This is my dog's home away from home. I typically work from home, so my pup is pretty attached to me. But her tail starts wagging as soon as she sees the daycare, and once we arrive to the door, she's barking, ready to go in. I trust all the staff with my pup, and don't intend to ever leave. I once found myself unexpectedly in the ER and the employees took it upon themselves to make sure she was fed. Peace of mind and knowing your dog is happy while away from you is priceless. We've been taking Lola here for about 2 years and never had a single problem. The dogs are separated in size, but my pitty gets along with all of them! Sometimes she's a little dirty and her feet get really filthy but we just wash them off when we get home. It's not really that big of a deal. The whole crew is so helpful. read more

I am writing this with a heavy heart. I am extremely disappointed with Glendale Pet resort. Our dog has been here several times and came back and acted normally. However, we were on a trip and left our dog in their care. Our dog had energy, and was eating as normal. When we picked her up, she was lethargic, and not excited to see us which was abnormal. She had no appetite, and was breathing heavily. Exactly 2 days after we had picked her up from Glendale Pet Resort, our beloved dog passed away. I am not sure exactly what happened at this boarding while our dog was in their care, but for this to happen so quickly when our dog was thriving and healthy before she arrived does not make any sense. I would hate for this to happen to other dog owners so I felt like I had to express what had happened. read more

Between work trips and my daughter's sports schedule, we often have to make weekend trips that sometimes come on short notice, and we can always trust Glendale Pet Resort with our not-so-little guy, Rupert. He can sense when we are going away for the weekend with the packing and preparation and he knows he gets to go to his "hotel" and gets extremely excited. When we arrive, it's all we can do to keep him from sprinting to see his friends. The prices are reasonable, the care is great, the team is friendly and judging by Rupert's reaction, they take great care of him. read more

This review is written about 9 months after the incident, as we are to this day (May 2023) dealing with the medical repercussions of our dog's stay at Glendale Pet Resort in August of 2022. On 8/11/22, we entrusted our healthy dog George to Glendale Pet Resort for a four-night stay. When we picked him up on 8/15, he was brought out to us limping, completely unable to put weight on his left hind leg. The staff and owner did not have a definitive explanation for how or when this injury occurred while he was left under their supervision, and we were never notified of an injury until he was brought out. No first aid was provided. Little to no concern was shown for George or us regarding this injury. They even charged us in full, and we were only refunded after returning to speak to the owner. The owner guessed that our dog's humping behavior (??) was the possible cause of George's injury, because again, they do not know exactly how or when the injury occurred and did not provide camera surveillance to us if it was even available. After booking an emergency veterinarian appointment that same day, the vet determined that George ruptured his achilles' tendon while at Glendale Pet Resort. The vet expressed that this is often a traumatic injury. George had to undergo multiple surgeries as a result, along with weekly vet visits to change the splint and bandages for 5 months following. Now 9 months later, he still cannot walk or stand on his injured leg. We reached out to Glendale Pet Resort requesting to work with their insurance for a claim. Our email actually received a bounceback due to a full mailbox, yet somehow a few days later, an insurance agent called us. Our claim with their insurance was then denied, citing Glendale Pet Resort's liability waiver and making an un-cited assertion that these injuries are "chronic and degenerative in nature." George has never had an injury requiring surgery in the entire 9+ years he's been in our care prior, and our vet disagreed with this assessment. Ultimately, George's injury sustained at Glendale Pet Resort resulted in months of physical strain on him, and extreme time, financial, and emotional strain on us as we care for and worry for him. Our vet bills to-date for treating this injury are well into thousands of dollars and still counting. We went every week for five months to the vet hospital for bandage changes and post-op exams, taking time out of work. He has an appointment even today because he still can't walk or stand on the injured leg. George needs to be carried up and down our stairs daily, and can only take short, slow walks where he once loved to be outside. His mobility and quality of life will likely never be the same after those four nights at Glendale Pet Resort. I share our experience in case you, like me, were looking at Yelp reviews to gauge where to entrust your four-legged family member while you're out of town. I hope you consider your ability to handle these potential consequences of leaving your loved one with a pet "resort" that could not tell us exactly how our pet was injured. A "resort" who also has an indemnity waiver in their contract, allowing them to absolve themselves of all responsibility in the event of an injury to your pet, and everything that comes after. read more

I have taken my baby here several times with no problems, he was always happy when we pulled up and eager to play with his friends. They always call him by name when we come in and tell me he is such a good boy and they never have any problems with him. After this last trip I would have to warn people away. When I picked up my pup, one of the women (I don't recall seeing here there before) asked if anyone had called me, I said no, but I called in and no one told me there were any problems. They said he can't come back anymore. I asked why and they said he whined. When I dropped him off I reminded them that he was almost completely deaf and when you go out of his sight he has started to get anxious because of his loss of hearing. They told me it wouldn't be a problem, he could stay up front with the small dogs etc. I left them some melatonin so if he got anxious. They told me when he would whine they put him in an area with tall walls around, he couldn't see or hear anyone and the melatonin didn't work. I gave them enough for 2 a day during my trip. He came home with only a couple missing. My dog has always been the best dog with no problems. His legs were dirty, I figured he was playing somewhere that was wet. We got in the car and my pup was covered in urine. I have to board my dog several times a year due to work and I have never had him come home covered in pee. Did they just put him in a crate and let him sit in his urine? My dog cried the whole way home, which he has never done when we have taken him there. I will never know what really happened. I just want to warn everyone to really investigate carefully who you have watch your pet. read more

