My dog Scully loves getting groomed with Andy. They have a very friendly and patient staff.

First review for my sweet girl Emi our family dog. We currently use the big name brand pet store for our dog's grooming needs but we decided to see if we use a non big chain store will it make a difference for our dog who suffers from separation anxiety. We have used Andy's in Eagle Rock to have Emi's nails trimmed and wanted to try for grooming. The glendale location is the only store open on Sundays so we booked an appointment first thing. We arrived and our dog made conversation with others (dogs) while we filled out her paper work and left her. They told us around 11-12pm and yup right at 12pm we got a call she was ready. We let her grow her coat out a bit for winter but with her poodle-briche frise coat she tends to mat no matter how much I comb her out she'll just turn around and get it all tangled up again, Emi is very much a toddler. They told us she would have to go very clean, I mean very. I was not expecting near bald and that we where charged double the cost of $70ish dollars. We also noticed she had 4 nixs on her which of course upset me but no blood was drawn and she didn't seem to be in pain. My husband and I have decided to go again once her coat is longer and if there's no problems in our pockets or Emi we will make the switch. read more

Updated Review - Very Disappointed I originally left a great review, but after two visits, I can't stay silent. The first time, my Maltipoo came back with a bleeding belly, and the owner blamed it on chicken. Against my better judgment, I gave them another chance. After the second visit, my dog developed severe eye discharge within minutes of leaving. It kept getting worse, and I had to buy sterile drops -- now possibly facing a vet visit. Again, the owner blamed chicken. On top of that, I was pressured to leave a positive review before seeing how she was doing. I'm deeply disappointed. Called for a walk in appointment and was able to bring in 2 of my dogs, a maltipoo and shih poo here on a Wednesday morning an hour after they opened. The owner there is super nice and very knowledgeable about pet health. The shop has its own parking in the back so try not to pull up to the front of the store because it's all a red zone! The cut was actually more of a gash and it didn't heal even after a week. We ended up taking her to a vet. We were surprised to find out the cut was deeper than we thought. The vet was very surprised as well and insisted that this was probably done with scissors not from an electric razor. And they think that the groomer tried to fix the cut themselves to make it less obvious. They ended up stapling the cut and antibiotics were provided. We warn pet owners to stay away from this place. read more

I came here a couple of months ago and had a decent experience with my cat. I ended up recommending this place to my mom and she brought her cats there yesterday morning. One of her cats came back very injured. He has several nails that were cut practically to the nerve. In addition, he is super tender in his abdomen on one of his sides. It's almost like he was either hit/ beat, or he maybe he fell from a high area. Who knows. Regardless, negligence. Now, he can barely walk and is clearly in a lot of pain. He won't even let us touch him on that side. Note that he was NOT behaving like this before they dropped him off. I am just super disappointed and I feel SO guilty about recommending this place. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!! They are very clearly mistreating animals REGULARLY- proven time and time again by so many terrifying reviews I am only now discovering. My tiny sweet docile cat Teddie went in for a simple bath and came back in terrible shape. Blood and bruises around his mouth, unable to open his eye, multiple nails cut SO short that they are almost nonexistent and bleeding, breathing weird and coughing, covered in pee. As someone who used to be a pet groomer there is NO excuse for this, especially for it to be such a regular occurrence. Mistakes happen and animals can be unruly at times, but people are receiving their pets back in horrific condition and the groomers do not even mention it and then try to downplay or cover up the issues once the owners discover the wounds. I had brought him here one time before the day we rescued him and had a decent experience + I saw so many good reviews, but did not scroll enough to see the 30+ other 1 star reviews of people saying the exact same thing, that their pet came back horribly beat up some of which even had to go to the emergency vet due to collapsed lungs, huge deep gashes, infections, and other terrible things that the groomers didn't even mention. Someone's healthy dog even died in their care and they refused to provide the CCTV footage. I am absolutely disgusted and feel sick to my stomach with guilt that I brought my baby here and put him through something that was obviously traumatizing physically and mentally for hours. The owner here acts VERY nice- overly nice, which I think honestly is him trying to overcompensate for doing shady things. I called to ask why Teddie isn't able to open his eye to see if something happened (this is before I noticed the other things) and he brushed it off as shampoo sensitivity and told me to buy eye drops, which seemed understandable and made sense (this does happen sometimes when you bathe an animal), however after seeing what they've done to other animals + seeing his bloody mouth it does make me feel that something more happened. When we picked him up he also tried to say he might have fleas to upsell a product which after reading the other reviews everyone else says the same thing even though their pet obviously doesn't have fleas, he is just trying to scare and upsell them. That is the least of my worries but just speaks to the shadiness of this place. On top of that they also had him sitting in a pee soaked towel for hours after his bath so he is covered in his own pee, wounds multiple places, nails cut so improperly that they are bloody and almost gone, and his demeanor just does not seem normal. Teddie is a 6lb very well behaved cat- he doesn't love baths obviously but absolutely nothing should warrant him coming back in this state. At first I tried to reason with myself and believe him that his eye was just irritated from shampoo, but once I noticed the bleeding mouth and nails- and then read the copious amounts of other reviews of people receiving their pets back in horrible condition I knew something was not right. Even if only one of these things had happened to him- I would still need to share this and bring attention to other people's way more horrific experiences here. This literally just happened a few hours ago so I am closely monitoring him and am unsure how serious it is, but am very scared as so many other reviews state similar experiences that then progress into very serious issues that require emergency care. I couldn't wait one more second to write this knowing this place is still in business and obviously treating animals very very badly very regularly. Please PLEASE do not bring your baby here and PLEASE tell all of the pet owners you know to never go here. read more

