I'm writing because I got a new rescue dog (an American leopard hound) whose history I know little…read moreabout. The first person I called was Dave because he trained ME and my last dog. Please note the ME in that statement. It seems to me that some people approach training as something that is only for the dog. Nope! This is one of the biggest lessons that Dave has taught me over the past 13 years he's worked with me and my dogs. Understanding the non verbal cues that dogs give us that we often miss is critical. Dave's friendly style is unique and he provides many anecdotes that I find helpful in applying to my dogs. He is on the dog's level and tunes into what the dog is focused on and correctly anticipates what will happen next. His mind is working quickly and he may leap from one example to the next, so be ready to keep up and take mental notes! My new dog has a different personality and temperament than my last dog, and Dave nailed it on his first visit with her when he explained several things I could do to improve the relationship. I tend to love all over my dogs and use louder commands when what really works for results is a varied and what may be considered "counter-intuitive" response to some behaviors. Move quickly, "dance" with the dog's movements, and pay attention is something that I am still learning to do with my animals. It obviously won't happen overnight and I know that with Dave's support, I will help shape my dog's behavior and she will be a well-balanced canid family member and neighbor to others! I can't recommend Dave enough. He's good with all types of dogs and I can speak from experience that he's excellent with larger coonhounds who are not typically considered easy to train. My last coonhound loved Dave so much that he became a regular boarder and student in the extended Eggers family. I have every expectation that my new dog will too, and I can't wait! Thanks again, Dave, for being the right trainer for me and my furbabies!!

I found Dave through his wonderful Yelp reviews so I realize that my opinion is certainly in the…read moreminority. However, I still think you should know of my personal experience. After adopting a 2 year old min pin mix from the humane society, I emailed Dave to set up a training session. I explained that she was already pretty good with walking on the leash, etc. but we wanted to definitely focus on some separation anxiety issues and just general command following. He showed up on time (a big plus in my book!) but did not acknowledge our dog at all when he came in. He said "she'll have to warm up to me." A little background - we'd had our pup for two weeks and she'd never barked. She just cuddled everyone who came over. The humane society had said they too had never heard her bark so we weren't even sure that she'd hadn't been de-barked previously. Well, Dave came upstairs, without acknowledging her, and with his big booming voice talking a mile a minute and the second he reached the top of the stairs, she barked. We should have listened to her. Dave immediately launched into telling us about training and giving us seemingly random information about how to train her to do this or that. He did not ask us about her background. He did not ask us what we wanted to accomplish, he just ran full steam ahead. It was a whirlwind but my Husband and I tried to keep up. He got out treats and commanded our dog to sit, which he did get her to do, but he did not tell us why or how he was getting her to react. Next, he said we should all go on a walk. He proceeded to ignore how she was walking on the leash and spent the whole 20 minute walk telling us stories about how he tamed giant aggressive dogs. Impressive, but that's not what we have nor what we were paying for. On the walk, he told us that we needed to get down to her eye level to show her our hand signals because she couldn't see if we did them high up. Okay, fair enough. However, back at home, he was getting her to sit some more and he said "you have to stand and give the hand signals, you're not always going to bend down for her." Literally contradicting what he had just told us on the walk. He never let us practice giving her commands so he could correct what we were doing wrong and he never seemed to take any interest in listening to us about our concerns. He also kept referring to her as a "he" and while we corrected him at least four times, he kept calling her a boy. I give him two stars and not one because my Husband and I do think he knows what he's talking about. However, he's probably much better with bigger, more aggressive dogs. When he left, my Husband and I looked at each other, exhausted from the high-energy that Dave puts out (he's loud and boisterous and constantly expelling anecdotes) and said "never again" at the same time. Dave wasn't for us and my suggestion would be to pay attention to your dog and your gut like we have. In the end, she knows all kinds of tricks now and is a great learner, but she needed a different approach.

I thought I can just follow tutorials online, but none of the methods worked. I decided to get a professional and found Master Dog Training through Yelp. I read all the reviews and was impressed with how many dogs he had trained. Different breeds and ages. I texted him and he provided me all the information and we confirmed a date. I saw a promotional price for Temple City, but since I am at another city, it is a different price. I did text him a day before our appointment to remind him just in case, per our agreement. My puppy is getting the "DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING: Commands and Problem Behaviors, pulling on leash, dumpster diving, counter surfing, mild barking, potty training, jumping, digging, chewing, nipping, not listening. NOT FOR DOGS WITH AGGRESSION or FEAR!" A total of 5 sessions, once a week, 55 minutes per sessions. This training is done at my place and indoor. By the end of his training, he learned 18 commands in 5 weeks! Please note that it also depends on your effort and if you're training your dog daily with what was taught. Mike is great with our puppy! Turns out he owns the same breed as me. From my perspective, he trained my husband, me and my puppy altogether. If you're doing something wrong, he would tell you. He is patient, always on time, and so kind to my puppy. I especially love the graduation ceremony. I was holding in my tears. Overall, we are very happy with Mike and the result.

