I love Palimino Diablo Burgers! Manager Alex is so personal and professional. My friends and I came here today. I've been here before so we came in my recommendation. We were greeted warmly by Manager Alex. She's very professional and I always see her working, bussing tables, wiping down counters. etc. As usual, the cooked to order hamburgers were wonderful! I don't know what they do to the meat in the kitchen but this is the best burger I've had in recent memory. I like the branding on top of the bun too, that's a nice added touch. Onion rings and fries on point. The establishment is VERY clean, and there is live music on the weekends. There is a place to dance and a playground for the kids out back. Lots of beer on tap, some wine, too. Plenty of seating for large groups. Today when my friends and I arrived, we were informed by Alex that their food delivery truck is stuck in Temple due to the recent tornado, and the truck will be late with their meat shipment. Therefore, there were no onions rings or hamburger left (we got the last two patties). That was no problem for us at all but someone certainly got hurt over not getting their hamburger today as some people who came after us chose to not stay, since they, too, had their heart sent on a delicious meal. I see someone here left a negative review, angry because they didn't get their hamburger (First World Problems). It's not The Palomino's fault the tornado disrupted the supply chain! This is a good burger joint right by the San Gabriel River in Georgetown. They serve gourmet burgers and have a few unique items on the menu including a PB&J burger. I opted for the pub burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. It had bacon on it and was served with a side of beer cheese. The burgers are good sized, half a pound I think, and they cook them to your specifications. I ordered mine medium and they nailed it. It was very tasty and I loved dipping mine in the side of beer cheese. Yum! I ordered onion rings on the side and they met my expectations. Tables are set up picnic style and you sit wherever you can find space. The night we went even had some live music- quite entertaining. The one the only the Palimino!! This cute little spot is the perfect place to gather with friends and family after you go scuba diving in the San Gabriel river. Phew I came in starving after finding lots of lost treasure down by the river down yonder. Boy oh boy I had to fuel up on a juicy Palomino burger. That sure hit the spot. Parking was easy to find, they have ample parking in front and on the side. We walked in and took some menus and sat down. They have picnic tables everywhere and have very few tables with chairs for back support but it is not impossible to find seating with back support. They have a large draft beer selection and a lovely menu with lots of variety. The bathroom was not the cleanest but not the dirtiest I have used. We ordered at the bar and kept the tab open. Our friends got the cheese Kurds to start then we all got sandwiches and burgers. I got the burger that had cream cheese and jalapeño. It was interesting! I got no jalapeño because I do not care for spicy tho ga but I wish I got the jalapeño on the side. Everyone was please with their food and I thought the fries and cheese Kurds were great! Stopped in to see what all the fuss was about. Glad we did! I ordered the Kraut burger with onion rings which was very tasty. Hubby ordered a Cheeseburger with fries. Both were ordered medium and came out that way. Which normally doesn't always work out for us. This time the burger was cooked to perfection. We also ordered the Chips, Salsa, & Beer Cheese appetizer witch was tasty too! Soda is ordered by the can Nd they have a whole wall of beer options for those of you that drink. Would like to have some non carb side options. Maybe some cucumbers and ranch or deviled eggs. Normally I don't eat that many carbs but I needed to try the full experience. This is a pretty cool family owned restaurant and bar in Georgetown. They have lots of beer options and many different kinds of burgers and hotdogs. I had a hotdog with sautéed peppers on it with some of their Diablo sauce and my head was sweating! It was good. The staff is very nice and the service is fast. They had live music there, there was a guy playing guitar and singing that was pretty good. The hamburgers are pretty expensive, and my wife said the patty was a frozen patty and it was just OK. Update: After getting a response from the owner, I felt like things needed a clarification. 1. It was absolutely NOT a high school band, unless there is a high school for 80 yr olds in Georgetown. Owners response to try and shame me for not supporting local high school kids is ridiculous and incorrect. 2. Owner did not address the bad service, the warm beer, or the whopping $1.60 off. 3. Owners "explanation" to me about medium vs medium rare was not only condescending, but shows that she did not read the part of my review talking about how I always order my steak medium rare. This burger was not medium in any way. It was RAW. It was inedible. 4. NEW INFO: Turns out that BOTH of our burgers were actually ordered well done at the register. So? Due to the unprofessional response without taking accountability, it does confirm our decision to never return. And to take away another star. read more

We came on a Friday night during a holiday weekend, and the restaurant was lively with patrons cheering on the army football game. Food and drink was ordered at the bar, and our cashier (Becky?) was holding the floor down while still providing excellent service to our party - mad props to her customer service. We started off with the fancy fries - crispy truffle fries topped with Parmesan and a side of very garlicky aioli. We thoroughly enjoyed them, and none were left over once our main course came. My Diablo burger - made with chipotle aioli, fresh jalapeños, spicy relish, and a side of ghost pepper sauce - is not for the faint of heart. I consider myself to be a massive spiceaholic, and I found this to have a pronounced and satisfying heat. The onion rings, beer battered and fried, were tasty and crispy - a good choice for dipping into my ghost pepper sauce. A couple of mishaps, such as a longer wait for our friends' burgers as well as a side salad not being delivered alongside the rest of the food, did not sour our experience and I would highly recommend to those looking for tasty burgers and friendly service. read more