We love Andy's! We found them two years ago and we go to their shop every few months since we bathe Gizmo ourselves. But when it's haircut time, we take him to Andy's. First off all, the customer service is incredible. Sweet receptionist, very thorough and efficient. I dropped him after months of not going and they already knew what to do with Gizmo's hair (they added it in their notes). Easy booking via phone call. They usually do oat shampoo but since they found fleas on him and gave him flea shampoo instead. I appreciate them doing that extra service for us! Also they did an anal gland expression and cut his nails which makes this grooming service extra important. He came back looking so good! We're very picky where Gizmo goes for grooming as he is a senior dog. They seem to handle with a lot of care and it's important that we don't stress him out. I worked hard to research the best price for a groomer for my brother's adorable puppy. We chose Andy's bc of the price, and made an appointment about a week out. We get there, and the person who came out from the back said we probably made our appointment with the other location. Doesn't really make sense bc I remember calling the Glendale location. Avoid Andy Pet Grooming Glendale at All Costs! I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Andy Pet Grooming in Glendale. From start to finish, it was clear that this business operates with zero integrity and absolutely no respect for its customers. I called ahead to confirm pricing for grooming my small Mini Schnauzer, only to be told flat-out that they don't honor their advertised prices. When I questioned this, Andy told me to bring my dog in so he could assess the situation in person. Fair enough--I gave him the benefit of the doubt. However, when I arrived, he once again refused to honor the prices he advertises. And when I tried to proceed and simply pay whatever he was asking (just to get my dog groomed and move on), he outright refused service and told me he wouldn't accept my dog. This isn't just bad customer service--it's manipulative and unprofessional behavior. Andy seems to have no problem wasting customers' time and energy with bait-and-switch tactics, only to turn them away if they don't immediately fall in line with his arbitrary pricing demands. My boyfriend and I got a rescue pup in December 2020 and we have never gone anywhere else! Our pup gets very anxious with people touching him, and though he's small, he does have a tendency to nip. Art, the owner, has been so understanding and he gets less nervous to go each time. We even started buying his food there, N&D, which is a grain free formula from Italy. Our pup loves the CBD treats they offer too! The shampoo they use makes his fur so soft and they always cut him the way we like! It is never too short and we've never had issues with cuts on him. They are usually pretty fast too. They have a big parking lot in the back which makes it easy to drop him off. We have never considered going anywhere else and would recommend it to anyone! Unfortunately, you never know what happens to your dog when you drop them off at groomers. To make a long story short, I dropped my dog off and he was fine, picked him up and his nose was bleeding and I found droplets of blood around the house. I called and informed the owner that I am taking him to the vet to see what's going on and asked for a refund. The owner got angry and defensive and would not own up to doing anything wrong.
