We found out about True Story Brewing after seeing an advertisement about their Arts and Oddities market. I used to live in the neighborhood, so my husband and I decided to visit in part to see a new brewery and in part as a trip down memory lane. The Arts and Oddities market was interesting. They were selling unique pieces of art as well as different types of crafts. From the outside, and when you first walk in the brewery, it seems like a tiny place. If you keep walking back, you'll see there is a large side room and a nice back patio. So no worries if the front bar seating is filled. It was interesting because they serve their own beers as well as other breweries beers. Because of this, I guarantee you'll find something that you'll like. The bartender was super friendly and nice. We appreciated that he took the time to explain the different beers and he let us know about the food they served. Now, let me tell you about the food!! Their loaded hotdogs were delicious, and something everyone needs to know about!! My favorite was the hot dog with the pimento cheese. Also, while your there, check out their cool murals!!

I love everything about this place. It's locally owned and operated by the sweetest family. It is kid friendly. They have a back patio. Live music. Pool table. Good food, get the turkey bacon wrap, nachos, or Crestwood Dog ( hold the mustard). Beers on tap.

We only stopped here to have a beer and check out the place. My spouse saw that it had live entertainment once in awhile so he wanted to see what that was about It is really a nice little brewery. That doesn't look like much from the parking lot. Nice outside patio too! The service wasn't stellar, but we enjoyed the place anyway. Please check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

True story has lots of great food options, but I went with the pimento cheese hotdog. The atmosphere is great, there's a lot of games, fun hats, and sports on the tv. Hunter was working and he was very polite and helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience the hotdog was fantastic.

This place is a hidden gem that I highly recommend everyone visiting at least once. The first time my husband and I visited we tried The Luchador and Chili Cheese Hot Dog. The staff was really nice and happy to see new faces. The small draft list is also very good and we sampled everything they had. My favorite was the Saison. Today I tried the famous pickle sandwich and it did not disappoint!

Their beer is wonderful and they have a few other types of sours and seltzers for people who aren't into craft beers.

While we were making the move from Texas to North Carolina we stopped in Tuscaloosa for the night…read more I wanted to try a restaurant downtown since it was our first time in this town and the Avenue pub came highly rated. Parking is manageable, but you'll need to find parking either in front or to the side of the restaurant. When you walk in it has the feel of a polished, upscale pub. We were seated and immediately ordered the bacon burger (which comes with a 1/2 a pound of ground beef with provolone and bacon). I also would recommend adding grilled onions to the burger and upgrading the fries to pub fries (seasoned fries topped with shaven Parmesan, mozzarella, and chopped bacon). The peppercorn ranch that is especially good and tied everything together. If you are looking for a craft burger spot in the heart of Tuscaloosa, I can't say enough good things about this place and it's absolutely worth checking out.

Me and wife came here for lunch after seeing reviews…read more I'll start with staff. They were very friendly and we were seated right away. For food I ordered the chicken club and wife got the fish and chips. The club was good not amazing. Both the sandwich and fries were a little too salt heavy. The fish and chips were ok. Not the best but not bad. Again fries little to salt heavy. I'd go back if someone really wanted to eat there but wouldn't choose this place.

They have long community tables as well as the most cozy tucked away booth for a group as well as rooftop seating. This is really great space for groups or even just you and a friend. Or, even if you want to go grab a bite and a beer after work there's a long bar you can sit at, too. The vibe is very laid-back, but also trendy which I love and the food is phenomenal. Last night I got the double burger and the bun was perfectly buttered and toasted, and the two patties with the cheese was super juicy. It does have a black pepper aïoli on it, which the pepper flavoring is definitely prominent, but it was still very good. I really love the fact that they do Fresh house cut french fries. It's really about the details! They are very known for their corn dog, just trust me, it's super fun. But everything I've ordered is always very good, they used to have the best lamb burger in town and I still dream about it! I also really appreciate that they have an extensive list of drink options from homemade unique cocktails to beer to wine and nonalcoholic beers and mocktails. There is something for everyone. They also have a lot of specials during the week as well as other activities like trivia on Wednesday nights. Their location will be moving in the beginning of 2025 but go check this place out!

We had a lovely lunch at the Garage!…read more Their sandwiches are fresh and made to order. It's very straight forward and you choose all of your own toppings. Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!
