I came here on a Saturday night for an early dinner with some friends. Since it was Mother's Day weekend, I figured it was going to be busy but when we got there at 4 PM, we were able to get a table right away. I was originally seated at a high top, but then realized that one of my friends had back issues so I had to move to a different table. Our servers name was Alexander. He was a very nice gentleman and was also very attentive to our table. I started off with a Margarita on the rocks. This is their signature. Margarita and I usually get it when I come here. It is delicious. I highly recommend it. I was undecided on what I wanted to get to eat, but our server recommended the garlic Parmesan chicken. I got that with a side of loaded baked potatoes and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. The only issue was that the chicken was a little on the dry side, possibly overcooked, but still delicious I visited the restroom several times because I was drinking a lot of water and the bathroom facilities were quite clean. The lighting was perfect for an evening dinner. It is definitely a sports bar vibe. Definitely a great place to come watch some college football. Since this is pretty close to my home, I probably will come here more often. read more

First time doing brunch here. Very clean and and everyone was friendly. Wasn't very busy, but took over 20 minutes to get our drinks. The boozy coffee was good, and the mimosa tasted like straight prosecco. It was supposed to be cranberry, but didn't taste any cranberry. Breakfast was served quickly, we had chicken and waffles and the French toast. The chicken was dry but the french toast did taste good. Overall, I would go back, but only for lunch or dinner, not their brunch. I have the app and nobody could figure out how to add my points to my account, so lost out on that. read more

Came in for a men's fellowship and I must say I was very impressed with everything. If you need a space during the week, they have a really nice room that sits at least 30 people for a private event. Our server took care of all of us and the food came out hot and fresh. My buries very good and full of flavor. We will definitely be back and make sure you stop by. read more

We went for an earlish dinner since I knew this location has been open only a few weeks, though it was already filling up. We were fortunate enough to get a close parking space, and we were seated immediately in a quiet corner. The Happy Hour drink specials aren't clearly listed, but our server was great. Though the happy hour appetizers sounded tempting, we went straight for dinner. We got the Bourbon Street Burger and the Bacon Cheddar Burger. Mine was the Bourbon Cheddar Burger. I don't order burgers out much anymore, but this was pretty good; I also opted to get the Sweet Potato fries. Perhaps not the most generous portion around, but they were good. We did ask for a to-go cup (for the nonalcoholic drink), and they were happy to oblige, but they haven't gotten in their signature plastic cups yet. Service was good; specific prep changes were made, and any hiccups were quickly corrected quickly and apologetically. It was easy to pay at the table. Big Whiskey's is one of the few restaurants open late on a Tuesday night. I finished my shopping and realized I was starving. The outside and parking lot are well maintained and very clean. They have a large outdoor seating area but I went inside. I was seated after a very short wait and my server, Jimmy J., was over very quickly. It was happy hour and he offered $6 apps but I passed as it was just me. He was very friendly. I ordered the Cajun Coastal Combo which was Cajun seasoned grilled chicken and shrimp topped with lemon butter sauce, tomatoes, green onions, and shredded red cabbage. My sides were loaded potato salad and colada slaw. The Cajun Coastal Combowas delicious. There was a perfect char on it and it was just the right amount of spicy. The colada slaw should come with a spiciness warning. There's no description and I assumed it would be a sweet pineapple coconut slaw. The sweetness was there and it was great but it set my mouth on fire. Do NOT order this thinking it will cool you down. The loaded potato salad was creamy and delicious, too. I ended things with the Big Brownie Skillet. It was just okay. I was expecting a gooey brownie and it was on the dry side but still good. Overall 9/10. I'll definitely be back. The food here was great. My husband devoured his Philly cheese sandwich. Took half of mine home! The GM was amazing came over and did and excellent job of up selling! I really wanted to like this location. But it didn't go so well. We were allowed to sit at the bar due to the long wait for a table. Despite there being open seating it took quite some time to be acknowledged. The food took so long to come out that we had to ask the bartender to check in it. Overall the taste of the food is great...BUT 3 items we ordered were not acceptable. We ordered two soups Togo (each are about $6.50) and received two very small half-filled containers of soup. Very disappointed about this considering the price compared to the size. My grouper tacos also had maybe two nugget sized pieces of fish. I've gotten them dine in and it's usually a nice sized pieces, but I guess Togo customers are not valued the same as dine in customers. We came here excited to try it out since we like the hoover location. We waited for an hour for the worst ahi tuna I've ever had and the driest burger I've ever seen. The burger was so burnt we thought the cheese was a fried egg. They were out of mashed potatoes, buns and basically everything else. Beyond disappointing and we will not be back. The manager even came and asked how we were and basically laughed that we had been waiting and said the ahi tuna looked disgusting (not wrong). read more

