We stopped by Overtime Grill on a Friday night around 7 PM. It was pretty crowded because a band was performing later, and there was not much seating inside. It looked like only two waitresses were working, so it took a while for our order to be taken. We also did not realize we had to order at the bar. The food came out very quickly once we ordered. Surprisingly and happily quick. We had the burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. The fries that came with the burger were actually really good. Very well-seasoned. The food overall was decent. The restaurant has a casual, no-frills vibe. It feels more like a neighborhood bar than a full restaurant. There are TVs playing sports. If you are looking for something relaxed and familiar, this place gives off that laid-back, down the street feel. A spot to grab something decent, enjoy some music, and head back home. read more

I occasionally visit Overtime Bar and Grill and the owner was very friendly upon my visit on yesterday. I came with a friend and the first thing I did was approach the owner and selected a random party and paid their tab. We then ordered Taco Nachos. I then stayed and ate and purchased (2) pitchers with my friend. The server we had (Sierra) gave me a ticket that up charged me for (4) pitchers...2we definitely didn't have and (3) Busch Lite Draft which we didn't drink. I even tipped her and additional $15.00 for her service. My ticket was $139.00 at the end of the night....and mind you, I blessed other patrons FIRST and paid $89 for their tab. I hope that was completely error but I feel and suspect that is a habit that goes unnoticed amongst patrons. MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT MENTION IT, however, I felt I should. This is a great establishment and I'm not saying you shouldn't give them a visit, I just would like for the owner to take note of such issues that occur to loving patrons who love not only your establishment, but the people who are present. read more

Good place for a quick bite to eat and a beer. Food selection is decent and is hit or miss as to quality. But the beer is always cold and good. First time here. We watched AL vs Texas & the Wilder fight. A REAL sports bar, lots of TVs and good game food and different choices & varieties. He got the shrimp basket with fries I got the cheeseburger quesadilla. Everything was good a decently priced. I had a papa smurf that was tasty but little alcohol. A Kentucky mule that was better had a picture of beer Bathrooms were ok, not smelly and nasty but definitely can be checked on periodically. Omg. The jalapeño poppers were frozen in the middle, the cheese sticks were cold, and the burger tasted like plastic. The waitress was friendly and tried to give us another appetizer but brought my chips and queso...and the chips were so stale my teeth hurt. I could barely break the chips. The waitress was friendly and did everything she could to make our experience better, however restaurants are made to feed people and this food was not something I will want to return to. Last time I was in there a coworker and myself were the only two there for a while and even then our drinks were empty and the waitress could be seen behind the bar on her phone. Overtime Bar is where I have been going for trivia for the past few months. Located across from the entrance to Red Mountain Park off Lakeshore, this is a conveniently placed sports bar for enjoying a post hike bite or taking in the game. The food here is great, your standard sports bar fare with wings and burgers being the most popular. I usually get the too hot wings with bleu cheese and have enjoyed them every time. The service here leaves much more to be desired. My group is consistently waiting around for our checks to be delivered to our table, even when there's only 3 or 4 other tables to serve. The last trivia night, it took about 30 minutes for our checks to be delivered after the game finished; we were the last group waiting to pay for our food so we could leave. I hope they are not this slow on other occasions! If they improve their speed and efficiency, then they are much easier to recommend. read more

The food is.....ok.... I ordered (to-go) a Chef salad and chicken quesadilla. I've eaten many chef salads and this one was nothing like I expected. When reading the menu the description of the salad sounds promising, but the appearance was super disappointing. The lack of taste in the salad and salad dressing. The turkey nor ham had any taste. The lettuce seemed old and wilted. The chicken quesadilla wasn't good either it lacked flavor and the salsa served with it was sweet. Have been here a few times, after 3 visits I can say the food is pretty darn good. Have been here for work lunch, the staff are very attentive. I have had the shrimp POboy and the wild turkey wrap. Both were good and very filling. As far as the shrimp, could stand a little more but still good. This location is a bit down on lakeshore, so might be a little out of the way for lunch. But I would recommend giving this little hole in the wall a shot, I have a feeling you will be glad you did. read more

A group of friends and I went there for trivia night. It was fun, we ended up placing 3rd, and we won a $10 gift card to the restaurant. The fried pickles were great, my chicken fingers were really good, but the fries were underwhelming. Clearly, when you go to a grill and bar during the Tournament AND Trivia Night, the quality of the food at said establishment may not be a priority. Not too bad, but not really good. Just your basic sports bar. They've got some tv's, a pool table, some outdoor seating and plenty of space. The menu isn't anything to really write home about. Just burgers and sandwiches and chicken finger sort of stuff. I ordered a ham and swiss sub and added turkey and a side of chili cheese tots. It wasn't bad or anything, but not really that good either. Just thin sliced deli meat thrown on a grill and served on a hoagie bun with the cheese melted on top. I dont think I would order it again. The tots were crispy and hot, covered with queso dip and chili. The chili had onions and green chilis in it and was kind of chunky. Not as flavorful as I would have liked, but again not really bad, just not something I would order again. They do have a full bar, a good number of beer taps and a lot of space and they've kind of got the market cornered on that end of Lakeshore. If you need a place to bring some friends and have a drink and a bite to eat while watching a game, then it won't suck to go here, but its not worth the drive just for the food. read more

I'm happy to have found a good, LOCAL sports bar and grill. The food is very good. Came on a Friday afternoon around 5 and it was surprisingly not busy at all. The service was good-although several times it did take a little while for our server to come around though. Food was extremely good for pub fare- I ordered the Buffalo Chicken salad and we had the fried pickles as appetizers. The chicken was seasoned very well. My wife even had the grilled tenders with a salad and they tasted great plain. The beer selection is very good and my favorite thing would be the HAPPY HOUR specials. We came here to watch the Alabama game. The great thing about this place is that we are not bothered by servers every 30 seconds. Also, there are lots of televisions and you can hear the commentary.
