Way off the beaten path and mostly catering to Saddlebrook residents you'll find this hideaway restaurant where the view is spectacular! Facing East and looking at the Catalina mountains every table including the patio area had a beautiful view of the mountains. My Mom and fiancé both got the filet mignon which they enjoyed and I got the chimichurri ribeye which was good but the chimichurri was very over powering and didn't compliment the ribeye. Omg this place is for customers 70+ . Food expensive and cooked to the point where you don't have to chew anymore. Shocked to see when served it was covered by one of those plastic covers you only see in hospitals over food. Filet mignon for $38 a joke. It was about 1/4 inch thick and well overdone. The service was excellent. The food was not fine dining. Made reservations and was asked if it was a special occasion. Stated it was a birthday. No acknowledgement at all. Ordered Filet and Ribeye. The stake was flavorful but way on the small side. Filet seemed more like 2 oz filet and the ribeye was barely 1" thick. Had a loaded baked potato that we had to load ourself. The veggie potions were extremely large compared to the steak portions.Our final bill was over 200.00 for two. More like going to Texas Steakhouse but way more costly. Six of us had dinner at the Preserve on Valentine's Day (2/14/24) at 4:30pm. The menu was prix fixe, and we all had the fillet with crab stuffed shrimp; the meal was absolutely delicious. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly and dining early on a popular day was the right call. Neither the wait staff nor the cooks were pressured, and everything was delivered in an excellent manner. A solid 4+ star restaurant; highly recommended and we will return. read more

Came here for dinner on a Sunday after a long hard day of shopping. We arrived about 6pm and were not even sure it was open. But it was and it was empty. We got a semi- round booth for 5, and settled in. The martinis were classic and served nice and cold. Loved the sourdough rolls and butter too. I ordered a caesar salad and the appetizer of mini beef wellingtons as an entrée. That was the perfect amount of food, and one of the best caesar salads I have had in a while. My man had the bucatini with sausage. Bucatini is hard to eat (hollow spaghetti) it just makes a mess. Also the sausage was in slices when it would have been better in de-cased chunks. However there was a nice dollop of mascarpone (I think) on top which made fir a lovely presentation. Lay breadcrumbs when you head to the Ladies room, it is a maze in that place! read more

Service was outstanding. Food is not fine dining quality. Steaks are very small and thin but were cooked perfectly and sauces very good. Sides were very disappointing. Vegetables full of peppers as filler for less than one carrot thinly sliced. Peppers dominated flavor on whole plate. Mashed potatoes served via an ice cream scoop full of peppers and maybe some other chopped stuff, couldn't even tell. Did not at all compliment a filet mignon in a red demi sauce. What happened to scalloped or augratin potatoes with tri color carrots or asparagus ... simple, classic and elegant. Shrimp appetizer was extremely disappointing; very poor quality frozen fried shrimp served with firecracker sauce ... since sauce was so strong you couldn't taste shrimp which was a good thing. Unless you live at Saddlebrook, this place is a little far out, but it's worth visiting. Excellent food and service, and the few times that I've been there, not busy. Beautiful view of the Catalina mountains, especially around sunset. Only offered on Friday and Saturday, I went with the prime rib. As you can see from the picture, a generous portion, and perfectly cooked. We started with Escargot which was delicious and I had clam chowder. read more

the Preserve disappointed our group of three for this evening's meal. The table provided a lovely view of the valley and eastern mountain range. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. The wait staff we're friendly but when the main meal was attempted to be served to the table prior to our appetizers being finished the atmosphere changed Although we were a 6.30 booking it appeared that the main focus was the clearing of tables and the going home of the wait staff. The actual meals, 2 roast duck and 1 ribeye steak, were pleasantly presented and tasty. All in all an evening spoiled by poor wait protocol, I will not attend The Preserve again and will take my custom to the Mountainview restaurant, also within the Saddlebrook complex. read more

Me and my friends shared 3 different dishes and they were all spectacular! I had the Parmesan crusted halibut, one had the filet, and the other had the sausage spaghetti. My favorite meal I've had in the oro valley area. Also great views. Can't wait to go back!! read more

I went to The Preserve, in SaddleBrooke, for two separate LUNCHES within 2/16/23-2/19/23. The scenery is stunning. The restaurant and wait staff are very good. The LUNCH menu was disappointing. On 2/16 the turkey, Brie and cranberry sandwich was mediocre. The fries were soggy...and I ordered "extra crispy". On 2/19, I ordered the taco salad...what a disaster! The taco shell was the best part. There was a smear of refried beans, then chopped romaine lettuce, sparse chopped chicken, a few chopped pale tomatoes. Not the usual shredded lettuce, meat, olives, cheeses, etc. The wait staff had disappeared so I started eating. should have sent it back but my lunch partner was already eating. This restaurant's food has GREATLY DECLINED...at least for lunch! read more

Had lunch there this past week with my husband and my 2 young kids. We had a lovely experience. It is breathtaking! The view is gorgeous! The atmosphere is elegant and soothing and the Frank Sinatra playing overhead was great! The menu is small but everything is prepared to perfection and they are willing to make any accommodations you need. The service was impeccable. I loved that our server (forgot his name) young man with blonde brown hair and an accent, made sure my kids needed were tended to. He rattled of several items not on the menu that would be child friendly and expressed he could modify any. My husband had the fish and chips and can I just say that I hate all fish and my husband made me try it because he thought it was so good and I reluctantly tried it and it was phenomenal! The fish was light and flaky and the beer batter was delicious! I had the Pasta Carbonara and there were so many layers of flavor. As I bit into each, the flavors changed and hit new notes! I love it! My son had the burger and it came with a mountain of thin onion rings that he devoured. He added bacon to it and was raving that it was the best burger ever! The Cobb salad was huge! And I got the half order! Great portions, great ambiance, and I loved that the hostess came to check on us. Sweet, petite blonde woman with lovely lashes! First, this is attractive restaurant with great view of the Catalina mountains. The menu and food is just very so so. Menu is somewhat limited which tries to cover the main protein areas. The food,in my opinion, is below par for the prices charged. I would recommend a broadening of menu selection and more careful selection of items chosen to serve. read more

Beautiful building, great setting, great service, but unfortunately I wasn't that impressed with the food. At first I was going to get the street tacos, but then changed my mind and ordered the salmon cakes after I was assured by the waitress that the portion was generous enough to make a nice lunch. It really wasn't. The two salmon cakes were relatively small and the rest of the plate was made up of greens with a fairly ordinary blue cheese dressing. The waitress did bring some rolls quite some time after the food arrived. The person next to me got the street tacos, and I was glad that I didn't order those because they really didn't look that appealing either. We were a group of 12 and I didn't hear anyone even mention the food being good. The hamburgers looked like the best bet. read more
