Great option here for rustic fine dining right in the heart of Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming. Sure, there's a gigantic stuffed Moose head looming over you but if you look the other way, it's a magnificent, serene view of Jackson Lake and we were treated to a glorious sunset weaving in and out of the darkening clouds. Oh and the food... absolutely exceeds expectations. Pan seared Idaho trout - accompanied by just the right amount of garlic butter and rested on a farro (ancient grain), cranberry and blue cheese mix - that's a lot of action there supporting a fish that isn't in-your-face fishy to begin with and it goes down easy - you feel like you could eat a 2nd filet rather easily. Wyoming Beef Ribeye - here in cowboy country I had to try the ribeye and it did not disappoint. The picture really doesn't do it justice. Deep deep flavors and nothing quite compares to the fatty bits and suppleness found only in a medium rare ribeye. My only gripe is that they supposedly ran out of horseradish - either raw or creamy. Hmmm sounds fishy to me... Broccolini and fingerling potato sides were solid as well. We did not order the Bison Stew after chef said they would not offer a sample.... but I may actually do that for lunch tomorrow.... Service, besides the aforementioned, was great, prompt and attentive.

Delighted to find this place. Great food, in a nice sized dining room with a pleasant atmosphere and an incredible view! Often "fine dining" at a National Park is a pretentious and disappointing experience, but Peaks has good food at a reasonable price (around $20-$30 for an entree). I've paid a lot more for a lot less, in similar locations, such as the nearby Jackson Lake Lodge "Mural Room" restaurant. I was also really happy to see dishes which can be prepared as gluten-free identified as such on the menu. After ordering a g/f entree my server offered to bring out some g/f bread to nibble on. Nice touch! I would definitely come back here and recommend it to anyone.

Wow! After so many terrible meals at the lodges in Yellowstone, this place is like a culinary oasis in a desert of crappy roadside eateries. If you are looking for a great meal with upscale atmosphere and amazing views, this is your spot! The menu items are classic but they are all executed to perfection, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh, local, and sustainable. My sister, who lives in NYC, said it was the best steak she ever had. Ok... I don't know about THAT, but it was a damn good steak, and the smashed potatoes were like crack, they were so good. My Idaho trout was perfectly cooked and tasted incredibly fresh. Somehow even the rice/orzo pilaf was so good people were stealing bites. The salmon piccata was also a great dish. The fetuccini was tossed in a light lemon-caper sauce with asparagus, and the seared salmon was a perfect medium doneness. Yum... How was the glazed pork tenderloin w/ mashed sweet potato and sautéed broccolini? No clue because dad practically licked the plate clean :( As for dessert, do not skip the blackberry pie! I normally hate pie because of the usual gooey, super-sweet fruit fillings, but THIS pie is really good. The filling on the firmer side, and the flavor is perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. Specify that you want it warm, and you'll be in heaven! Oops, I forgot the appetizers.... Skip the garden salad - it's whatev. The cheese dip sounds plain but it is freaking amazing. It's like queso on steroids, with chorizo, roasted red pepper, and other good stuff mixed in there. Served with fresh veggies for dipping, it's like the perfect mix of healthy and artery-clogging. Portions are generous and prices are extremely reasonable, with entrees around $18 and apps around $8. Comparable meals in Jackson Hole were way pricier and not as tasty, so don't miss this place!

Best dining view in the entire area!…read more Our amazing ATV guide, Claude, told us we had to stop by Dornan's and we wouldn't regret it. He was right! We pulled up around 5pm and while it was busy (it always is) we found an indoor table against the glass with that incredible view. Starving we both ordered 12" pizzas. I stacked veggies on a NO CHEESE pizza and my hubby got the Static Peak, both with iced teas. The pizza was INCREDIBLE! The crust is delicious and fresh, so good! My veggie pizza was packed with fresh veggies and my hubby loved his Static Peak pizza too. We enjoyed taking our time and enjoying the view of the Tetons. After we were done we walked down to the water and watched the float trips go by and enjoyed the sound of the water. We loved our time and the view so much we returned for our very last night in Jackson Hole. This time we arrived closer to 6pm and the line was out the door. It moved so fast and we found a table for two on the roof this time. That view just cannot be beat. We sipped our iced teas, enjoyed our pizzas and soaked in the view - I got the Static Peak with no cheese this time and it was my favorite. EXTRA THOUGHTS *the 7" pizzas are NOT on their original crust, they come on thin crust. GET THE 12" for the original crust, it is incredible. *the staff isn't super friendly. The bartender was frustrated with a server and kept rolling his eyes. He huffed a little and made each person at the bar wait to order while he did menial things around the bar. When he finally helped get drinks (any drink you order with your food has to be fulfilled by the bartender) he was irritated and short. We offered grace, everyone has a bad day. *as other reviews have noted, the other staff aren't super friendly. Each of our two visits the person taking our order and the person delivering it were short and appeared to be frustrated to be working. It didn't changed our experience as we only interacted with them at order and delivery.

