The love they get each day in the form of walks, pets, love and attention priceless, but then you add in The Long Leash special touches and it's beyond incredible: -after each visit, your walker will send personalized messages (with photos!) to you describing your angel's antics and actions (they are eagerly awaited by us everyday, and we promptly forward them to members of our family around the country who now love The Long Leash walkers as much as we do!) -we went on an extended vacation during which our walkers visited multiple times a day (messages after each visit, of course), and upon our return found a "welcome home" bouquet of flowers from our pets (our walkers). Adorable. -on rainy days, our walker takes our dog outside but then brings her in out of the rain to play brain games - she literally comes prepared with indoor fun to entertain and engage our angels even when they can't go outside! -they are experts at special requests and seem to love them and view them as a chance to know your pet better. -last but not least, our walker watches our pets' behavior as if they were her own, and notes any changes in appearance, and any new physical bumps or oddities that may be concerning, and any changes in behavior that we should look out for. I absolutely cannot believe this quality of this service- not only are my chihuahuas and cat in what is clear to be the utmost professional care, but they LOVE their walks and visits with the long leash. It's so wonderful knowing my pups have this part of their day to look forward to. I get the most amazing daily pictures of my babies on their walks and cuddling at home. I know Annie looks forward to her walk and i know she's having a blast with her bff Leanne. I love that I get a detailed update, a gps map of where they went, and great pictures. Leanne and Susan took care of me and my wife's 2 cats while we were on a 2 week road trip. Every day, they came to feed them wet and dry food, water, scoop the litter, and get the mail. My wife and I were really impressed because they went above and beyond what we asked them to. They threw out the litter trash and the kitchen trash, which was really nice coming home to empty trash cans. They vacuumed the carpet next to the litter boxes. Last, but not least, they played and socialized with our cats. Our cats are pretty shy around strangers, but still pretty socially needy, so it was really nice knowing they were getting some human interaction. They also sent daily updates with pictures of our cats, which really gave us reassurance while we were so far away from home. Update on my previous post a couple years ago: I have been using The Long Leash crew on a regular basis for about 2.5 years now and I believe they deserve another review, to express my absolute gratitude for their passion and hard work. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. The commitment these ladies have to their work is something I value extremely. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs and have been using the Long Leash's dog walking, cat sitting, and over-night service. One of my cats is a recently diagnosed diabetic, and both Leanne and Skye are comfortable giving insulin shots. I occasionally foster dogs for a rescue, and The Long Leash has always been so wonderful with every single one of them. As you can imagine, some of dogs came either straight out of the shelter, or off the street, and had behavioral problems, among other things. Leanne and Skye, and all the other girls, are always so understanding and will go the extra mile to make sure every dog gets the attention and care it needs. The updates, pictures, and messages they send during every visit make my day! Unfortunately, we are moving away, and one of the things I will miss most about Pasadena is The Long Leash - no question. I am so incredibly grateful to have found Skye and Leanne!! I had a disappointing experience with a previous pet sitter, so it felt difficult to start looking for someone I felt comfortable entrusting with my two cats. During the initial phone call with Leanne, I knew immediately that I was talking to someone who genuinely loves animals. Even though my request was last-minute, she and Skye arranged to come out to meet my cats the next day. I was absolutely blown away by their love for and attunement to my kitties. They were delighted by the level of detail I went into, where I'm sure many other sitters would have been annoyed. They went through the whole cat-care routine with me, and Skye was incredibly dedicated when it came to playing with them, and learning what makes them tick. I must say, I was also blown away by their level of attunement to me! I'd hoped to find sitters I trusted to care about my cats, but I had no idea I'd feel personally cared for by my pet sitters! They have this incredible pet sitting application that emailed me each time a care session began or concluded while I was out of town. We absolutely love The Long Leash! All of the caretakers are extremely kind to our dogs, and when we traveled last summer, they even took care of a stray cat we feed as well as the birds. One of the most notable things is that...while we were away they followed every instruction and direction we left completely. We are pretty particular about what our dogs get to do especially during meal time. They always earn one of their daily meals by waiting patiently while we fill their bowls and before eating they happily do their tricks: speak, lay down, play dead, roll over, jump, turn around, dance, etc. These behavioral tactics take patience, mixed with love and a caring hand. I can't recommend Leanne and The Long Leash enough! I was fortunate enough to meet her right when I moved into my new house in an entirely new neighborhood not serviced by my old dog walker. With three dogs (two large), I need someone I trust implicitly to help walk and care for my dogs, and Leanne is that person. I am always cautious when hiring a new walker, and she understood my need to thoroughly explain my dogs' quirks and idiosyncrasies. She was very patient and took time to understand my dogs and has consequently built a solid relationship with them -- she even took note of one of my dog's allergies so she could buy compatible treats for her! I recently had a baby and needed help managing the dogs' routine, and she was incredibly reliable and flexible as we navigated this transition. I have been home when she picked up the dogs and returned them, so I have witnessed their excitement at her arrival and saw her handle them with the utmost professional competence. I have been a happy customer/dog momma since I have