If you ask my dog how many stars she would give GPR- she'd probably give it a 10! Lula loves going here! We used to live really close by so we would drop her off for day care sometimes or for boarding when we were out of state. I believe if your dog has never been here, you have to let them come for day care first to see if they get along with other dogs. I may be wrong lmao but I think that's what we did! Lula literally bounces with excitement and once she gets to the door and she is let in ... she's off! Doesn't even say bye!!! They let dogs run around and they have different rooms as well. I believe they are also paired by energy levels and ours is insanely high. I think I met the owner before and have also spoke to him on the phone. Really nice guy. He showed me a little bit of the property. Usually my s/o is the one dropping off and picking up our dog. We've moved away but still drive here to board our dog if we are going away or just want her to have some social interaction lol. Our dog is stinky cause yenno dogs... and she doesn't like baths so if your dog is or isn't stinky- they will probably get some spray when they are here to make them smell a little better. We do notice that sometimes after 7 nights boarding she will have some poop stuck on her bum cause I'm not there to wipe it so hopefully you don't have a very sensitive dog who can't tolerate that. We usually force our dog to bathe after an extended stay. These are the only cons and that's not too bad at all!! I've read some awful things on other doggie daycares which is why I still return here. Also our dog has never gotten into any type of fight which i can't say was true when we boarded her at our previous daycare back in the east coast which locked the dogs up in kennels and took turns going out to play. This was a relief when we found GPR. read more

Since our 15 month corgi recovered from being neutered, we started bringing our little guy to Glendale Pet Resort for about 5 weeks now. Eppy & staff have been great and make a lot great suggestions. Our corgi is pretty high energy but also very friendly/affectionate and the GPR staff had to check out our pups temperament first to see how he would do in his first day with other dogs and our pup passed! So this tells you, GPR just doesn't accept any dog. It's good to know GPR takes these kind of precautions. And now that our little guy has been coming regularly to daycare, we noticed a big positive difference especially in socialization. We just moved to the Glendale area and this place might be one of my favorite parts of living here. Not only do Epi and his team take great care of Baxter (our miniature schnauzer), he's also an excellent trainer! Before we moved to our new building, Baxter had really terrible separation anxiety. He'd bark non stop every time my fiancée and I left the apartment. Because of this we got a few complaints at our last apartment so we were determined to find a fix. Epi came over and in just 1 lesson we saw major improvements in just one week and after the second week, the behavior has completely disappeared. We now feel comfortably leaving him alone at home knowing he won't be bothering any of our neighbors! read more

I am a genuine fan of this pet resort. I love how caring & attentive the staff is about the animals that are boarded here. Epi is not only a nice guy but you can tell he cares about being impressionable to his clients to ensure that their animals, (in my case my dogdaughter) are safe and well looked after!! Some days we will drop our beloved Kaya here for the day when we know we will be running errands, and we have also boarded her for a few nights. (Apparently she is energetic and tries to go from room to room with all the dogs! haha) The great thing about this place is that there are NO cages/kennels but rooms and a back area for them to run around in. There is always a staff member there 24/7 (which I love) and Epi once expressed that the staff members sometimes cuddle up with whoever wants to show some love to them!! Not only are they caring but the rates are for sure reasonable! My one hope/request would be to have a live stream of some sort so we could phone in and see our babe if we are away. Lulu my youngest is literally annoying at home now. Every morning waking up eagerly excited that today will be a day that she gets to be with her "pack", and if not, she's like a sad loaf full of misery and resentment all day. My oldest, Peanut, is blind and deaf ( I suspect selectively so) and I fully trust the wonderful staff to care for him as if he was their own. I board my 2 dogs here whenever I go out of town and one of my dogs occasionally goes to daycare. I save the daycare trips for when I need her to be super tired because she always has a good time and is exhausted when I pick her up (I think she's disappointed to be leaving when I come to get her.) Wonderful staff, clean facilities, lots of room for the dogs. And cage-free! I love that they group the dogs together by energy level so my high-energy dog has similar high-energy buddies to wear her out. And they keep my 2 dogs together when they're both there overnight. Very accommodating as well...always been able to take my dogs for boarding when I needed it and they were understanding when I got stuck out of town and had to leave them there an extra night. If I'm gone for several days I call to check in and they always give me updates which is great. I don't know what that one negative review below is talking about. Everyone is friendly, professional, and great with the dogs. I got a tour the first time I went there and everything looked clean and safe. I've recommended this place to several people and they always tell me what positive experiences they had and how great Epi is. read more

