Excited to move forward I booked my appointment for June. As June approached I emailed Steve several times because I did not know what he had planned for a design and I had no response from Steve or the shop. Keep in mind this was after I paid my deposit and my husband also purchased a gift card in May towards the tattoo. 6/20/24 the day of my appointment I arrived at the shop and no one was there. I waited called and Steve answered he said yes they are at the new location and he was running late childcare. We met and Steve did not have my tattoo prepared, no design. We did sit together and came up with a design and rescheduled for July. First session full day Steve left the chair for extended periods of time many interruptions left the shop for an appointment friends hanging around the chair. Session two Steve was late childcare arrived 10:30 appt 9. He was not able to locate my stencils or art and needed to find them. He left the shop again for an extended period of time while I sat in the chair with the inks stencil on my arm. Session 3 same interruptions people hanging around the chair and hardly any communication between Steve and I. Steve told me 2 to 3 more sessions to complete the project but prior to this day he said one more session. I follow many fantastic artists on social media and learned they do realism and their customers were leaving with work completed in a session and I was not. I spoke with a few artists and decided it was within my best interest to not continue with Steve. Had I continued I would not have been able to fix the tattoo or even have it removed. I chose not to show at my last appointment and oddly the shop never called me, Steve never called me to ask where I was. Would I recommend The Black Rose Tattoo NO! Will they say we were under construction moving shops yes. Will they respond that I wanted realism and that this would take multiple sessions yes! I wanted realism however again how is it mine looked a distorted doodle and was not coming together after multiple sessions, keep in mind the full day session is $1,500.00 a day! Will they respond you no showed yup they will but honestly I made that choice! As a professional business owner it is their responsibility to take due diligence and put the customer first. Respond to client's emails. Be prepared with the work. Take care of your business and personal needs prior to accepting money from a client and scheduling a service that they cannot provide. Red flags were there from day one and I continued to go back I take ownership for this mistake. They should take ownership for taking me for a financial ride to purpose their own financial good. Luckily I found a shop who took this and created a beautiful piece of art. Last comment to this lengthy post I recently attended a tattoo convention and had the pleasure of chatting with one of the judges and prominent artist shop owner in New England, while at dinner. His comment to me blunt and truth do your research before being inked! The judges at the convention were shocked at the prior work and made mention they need re-do contest I would agree. I spent a year hiding my mess something that was special to me in memory of my Dad. Now I walk around proudly displaying my piece people approach me comment gorgeous landscapers comment on the flowers how real they are. and well sorry not sorry The Black Rose Tattoo Company you missed out on doing a beautiful realism full sleeve that is now in the works elsewhere! My recommendation do not go to Steve at The Black Rose Tattoo Company... and do your research before being inked it pays to wait and find the shop and artist who can make you visions come true.

I gave her what I wanted and she said, she had a slot just a few days later. Day of my appointment, they called me and said she accidentally double booked, and I said ok no problem, things happen. And they said their is another tattoo artist by the name of Evy who may or may not be able to squeeze me in. They ultimately rescheduled me for another week because Evy could not accommodate. I was only disappointed because I had actually taken time off of work to come and get this done, and there was no effort to try and make the situation right other than just rescheduling me. I came back in a week later. She was finishing up the appointment before me. She said she hasn't eaten since this morning, and left to the back to go eat. She didn't come back for another 35 mins or so. And when she did she came back with a piece that, no offense, looked liked she just came up with in the last 35 minutes. There was essentially no real thought or artistry that was put into this, and i think she i knew this. And offered to do a color test on me for free. I declined, because i wasn't about to get a color test done when i didn't like the product that was shown to me. Overall Cat may do some nice work, from her portfolio some of the stuff did look ok. But because of the lack of effort put into my work, I will never know. I did give 2 stars because she is very nice. And she does offer a service where she will give you 3 mock ups before you come in for 90 dollars.

I was not looking for a soothing Swedish massage at that time. I had injured myself and I was looking for someone that could get down and into the root of the problem and work it out for me in a way that I could not. Enter Ally Cruikshank. I set up an appointment with her after I read a couple of reviews left for her by customers that were pleased with their results. When I went in, my back and neck had pretty much gone into full spasm. I could not turn my head at all. Everything was strung so tightly in my body that even breathing seemed to hurt. I was delighted to find a gap in her schedule on the very day that I was looking for help, and I booked it without hesitation. I only booked a half hour session, thinking that was all that would be needed, especially as the focus was to be my neck and upper back area. I like the location of the business. It is very convenient for me. The office area is small and simple, but warm and inviting. The massage room was a treat. Low lighting, warm freshly laundered sheets and towels, soft soothing music playing in the background - everything that you would expect at a decent massage place. I explained to Ally what was paining me and why, and she went right to work. Her hands expertly dug right in. You could tell right away the level of her experience, as she could feel every tight tendon and muscle and set about trying to ease the tension. I didn't even have to tell her what really hurt because she could tell. She also found a bunch of spots that hurt and were tight that I didn't even realize hurt until she started to work the area. I could have easily booked an hour and would have still needed more time to work out all of my kinks, but a half hour was a good start and eased the sharp edges of my pain. Ally explained to me that I could become a regular if I liked, and book the same slot every month. There is a price discount given when you are a regular like that, which is awesome too. A great massage at a discount - what's not to love?? ;) I decided to go for it and become a regular. I also upped the time to a full hour. I now see Ally once a month every month, and I look forward to my visits. Ally helps keep me limber and loose. I walk out of my appointments feeling like a million bucks, and like I could take on the world and do anything! It is a small splurge for the benefit that my body is receiving. I am spending what someone might pay for 2 visits to the nail salon each month. That is a bargain in my book, and while I enjoyed having my nails done while I was doing that, this is SO MUCH BETTER. My whole body thanks me for it. I highly recommend Ally Cruikshank and HTM. I cannot speak about the other therapists as I have never worked with any of them, but if Ally is any indication, I'm betting it's a great group. Give them a try - you'll be glad you did!! Seriously. I know that's hard to believe. Communication with the staff was easy- i liked that, too. Always a plus when someone is massaging your feet or using sharp tools on your hangnails. Good makeup tips from Debbie, too. I think they've been in business for a couple decades here, so that's prob why it seems like they really know what they're doing. Also, the always important question of sanitation: it's clearly sanitary here. I had no questions. Saw her disinfect the tub before my feet went in, tools came out of a sterilizer box, and liquid sterilizer with tools soaking was in view. Oh, and my favorite part of a pedi: the massage. Top notch. I've found my pedi place in Central Mass, woohoo! Going back for a facial soon too.