The line was across the restaurant, so I would recommend searching for a table while someone is ordering. We got a seat outside with the most beautiful view. The staff were pretty quick with clearing tables, so after we got seated, everything was cleared right away. We of course had to get the Bison Bolognese, which I think was my favorite. Unsure what bison is supposed to taste like, but it was yummy. And we had 3 of their specialty pizzas including the Mount Owen, The Grand, and Static Peak. All three were amazing, but the Grand was the favorite with the little sweetness from the pineapple. For drinks, there is a liquor store right by the entrance where you can purchase, and the staff at the restaurant will give you cups. So glad we were able to eat somewhere so close, and it was delicious with a great view!

They do, however, serve some of the best fries I've had, which rather steals the hot dog's thunder. Would've liked relish, but who cares ! The coffee was excellent, and the shakes were gloriously large, thick, and unapologetically milky, complete with a proper straw sturdy enough to handle the challenge. The huckleberry milkshake and berry crumble were both spot on. The only downside was the service. There seemed to be a bit of a rush to clear plates, even while people were still eating, which adds an unexpected sense of urgency to a casual meal. Most of the staff appeared to be trainees, which may explain the occasional rough edges. With a little more polish, the experience would match the quality of the milkshakes rather nicely.

This review is for our dinner our first night at the lodge, which was delicious and so fun. First of all, it's stated on their menu that their goal is to make 100%of their dishes in-house, which is admirable. I had a pulled pork sandwich and my partner had the burger, which he said was very good. The sandwich I ordered was so piled with pulled pork and slaw that there was no way I could pick it up, but ate it with a fork - very tender and delicious. They also have fun house sodas, like a huckleberry vanilla Dr. Pepper which I wish I could drink every day. My partner had the campfire root beer which had marshmallow syrup and something else and indeed was borderline like a s'mores soda. The highlight of our visit was our server, Kyle, who was so personable and friendly. He had just spent time in Chicago, so connected over that and he gave us some tips on where to stay in Cincinnati as I've always wanted to do a weekend there. Really a fabulous experience our first night at the lodge and nice to have an option that's low-key and casual.

I almost never write reviews, but Matt and the Chef deserve some recognition!…read more It was honestly hard finding good food in Jackson Hole as we are picky eaters, but this place was so good we came back twice. The fried chicken pasta was delicious - the chicken was sooo juicy. The truffle pasta was also really good. Matt works at the bar, and he made the whole experience even better. There wasn't a hostess when we walked in, but he noticed us and got us seated. We also ate at the bar another night and noticed how much he genuinely goes out of his way for everyone. Even if he's not your server, he makes sure you're taken care of. He handles negative situations really well too, even when things like food delays aren't his fault. Super friendly, great attitude, and just naturally good at what he does. Honestly, service at some other places in Jackson Hole has been pretty disappointing, so Matt really stood out and left a great impression on us.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

The room is lovely - what you expect at the lodge - with an incredible view of the range and all the tables at the windows are 2-tops, so we lucked out. Dinner With a (Partially Obstructed) View…read more... Dining at the Mural Room is something of a rite of passage for many visitors staying at Jackson Lake Lodge, and I can certainly understand the appeal. The setting is iconic, the murals themselves are impressive, and the restaurant is clearly intended to be the signature dining experience within the lodge. Unfortunately, while we enjoyed aspects of our meal, the overall experience didn't quite justify the premium positioning or pricing. The food itself was generally well executed, although the portions/sides were on the weaker side. The trout was nicely prepared, and the whole roasted chicken was flavorful and satisfying. The kitchen appears capable of producing quality dishes, which made the children's menu somewhat puzzling. It consisted primarily of the usual suspects--burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, and grilled cheese. Given the number of families staying at Jackson Lake Lodge and the thoughtfulness displayed in options on the adult menu, I expected something a bit more creative or reflective of the region. Cocktails proved to be somewhat hit or miss. The Huckleberry Lemonade was interesting and enjoyable, and several of the house cocktails utilizing herb- and flower-infused spirits were unique and well executed. The bar program seems to shine most when leaning into creative, regional-inspired drinks that the bartender(s) can simply execute to menu. On the other hand, the more traditional cocktails we sampled, including a Manhattan and a Martini, were underwhelming and suggested that the bar is considerably stronger at crafting house specialties than executing classics or going "off menu". We did not sample dessert, so I can't comment on that aspect of the menu. Service landed squarely in the middle for me. It was good by the standards of many restaurants and certainly pleasant enough, but it felt a step below what I expected from a restaurant marketed as the flagship dining venue of a premier national park lodge. Similarly, while the murals and surrounding architecture remain impressive, guests dining in the evening should be aware that the window shades are often lowered to reduce sun glare, which substantially diminishes what many people likely envision as the marquee attraction: enjoying dinner while taking in unobstructed views of the Tetons. Pricing also felt ambitious relative to portion sizes. Nothing was egregious, but there was a persistent sense throughout the meal that the restaurant was asking guests to pay a premium for the setting and reputation as much as for the dining experience itself. Final Thoughts: The Mural Room might be worth experiencing once, particularly for guests staying at Jackson Lake Lodge or those interested in its history. The food is competently prepared, the setting remains memorable, and some of the more inventive cocktails are genuinely enjoyable. However, I'd encourage diners to calibrate expectations. In my view, the Mural Room succeeds more as an iconic lodge dining room and experience than as a destination restaurant. Further, I might point you to the nearby Heron Lounge for equivalent views and service as well as a more reasonably priced (and maybe more approachable) menu. -AC
