This was my first time coming here so I came out for the Alabama and sat at the bar. It wasn't to crowded so service was spot on for me, LOL. I ordered the Birmingham hot honey chicken and a loaded bake potato which was really good. I went to The Fennec on a Friday night to watch college basketball games and have some drinks. We were seated quickly, and in front of multiple large screens. There's literally not a bad seat if you're there to watch games. The sound on was a nice touch as well. After a bucket of beer (which was a special for the night) we felt like a snack and ordered the nachos. It left a little to be desired, but it did the trick. However, I was mainly here for the drinks and games and I've got to say it was a lot of fun. The staff was checking in frequently to see if needed anything else, and helpful when we had some questions. Came here to say to watch a baseball game and was very impressed with the set up. Not just TVs everywhere, but massive TVs on the wall. They also have plenty of seating and pool tables. I sat at the bar and the service was great as the bartenders were chatty and quick with the drinks/food. I got the nachos which were a little subpar in my opinion especially for the price. Everything was pretty expensive on the menu but honestly every place is like that now so not sure it's that crazy. I will say that everyone else around me got food that looked really good so I will be back but will have to order something else. I went to the Fennec to watch some of the games for March madness. They have one huge screen in the middle and plenty of other large TVs throughout the bar so there's always a great view. For drinks we ordered a beer bucket which comes with 5 domestic beers of your choice. They also have a pretty extensive cocktail menu. For food, I ordered the Blazer Burger which was pretty good although the patties could've been juicier and it was a bit expensive for what you get. It came with fries which were flavorful and the perfect crispiness. Our waitress provided excellent service, checking in often to see if there was anything we needed. My fiancée and I came to The Fennec for Valentine's Day; since I let her pick the location this year. She picked a good place for V-Day! :) We got seated quickly and was able to listen to the live band that was playing that night. I only recognized one song from the group and that was "Tell Lorri I Love Her" by Keith Whitley. We started our V-Day dinner by getting chips and quaso/guacamole. I came in because I heard this was the spot for live music, but I picked the wrong night. Apparently, there was a show (music theater) playing at the arena down the street and everybody was there. This place was empty except for one other table. There was a guitar player when I walked in, but he finished one song and left. The food was good, but the empty place on a dreary day was a little sad, especially by myself. And the room was cold. The brunch menu offers some apps, a number of entrees and a few salad options. And of course, cocktails. We both had Wiley wings ( honey hot). They were decent and filling. Not spicy enough for me. I added a waffle on the side. My friend added a side of the potato hash. This dish name doesn't match what you actually get. It basically was some overcooked, extra crispy pieces of potatoes. The setup has changed some since my last visit here. They have added a new front bar, which is cute. They are utilizing the space that has more natural light. I actually love that! 2:30pm on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. Walked in and it looked nice, nothing super fancy but nice. I sat down and maybe the wobbly table should have been my first red flag. The chairs sucked to add to it. I find the bathroom, whoever thought it was such a good idea to put a faucet that high was special because you have to turn the water low enough or push the faucet to the side to prevent from it splashing all over you. My in-laws got there a few mins before us and got everyone waters which that was good. The waitress, it took her forever to come back by to ask for drinks or starters. Granted we were waiting for a few other people but my husband wanted a soda and we were going to go ahead and get an appetizer. I decide to stick with my water because I just felt like I would get a drink if I asked for something different. Which I was right. My husband had to wave the waitress down for his soda. She accidentally brought him diet. She never brought back his drink. I had to get up and ask the hostess about our his drink and that we were wanting to order an appetizer. The hostess apologized and said they were really busy. I know I had to fix my face because I looked around, saw our table, and two other tables, about 6 people at the bar that the bartender handled, and looked back at the hostess like, "wtf?" The rest of our group shows up. Waitress comes back. Still no drink for my husband and gets our appetizer orders along with the remaining drink orders. When the appetizers comes out, it was a guy who brought it to us and we asked him about the soda and he apologizes and gets it for us...finally. Nothing special about the appetizer just chips and dip. We finish it and once again...the waiting game. The rest of our group still had yet to get their drinks. She comes back after another long wait, drink less, and gets our orders. My father in-law mentions the drinks, she apologies, and gets them. The wait it took for our food to come was ridiculous. I hate to imagine how long we would have had to wait if it was actually busy. Maybe it might have been worth my wild if the food was phenomenal but the moment it was sat in front...I knew it was not gonna be good. I got the Alfredo with shrimp. It looked like some soup. The sauce to noodle ratio was not good. The sauce was so runny that I had to lean it and eat the noodle like Naruto eating ramen. 5 measly pieces of shrimp. The sauce was also very gritty. How something that is so runny also be gritty, I don't know but I've had lean cuisine frozen alfredo dinners better than this $29 plate. 3 of us ordered Alfredo, only one got a piece of bread but I'm not asking for bread because I don't want to wait 30 mins to get it. My son looked at me and legit said, "we should have just gone to Olive Garden" knowing good and well I don't care for Olive Garden but also knowing it would have been better than whatever this plate in front of me was called. When walking to my car, I looked at everyone and said, "I'm sorry but this place sucked. I've been curious about it and now that I've experienced it...there is nothing here that would bring me back." So I suggest spend your money elsewhere because there is nothing that makes this place standout enough to have the audacity to have nonexistent service and charge $29 for soupy Alfredo read more

