The service was good! We booked our reservation online and actually had to move it back around 2 times and they were so kind about it and worked with us. When we got there, we got greeted quickly by a server (he ended up just getting us started while our actual server was busy) but they were both great. We got the bone in cowboy steak at medium rare but there was NO bone (our server told us that sometimes the kitchen will remove the bone) and confirmed that was the correct order. We ordered medium rare but our steak definitely came out rare (we did not mind at all! The steak was still juicy and well seasoned). The sides were great! It is definitely a little bigger than personal size but only shareable with another person. My friend and I shared everything we got and we were soooo full. The ambiance is a casual barn like restaurant. The service was quick at getting us seated. It was so hot that day that outdoor seating was closed off, but they had an enclosed patio with air conditioning. They also have a regular dinning area in the main part. The drinks were really good!!! I got a classic margarita and it was so perfect and well balanced. The tequila they used was local and delicious. My boyfriend got the hazy IPA. We ordered the Slow Smoked Beef Ribs with Mac and cheese and cornbread and fried chicken sandwich. The cornbread was like a sweet desert and was one of my favorites on this Texas trip. We chose this for our company dinner while working in Dallas for three weeks, and it was an excellent choice. From the mini Elk tacos we started with - everyone needs to start with this - and a fantastic pork belly burnt ends, we started off great and the meal improved from there. The roasted garlic stuffed filet would have been the headline of most steakhouses I've been to, yet for as great as it was, the other two meals really stood out. The blackened catfish and shrimp on a bed of sausage jambalaya was amazing, I could eat that jambalaya all day long. Then .. the star of the show, a mesquite grilled, chile brined, carnitas dry rubbed pork chop. That brine made it so incredibly moist and delicious that all three of us agreed was among the best single items we've ever had. This place was really really good! My girlfriend and I came here for lunch one of our days while vacationing in Dallas. We liked the vibe of the restaurant from the pictures and so we decided to visit. It was well worth it. The crab dip was pretty good. It's not quite as good as what we get at home in DC but still stands its ground. I ordered the Texas Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was quite delicious. The chicken was fried perfectly. And the spicy Mayo added a creamy note to the sandwich. My girlfriend got the ribs and they were pretty good as well. Very tender and flavorful. We got the Homestead cake for dessert and it was like a carrot cake but with a caramel sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The service was pretty good. Our waiter has a hard time understanding when my girlfriend was asking about non alcoholic drinks but after that the service was great. Wait times were fairly short since it was a Monday at lunch time. They also got our last minute to go order out in about 10 mins. The ambiance truly feels like a ranch. It's got a main dining area and then a "patio" style area with the bar top. It's got a lot of natural lighting and feels like being outside but without the elements. They do have live music in this room sometimes. They also have outdoor seating when it's not too hot. We were overall happy with our experience here. Went here for their sunflower festival event but I've gone here before (probably like 10+ times) and one thing that I like about this restaurant is consistency. Their consistency in food, doesn't matter what you get, everything on the menu is very good! I would highly recommend the elk tacos, meatloaf, fried chicken steak, biscuits, Texas lemonade, honestly everything! I've tried it all! The Ranch was a good place for dinner while I was on a work trip last week! I sat at the bar since I was running solo. I arrived early enough to order off of happy hour so I enjoyed an $8 wine while looking over the menu! Happy hour must be popular here as the bar area was busy! I ordered the chicken fried steak and requested the gravy come on the side. The food came out very quick and the CFS was tender and had great flavor! However, I was slightly disappointed the lack of crispiness of the fried batter coating. Along with controlling the amount of gravy, ordering the gravy as a side usually helps the texture stand out, but it was a bit MIA. Have to say I have several better CFS's back in Denver. Nonetheless, it was a solid meal and I loved the jalapeño flavored gravy, delicious buttery green beans, and rich mashed potatoes! With the meal, I enjoyed the bee sting cocktail. Great cocktail which balanced the whiskey, fruit, honey, and jalapeño flavors! I splurged and ordered dessert- the pecan pie! Huge slice served with ice cream! Slightly over priced, but rich and delicious- would recommend if you wanted to end the visit with a sweeeeet note. Service was very speedy and attentive. There are a lot of good things about this place and I am willing to go back to give it another try. First the ambiance of this place is great. Absolutely loved the inside decor, seating and the vibe. Service was pretty good as well. We went on a Friday around 12 we got seated quickly and food was served pretty quick. The only part that I did not like about the seating was that the seating was a little closer than I would have liked. We ordered chicken fried steak with mac and cheese and green beans. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with the potatoes and mac and cheese. My daughter ordered the double cheeseburger. We also ordered the onion ring stack. The onion rings were great, good flavor and crispy. I enjoyed my chicken fried chicken but the mac and cheese could have used some work. The noodles just didnt hold up to cheese but the green beans were good. In contrast my husband didnt like the steak, it wasnt seasoned and was more breading than actual meat. My daughter didnt care for the burger either. I also ordered the Homestead cake, which I liked. The icing and caramel sauce were amazing and the cake, a garden cake, tasted like a lighter less dense carrot cake. The waiter told me what was included but I only remember carrots and apricots. I was a little worried but I ended up being pleasantly surprised as it was good. My eldest daughter had the ribeye steak ( she said it was her favorite steak ever), I had the chicken fried chicken, loved that it was tender and batter wasn't thick or overwhelming, my husband had the marinated pork lion ( marinated for 36 hours if I'm not mistaken) he savored every bite and youngest had the shrimp, she ate it faster than we can ask for a bite... lol Atmosphere was perfect and enjoyable. Felt a little rushed even tho the place was half full. Three, count them THREE, hostesses standing there - looking bored - as we walked in. Our server had some energy, had no idea her name tho till after we got out printed receipt, but the vibe doesn't fit the price tag: servers not in uniforms, and since when is (guest) ripped jeans shorts, tshirts and ball caps part of a nice steakhouse? Seasoned great, cooked correctly and all enjoyed. The redfish gets a mixed review. I loved it. Super creamy and rich. Was randomly looking around on apple maps and saw this place, booked a reservation for a saturday night. a PERFECT meal to finish off our trip to Irving. our waiter chris was amazing, super attentive and helpful with questions and recommendations. We started with the fried tomatoes and the crab dip. For mains my mom got the meatloaf and me and my friend split the tomahawk (we finished the whole thing). Sides were broccolini, brussel sprouts, farm vegetables, and cornbread. Dessert was the pecan pie and the chocolate cake. Everything from start to finish was a 10/10. Never heard of this place but probably because I don't live super close to the area. Definitely has a the Texan ranch decor down. Pretty big space. Had live music on a weeknight. Gets pretty loud in here so hard to have a conversation. Typical steak options. Got a New York strip medium rare ($43) and it was good enough for me. Thought the sides would be shareable but they're on the smaller side. The server did tell us this point. The Brussel sprouts were good. The lump crab dip (~$20) was also a highlight but wish it came with my things to dip it in. They do have some happy hour drink specials from 4-6. Can't recall exactly but typical house wine and beer and maybe one or two cocktails. Probably wouldn't come back again but could see it being suggested for a birthday or other celebration. read more

Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and truly satisfying. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. I paired it with the grilled asparagus, which was good--nicely charred and well-seasoned--but next time I'd likely try a different side, just to explore more of the menu. That steak, though? Perfectly seasoned and I got mine medium and chargrilled for a bonus crisp. I was surprised to cut into it and it was still very raw looking in the center but was advised to try it. It was possibly still mooing for my normal choice but I actually found it absolutely perfect and delish! That taste will linger and was it worth the 3 hour flight and extra stuff? Oh yes, I will do it again maybe annually even. Next stop is barbecue at Goldees, 8 am morning line. When in Dallas, grab a garlic stuffed filet: it will change your life. The ambiance inside is beautiful, as it pulls off an elegant, rustic look. The menu consists of some unique options that many restaurants don't offer. What an absolutely awesome restaurant! Miss Jenna did a fantastic job and hit every menu item with excitement and understanding of what our table wanted. She shared with us what she liked and what she did not like, which is very rare for a restaurant not to try to sell every single thing that there is. The honesty was above reproach, and she nailed it! I had the boneless ribeye that was cooked to perfection with the broccolini and the table shared the bread pudding, which was incredible.
