Trace watches our cat Pancake, and we text him when we were traveling, which makes it easy to schedule! Not once has Trace said he was unavailable, and he always finds time to make it work for us. He plays with Pancake, feeds her, cleans her litter, and sends us a pic too. He often goes the extra mile and snags our mail if he sees it. We always feel good about leaving Pancake in Trace's hands and never have to worry when we are out of town. Really thorough and friendly initial consult, but when observing the timestamps on our outdoor cameras, I was surprised to find our pet only received an average 5-10 minute visit. This has given me insight that I have to ask a pet sitter how long they plan on staying to complete their tasks. I didn't really anticipate having to ask such an experienced group that question. She was able to set me up with Iris for 2x day visits on fairly short notice, especially considering the holiday season. Iris was as kind, genuine and responsible as it gets. The consultation was great, she was very attentive, took notes and asked great questions. It was obvious she cared about getting everything right for Lola's sake. Despite Lola being shy during her consultation, she clearly warmed up to Iris during her first visit & I LOVED the picture updates throughout the week. When I got home everything was in excellent order. Litter boxes, food, water, treats etc. had been attended to perfectly. The best part was that Iris didn't just take care of Lola, she had fun with her too! We're admittedly overprotective dog owners--all of our friends make fun of us for it--and so we basically approached finding a dog walker like choosing a college. Meg was the clear winner, and now, a year later, it's easy to see why all of her clients were so enthusiastic, because we're right there with them. Our dog Eleanor loves meg--she gets excited & happy when she hears her voice. That's the most important thing. We've seen Meg walking dogs in the neighborhood and she's fantastic with them. Went on a 10-day international vacation with my "girlfriend" and left the cat behind, which filled me with sadness and inhibited my ability to enjoy our time in Portugal. My two friends were not trustworthy enough to show up every day for a week to visit our kitty, so we were forced to go to an outside source. Iris set up a time to do an "initial visit," which was basically meeting Svenwise Romhan and seeing the space and gathering all the necessary info. She was super responsive, sent pics every day during her visit, and made us feel more at ease being so far from our furry son. It was nice to have the same person visit every day, as I felt like we established a relationship instead of just some random person popping in for a half hour each day. Dylan is awesome!!!! I found this place through yelp when i was searching for a pet sitter to sit for our dogs while our family went away for a few days. I called this place due to the reviews and also a few others. Since i was looking for a sitter that would be available for Christmas, I knew it was going to be hard to find one. Most places i called said they didn't have sitters that worked my area. I called Meg and left her a message and she called me back within hours and confirmed availability with Dylan. I was a little nervous since we have never used a sitter before and we would be leaving the keys to our house with a stranger but as soon as our family met Dylan, we right away could tell that he was trustworthy and honest. He just gives out a good vibe. Dylan met our 3 pitbulls and we scheduled about 3 more visits before we left for vacation. Dylan was great about calling us with updates and sending us pictures and texts. He's a very responsible and respectful. He even talked to our dogs in Spanish since they're bilingual lol. OK, let's put it this way : I LOVE MY CAT. I love my Nhala in the way that I will love my child when I bear said baby one day in the far future. Until then my little girl is my cat. I spoil her, give her filtered water in her bowl (don't laugh, it makes her coat shiny), she gets bonito flakes for treats and in return I get the unconditional love of a sweet animal which for a single gal in this harsh world is a very special commodity. So what to do when I am going away for more than a few days? Who can I entrust to take care of my furball? Thankfully Eastside is around. I can't believe I haven't written a review until now! Meg has been visiting our Birdsworth for two years now. He was just a kitten when we found him and we already had a trip booked long before he was even born so we were very worried about leaving him alone so early on in our relationship. Meg proved to be just the friend he needed. When we returned, he was happy as ever because he got plenty of love from her. Even now, whenever Meg comes by to collect the key, a usual hider, Birdsworth comes out right away and meows hello. He's always happy to see her. Marnie, our latest addition is shy too, but she quickly warmed to Meg and they too became fast friends. We dote on our cats which makes it painful for us to leave them which we have to do often as we both travel a