Was recommended I should check out this place called The Fennec so well I did. I have never heard of or seen this place until I was told about it and now I'm like why didn't I know about it sooner?! The atmosphere itself was awesome with a nice bar, live music, nice looking stage and dance floor and yes a disco ball! Great place to hang out and eat good food. The staff was top notch our waiter was so great. We had to wait almost an hour for our food only because the kitchen was backed up with a huge parties order. We didn't complain once we totally understood. But this waiter was on his A game! Even though we waited nearly an hour for food we were not disappointed the food came out hot and fresh everyone at their table loved the food they got but you know me I order neutral unless I'm recommended something in particular. The burger I got was legit cooked perfectly I ordered it medium well and that's what I got a hot juicy burger. However there was literally no seasoning on it salt and pepper would have took this thing sky high. Wasn't a huge fan of the kaiser roll but that's just me being picky at that point I personally just wouldn't use that but it was toasted perfectly so no complaints. I will say I ordered bacon on the burger and only recieved one strip of bacon on it and I found that to be very odd. HOWEVER the burger gets a solid 7.9 out of 10 from me. Having some salt and pepper would have had it in very high 8's The fries were fries crispy salty good to go no complaints. The wings I personally think $15 for 6 wings is a bit much but they do give you 6 jumbo sized wings with fries and ranch. I ordered the hot honey wings. These wings were so hot when they came out and had a nice spicy and sweetness I just loved. But once again they clearly weren't seasoned. Some seasoning salt would have set these bad boys off! Wings get an 8 out of 10 from me. Had they been seasoned definitely a 10. We also got the Churros for dessert these things were so good it came with 4 churros covered in cinnamon sugar, chocolate drizzle, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream, oh and on the inside of the churro it was filled with caramel. All that and it still wasn't overly sweet. Definitely 10 out of 10! I highly recommend you go check this place out its well worth it. The portions a appropriate and you are getting what you pay for including live entertainment. I'm coming back to this place and I'm bringing more people with me. We got in from our drive from Tulsa, OK and needed to get our first meal since breakfast. It was me, my husband, and 17 year old son. This place was super close to our hotel and decided to check it out and wow, what a fun surprise! They have a huge two sided bar with a stage and a guy was signing and playing guitar and harmonic. There is another stage at the back of the place with a separate cocktail lounge. Great vibe and feel to the place. You can tell that place has to get hopping at night. Tables are removed by 9:30pm. We started with pretzel sticks. They were good. I ordered the Cat Ballou, it was very good. A little sweeter than I typically like but it was good. I had their grits and greens with fried green tomatoes and it was tasty. The guys got burgers and fries and enjoyed them. Husband got their tomato bisque soup too. It was good and a different flavor profile...a little salty too but still good. Service was friendly and very good. We got to hear one song of the Jake playing for the night. My church had a women's conference here a couple months ago. It was a Kentucky Derby theme, which I loved. This venue is so nice with the exposed brick. This was our first time coming here. The decor is really nice and they had a nice band playing music. We were seated promptly and our server greeted us and also welcomed us. We started off with the avocado toast. This was different from other occasions I've had this. I added bacon to it to give it a little more flavor. The avocado was fresh, the pickled onions have it a little kick but for $12, this wasn't worth it. It was one piece of bread cut in half. The entrees were chicken and waffles and the whole nine yards. The chicken and waffles was supposed to have a sweet and sriracha sauce but they left it off. The whole nine yards was more like two yards!!! The sausage was over cooked and crispy, the eggs was hard and the biscuit was cold and dry. The grits and were good. The potato hash was no hash. It was just potatoes. The menu online is different from the menu they have in the restaurant. There were only ten people in the place and we were confused on why the kitchen didn't get anything right. Our server did a good job of fixing theirs mistakes. Attended an event there tonight and that's what this review is for, though I will definitely go back in the future to try out the restaurant! Their event venue is upstairs with a bar on one end and a stage on the other. Plenty of wide open spaces in between for you to utilize as you please. For the event I attended tonight that was casino themed, there were plenty of room to set up around 20 play tables with room left over for food stations, standing tables, and mingling areas. I noticed all the employees were very efficient and friendly! The moment we approached the venue, someone was there to greet us. The bar was well staffed. The food stations were properly tended and refilled as needed. The food served was okay....but probably really above average considering they were made in large quantities for a lot of people. When we were leaving, someone was there to direct us out. Great experience all around! I would definitely recommend The Fennec for any events. We did sneak a peek into the restaurant side as we were leaving. It looked very happening with people dancing to live music! Can't wait to check it out. read more

