket, which she handed to us, was lower than ours and hoped we did not mind. We certainly did not mind paying less, but I did feel bad knowing the other table had apparently paid about $10 more than they should have. As we were leaving, I also noticed quite a few napkins, dishes, and other items scattered around the patio. More frequent attention to clearing and tidying the outdoor area would make an already nice patio space even more enjoyable. Overall, it was an okay first experience, and I would definitely give Walk On's another try because there were several things on the menu that caught my attention. McKenna was kind and pleasant, and I do not want the mistakes during our visit to overshadow that. However, between the incorrect food order, the delay with the check, and the ticket mix up, I do think some additional training and attention to detail would be beneficial. And that Ahi Tuna salad? I'd order it again in a heartbeat!