lot. Meg's visits always give us peace of mind and the daily photos are a real treat. I have two wonderful cats. One is a fluffball sweetheart. The other is Mr. High Maintenance, why are you paying attention to HER when you should be paying attention to ME. Seriously, does anyone know a good cat therapist? He has some issues to deal with. Anyway, I was going out of town for a few days and needed someone to check on them while I was gone. I found Eastside Petsitters on Yelp so I decided to go with them. Meg, the pet goddess, came by the night before I left and the cats loved her instantly. I knew I wouldn't have to worry. She even offered to text me updates while I was gone. I said I really wasn't concerned as long as they were alive when I came back. After I got back to town, Mr. High Maintenance wasn't as needy as he usually is, and they were both happy, healthy and still adorable. Does Eastside Pettsitters really need another five star review? Yes! We travel quite frequently, and Meg has been taking care of our two cats- one friendly, one rather hostile- for years now. Her text updates are so reliable, that last year when our plane landed in NC late at night and we had not received a text from her I realized (with horror) I had told her the wrong dates! It was after 8 PM pacific time, but she answered my call and was at our house within 90 minutes. That should earn a 6th star alone. Also worth noting, sometimes our neighbors chip in to take care of the kitties when we are away, and in those cases we end of giving Meg crazy schedules, e.g., come on monday, wed, fri AM, sat AM and PM, sun PM only, etc.- and it's never a problem. Def a plus that the plants are watered, mail is brought in and litter is swept up too. Yay! Highly and enthusiastically recommended. read more

I can't believe I hadn't reviewed Meg until now! Someone below described her as the pet-sitting goddess, and I couldn't agree more. I've recommended her to basically anyone who ever asks "sooo...what are you doing with the cats when you go out of town?" When I first asked Meg to watch my cat while I was going out of the country, she came over to my house to collect a spare key and start my file. She met my cat and took detailed notes on how to care for him - from his food, water and litter needs, which toys he likes, where he goes to the vet (in case of an emergency) any special needs he has, and any plants I'd like watered or any mail to be brought in. She has stopped by in person to update my file before I go out of town when there any any big changes - like a move, or when my boyfriend moved in with his cat, who she also watched. She's always left me a welcome home note with her invoice (and her text/emails of photos of the cat is pretty much the best thing ever!) and drops by the key when I'm back in town. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. I was VERY hesitant after I used another well-known petsitting company who had a ton of good reviews - but was very disappointing. So if you are reading this and are stuck between Eastside Petsitters and another place - look no further. Our go-to guy was Trace. He personally came to meet me and my fur babies, Stevie and Nesta. My pups are CRAZY and he was so patient and sweet with them. And talk about idiosyncrasies. They have about a million. Trace took notes and was very attentive with them. And he wasn't just the person who conducted the interview. He actually walks the dogs. Other companies send someone out who is competent and nice to make you feel reassured - but then they send different people to actually take care of your animals. Not so with Eastside Petsitters. Who you meet is who you get. Trace always made himself available on short notice, too. I am able to text him (sometimes the day of) if I need him to come. Finding someone who actually WANTS to come take care of your dogs and isn't distracted by the other jobs they wish they could be doing instead is rare. And let's face it - my dogs are my babies. And I love them no matter how many shoes they eat or times they fart on me. There was never a doubt in my mind that I could trust Trace with them. Every one of these reviews is exactly how I feel and how Meg took care of our cats. We have a 14 year old lover who will try to lick you to death, but also a rescue kitty who is really really shy. Meg came over to get the lay of the land, and the girls were both a bit shy. So she got to know the lay of the land and took copious notes and even asked questions about things we didn't even think about. She was also house sitting around the corner a dog, so she knew the area well. Well within two days of being away the emailed pictures were great. She came to actually play with them and got our little scared kitty to emerge from her hiding spot under the bed. And by the end of our trip Shadow was out and playing. We felt great and relieved as th trip went on. Meg is super courteous and thoughtful. She will definitely be the first call next trip. As both cats were in good happy moods when we got home. Let me start by saying I found both my dogs in the streets, a pit mix and a Shepard mix. This was 6 yrs ago