Second, this place is also super professional and you can tell that they take great pride in the work that they do. From the moment that you drop-off, they are extremely thorough in making sure that they have the proper instructions for food and medication. What a wonderful place! My girl gets so fluffy during the winter time and hacks up hairballs so I try and get her shaved at least once a year. She's a spicy girl and does not like to be held or touched for too long, not even by me.. I've taken her to so many places but she always comes back with an uneven haircut and super stressed out. Not this time though! Her groomer did such a fabulous job and my kitty was so happy afterwards. Ever since being shaved she's been more playful and energetic. I really think her hair was weighing her down but I did not want to take her to the other cat place because they just seemed so careless and did such a bad shave job. Made an appointment about 3 weeks in advance. They reminded me of the day before by text and phone. They took care of putting soft paws on my two cats. I had them get creative and do rainbow colors because it's June. The cost was very reasonable for all four paws. At the grooming place attached to my Vet, the cost was double for just the front two paws. Nail clipping was included in the soft paws price (the vet charged extra for that). I used them in December to clean and groom my older cat, since she's older and doesnt self-groom any more. They did an amazing job of getting her clumps out, trim her nails, and clean her nether regions. I was told to bring her back in 3 months, and I went today, and the cost was less due to less issues with her fur. I recommend this place highly for cats that require more maintenance for their fur, especially if you live in the Studio City/Noho/Burbank area and need a close by groomer. Cats require someone more trained than a dog groomer due to claws and cats being more ornery. Also most dog groomers will not touch cats. Id say this place should be the first choice to go. They take a little more than an hour, and if you get a lunch time groom, you can kill time for lunch and then pick up your cat. read more

We've been coming to this place for almost 4 years now for two of our long haired kitties. We have recently moved around LA, and now live about an hour to an hour and half drive and still choose to only come here for our cats grooming. It is very clear that Cateau Marmont care so much about their customer's cats. When I had ran into an issue with ringworm (which I found out later that my cat received it from visiting his vet and not here), they were incredibly helpful when I was stressed and trying to figure out where he may have gotten it and reassured me that they keep this place spotless. They also went the extent to call up the other kitties that were brought in that day to confirm for me. They truly do care about our cats and are so thoughtful. It was important to me to take the cat to a kitty specialised grooming facility and handily, this place was local to me. We had a really good first time experience and, as the cat had never been groomed before, I was sure I'd have a spitting mad half groomed cat handed back to me. It couldn't have gone better! The cat's long haired and, after rarely having hairballs, it seemed to increase dramatically this year and after switching out food, decided perhaps it was best to get the newly minted seven year old "senior"' kitty a bath, blowout and brush. I got half a cat back and it was awesome! Apparently the cat was well behaved and tolerated everything thrown at her which is funny as I'm sure I wouldn't have had the same experience. Getting her in the carrier was hard enough! They even shaved out her little grinch paws and I got to see toe beans for the first time in ages lol! And after years of being told she was a domestic long hair despite looking like a fancy name kitty (adopted from a rescue who saves from Downey animal shelter), the groomer said her coat was that of a Himalayan Ragdoll ish breed so I guess she's a street kitty no more lol! I had wanted a Ragdoll type cat and she looks the part though I''m more adopt don't shop in that regard. Everyone was very nice and despite being a little mad at me, the cat was super sleek and soft and so much hair was removed I'm in awe. Highly recommend to all those nervous first timers! read more