I really enjoyed my trips to the Fennec. It will surely become a regular spot for me to visit. The first time I visited here, I came to meet a friend after work for some drinks and dinner. Let me just say that the whole ambiance was nothing short of amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. When we got there, it was live music. I found parking in the front. But at dinner time, there is also a valet (not at lunch though). Our server Stacey was simply amazing. She made good recommendations and was helpful to us. We both had our eye on the same appetizer, which was the Caravan. So that is what we picked to share. It was so good and such a generous portion to share. It came with wings, fried okra, chips, avocado salsa, and chili cheese fries. The salsa was easily my absolute favorite! It was so yummy! We also had a big pretzel and my friend had the red and green tomato salad. We arrived during Happy Hour and it was such a good deal. Their happy hour offerings on food and drink was superb. The live music was an added bonus, as the guy was very entertaining. It is also pretty packed too because there's an additional stage area and there is a lounge. Plus, there was extra seating up higher if you wanted to have a better view of the entire restaurant. I also came here again for lunch with some friends and had the classic cobb salad with chicken. It was so good! Plus, I had a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I will definitely make this place a regular rotation spot. Finally got to visit this venue! We came for trivia night and had a great time. I was highly impressed by the quality of the food. I ordered the braised short rib, and my husband ordered the ribeye. Both were excellent! ( I didn't get pics of those because we were caught up in trivia) And of course I couldn't forget dessert. It was amazing. I was glad hubby didn't want to share because I don't think I would have! I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. Made plans with my friends to go to the mayor's watch party, little did I know it was at the Fennec! It's a cool place it has multiple levels a larger space for part and performances. Below you can have dinner there were bars on every floor and a smaller bar room next to the dining area. The staff they were all very friendly and helpful. The Fennec thinks too much of itself. I was looking forward to this meal, and was disappointed. We made a reservation to be seated away from the music and they seated us right near it. Even when they moved us, the music was still too loud for 5:15 pm in a pretty empty restaurant. My friend and I started w/ the wedge salad. No wedge so they subbed Romaine. It was okay, not worth the $15! I am sure it was the lardons that bumped it up. However, having them in the past, these were not the larger pieces one might expect. They were simple slightly larger bacon bits. Disappointing. I got the scallops. Upon the server's suggestion, I got fingerling potatoes instead of mashed and spring vegetables. The vegetables were excellent and fresh. The server apologized and said that the potatoes were a new recipe and kind off burned/ blackened and offered to bring me mashed potatoes. I said yes to the mashed which were golden and creamy. My scallops were fishy and I sent them back. I have never tasted fishy scallops in a lifetime of growing up on the coast. I got salmon, which was blah and had some pin bones. Most amazingly, someone who I think was "Management Bro" came by to ask about our meal. When told about the scallops his response was not, "I will make that right for you." Rather it was, "Scallops can go bad so quickly. Glad you didn't get sick." He asked what else I got then added, "Still sticking with the fish, huh?" We finished our meal and left. Btw, they do not give complementary bread with the meal which is usually how one susses out how good the meal is going to be. You have to pay $9 for that privilege. I think we know why. read more

My husband booked this place today for our weekly brunch. After asking the staff we realized that this was a new offering from them. Overall, the experience and the food were both great! Thomas, who was a newer server, was both personable and prompt. They had live music and bottles of champagne for mimosas. We ordered the avocado toast for an appetizer; it was yummy, my only wish is for a larger portion. For my entree I ordered the Croque Madam, it was a breakfast twist on a prosciutto sandwich. Anyway she might have fellow- [BOOM BOOM SHADABABOOM CRASSH "CHECK CHECK"] ship opportunitities at [CRASH....DRUM ROLL...KICK BASS...RIM SHOT] ....ohhh, never mind." Now. Imagine this going on for a solid 45 minutes while the guitars twiddled with his amps and the drummer kept working his kick bass. Again, the food was good, especially for the price point. The service was great. The decibel meter on my phone was at 95. When the band got on stage, we shot up a flare for the nice server to go ahead and bring us our check. That way we could skedaddle and have ice cream in relative peace. So, Ferus, figure out whether people are there to eat or to see the band, and seat them accordingly. Otherwise, not bad. read more

There was a lady providing live entertainment just above the bar area and table service if you choose not to sit at the bar area. Our waitress was very friendly and provided great service. Appetizers are half off during happy hour. Even with this the appetizers did seem a bit pricey, so if you're on a budget you may want to reconsider. I ordered the chicken wings and they were just "okay". The menu described them as having a buffalo flavor, but that was not what I tasted. It had more of a barbecue dry rub seasoning. They were cooked perfectly with great presentation, so I gave them more flavor by dipping them in ranch dressing. Other than that I give this restaurant four stars. read more
