Erika, the owner, is very responsive, knowledgeable and open. We initially met her at a dog park so that our puppy could meet her, her pack and some of the dogs in her daycare. We had never taken our puppy to a dog park and were quite nervous, but she gave us tips and feedback that were helpful. After 30 minutes, we felt confident that he would be well cared for and in the right environment for a high energy puppy like ours to get the mental and physical stimulation he needs. During his stay, I shared with Erika that I was having separation anxiety, and she kindly shared various videos, provided updates and assured me that he was doing well. When we picked him up, he turned back to look at Erika with such appreciation and care that we knew he'd had a blast and felt safe with her. If you are looking for a caring, happy and fun-filled place to leave your beloved pet, The Pawhouse Estate is the perfect location. She brought a small tan French bulldog with a birthmark on its hind leg that was pinned to the ground and attacked by a medium sized boxer. We have used Andy's in Eagle Rock to have Emi's nails trimmed and wanted to try for grooming. The glendale location is the only store open on Sundays so we booked an appointment first thing. We arrived and our dog made conversation with others (dogs) while we filled out her paper work and left her. They told us around 11-12pm and yup right at 12pm we got a call she was ready. We let her grow her coat out a bit for winter but with her poodle-briche frise coat she tends to mat no matter how much I comb her out she'll just turn around and get it all tangled up again, Emi is very much a toddler. They told us she would have to go very clean, I mean very. I was not expecting near bald and that we where charged double the cost of $70ish dollars. We also noticed she had 4 nixs on her which of course upset me but no blood was drawn and she didn't seem to be in pain. My husband and I have decided to go again once her coat is longer and if there's no problems in our pockets or Emi we will make the switch.

Just a quick note on grooming -- They only lost one star because the grooming wasn't entirely up to our standards. After our grooming visit, our dog experienced some temporary skin irritation on her back - possibly from dryer burns, hard brushing or just an allergic reaction to a shampoo used. Also, her hindquarters were clipped awkwardly, although that one may have been my fault for being unspecific in my request. Our dog and cat seemed like they were well taken care of on all the occasions we left them in this company's care. It was clear that our dog loved them. Our cat is sort of a snob, so who knows what he's thinking, but he did seem as content as usual when we got home. Tammy was our main sitter/walker there and our normally shy dog adored her & her little dog. Sometimes we'd run into them in the neighborhood and Star would get super excited to say hello. That says a lot! Also, the company was great about communication, before-during-after, provided easy billing, set up easy key exchanges and they were always pleasant & gracious. It was also nice that our home was always clean when we got home and everything was in its proper place. We recommend their petsitting & dogwalking services to others in Glendale. My dog greets the staff as enthusiastically as family. I scheduled a grooming appointment expecting the groomer might be able to partially wash him if they're lucky since the veterinary office suggested we give him a sedative before the next visit. The staff assured me that the groomer is very patient and good with active, reluctant dogs. The grooming was completed beautifully without incident.