I was super anxious about boarding my cat Freddie for the first time but I expressed my worries and Jenn helped answer all my questions over phone, email, text. UPDATE: The response below only further proves what I explained in my review. Part of owning a business is being able to accept that someone had a bad experience, yet I am continuing to be discounted. Unbelievable. I have a domestic short hair kitty who had been shedding a lot and causing my husband to become allergic. I contacted Cateau to see if getting him groomed could help remove some of the dander. I filled out their forms and spoke to a lady who got me all booked in. She explained there was a new groomer starting and they would call me when a space opened up. Fast forward to today, I got a call and brought him in for a bath. Drop off was fast and easy. Picking him up an hour later took some time. I had to wait for 15 mins outside. When I got him home I noticed he had blood on his paw. I was of course super upset and I immediately snapped a photo and emailed the business. The owner of the business called me and expressed there was a new groomer and she was very sorry about what happened. She went on to say that since it was his first time being groomed, he was scared and split his nail by clinging on out of fear. Here's the kicker... she then explained that I should never have brought my cat in to be groomed since he's a short hair. I asked, why on earth did you accept my booking then? Why was I allowed to bring him in if he should never have been groomed? She suggested I put him on a new food to stop the allergies. I am in complete shock.. was I just gaslighted? I was basically told that the injury was my fault for bringing him in the first place. I hung up in tears. $100 spent to bring home an injured cat. Just wow. Terrible. read more

My husband and I recently welcomed home a senior kitty with FIV, and while we were so excited to bring him in, we also had a trip planned. At first we considered leaving him at home and having someone come in and check on him occasionally, but that sounded like it would be so lonely for our old man who is used to having me around since I work from home. After extensive research I found Cateau Marmont and am excited to say that it was a great success. I called and wasn't able to reach anyone at first but Jan called me back immediately and was such a pleasure to coordinate with. She was incredibly detail oriented, patient, and personable. Since we're new clients she shared with me more information on what space we needed to book for our FIV+ guy, how to check in on him while we were away, etc. I actually had made an appointment ages before this to get our guy a bath/nail trim, and had been meaning to cancel it, but Jan called me to check in on it too. She said they typically don't do baths when cats are boarding because it erodes the trust the staff gains in working with them, which was a detail I really appreciated her sharing. She canceled the appointment for us quickly with no issues. When I arrived to drop him off, Holly at the front desk was incredibly friendly and excited to meet our kitty. She took down instructions on how to feed him and made sure we could say a sweet goodbye. I left his bed and blanket with Cateau so he could feel a little at home and Holly made sure to take care of those items for us. Our guy was in a room with a camera, so she also provided instructions on how to access the feed so we could check on him at our leisure. We checked on him periodically and he looked to be well taken care of. There were many shelves for him to climb, and in addition to our bed, they had another bed for him as well. I saw humans in the room a few times, so I know that he wasn't in isolation and received plenty of loving interaction. I also happened to see someone cleaning once, which was great reassurance. When I came to pick him up, the person who gave him to us said he was incredibly sweet and well behaved, which was a relief. When he came home it was clear he missed us, but I know he was in good hands. I look forward to bringing him back in next time we leave town! read more

Today I brought my cat 9yr old cat Oliver for the first time here at Cateau Marmont for his much-needed bath and grooming. We usually go to a different grooming place in Burbank but they have closed down that location. So after searching for a new grooming place I found this! After reading the reviews I was convinced this was the one. Their website was easy to navigate and making an appointment was super easy. I set up an appointment via text message (yay!) and they respond pretty fast. It was super easy, convenient and I definitely prefer it than phone calls lol. They even kept me updated via text during Oliver's appt. They made me choose between a male lion full mane or a female lion blended mane. I chose the female lion blended mane and it was perfect for Oliver. I like to have his face fur trimmed. He's super happy with his fresh cut! The lion cut service came with a bath and a nail trim. Oliver is a semi-outdoor cat so he does still get fleas, so they gave him flea treatment. They also clean his ears and notified me he has an ear infection. So we made a vet appointment as soon as we got home. I'm super happy with the service and the result! We'll definitely make this a regular visit for Oliver (and my other cat too!) I want to give a million stars to Cateau Marmont, Jen, Mac, Kirsten and all the other staffers. I have been boarding my two kids, Sammy and Sissy, there for several years and they always come home very happy with no issues. Last September, I was moving to Mexico and needed to board them for a month. Some days after I dropped them off, I