Truly great burgers (cooked exactly medium), cheese curds were perfect, service was friendly and the park location is perfect for an evening walk, but I can't go back with the $10 beers (wouldn't have bought it, but the beer menu didn't have prices and it didn't occur to me that someone in Georgetown would charge $10 for a Karbach)... This is where the owner responds that they have larger beers than other establishments, and hence the deal is actually reasonable - fair - but it seems like this feedback is pretty common, so why not default to the standard size and price? read more

This is by far my favorite burger restaurant! We enjoy that it's family friendly, so my kids can play outside while we wait for our food. They also frequently have specialty food items and holiday events. The specialty burgers and hard ciders are amazing! Add in that they frequently have live music and kid events, it's really an all around great restaurant. We have always received friendly and thoughtful service each visit. I really wanted to try the place. Husband said they have great onion rings- why I rated it 2 stars. Showed up at 845. Yelp states open til 10. On the board in the window, says 9. I stepped in to let the employee know and to pass it on to who needs to know. Let's just say she was not receptive. And she told me kitchen closed an hour before their closing time (assumed she was referring on the time listed in the window). Let me preface this review by stating that I'm hoping for this place's success and I hope that this review is taken as a way to improve and work out kinks. I'm willing to update this review too. We were able to stop by during the grand opening to check it out. It was a cool looking little place in a hard to find area across from San Gabriel Park. I know that they just opened up, so it definitely has potential to improve in the activities if they're planning on doing the whole "family friendly beer garden" vibe, such as adding some TVs for sports, board games, and coloring pages/menu for littles who have ants in their pants. I hope they can add something like this soon otherwise parents won't be able to stay long with kids that need to be entertained. Food was a 7/10. Along with ordering beers and pretzels, we also tried the food. The kids had chicken bites, I had the Awesome Sauce Burger, and my husband had the Steakhouse burger. Pretzels and cheese were good and our beers came promptly. Kids were a bit upset that there was no lemonade or juice for them, like other pubs we've been to - they ended up fine with just water. Our food took a really long time and it ended up coming to us cold. Kids liked the chicken bites and burgers were cooked right. Our biggest gripe with the food was that the fries had no salt and the burger meat was under seasoned. My awesome sauce was just a thousand island dressing and my husband's steakhouse burger had no blue cheese. The food was underwhelming and overpriced. I'm willing to pay top dollar for great quality cooked food, but not when the food is okay. Service was 10/10. The staff was outstanding. One thing that absolutely grossed us out was someone's little dog was allowed into the restaurant as people are eating. It's one thing that if it were outdoors, but not indoors! It wasn't a trained service dog either - it was a dog that was in people's laps and on the table. That's definitely a health violation. We are willing to give this place another shot sometime later on knowing that the first month of a new restaurant can we rough. We're hoping that all the kinks get worked out. read more

Fantastic locally owned pub / beer garden. Family friendly and just an easy place to grab a drink, a bite to eat and hang out. Beautifully renovated, expect picnic tables inside and large, shady outdoor area to sit and watch the kids play. There are 32 taps including lots of local beers, ciders and wine. Austin Beer Works and Austin East Ciders feature prominently. There are also wine based frozen margaritas. Menu is limited, but everything is great. We recently went to the soft opening and tried one of each of the items on the menu. Think burgers, brats, delicious soft pretzels with beer cheese. There is a kid's menu, but ours just wanted the yummy grown up food we were eating. Expect an easy atmosphere along with great prices, service and food. read more

This place exceeded all expectations! My dad and I got the spicy brat and it was in fact spicy and SO delicious. My husband and stepmom got the special last night, which was a patty melt... and although I loved the brat, I was incredibly jealous of their meal. Now the REAL star of the show was the dang salsa!!! We had the pleasure of attending the Palomino's soft opening. They are a family friendly tap house and grill conveniently located right by San Gabriel Park. The owners are community focused and have locally sourced products, including out of this world Bavarian Pretzel Sticks served with beer cheese. Our son loved his corn dog bites and we all loved the fries. We also got Pepperjack Brats and they were delicious. One of the samples during the soft open were these salty and spicy mini pretzel rods. They paired amazingly with a cold beer and I really look forward to them becoming a staple. I ordered my burger medium well. It came to be still bloody. I took it to the counter and told the cashier--she looked as though I was putting a huge cramp in her day. Burgers are flavorless. You have better luck going to McDonald's or sonic hell in-n-out has more flavor. Ciders are amazing, and the pretzels that they don't make in the house are to die for!!! Does take a very long time to receive your food. Sometimes the food comes out not together. So you're eating a burger and then you get fries 10 minutes later versus having the entire plate ready when it's set in front of you. The ambience is good if only they didn't have mediocre live performances. This is not an animal friendly place like Austin, Texas.