and they have never been left alone in that time. My pitty can be very aggressive and doesn't like most strangers. I was very worried he might bite someone while I was gone and had major reserves on trusting anyone. My trip was a last minute with only a month advance to get everything lined up. I emailed Esps and received a response within minutes. The pricing was perfect so I set a time to meet with the walker and to take a walk with her to make sure she could handle them. ( they are both very large and strong) When Kajal showed up my dogs didn't show any aggression toward her and seemed to feel comfortable almost instantly. We took a walk and I showed her the commands and how I deal with aggressive behavior. She was perfect with them. I knew when I was gone they would probably not let her in the house. She stayed patient and won them over. Her communication while I was away was perfect and let me know immediately when my Pit who is a escape artist chewed a giant hole in the fence to get out. I asked she lock him in the house and of course he got out again. She handled it with my landlord after I spoke with them and made sure all was secure before leaving. Kajal gave them lots of love and massages and even watched out for my kitty who is very independent, but still gave him affection. Our usual pet sitter was unavailable to care for our three fur babies (including a diabetic who needs a daily insulin injection) for a last minute vacation, so we reached out to Eastside for service. Meg immediately responded and introduced us to Trace. He initially told us that we were outside of their working area but that they would be able to help us this time around for an extra fee. Both Meg and Trace were extremely fast to respond and willing to work around their busy schedules to fit us in for a consult. Ultimately, we didn't get a chance to meet or work with Trace for this vacation (my mother in law changed her work schedule for us to take care of them), but we are SO grateful for their flexibility and genuine care for our cats. I recently moved to the area and adopted a new cat, and was forced to go away on business after only a week and a half to get settled. Meg alleviated every concern I had during our initial consult visit. As soon as she arrived I could tell she was going to be a great fit. She has an immediate warmth about her that was obvious to both me and my kitty (Sasha Fierce). She asked thoughtful questions about Sasha's care plan and preferences, and took notes throughout the visit. I felt perfectly comfortable leaving her in charge for the week! This review is specifically for Trace, and its long overdue. Trace took care of our two cats (Teddy and Chloe) about half a dozen times last year. He was wonderful. When he came by the first time to meet my cats--one of whom can be a bit skittish--they instantly took to him. Three or so times my fiance and I decided to leave for a weekend on a whim, and Trace was always easy to get in touch with, and easy to arrange details about pet sitting with. I loved how Trace would text me updates each day, with pictures of my cats. I could tell from his sweet texts, and the notes that he would leave each time giving me updates about the cats, that he was genuinely caring towards our cats. I think it's always hard to leave your pets under that care of someone you don't know well, but with Trace I instantly felt like I could trust him to care for my cats as if they were his own. I appreciate Trace even more now that we have moved and have to use another pet sitter. We live in San Francisco now, and we left our cats under the care of another pet sitter while we were gone for Christmas. When we came back the cats were skittish and needy and the apartment smelled like they had expressed their hostility about being abandoned in random corners of our home. I don't know what Trace did differently, but whenever we returned after Trace had been caring for them, Teddy and Chloe were always content, calm and even a little bit blase about our return. Affordable. (I've realized all my good reviews have the word affordable in them...) We've had Trace and Iris walk our 2 little Goober Beans (Cocker Spaniels) when we're at work (1-3 times a week, 12 hour night shifts), they are willing to come late 10pm-12am. Which works out great since we walk them around 4-5pm when we leave for work and again in the am around 8 when we're getting back. I LOVE and appreciate that they always send us a picture and their output updates every time. I have worried about Gunner's inconsistent pooping from time to time so it's really great to get that info from them. The dogs are happy when we get back in the morning. Also, want to mention they are sooo flexible! Sometimes we get a late call from work and don't need a walker, we're able to get in touch that same night around 5-6 to cancel. There are never hidden fees or cancellation fees. Their prices are so straightforward and available online. They charge for their time, not the amount of pets you have. They're also willing to feed your pets too. I've heard Trace can even do IVs for pets. Very happy we found this service. read more
