From the start, communication has been incredibly poor--emails are ignored or go unanswered for far too long, which is unacceptable when you're trying to plan something as time-sensitive as a wedding. The hours seem limited despite their posted hours, making it unnecessarily difficult to get in touch or schedule anything if you have a normal job. I want to start by acknowledging that this venue is spectacular. The Carriage House and garden areas are beautiful in every way. We chose a buffet with chicken piccata, beef tenderloin, mashed potato bar, salad, and bread. Everyone complemented how wonderful the food was all evening. The food was wonderful. When we booked the venue approximately a year ago, our contact person was amazing. She left shortly after for another job. We had a second person after her who also left after a couple of months. In our last few months, Kaleb was the one who worked with me to plan the details of my daughter's wedding. He was amazing. He made sure that we got everything ordered and on our contract that we wanted. He always replied when I reached out and he was so helpful all along the way. He was truly a gem in every way leading up to the wedding. The reason for a lower rating is the stress, confusion, and lack of work that happened on our rehearsal day and the day of the wedding. The venue does state that you are not guaranteed to practice in the exact location of your event. However, we were told the last couple of months and up until the day before our rehearsal that we would indeed be able to use the garden area for our practice. We had also been told about two weeks out that there was nothing else scheduled at this venue on our rehearsal day and that it would be opened just for us. Upon arriving the afternoon of the rehearsal, there were many cars there other than ours. I went into the building to find a large group preparing for an event that we did not know about. They were confused at why I was there, and I was confused as to why they were there. I talked with the woman who was planning the other event (this was not a worker for Park Crest). I let her know that our practice had been planned for a long time and did not realize they would be there. She also was not told that we would be there. It was at this time I reached out to the venue and stated that we needed to be able to practice. All of our people were there, out of their cars standing around (including elderly grandparents) and ready to practice. I reached out to the venue and was told that we may have to just all get in our cars and move to another building to practice. I understand that this was in the contract, but we had been told up until a few hours before that we would indeed be able to practice at our location. You should never wait until the moment of an event to ask someone to relocate to another location. This was very unprofessional. The other group having the venue was a group who had strict religious dress practices and it was disrespectful for us to have even entered the building. This should have also been disclosed as well. However, the lady with the other group was very nice to me and she and I worked a compromise together for us to have a very rushed practice in the garden area. Again, she did not work for Park Crest, so she and I worked this out together on our own. During all of this confusion, all of our family and friends who were waiting to practice, had to stand around not knowing what to do. After our practice concluded, I reached out to the venue again to ensure that our reception area and the garden area would be set up first thing in the morning for my arrival at 9:00 to begin setting up for our mid afternoon wedding. I was reassured that the "crew" would be there at 7:00 am and all tables and chairs would be in place and ready upon my arrival. Upon my arrival at 8:45 am, there was not a "crew" anywhere in the building working. I entered our reception area first to start my decorating. The tables and chairs had not been set up according to the schematic that I had submitted two weeks prior. We did not have time to wait around for workers to show up as we were on a strict timeline. I had three friends with me, and we frantically began moving tables and chairs to where they should be placed. I reached out to the venue to ask why my set up was not complete. I was told that he was there and would come help. So not a crew, but one man shows up in the room. I had to ask him to bring two additional tables and several table cloths that also were not in place. He basically became my gofer because we had already put everything in place. He just had to bring me missing items such as another table and table cloths. It took us an additional 40 minutes of our personal time to prepare the tables and chairs before we could even begin to decorate. Next, we moved to the garden area to begin decorating as this is where the ceremony was to be held. The chairs in the garden area were still in the configuration from the last event that was there. Our gift table and sign in book table had not been set up. We had to frantically set up the chairs on our own. We found two tables for the entrance and had to drag them ourselves to set them up. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE Before I left a review, I wrote a five page letter to the management and owner in attempt to rectify the situation. I am not one to immediately jump to putting out a bad review. They were very dismissive and tried to somehow blame me for almost every complaint and gaslight me saying things didn't happen that way. However, my complaint email contained 3rd party accounts from my wedding party. I was not the only one that experienced their poor attitude and lazy work ethic. I was happy to move forward after my complaint but the way they responded was terrible. I was told by Kate, if I left another review (i had left a single google review) they would take legal action against me for harassment. I think this was an attempt to scare me, because it is not against the law to leave a truthful review. There is a top down problem at this place. That just goes to show how they deal with problems in a very unprofessional way, as they have lacked professionalism in general Park Crest's treatment of me, my bridal party, and my party on my wedding day was inexcusable and truly shocking. I was mostly upset with the way I was treated by Ted (audio) and Brooke (event coordinator). They ruined my mood with their bad attitudes and did not perform the jobs they were paid to do properly, despite very little being asked of them. I would also like to point out that many of the people that you see mentioned in the positive reviews online are no longer working at Park Crest. I wish I had realized this earlier. The people I was worked with, had dull and rude personalities and not right for the hospitality industry. In short, they ruined what should have been a happy day for me. I missed out on experiences I wanted to have due to time lost, was treated like an inconvenience on MY wedding day, the food was bad, the audio guy was incompetent and my cake was given away. I submitted the desired layout of the reception hall weeks in advance: they apparently neglected to review this information. On the day before the wedding, Ted an Brooke informed me that it was inconvenient to arrange the hall as I'd requested. I reiterated the reasons for the requested layout (photography flashes, ease of use, etc). He essentially threw a tantrum, huffing and slamming things around and generally behaving as if I were a nuisance . I sent Ted the list of songs to play at my reception, in the order they were to be played, three days before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, he asked me to email him the list again. He had a VERY easy job and was seen sitting on his phone most of the night. Despite the ease of this job, the specific schedule and songs provided, he played songs in the wrong order during a very important part. I had to leave the dance floor to inform him. Brooke, Park Crest's "event coordinator," shut herself into her office and refused to answer several knocks at the door. My cake maker arrived at the scheduled time and Brooke was no where to be found and my baker didn't know where the refrigerator for the cake was. After running around looking for help, a bridesmaid finally just opened the office door. Brooke had been in there whole time on her phone. This cut into the time designated for my bridal party photo shoot, which I had coordinated carefully for months. I could not get many of the shots I'd been planning for and looking forward to. If you choose to do business with Park Crest Events, expect the staff to ignore your communications, refuse to do the tasks you pay them to do, and to behave as if you're an unbearable irritation instead of a paying customer-and to eat your cake! To top it all off, when I very politely and rationally brought these issues to Park Crest's attention (in a thorough 5 page document), I was dismissed with a curt, thoughtless email saying, "the issues you've raised have been addressed." Around 2 weeks later, after making it clear I felt they had RIPPED US OFF and wasn't going to just let it go with a simple email, the co-owner called me. She asked me questions about what happened even though it was all in the email, and then acted like I was a problem for keeping her on the phone for too long and being upset. She also said "this is why we recommend a wedding planner." which was never recommended to me... However, she agreed that anything I asked of Ted and Brooke that day, was within the scope of their job. read more