been having Jody giving my pup, Ladybug, walks Monday-Friday for the past 4 months. The Long Leash, along with Leanne, Skye, and their staff, have exhibited exemplary customer service from day 1. They have worked with changes in my schedule and accommodated additional visits when last minute obligations arise. They also treat my pup with extra TLC, sprinkling in fun commentary with her daily updates. Getting updates from Jody is one of the highlights of my day. This review is overdue. I can't say enough positive things about The Long Leash. I have been using them for more than a year now for regular walks for my friendly but restless/anxious shepherd mix 2-3 days a week while I'm at work, so I have a very good sense of them over the long haul. Leanne and staff are terrific. They're organized, exceptionally accommodating whenever possible, and, most importantly, are true animal-lovers. The emailed updates with photos, geo-locator, and a checklist indicating whether your pet has done their business, has water refilled, etc. are great. And any time I have needed modifications to plans or have had concerns (eg., if your pet needs special attention for health reasons, etc.) they've been exceptionally responsive. EXCELLENT company! I chose The Long Leash to take care of my dog when I moved to LA 7 months ago, and I've never regretted it for one minute. Leanne and Skye spent at least 45 minutes to thoroughly assess and get to know my dog at the initial visit. Immediately, from their professionalism to their obvious love for animals, I knew The Long Leash was the right fit. When Leanne and Skye told me they were vet techs, I knew Toby would be in safe hands. Scheduling walks on line is easy, and the company is extremely flexible if you need a last minute walk or need to reschedule. My dog is walked 3x a week and 9/10 walks, he has the same walker. She is wonderful and I always feel my dog is 100% safe in her hands. I love the "report card" I get emailed after each walk with a full report and pictures. There just aren't enough stars to rate The Long Leash. To say they go above and beyond is a total understatement! This review is long overdue. I just adore Leanne. I trust her implicitly, 100% and believe me, anyone who knows how I feel about my furkids, knows that if I say it I mean it! My trio is my world. One of my three is blind and requires a very delicate hand to administer her eyedrops. She is a delicate flower. I had been looking and looking for someone I trusted enough to care for her like I do. I decided after hearing all the awesome tales of Leanne and Co. to go ahead and invite Leanne over to see if my little Oonah would relax enough to let her administer the drops. If it was a go, it was on! Well let me tell you. Leanne immediately sat on the floor and not only Oonah, but all three of my furkids crawled into her lap. I handed her Oonah's eyedrops and little Oonah melted in her arms and it was easy as pie! My dogs are in love with her. She was like an instant pack member. Needless to say she is now always my go to animal angel to care for my kids, feed them, walk them, give Oonah her meds and sit with them for cuddles. The dogs are at ease, and I am at ease when I need someone to step in if I have long hours at work. When I get home, they are so unstressed, just as content as ever. I do pet photography, and volunteer doing portraits at shelters and rescues. So if I ever cross paths with anyone looking for a trusted person or group to take care of their furkids I am always excited to share Leanne and company's info. I have met almost all of the Long Leash crew and I can tell you they are Pet people to the max. They will put you at ease, and become your pets new BFF. We asked for the walking and overnight stay service for our boxer, Rocco, for one week. Lennie and Sky first came to explain how it work and greet Rocco. They were super nice and cheerful ladies :) Rocco loves people and sometimes gets uncontrollable, because he gets too excited to see our guests. But they know how to handle him! The long leash is very professional. They give you good advice as well for your furry baby! Sarah stayed at our home with Rocco, and took care of our cats also. They watch over our cats for free, since she is staying our home anyways, they said. That was cool :) They were super responsive too. There are not enough stars for the crew at The Long Leash! They are an amazing team and take excellent care of our little guy, Murray. We signed Murray up for their hiking club, which means 3 times a week he gets picked up at our house and taken on a little adventure with his pup squad. They visit local parks and popular hiking spots. After each visit the team sends us an email with a run down of the day, including pictures of Murray frolicking around Southern California with his friends. We could not be happier with the service. I needed a dog walker because I couldn't take my dog to work. :( I was so worried about what to do. Then I met Leanne and I knew right away that I liked her and her energy was great. Since then my furrybaby and I are in love with The Long Leash! Leanne, Ari , Kelli , and all the walkers have been amazing in making sure my dog gets all the love she needs when we are away. Ari and a few other walkers had been stopping by everyday to walk Orchata for 2 months. They would take her around the block to get fresh air , talk about the weather, , give her lots of belli scratches, close the blinds , turn on the light, fill her bowls with food and water. For Orchata 's birthday, Ari made her feel extra special by singing to her, bringing her a present, and a card signed from everyone at The Long Leash. All the ladies are attentive and accommodating to Orchata. I would check in on my dog through the camera right around the time of her visit and she would be looking out the window waiting for her friends to stop by for their walk. After each walk, I would get an update on Orchata's visit. Every time I read her daily report I'd have a smile on my face because I knew she was in good hands. If you're looking for people who genuinely love and care for your furbabies almost as much as you do, these are the folks. We had Leanne take our pup for a daily walk when we were out of town (our housesitter wasn't able to do this). It was comforting to know that he was getting a daily 30 minutes of pure joy. I also greatly appreciated the pictures and updates (because Leanne knew I was nervous about leaving him behind). As I found out from a previous pet sitting experience, not all pet sitters are conscientious about keeping in touch, so I was extra appreciative of her effort.
