A fantastic no-frills spot that over-delivers on quality and value. Every bite of the fresh seafood is cooked to perfection, and their breaded, made-to-order items are incredibly crispy. Sitting outside on their patio is a great way to enjoy a meal when the weather cooperates. The $19 lobster roll is an absolute steal--it is stacked with massive, sweet chunks of lobster. I can't recommend this place enough and will absolutely be a returning customer.

So good! Best fried clams I've ever had and definitely top 3 lobster roll. Service was excellent and the place has amazing vibes. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather along with our awesome food.

So this was always one of my favorite places to eat. But somewhere along the line the batter changed. Weve been coming off and on for years. A couple years ago we threw most of our food in the trash because it just didn't taste good. Today we decided to give it another go. The fish was ok but definitely didn't taste like it used to. The chicken wss horrible. We brought some home to my daughter who also always loved their food and she tossed it in the garbage. Its ok but I doubt we will go again. I wish I had the old batter recipe. It was delicious!

One year ago we found the Red Barn & loved it. 365 days later here we are again!!! 1 hour 15 minute drive from Old Orchard Beach. The time to get here, the gas used makes no difference. The Red Barn is one of Maine's great treasures. The owner Laura is such a giver. Her food trucks go to Nursing homes Veterens home & every meal given is for free. Laura is a live walking Angel. We had her amazing seafood stew, clam strips & whole belly clams. We ate too much everything was awesome. We have enough left overs fo another meal or two.

So good. I had a fish fillet sandwich - two thick slabs of light, moist, tender haddock, perfectly fried. Served with a smile. We have lost of fried seafood joints where I live in Connecticut. Some are very, very good. Red Barn is better. (Also had a whoopie pie - don't tell my wife. LOL)

This place is hopping. Huge outside seating area so many options table outside ,tables in shelters ,games lots of parking. A good menu. I regrettably did not get the fried chicken or seafood but next time will do better. They both looked so good. I did get a photo of someone else's. We got the homemade onion rings a large order could last 2 days it was a very generous portion and so good. The cheeseburger got a great review as did the chocolate shake and coleslaw. The grilled chicken on a gluten free bun was just ok but I get that I was at a place that specializes in fried food so I won't judge too much . I will say I was baffled that it was pieces of chicken not a whole filet which makes it harder to eat as the chicken kept falling out. The GF bun was not the best but that's how those things are . I will say the fried food looked amazing and would recommend that. Service was great very efficient and accommodating.

Great roadside stop with huge portions and a super casual vibe. The batter on everything is light and crispy, not greasy at all. Loved the option to choose between baskets (with fries) and pints (no fries). We tried: * Scallop and shrimp pints (both were really fresh, and the scallops were huge) * Deep-fried veggie basket (generous mix of mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, bell peppers, and onions. Broccoli and mushrooms were the standouts) * Lobster roll with fries (still good, just not my personal preference--had large claw meat and I usually like smaller chunks and a buttered, grilled bun) * Black raspberry shake (classic and delicious) Massive outdoor seating area with plenty of picnic tables. Great spot when you have a dog. Porta potties available if you need one. Overall, not a bad pit stop on the way back to Boston.

Best seafood stew in all of the Western Hemisphere. Customer service is more important to them than anything and it clearly shows.

The place was clean and nice. And the foods flavor was good. Now, the bad. While the flavor of the food was good, the food itself wasn't. Everything was extremely dry. We got the hush puppies to start and the sampler to try a little of everything. It was like a desert it was so dry. The hush puppies, chicken, ribs, brisket (which was more like pulled pork because they shred it for some reason) corn bread, and somehow both the coleslaw and baked beans, too. The only way this happens is if they make things earlier in the day and then everything just sits. Meaning it's not freshly made. As I mentioned, it was not very busy, so I'm assuming they make their food in advance and let it sit in pans over heat all day. Which is not what you do with BBQ. It's quite disappointing because the flavor is there. The spices they use were a southern flavor, which is good; but it's so dry, you'll be reenacting the scene from Christmas Vacation just to eat your food. They should consider either limiting their hours they are open to help not have food sitting around to dry out or reconsidering how the make their food. Dry BBQ is the worst, hopefully they'll make the appropriate changes.
