Hadn't been to Murphy's Craft House in several years and sure glad we rediscovered this spot in Geist area. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was yummy! I am quite the margarita connoisseur and often non-Mexican establishments miss the point of a good margarita- not so at Murphy's! Hope their margaritas are always this good cause they really were delicious! The Pub Pretzel was one of the best we've had in town- soft and warm and buttery and perfect! I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich- fried- and the brioche bun was far better than most. Often brioche buns are so dry and disappointing- not here. The sandwich was very good overall! My husband had the pork tenderloin sandwich and said it was pretty good. Sorry no food pics- I was too busy drinking my second margarita! We'll be back! read more

Came here with a friend recently and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was really chill, nothing really stood out but the staff were really nice. They have TV's all over & the Pacer's were on so that's a plus haha. We ordered wings. He had the lemon pepper, which we think they mistakenly gave him the sriracha dry rub because they didn't taste like lemon pepper, at all! I had the craft house wings with their signature breaker sauce. It's supposed to be a sweet sauce with a hint of spicy. It was more on the spicy side, but I didn't mind it was still good. The things I loved most was the house made ranch & the Cosmo's were really good. Also, time was flying by as we were sitting there talking and they didn't rush out. We came for my grandfather's 80th birthday, and the manager completely ruined the night. Our server was great, but the manager was rude and even gossiped about my family at the bar like we couldn't see it. So trashy & downright weird. The food came out cold or overcooked, and instead of helping, the manager just made everything worse. We weren't being unreasonable --we simply asked for two steaks to be compensated for a family tab over $300. The manager couldn't do that for us which sounds like the restaurant isn't doing well. It makes sense though, the manager is trash! Then a worker kept stalking our table, hovering and staring at us, which was beyond uncomfortable -- especially with two small kids there. This place was a disaster and desperately needs new management. We won't be back. read more

We came in hoping for a nice family dinner (grandfathers 80th birthday), and while our server was genuinely wonderful, everything else was a mess. Our food came out overcooked and cold, which is impressive in the worst way. When we sent the steaks back, they didn't remake them--they clearly just reheated the same ones and brought them back out dry, tough, and still wrong. The real problem, though, was the manager. Instead of apologizing or trying to make things right, she was defensive, condescending, and borderline aggressive. It felt like we were being scolded for daring to mention that our food was bad. And if that wasn't unprofessional enough, she then marched over to the bar and started talking about us to the regulars--while pointing at my family. Absolutely unbelievable behavior for someone running a restaurant. The only bright spot was our server, who did their best despite everything. So this used to be one of our favorite places to run to with company and ourselves!! We could walk there and get great meal and drinks. The last two times the food was below average and I don't see us going back for a while. We were a party of four and only one person enjoyed their meal, two ordered burgers and they were small and burned and no flavor. One Reuben that had very little corned beef and no thousand island dressing. I ordered the Pork tenderloin and it was burned and small. Anyone who knows anything about pork tenderloin knows they are usually crisp on the outside, juicy and almost double the size of the bun! Mine was barely the size of the bun and blackened! If you come here on a Monday, be prepared for a lot of the menu items to be out of stock because their delivery truck doesn't come until Tuesdays. But don't let that deter you from coming. They were very accommodating to allowing me to custom my order to fit my dietary needs. My husband ordered the pretzel appetizer. I must confess I did have a nibble on it and it was ahh-mmmayzing! It was soft and fresh and had a good representation of salt on it. It came with a cheese sauce and a mustard sauce. I didn't try the cheese sauce but the mustard sauce complemented the pretzel perfectly. The garden salad itself was nothing noteworthy. I did order it without the crouton so that may have added to it. But the blue cheese dressing gets an A+--it was creamy and on the thicker side with a good amount of blue cheese. For my entree, I got the salmon without the teriyaki sauce and subbed the sauteed hot bacon spinach for the rice. The salmon was cooked beautifully and came on a bed of onions peppers tomatoes that were delish. I was also happy with the sauteed bacon spinach. it had just a touch of tang. Our server, Cindy was fantabulous! She checked on us just the right amount and everything came out well spaced without long waits. This place is definitely on my must come back to list... It's really difficult to review this place. It's definitely a middle of the road type of restaurant. If you had nowhere else to go, I guess eat there, which is a terrible suggestion. You want to be excited about the food and experience you're consuming or why else go. The service staff is very good. If you need suggestions on meals, they are more than happy to provide assistance. They are attentive, which is always a plus. The food seems like it's trying too hard to be great. I ordered a Thai inspired pizza, but the ingredients didn't wow me. The only beef I have with the restaurant in terms of ambience is the lighting. Maybe it's the old lady and me talking, but it needs better lighting. read more

Food is expensive, staff inattentive, food substandard. For 2 salads and a Philly cheese steak, and an order of 5 potato skins, we paid $89 (including tip). We didn't even get drinks- we all drank water. The Caesar salad dressing was disgusting and watery, and the salads were on the small side for being $18 each. The Philly cheesesteak was uneventful I got a very small serving of fries as my side. The potato skins were overdone too, and not very flavorful. For how expensive this place is- there is no dress code for the waiters besides 'wear black', they had short shorts and crocs on with an oversized sweatshirt. Our waiter only checked in with us once, and took forever to come over and get our order. We went at 7:45pm-ish, and sat there for 15 minutes before a waiter came, and around us, staff was doing pre-closing (murphy's closes at 11pm???). read more

We had a fantastic time at Murphys! We called a few days ahead and asked if we could use their space to hold a holiday party. They easily accommodated us in their party area. We had 40 people in our group, all separate checks, and the wait staff were INCREDIBLE! They graciously added more tables and chairs as needed and everyone said their food was so good...the cocktails/wine/craft beer choices were awesome as well. 10/10 would recommend! They have decent food and the service was great. HOWEVER this owner is off his rocker with his whiskey prices. I ordered a pour of whiskey that cost $40 a bottle at Meijer. In most bars that's $9 or $10 request. I got the bill and it was $19.50! I complained and the server agreed. They said "yup our prices for whiskey are ridiculous". The server was nice enough to ask a manager who justified it by saying their pours are bigger than others. I didn't ask for a large pour or a double! You essentially stole it from me. The most expensive steakhouses in town don't charge these prices for that product! It's an arrogant, self centered approach from the owner. The end result? They win the battle and lose the war. I'm across the street now and I'm ready for some food - but I will now refuse to go to Murphy. What's next? Oh our $28 burgers have two patties instead of one! It egregious. Wow. What a great surprise. We stopped in for dinner but didn't know what to expect. The decor is warm and comfortable. The server (Cindy) was awesome. The pretzels were hot and soft with a generous amount of salt. The queso dip and the mustard were very good. We had a grilled chicken breast and grilled salmon.