I have two mixed breed terriers, very active and affectionate and used to being with me all day, since I work for myself. They are the love of my life! But, there are times I need to meet with clients or travel, and I need a good place for overnight boarding and doggie daycare. I seem to have found it in Glendale Pet Resort. I like the fact that it's cage-free. The dogs are free to roam about in whatever room they are in at the time. (Small dogs and big dogs are always separated, which I like.) There's a large room in the back of the facility, with an agility course. The dogs sleep on small cots, again, in their respective (small dog or big dog) rooms. And there's always someone on site. (Yes, someone sleeps there!) Eppie (the owner) is a professional dog trainer. He seems to love dogs and understand their behavior. I appreciate the fact that he and his staff are so observant -- pointing out small things about my dogs' behavior or health (like the formation of a new hot spot). I can honestly say that no other facility has done the same. I also love the fact that Eppie gives client's his cell number and encourages them to call "any time". I really get the feeling that he loves dogs. And since I'm trusting him with my babies, that's incredibly important to me. I checked out other facilities in the area. Some with really cute names (and much higher fees). I checked them out because, on the web, they looked great. And who doesn't want the best for their pets? But when I took the tours, they seemed like glorified cattle pens -- way too many dogs in too small a space. And the staff didn't seem to like dogs. Or maybe they just didn't "take" to my dogs? (Weird.) I walked away thinking that they were just money-mills -- not a loving place for my dog while I'm away. The only thing I don't like about Glendale Pet Resort is that it's on San Fernando, close to the street and traffic is super busy. But they always keep the front door locked and don't unlock it without the dogs safely on leashes. For an extra measure of safety, people coming in off the street need to be buzzed in. (In other words: the door to San Fernando can't open unexpectedly.) There's parking right out front. But I always park on one of the quiet side streets so I'm not stressed while getting the dogs into and out of my car. read more

Glendale Per Resort is awesome. Our dog loves coming here. When we first arrived, the owner spotted some unusual behavior in our dog and sure enough he started acting up 6 months later. We hired Epi, the owner, for dog training and it has been so worth it. We are kicking ourselves in the butt for not starting sooner. Epi trains police dogs all over the world so we knew we were getting someone skilled. We are currently still going through training but our dog has taken a 180 in obedience. read more

Our two cocker spaniels love going to Glendale Pet Resort. Epi and his staff are great! They rotate the dogs inside and outside frequently, sorted into groups by energy level. Even though our dogs seem small, they love playing with the big dogs. The pups always come home happy and tired at the end of the day. We've also used them for boarding, which was excellent. I feel totally secure about leaving the dogs there overnight, knowing that someone (often Epi) is there overnight. My only wish is that they would post photos of the dogs during the day, or have a webcam set up for us to watch our pups at play. On the other hand, they are the best combination of price and quality that I've found. read more

The staff isn't the most formal when you arrive. When I've taken my dog in before work for the day care, the owner comes out and takes my dog in so I've never spent more than a minute dropping him off (except the first time when I filled out 5 minutes worth of paperwork). Honestly, I don't mind how casual they are. The first time I went in, I called after an hour to discover my puppy was socializing well. He had some initial fear. I took my dog in once a week and now he gets along with other dogs great. No fear and no aggression. I've made the mistake of not socializing dogs I've had before while they were young, and I'm so happy to have a dog who is happy, healthy, and spoiled rotten. My dog ALWAYS walks out with his tail wagging. He comes home completely exhausted from playing so hard. I love that Glendale Pet Resort is affordable and the staff is really friendly. They tell me the kind of things my dog did for the day. I'm impressed by how well they know the dogs that come in. After a long day of work, it's nice to know that I can pick up my dog from day care and he's just as worn out as I am. Although I'm sure he probably had way more fun than me during the day. If I could afford it, my dog would go there everyday. read more

I have done both boarding and day care. The thing that strikes you when you enter the secure location is the noise of joyful happy dogs. Dogs who are happy to be there. My little rescue dog is happy to visit. She is small but hangs with the big and little dogs along with the staff in the office. It is all about the happiness of your dogs. My interaction with Epi and the staff has been friendly and informative with ALL of my questions answered. Something I have not seen in other dog places. So glad that I found this place! I have a 5 mo old puppy who is loving the socialization. Epi and the staff made sure that he (and I!) felt comfortable by introducing him to one dog at a time in his first visit. By the end of that first day, Poppyberry was sniffing all the butts. I love having a place where he feels confident and gets to play so well. Yeah, it's not fancy, but my dog loves grass, mud and smelling poop, so he does not need fancy. Kind, compassionate staff, a clean environment, and every dog is vetted before you're allowed to bring them a 2nd time, so the dogs he's playing with are teaching him manners too! read more