We are very happy with Michael's approach to training. He is effective and nurturing, but firm and very patient. We prefer his style of training as it is supportive and encouraging. When discipline is needed, we have firm commands that Michael taught us. He also provides tips for helpful products like corrector spray and developmental and age appropriate toys. His "graduation" ceremonies are so fun! We had a standing weekly appointment, but Michael was flexible when things came up and responds to any calls/texts in a timely manner. We plan to return for advanced training to continue our puppy's learning.

Honey has been leery of larger dogs, but she's much more comfortable around them, as am I. Francesca has offered excellent advice on how to properly introduce Honey to other dogs, while drastically reducing her fear-based aggression, which started once Honey was bit by a coyote a few months ago. My very alpha dog needed a lot of training and Dawit turned him into a more calm alpha dog who knows his place at home and in public. I'm so very thankful and cannot be more happy with how much of a good boy my dog is. As a first time dog carer, I've learned so much from Dawit and would definitely recommend his training to anyone.

We became prisoners in our own home. We either had to take him everywhere with us or have one of us stay behind. It became a huge burden, and we found ourselves scheduling our entire lives around our dog. We decided to work with Dawit, and little by little, things started to improve. When we got Cooper back from training, he was like a completely different dog. He no longer pulled on the leash, was not reactive when he saw other dogs, his recall was amazing, and many of our typical worries disappeared. However, the separation anxiety still persisted. This is where Dawit truly deserves recognition. He never gave up on us or on Cooper. Our training journey probably lasted longer than most because of how severe Cooper's anxiety was, but Dawit went far beyond the typical follow-ups. Over the course of several months, the training sessions, check-ins, texts/videos, communication, and home visits finally paid off. There were times when I genuinely thought we'd never be able to return to a normal life, but our consistency combined with Dawit's continued support and new techniques made all the difference. Cooper can now stay home alone in his crate without issues. That being said, training only works if you put in the effort. We followed through with everything Dawit recommended, even when it was difficult or when we didn't see immediate results. It's easy to fall back into old habits or give up when progress feels slow, but perseverance truly pays off. Side note: Dawit is just an all-around great person who genuinely cares about what he does. Our dog absolutely adores him. We also love the boarding services he offers -- especially because Cooper comes home exercised and happy. Another huge plus is that Cooper is now off-leash certified, and we fully trust him to make good decisions. Yes, it can be costly, but it's an investment and honestly, I don't know another dog as well‑behaved as ours. I'm incredibly proud of the work it took to get here.

It took her 6 months to be okay with my sister-in-law So when I say she grew to love our trainer Sasha, that means something. We say Sasha's name and Roma looks around for her! When we started, Roma was very anxious and nervous, with few ways of calming down in chaotic or packed areas. She was also a picky eater and had some reactivity. Sasha worked with us for 3 months and taught us so much. She guided us through each scenario, showed us we should have more confidence in Roma, and set us up with a system of tools, exercises, and mindset to empower her. Roma was nervous with the team at first, but by the 3rd month she fully trusted them. Now Roma is learning to stay in place and ignore people and dogs, and she's more confident in crowded areas. She's no longer picky with food either. We learned it's okay for her to skip a meal instead of bribing her with cheese. It's not the end of the world! If you have an anxious dog, take the leap. Ask a bunch of questions, come in with an open mind, and put in the work on the exercises and homework. We couldn't have done it ourselves with our busy schedule.

After a consultation at the residence-turned-dog-training-facilty we decided on the 3 week boarding program. We boarded our Maltipoo pup, Remy, during the peak of teething-destory everything era while we were out of town for wedding. The trainers were really great and patient with him. You could have also tell Remy was very comfortable with them. When we picked up Remy he was happy, healthy and very excited to see us. He also exhibited more attention and checked in with us more. Pulling on the leash became non-existent and his new default is now to sit in a heel position. The only improvement I'd suggest is that I wish I received more updates regarding Remy while he was boarded. We received a photo and say a couple of videos on Instagram, but more would have been welcomed. Regardless, we're happy with the training and the additional homework/tips to practice while at home. Remy continues to be a regular at the group trainings and other outings hosted by K9 Logic. I feel comfortable with my pup socializing with different dogs in the presence of the K9 Logic team.