got a call that Sissy had bitten Sam and the wound had gotten infected. They took him to their vet and Sam had to have surgery to clean the wound and insert several drains. For the next week or more, the staff at CM took care of Sammy's drains several times a day, took him back to the vet several times and generally pampered and loved him through his ordeal. They really went above and beyond what any other place would have done, I suspect. Kirsten has been giving my babies lion cuts for years and they are always so beautiful and fragrant and happy when I pick them up. I am so very grateful to the loving hearts who own and work at CM. We thought the name of this place was so cute. I don't know if things have changed but we couldn't watch our sweetie while we were be away on webcam and when I emailed them, I got kind of a stilted reply. When we went to pick up our cat, the lady there have us a pretty "restrained" summary- your cat was great, she kept to herself. I didn't think to much about it until we recently dropped off our cats at The Honky Cat Hotel which is further, smaller and cheaper than this place. The HCH had a webcam that we could log into at all times, they sent us pictures with updates when we wanted and like a week after we picked up our cats, we got random pics saying- your cats were so great, we miss them - with pictures we hadn't seen before of our cats exploring their space and being pet by the keepers It was a much more warm experience than we had at Cateau Mormont but CM is more expensive and provides more space for our cat (we only had one at the time). The facility is really nice and spacious. If you're looking for a nice facility that, I'm sure, takes fine care of your cat, then CM is your spot. If you're looking for cheaper, more of a ooey-gooey experience... This may not be the place. Good luck! read more

I am in utter DISBELIEF of how I was treated here by the OWNER. Beyond rude and inconsiderate!! READ THIS AND BEWARE: I brought my cat Luna in for a grooming here. When I dropped her off, they told me they would text me when she's done. They never gave a time slot for pickup or any details. I had two work events my company was sponsoring that day so I was working when I received the text I was 40 minutes away. They informed me that they didn't have a room available, but I said it was OK to keep her in the carrier since I was coming. My cat does 3-6 hour travel days with me on flights often so I know she would be fine. when I arrive, they tried to charge me for a room that they put her in even though I specifically said to keep her in her carrier. When I refused to pay the charge because I did not approve it, I was put on the phone with the owner. She started going off on me on the phone of how that's wrong and I need to pay and if I feel differently, I should take my business elsewhere! MIND YOU, I have been a loyal customer for 5 YEARS! I could not even believe what I was hearing!! I run two 7 figure companies and I could NEVER IMAGINE raising my voice and being rude to my loyal customers like that! The customer is always right! If you force me to pay a charge on something I didn't approve and then yell at me and tell me to not come back that is absolutely INSANE to me as a businesswoman. I have put up with their antics for too long. One time they told me they wouldn't send me photos of Luna and I had PAY for each photo of my own cat they were watching! She's come back with bloody paws, soiled herself and soaking wet on her bum, and I was even told once that I was not allowed to come get her that day and they held her overnight and charged me again even though I had an important appointment for her that day! Crazy!!! If They told me an exact time that I needed to be back to get her, it would've been fine. But sometimes it's one hour, sometimes it's three hours, so clearing my entire day is unrealistic based on my busy schedule. Another thing is seeing how the other negative review here was handled. The owner responds again making it the customers fault! All these excuses and no accountability for how she treated the customer. I can almost guarentee this will receive a response with 0 accountability, blame shifting, and gaslighting! I will NEVER EVER support this business again with the person running it being so RUDE and having extremely POOR customer relation skills. She's lucky her techs are sweet otherwise there would be NOOO WAAAYYYY this place would still be in business!!! If one of my customers complains, I appease them. Yet this woman yelled and me and essentially told me to F off! Because of a charge I DIDNT approve!! AND I still had to pay it!!!!!! This place is already super overpriced it's just crazy to me. Took excellent care of my two little fur babies. Was unable to go inside the cat area due to COVID restrictions, but it looked amazing from the check-in area. Had my kitties in a bungalow which had a webcam so I could look in on them periodically which was a treat. For some reason the web cameras are only accessible from like 7am-7pm which is when cats are mostly sleeping, but perhaps they don't have night vision making the option moot. All in all, very nice place to board your babies with the highest quality standards. read more