This Big Whiskey location just recently opened up and I will say that the staff there is very attentive and nice. Even servers that weren't "assigned" to you, made sure that you were taken care of. The wait wasn't very long for a Wednesday night and the server came immediately over. The food was very tasty as we had steak and a chicken sandwich at our table. Steak was cooked and seasoned perfect and the buffalo chicken sandwich had just the right kick to it. The ambience doesn't give off a whiskey establishment (minus the barrels right at the entrance) but is nice and clean. The bar is cool with all the whiskeys backlit. I would highly recommend any whiskey drinker to go as they will have what you are looking for. read more

Ambiance was good, service was great, the food was terrible, the worst meal I've had in a restaurant in quite a while. I ordered 1/2 rack baby back ribs with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The ribs were disgusting, full of fat, undercooked, and tasted like they had only been boiled in water then doused with BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes were ok but lukewarm at best. We talked to the bar manager on soft opening he said He would give us the tops off the Blantons . No problem. They are collectible and he says they just throw them away the horror!!! Fast forward to today 10/24/25 at 11:45 my husband got a double shot of Blantons . There wasnt enough in the bottle so she had to open a new one. He asked if he could have the stopper. She said sure but I threw it in the trash she then says do you want it? He says yes and she gives him a look and in no way wants to give it to him. Look We fork over close to $300+ most times We visit. Ask Caleigh We give her $100 dollar tips. She practically stole us from another waitress. Because We tip good and We spend a shit ton. But When you have bartender who is rude and will not be accommodating that left a sour taste in my husband's mouth. I took him for our anniversary and straight up it lessened the vibe. This afternoon I had lunch with my son at the Alabaster location. There was only one server on the floor and she was very busy. She had four two top tables and a nine top table. When I tell you that young lady had the BEST attitude. She was bubbly and very upbeat. She did not let the fact that she was super busy change her mood. She was extremely friendly. She kept coming back checking on us making sure we were ok. Communicating with us about our food and when it would be ready. The food was excellent as well. But for me she was what made the difference. So thank you Izzy for going above and beyond today! Do yourself a favor and ask for her ....you won't regret it! One of the worst restaurants I've been to in Alabama. The server JORDAN was inattentive, careless, and spent several minutes cuddling and touching her boyfriend at the table over from us while refusing to check on us or refill our waters. We waited 45 minutesfor our food. She brought out most of the orders made incorrectly and argued with me that I had switched plates on our table instead of acknowledging that the orders were served incorrectly. My nephew's order had to be remade twice. My daughter's burger was too blackened and burnt to be edible. Jordan eventually stopped speaking to me and stopped refilling our waters and another server, Nonna, took over our table (and Nonna is very good). Jordan also decided to make ugly faces at me and my party as the evening progressed, after she decided to no longer service our table. She never once apologized or acknowledged her mistakes. I spoke with the manager several times throughout the evening as the poor experience unfolded but he seemed annoyed and helped very little. I personally had such a horrible evening I feel that the entire meal should have been comped, but I only got 20% off. The food was in various stages of cold, soggy, or overdone; under or over seasoned; and presentation wasn't even a talking point. Par for the course for restaurants in Alabaster which is probably why most people give it rave reviews, but I will never return to this restaurant or any other Big Whiskey's. read more

Just visited this location tonight (Wednesday) for dinner. It had plenty of open seating but it was an hour before we received our food. A few tables were seated after us and we all waited. It was almost like the cooking staff was not there and then all at once food started coming out. It seemed as if there was not enough wait staff or that their areas were too spread out also. Our appetizer came out timely but the rest did not. Our server was either too busy or just distracted because he never did refills. I accidentally spilt a drink and we had to hunt down someone to help clean it up. My husband order a "fishbowl" drink and then ordered a second of a different type but our waiter brought back a repeat. We noticed on the bill that it was turned in as something different so who knows who got that one since his was the same. The food was well presented when it arrived and our table mostly enjoyed it. The chicken bacon ranch pasta was very good. I had the Alaskan Ale fish and chips. The second piece of fish had a strange taste and the coleslaw I ordered was spicy to the point of numbing the roof of my mouth with one bite. Didn't know it would be that way or would not have ordered. The fries were very tasty. We had thought about dessert but after the wait we decided to leave and get DQ on the way home. Overall, we were hoping that since it had been open for a while now that they would have the kinks worked out but they still need some help. read more