This space is absolutely gorgeous and scenic. I had no idea this was tucked away near Elevation Apartments on Lorna. Super impressed with the space. A wedding party of 250 enjoyed themselves here this past weekend. Staff were on top of things. Salad and drinks were on the table and meals were brought out with very few questions. The dinner options were large and pretty good for banquet food. We were on the upper level and there was space albeit limited, for a jazz band, the wedding party, the cake, a DJ, dessert tables, photo tables and a few more. Outside there are areas for many photos and lounging. There are two parking lots. The lower one has a steep hill not conducive for high heels so take note. My only complaint is the outer drive was littered in mini liquor bottles. Maybe from former events or a current one not sure. Either way maybe some trash cans around the facility would prevent this. read more

We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at Park Crest Place and it was better than I could have ever imagined. The wait staff and bartenders were attentive, pleasant, and entirely wonderful to work with. Darryl did a beautiful job matching the menu to our Diamond and Denim theme and everyone raved about the food. They carefully boxed up all of our leftovers after the meal was done. Being completely technically challenged myself, their onsite AV tech was totally patient and helpful with our slideshow setup. I felt that the price was very reasonable for the quality of the product. They handled everything for us and went out of their way to make sure we felt good about the experience. read more

I made up the wedding date because I am not a dumb ass that will give my true wedding date so you can identify my family and come after us. (They seem like the type of people that would do that) This place has the rudest employees I have ever seen. Case in point she just lied and said "bogus" review when in reality all of those previous items listed occurred and even more that I didn't even get into. Gorgeous venue with an amazing staff! Chef Darryl Borden went above and beyond for our menu on our big day, and the cuisine was the talk of the evening. Hayden took care of all of our needs and did an excellent job coordinating all the events of the day! The staff was very friendly and accommodating all day and they seemed to enjoy our day as much as we did! Truly an amazing place! read more
