Tony seems amazing, and I'm sure he runs an amazing studio- an unfortunate bad experience that is likely rare. My experience with Body Art Studio 13 started out positive. I had booked an appointment through Instagram DMs as instructed, had a lovely conversation with my artist's assistant, and sent my deposit to the artist that I had booked with- Amy Heath. However, at 11:30PM the night before my appointment, I received a text that my appointment had been cancelled. To preface a little bit: I had booked for two tattoos, and this would have been my first experience with tattoos. I greatly admired, and truly still do admire, the work of Amy- I was absolutely thrilled to be working with her and planned an hour long commute that was a rare opportunity in order to be tattooed by her. I sent her a quick DM asking why my appointment had been cancelled, and I decided to try calling her at 11:45PM. The first call had no answer, so I decided to just try one more time. She answered, said, "F*ck off, I'm in bed," and hung up. I will attach photos of the exchange that followed. I was truly excited for my appointment, and I would have understood Amy's frustration if she had been polite about it. I was very frustrated about the cancellation, as I took lots of time to pick an artist and studio that I felt would provide a good experience, but I did not stoop to the level of rudeness and extreme unprofessionalism that Amy did. Amy lost herself, and Body Art Studio 13, someone who would have been a very loyal patron. So disappointed.

The facility itself is beautiful- it's big and has lots of open space. A really relaxed atmosphere and not intimidating at all. Everyone I met while I was there was super nice, too. As far as the process itself, I felt extremely confident in how clean everything was and Amy's process was great- she took her time and explained what she was doing and why which made me feel at easy. She offered breaks consistently, checked in often, and very sweetly gave me both gum and a lollipop as a distraction. The tattoo itself came out great and she gave me easy and clear aftercare instructions, as well as a fast way to reach her should I have any additional questions, and offered touch ups over the next few months if I noticed any cracking or anything like that as it healed (my design had a lot of done lines). I will definitely be back for my next tattoo, Amy is fantastic and I had a great experience here!

This is a review only for piercings. I have never gotten a tattoo here…read more I have gotten 5 piercings done by Rob. I only went back to him so many times because The Kingdom in Framingham is worse than here. My last straw with him was when we pierced my eyebrow with a straight barbell. He definitely knew to pierce me with a curved one since he told me he has had 10 eyebrow piercings. This is literally common knowledge. I went to another piercer to get my piercings checked out. He said that if I hadn't gotten my eyebrow checked it 100% would have rejected. The other piercer said my anti eyebrow piercing was pierced incorrectly too. I always had a suspicion about it because it stuck out on one side. I'm sure this place is only still in business because of the tattoo artists. Rob is very rude and uninviting. He would 10/10 call a woman a poser foid. Some days, he decides to be nice but it's very rare. I have heard only bad things from people I have talked to and from reviews. It's a common story to hear that Rob called a person a pussy or a bitch.

I didn't feel intimidated and they were really good about explaining proper care. I also got my first tattoo here. It was small on my lower back. I'm going to be honest when I say the guy that did it was a total a-hole. He never told me how to sit, where to go, ask me where I wanted it or how big. He told me not to move and when I breathed, he yelled at me and gave me a "Jesus! I said don't move!" So, yeah that was not the best experience.

I got my cartilege pierced here and they did a good job (all pierced with needles, no guns). Allegedly it was also a discounted piece :/ You can see the proof in the pictures below. The first tattoo appointment took around 8-9 hours and it looked good at first. I was super tired and just ready to leave once it got late. But I knew it was not done right when it started to heal. I have other tattoos and both of them look like I got them just a few months ago. When she did this tattoo the needlework was not done deep enough into the dermus layer and the entirety of the work went into the epidermus layer instead, since the cells in the epidermis heal quickly. I essentially had a semi permanent tattoo. This work caused it to fade rapidly. This tattoo was missing lines and outlines less than a month after I got it. Two months later I was missing whole sections of my piece and the middle parts of the flowers. The red from the lady bug was basically gone. While I believe Mrs. Pio is a talented artist, I do not believe she should be tattooing. I messaged her November 15th, less than two months after she did it, and we set up a touch up appointment for an additional $70 for mid December. The touch up appointment was easily 4 hours because almost all of the piece had deteriorated. I let her know beforehand that the piece needed a lot of work. I felt like I shouldn't have even paid for it. After the touch up, the piece definitely improved, however, it is a super light tattoo and the line work is not done well. There are still missing sections in the leaves and the body of the snake on my tattoo. The red from the lady bug is completely faded too. All in all, I would not recommend getting tattooed here or by this artist. The piece has not aged well despite me taking very careful care of it. I am now in the process of paying another artists to re touch the entire piece. I would also like to note there are very few pieces that this artist posts online that are actually healed. Most if not all pictures are right after it was done or retouched. I honestly feel like her portfolio was deceiving as I was super excited to get the piece done and it looked great right after. Based on the pictures on the profile I thought I was going to get a piece that looked very different. Please save your money and go to an artist with more experience and someone who posts all stages of their work on their portfolio.

The room was very open and inviting, and there was music just loud enough to be distracting but so loud that it was overstimulating. When they showed me a selection of jewelry to choose from, they had every option in two different hypoallergenic materials, which was amazing as I react to a lot of metals. There was an online form to fill out that was very easy to understand and fill out. When I went in the room where they do the piercings, all of the tools were in sterile sealed bags until they were used, and were promptly thrown away after the procedure was done. The actual piercing went very fast and Jozi was amazing. She was very comforting and let me stay lying in the chair for as long as I needed because I tend to get lightheaded after needle encounters. The staff then let me sit in the waiting room (which had very comfortable couches) as long as I needed (it took me about 40 minutes) and they even brought me a cup of water for free and made sure I was ok. They were saying they see it all the time and did not try to rush me out. Not one part of my experience was negative. It came out looking amazing and the more I look at it, the more I love it!
