Decor was so cute! Food and coffee were good for a small hotel. The employees are so sweet and very helpful!

The coffee was just okay here, but the interior saved the experience. Really cool arcade style with aesthetics that favor the SD Padres. They have a ton of food menu options as well as drink options. There's a bunch of places to sit and enjoy your meal inside or outside. It is attached to the Rambler Motel just a hop and a skip away from the new Gaylord Hotel.

Clean - spacious- tranquil yet creative and fun atmosphere! Definitely the right choice for US to have a peaceful lunch. Girls up front were super nice and polite and got our drinks out right away'. I Had the horchata latte - iced and it was deliciously refreshing , not too sweet or overpowering with cinnamon- the coffee blend is nice & strong and pops out more than the horchata flavor - Oat milk latte was also perfectly balanced & I took a macchiato to go for the road! Definitely the spot for one of the best coffees!

Cool little cafe with great service and food. Located next to the Rambler Motel in a very convenient location.Has an interesting vibe with heading to the casino, going for a hike o by the bay or staying at the inn. Prices are reasonable especially if you stay at the inn you receive a 30 percent discount!

This place is adorable. This coffee shop is connected to the Rambler Motel. There are arcade games and there is plenty of space to sit inside or outside. My gansito latte was great! They also have lots of food options. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful!

I'm always rambling on about this place! Such a great relaxed place to go to in the morning. Awesome food, coffee and arcade. Plus, the staff is super sweet!

Nice ambience and unique coffee shop in the middle of a motel. It has a unique style and design. Staff were kind and helpful. It's a quiet and a relaxing place in a desert like area. For sure worth a visit if you are in the area.

    Avocado Toast

Avocado toast more like toast with a thin layer of avocado. Im actually in shock when my boyfriend came to me with this.

Cool spot inside the rambler motel! I loved the decor inside with all of the arcade games. Plenty of treats & drink options to choose from. I went with a hazelnut almond milk latte & overall enjoyed getting some work done here

I had some of the best coffee here! I was staying at the hotel for a night and carefully chose this hotel because of the cafe! I needed a place to work and caffeinate and the Rambler stood out for its great reviews. I was one of the first customers there and took a look at the menu for a bit. I opted for a cold brew with brown butter toffee and half and half. This was ever so delicious and I could not put my cup down. The cafe area was clean, had a few arcade games, and had an ample amount of room for coworking. Since I was staying on the property, I was given a discount on my bill!

The biggest flex of this place is the fact they had a dj playing music the moment you step in. I already knew this place was going to be fun because of this reason. Chili Crisp Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (4/5) Nice and light for a breakfast option. Not too heavy, which I appreciate. The sauce adds a nice flavor profile to the sandwich. I just wish the sandwich had a little more of the chili crisp so I could taste it in the meal and really bring the whole thing together. But still a great option and tasted delicious regardless. Tater Tots (5/5) Tasty and crunchy. There's a specific seasoning to the tater tots that really elevates the flavor, but i can't pinpoint. Really pairs well with any dish that you order from this place, really! Highly recommend and would come back the next time I'm in the SD area!

The drinks and food alone is enough to bring you in but the vibes and music really seal the deal. I love their unique matcha and coffee lattes. I'm also annoying about their tater tots because they really truly are the absolute best I've ever had. It does seem to be always pretty busy, but finding somewhere to sit hasn't ever been a huge issue. The staff is really efficient and helpful.

Lets talk about the vibes first...amazing decor and vibes, decor and walls and atmosphere is very cool and unique I truly love it so much. The staff is very nice, offering suggestions on drinks with big smiles and welcoming energy. Now the drinks and food: the drink I got last time was an iced mocha (no picture but I remember it was very good). This time I went with my mom and we both got the "Moon" drink.. a Chai/Matcha which was such a good drink, I want like a 40oz of it to take with me home for the week. I also ordered the pesto turkey sandwhich to share and I can not express how good this was. Perfectly crispy, juicy and fresh. Took the first bite and literally gasped because not only was the bread toasted to perfection but the veggies and turkey were so flavorful. The veggies and pesto and turkey were also layered in a way that made every bite delectable and that to me is art. Loved it, want more of it and I WILL be back to try more drinks and sandwhiches.

It's third ave I mean if you are from San Diego you know it's either neighborhood parking or the meters. Not a big deal though. I am greeted by Karely and her big smile, one of the baristas. It is tiny location but long, they have two gender neutral bathrooms at the end. A few tables to sit down inside and out. A cute bench with the view of third ave traffic. Interior decor is super cute I loved, one of my favs was this board they have which is a basically you pay a coffee forward and you put the sticky there for the next person to get their drink. I totally don't work there so I would just reconfirm what can be redeemed. Drink: I get an iced dirty chai WITH banana cold foam. 10/10 must try. They also offer matcha for you matcha lovers. Grind house has found a new customer and yes, I've already brought so many friends here. My only suggestion would be to maybe have a phone charging station, that's all! :)

The staff was genuinely friendly, and we were able to find a seat inside without too much trouble. We expected a bit of a wait given how busy it was, but the timing ended up being a bit off. Our food arrived first--we had the avocado toast and the mini green chilaquiles. Both dishes were delicious, though the chilaquiles verdes leaned a little heavy on the garlic. (Seriously--hours later, even after brushing, lunch, and multiple rounds of mouthwash, that garlic flavor was still going strong.) We took our time eating, hoping the drinks would arrive, but they didn't come out until much later. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced churro latte. The cappuccino finally came out right as we finished eating--it tasted good, just a bit lukewarm. About five minutes later, the iced churro latte was ready, so we ended up taking it to go. That one was actually really good. Overall, the food and drinks were solid, and the staff made a great impression. I'd definitely like to come back and give it another shot. I love supporting small, locally owned businesses, and with a little adjustment to the flow--like pausing mobile orders during peak times or dedicating a team specifically to them--this place could really elevate the experience.

My husband and I both love ube, and Cafe 86 is known for its variety of ube desserts. It was fairly quiet when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Since we had already eaten lunch, we decided to stop by for dessert. The inside was pretty nice -- I especially liked the lighting, which gave the place an industrial vibe. There were couches and tables for seating, making it feel comfortable overall. We were greeted by a younger employee who could've been a bit more energetic and welcoming. The dessert case also looked a little sparse and underwhelming. My husband ordered the Ube Monster shake, and I got the ube cheesecake. The shake was pretty good, though not as creamy as I expected, and I wished the ube flavor was stronger. The ube cheesecake, on the other hand, was fluffy and not overly sweet, which I really liked. It also had a thick cookie crust that was delicious. Still, I would've loved a more pronounced ube flavor in that as well. I'm a huge ube fan, and when I make ube desserts at home, I usually add extra flavoring to really make it stand out. Overall, I'd come back again. Next time, I definitely want to try the flan!

Maybe I could have asked but what made it challenging was that the menu did not clearly show everything they had to offer or it was hard to decipher which price went with what item. The cooler was pretty good and it was part of their $3 drink specials. Keep in mind though, it was not advertised, I just happened to know because I almost did an online order and saw it. I plan to go back and try some more things but there really needs to be more transparency about the menu and the prices clearly displayed.
