Our cocktails of choice
Heather B.

First time visiting here with a group of friends. Very classy and elegant upscale cocktail bar. It is dimly lit, but there are windows all around that allow natural sunlight in. Service was good and we did get a chance to meet the owner, Trice. Everyone was pleasant. Our cocktails were fabulous. Trice had explained that the syrups he uses are made in house with the freshest ingredients. We ordered a few apps to go with our drinks. Again, very fresh and light. We absolutely loved the baked pita that came with the warm pimento cheese dip. We didn't taste much of the pimento, but still delicious... I mean who doesn't love melted cheese dip Very pleasant first time experience. Not a huge menu for food, but perfect for apps and cocktails with friends.

Beautiful cozy spot. The atmosphere was casual upscale. The staff was very attentive. I enjoyed the food. I thought the hummus was tasty with the soft pita and even the veggies. My drink was tasty, it was their version of a lemon drop. My friend got the whiskey sour and she was upset at the size... it was pretty tiny. My entrees was very delicious but it came out lukewarm. Beef and potatoes should be served stemming hot. Also the portion of the mashed potatoes could have been a bit more generous. The burger girls were ok with their choice, no frill there. This spot has an extremely limited food menu, so it's not a place I'd frequent but it's definitely worth a future return!

Me and a friend agreed to meet up here for Sunday brunch. Upon arrival , we were seated in the front dining space near the bar (at a little table) lol Our server was pleasant and was pretty prompt in taking our drink and food orders. Their brunch menu isn't huge but highlights those main dishes most people enjoy for brunch. I ordered the chicken and waffle. My friend ordered shrimp and grits. We both were starving so we were excited when the food came out as quickly as it did. Me and my friend both enjoyed our selections. I would request no cinnamon on the waffle next time ... it was a bit too potent. Everything else was fine. Of course brunch isn't complete w/o a few mimosas! The bartender was amazing and friendly to chat with. Our first visit to Sticks N Stones was fun and checked all the boxes. We will definitely be back again soon!

Knox Square Margarita

My sister and I went here last night and it was such a delight! I started with the Knox square margarita and y'all I think I found my favorite drink. Their drinks were so good I ordered three. The next drink I had was the honey bee and it was so tasty. We ordered the wings to start off with food and they were cooked perfectly , the sauce was good and sticky. Our favorite was the Thai jerk , it was sweet and spicy we throughly enjoyed them. The honey buffalo was pretty good too , I enjoyed them. Next was the steak frites! And when I say TENDER. That steak was so tender and the flavor was out of this world! The fries has this flavor in them that were pure perfection. The service was great, our server checked on us and took care of us very well. It was very clean inside and the ambience was absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back for more!

Went to Sticks-N-Stones Cocktail Bar for Galentine's with my girls and it was such a vibe. Very grown and sexy atmosphere. They were hosting singles night and gave out roses and champagne which was a super cute touch. I had the steak frites special and it melted in my mouth. Soooooo sooooo good....clearly... empty plate They got bonus points from me for the bathroom being stocked with women's essentials and toothpicks. The details matter. I will for sure be back!!!

We decided to stop into Sticks and Stones before doing some Duck Bowling at Tap Ins. This is a perfect date night combination especially since they are right next door to each other. You can grab dinner at Sticks N Stones then enjoy an activity at Tap Ins. Sticks and Stones offers shareables as well as entrees. The shareables include chicken wings, a hummus plate and a charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was a little pricey. Entrees include the Short Ribs and a burger. The $25 burger was a little high for my tastes, but I have not tried it. The cocktail prices were not bad, and we were very impressed with the bar tender. She was very knowledgeable about the drinks. I appreciated that she went out of her way to make a Penicillin Mocktail for me. It was super delicious especially with the spiced simple syrup that they make in house. They had a nice music selection. I loved the disco music that was played.

We came to Sticks-N-Stones for my best friend's birthday. We were able to reserve a beautiful room there. Our food and drinks were great! I loved my steak and the fries were crisp to perfection. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this restaurant especially if you're looking to celebrate a special occasion.

Great drinks, appetizers and service. Great place for a small gathering or date night. Trice, the owner and all staff is amazing.

Iceberg Wedge Salad

We discovered this unspoken, timeless spot called Sticks and Stones. Our usual place was closed for Thanksgiving weekend, so I used Yelp to find nearby options. One place came up, and at first, we weren't sure if it was open, but we walked in and immediately felt good vibes. No TVs, just hip R&B and Funk music, with a beautiful L-shaped bar and friendly bartenders Chloe and Ian. The menu is minimal, offering tapas and small plates, but that's because everything is made in-house and is especially good. We started with a House cocktail, the Pear & Proper, which is magnificent. Then we ordered the Wedge salad, and it was divine. After that, we shared the Red Wine Braised Short Rib, which melts in your mouth--their signature dish. We finished with an espresso Martini and some great Calamari. This has become our new FAVORITE. Must try!!!

Oh what sweet spot. This black owned gem is nestled into a community in Hoover, AL. It's a quaint place with a beautiful ambiance. Dim lights, excellent service, and delicious drinks. We didn't try the food, but saw what others ordered and it looked extraordinary. The bar manager was friendly, inviting, and gave phenomenal service.