I'm a bit of a helicopter cat parent as I lost my much loved kitten early this year. I am so pleased, grateful, thrilled to have found Jen & her staff. I needed to leave my 5 mo old kitten while I traveled 4 nights. The big play room is fun, safe has 5 star activity opportunities for your "kid" The staff know cats & like them, Lulu was smitten!!! Lulu was checked into her bungalow, then I got to go say goodbye, she was completely comfortable gave me a nose bump kiss she was not rattled at all. Finding a cat groomer is hard but finding a GOOD/GREAT cat groomer is like finding a needle in a haystack. Therefore when I found Cateau Marmont I was skeptical & before I made the appointments I did some researched, read reviews & asked some questions to give me an idea of their services. When finally felt comfortable I made two appointments. One for my Maine Coon Tabby mix (Frankie) and the other for my Russia Blue Tabby mix (Midnight). Frankie has been at other groomers so I knew she will not be a problem but Midnight has never been to a groomer and this will be his first time away from home. When I arrived at the facility I was received with the most caring and well knowable person, Kirsten, she totally made me feel comfortable and gave am a sense of security that my babies would be in good hands. Kirsten took the time to answered all of my questions and explained how she was going to work with both of them. She make sure I knew that Midnight was going to be first to avoid unnecessary stress. When I arrived to pick them up Kirsten was there, she handed them to me and explained that it might be some hissing since they will not recognize their essence. Oh, might if she was right, therefore I am grateful because that helped me to understand their behavior and keep an eye on the situation. Overall. the place is clean, they do take you by appointment and they are punctual to the second, but overall, they truly seem to love and care for the well being of my fur babies. I'll definitely recommend Cateau Marmont and I most definitely will return. Bit of a spoiler alert: This review is coming from a pet owner that prioritizes the love of humans before the love of animals. I understand the value of emotional nourishment we get from pets but should the apocalypse come - human nourishment comes first. We decided to use their services because we wanted to lessen our pet's stress level that would be caused by temporarily losing our companionship. Cateau Marmont treated our transaction quite fair. Our cat was alive and healthy when we came back to pick it up from vacation and that's all we could ask for. One has to consider the variables which might come into play when you're few thousand miles away - "Is the location safe?", "Is the property unlikely to be in danger from the possibility of an act of nature?", "Does the property management practice safety standards?" There's a lot of safety standards being observed here. From the paperwork they ask of your pet regarding vaccinations to the fire safety and exit/entry protocols and their documentation of your transaction - it was all very professional. They have ample and clean space for pets to roam AND they have an experienced in-house groomer. All their staff seemed to be pet friendly in their demeanor and nature. You may call to ask how your pet is doing and a photo of your beloved is available for a fee. I was told late by another attendant that they did have 24 hour cameras for rent via Skype. Would have been a nice option for our cat's stay. Now you know. Is this place worth your money? - Yes. Did they follow our personal instructions for our perceived pet's needs? - Somewhat. We asked to feed our cat daily vitamins but when we got back the jar of Vitamins the count wasn't equal to the day's we had expended - This would not be the end of the world and we're quite fine with this I just needed to mention it for those very very particular of their cat's medication; you'll need to be better at following this up. We asked not to use other pillows and mats and found a pillow not belonging to us in our cat's room. We checked in to find another cat in the room we reserved and they temporarily housed our cat in another room pending the reserved room's evacuation. This is all fine and tolerable for us but I mention this in case this degree of error is not tolerable for you. Would we use Cateau Marmont again in the future? - Definitely. What would we suggest they do to improve their service? Just stay the course. Keep prioritizing building safety and security and cleanliness. We understand there are many pet hotels out there but we found this place to have staff that knew what they were doing and cared enough about their job to see the work through. All in all we had a good experience and again, our cat is alive and healthy and that's all we could ask for. read more
