The front desk attendant at the hotel gave us a double thumbs up on the nearby Coachman Restaurant and Lounge so we made our way over with rather high expectations. We have to admit that at first glance the Coachman doesn't suggest a superior dining experience. A somewhat tired exterior and an outdoor deck populated by smokers gave us pause but we pressed on and could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the food, drink, and service. We started with a Casamiga Ranch Water and a pint of the local amber ale. The drinks arrived in frosted glasses with the perfect degree of crispness. The star here is the prime rib. We had the 12 ounce prime which was perfectly rare and served with a large dollop of horseradish as well as a medium rare prime rib sandwich. The meat was flawlessly seasoned and impeccably tender. Our visit to the Coachman reinforced the adage that one ought not judge a book by its cover. We don't know if our adventures will take us through Plainfield again but if they do we will prioritize a meal at the Coachman!

Boulder Creek has a lodge vibe with big exposed beams. An inviting patio is outside, but we sat in the upscale dining room. We hit the happy hour for a round of drinks that are $3 off. I had a glass of Chardonnay and my husband had a beer that sounded like "elephant" or something. We met other friends and had a big table. The chairs were comfortable. I had the grouper fish and chips, which was awesome. The chopped house salad is super fresh and delicious. I love the sunflower seeds. The fried grouper is perfectly battered and crispy. The slaw is creamy and the portion is large. The fresh cut fries are delicious. I loved my meal. Several of my friends had the salmon on mash potatoes dish which they raved about. A couple people made substitutions for baked potatoes or broccoli and the staff was super accommodating. Our server, Chloee, was super attentive and got our complex order perfect. She checked on us frequently. Food came out quickly. Chloee even brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl. Chloee is a five star server, for sure. Even though the dining room had a lot of people, we could hear and talk well. The acoustics are good. We had a perfect dining experience. I can't wait to return. The restaurant is an easy stop off of I74 - maybe two blocks. We found plenty of parking in the strip mall lot. The facility is totally accessible.

The pesto was flavorful, a 5 star dinner. LAM had the tenderloin sandwich and baked potato. First noticed the baked potato, whick was super toasty, maybe cuz we were close to closing time, but whatever, it was magnificent. Both it and the sandwich were a 5 star meal. Dont be fooled by the great pics of the fresh bread, it was pretty dry and no crusty crust. The oil served with it wad tasteless. Now, the negatives. Service. Maybe because we came in after 8 and they close at 9 but the restaurant was empty inside when we came in and 2 table outside, but it took a while to get us seated. Then, we needed a minute to review the menu and it waz a good 15 minutes at least before the waitress came back. There were staff all around, moving and resetting tables for the next day, but seriously, I even asked a someone to find our waitress for us and it still took a while. Lastly, the bathroom was a mess and the floor of the restaurant proper was a mess. Again maybe because they were getting ready for close, sheesh. But the food was good.

The teenage hosts that greeted us were friendly and professional, and took us to our table where we were grateful to be sat in Clay's section- he was the perfect amount of menu knowledge + friendliness. The food was good, too! We regret not stopping in sooner but will be back.

She's hilarious, keeps the conversation going, and somehow makes the whole experience even better. Great bartenders have a way of turning dinner into an evening, and she's one of them. The first time we visited, I was looking for a steak sandwich on the menu, and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I described to the bartender that day and he suggested the lunch cheesesteak instead--and he absolutely nailed it. It was exactly what I was craving, loaded with perfectly seasoned meat and plenty of it. The burgers have always been juicy and cooked just right, too. But let's talk about the real stars of the show... the fries. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and somehow impossible to stop eating. Every time we say, "Okay, that's enough," another fry mysteriously disappears. And if onion rings are your thing, don't skip them. The portion is enormous, and the dipping sauce is dangerously good. I'm only half joking when I say I'd happily drink it from a cup. Shallo's has that classic neighborhood pub feel where it's easy to settle in for a while. Great food, genuinely fun service, and the kind of place you'll find yourself recommending... then returning to yourself.

We ordered the crispy Vidalia onion strings, brussel sprouts and split the salmon entree (we had seen it being served and it was HUGE!). They gave us what had to be the quietest table in the place and it was perfect for conversation (although I think most tables would have been totally fine). Excellent food - I had the filet - wonderful sear and flavor. Mashed potatoes paired very well with it. Great peanut butter pie to wrap up the night! Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. Above and beyond service - My original entree turned out to be out of stock. I told them it was no big deal, but they suggested the filet as a substitute, comped it despite it being pricier, and kept the generosity going all night. They obviously hold themselves to a very high standard. Friendly bar - Some of us arrived early and the bar was an awesome place to hang out before our reservation. We tried to pay for drinks there but they just told us it would be charged to our table. Overall - Will 100% be back here for our next reunion!

Giving this 2 stars instead of 1 only because we love SC. [giving this review on behalf of my parents who are not on Yelp] We sat outside on a beautiful evening, and it took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. A server finally noticed us and went ahead took our order while trying to find out who was supposed to take care of us. Things unfortunately failed to go up from there. One of our entrees, a salad, was delivered right away--before our drinks and complimentary bread. The salad also didn't have dressing. The bread was then delivered without the dipping sauce. Our drinks still had not arrived. We had been pointing all of these mishaps out to the server and eventually manager. The manager offered us a free dessert, which, while appreciated, was not what we needed. We needed the bread dipping sauce, our drinks, the other entree and the dressing to the salad. The other entree was delivered, followed by drinks and dipping sauce. No dressing though. I could keep going. The point is, nothing was on par with Stone Creek, Cunningham restaurants...or any restaurant I want in Greenwood. Hoping management can right this one example of a consistent breakdown of the system. I believe it can and will be done! Onward!