10/10 the adult happy meal made us all HAPPY!!! Cheeseburgers with truffle fries and champagne Who wouldn't love that? Service is impeccable. What a wonderful experience! We definitely recommend and are looking forward to our next visit.

Order the Ginny Hendrix! This place is new and fresh. Very tastefully decorated. We'd been planning to go for over a week. The day of our visit, we found out they had a special event that day and was closing at 6 (it had been announced. I just missed it). We arrived shortly after 4pm, then greeted and seated quickly. The server informed us of the early closure, kindly. Nothing felt rushed. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. The food was good. My friend highly recommends the salmon dish and the wings were described as very well seasoned. I had the hummus/pita and I would order it again. The drinks were fabulous.

We all agreed beforehand that we wanted to try a new place that felt pretty relaxed and had outdoor seating. This place gave everything, plus some! We didn't have to wait long for a table, and our waiter was very attentive & knowledgeable about the menu. He answered all of our questions & helped me decide what to order. The outdoor seating is spacious & it was nice to hear the live music coming from a neighboring business. My friends got the Goofy Foot drink & said that it was good but definitely on the stronger side w/the tequila. I opted for a glass of Riesling, it was delicious & paired perfectly with my meal. We didn't get any appetizers. I ordered the fish of the day: Red Snapper w/a Sweet Pea, Tomato & Saffron Risotto 20/10 I always judge food on whether it's "first bite" good & every piece on my plate passed the test. One of my friends chose the Smoked Salmon Pizza, which I was a bit skeptical about at first, but I tried a slice & it was so good. Definitely an out of the ordinary pizza combo that made me rethink all the ways smoked salmon can be used. Another friend ordered the Grilled Ribeye w/Brussel Sprouts & Mashed Potatoes, she loved it! The espresso martinis were also delicious. I wanted a cannoli for dessert but they were sold out, unfortunately. Overall, I'll definitely be returning b/c the food, pricing & atmosphere are all worth the drive. Can't wait to try the lunch menu next!

After being seated in the bar area, we were informed by our server that only appetizers were available. This was both confusing and disappointing, as it does not align with reasonable expectations for a restaurant still open for regular business. If the kitchen is no longer able or willing to prepare full menu items well before closing, that policy should be clearly communicated--either through adjusted hours or by informing guests upon arrival. Otherwise, it creates the impression of inconsistent operations or a lack of coordination between management and staff. Situations like this suggest a need for clearer operational standards, better communication, and stronger staff alignment with customer service expectations. Guests should not feel discouraged from dining simply because they arrive within what should be standard service hours. Overall, the experience reflects an opportunity for improvement in both management practices and customer hospitality.

We chose to sit on the patio since the Alabama heat has FINALLY settled down a smidge. The patio was spacious with plenty of tables as well as couches. There are several televisions positioned around the patio, so no matter where you sit, you can still catch the game. While it is definitely a sports restaurant, it also felt very family friendly. There were even a couple of young girls recording a TikTok on the patio, which brought a smile to my face. Our server was McKenna. She was pleasant throughout our visit, and it was obvious that she was making an effort to provide good service. She took our drink orders promptly, and our food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the Ahi Tuna salad and was pleasantly surprised by the size. It was not only plentiful, but beautiful and delicious! My son's food must have been delicious because he finished it in record time. His significant other did not have quite the same experience. She ordered her burger without lettuce, tomato, or mayonnaise, but it arrived with all three. Her fries, which she had been looking forward to, were also very hard. She ended up taking her burger apart to remove the toppings and left nearly all of the fries untouched after trying one. In McKenna's defense, it was a bit loud on the patio, so it is certainly possible she did not hear the request to leave the lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise off the burger. Toward the end of our meal, my remaining salad had been boxed to go and it was clear we were finished. After waiting about 15 minutes, we eventually had to ask for our check. When McKenna brought it, she explained that she had accidentally mixed up our check with the table behind us, who had already left. She was apologetic and explained that their ticket, which she handed to us, was lower than ours and hoped we did not mind. We certainly did not mind paying less, but I did feel bad knowing the other table had apparently paid about $10 more than they should have. As we were leaving, I also noticed quite a few napkins, dishes, and other items scattered around the patio. More frequent attention to clearing and tidying the outdoor area would make an already nice patio space even more enjoyable. Overall, it was an okay first experience, and I would definitely give Walk On's another try because there were several things on the menu that caught my attention. McKenna was kind and pleasant, and I do not want the mistakes during our visit to overshadow that. However, between the incorrect food order, the delay with the check, and the ticket mix up, I do think some additional training and attention to detail would be beneficial. And that Ahi Tuna salad? I'd order it again in a heartbeat!

The restaurant is intimate but well laid out, featuring a couple of distinct dining areas and a bar. Since it was our first time, our server, Daniella, recommended the candied bacon bombs to start. They came with a side of cheese curds, and both were absolutely delicious. Even as small as the curds were, they had a perfect cheese pull! For our mains, I ordered the cowboy burger with an added egg and a side of sweet potato fries, while my son chose the shrimp and grits. My burger was incredible, a solid 9.5 out of 10. My son rated his shrimp and grits a 7, though he has a lot of experience with that dish to compare it to. Daniella provided fantastic service, checking in at just the right times without hovering. I later realized I forgot to ask if they do anything special for birthdays, but honestly, my son was probably glad I forgot!
