My parents moved in to Sun City today, and we walked in to grab a bite after a long day. Our first time at this restaurant, we didn't realize they were closed which isn't a big deal. The problem was the hostess that walked by and completely ignored us, offering nothing but a disgusted look. The bartender finally noticed the 6 of us and immediately squawked: "we're closed!!!" I don't expect a lot, but a little customer service goes a long way. How about "hi folks, we are actually closed but come back anytime before 7:30pm." Or maybe even a 'Closed' sign, so as not to upset the employees. Terrible first impression. No desire to go back. read more

Normally I wouldn't recommend eating at the golf course restaurant, but there are some great advantages of coming here. First off, they accommodate large groups of people. We had 13 people in our party. We had made a reservation in advance. They had setup several long tables together in the enclosed patio area. The patio is enclosed with floor to ceiling glass wall panels that allow you to enjoy seeing the outdoors without experiencing it when it's hot and humid outside. The wall panels actually slide to open, so you can take advantage of nice weather during the two weeks of year when it actually occurs in Texas. Unfortunately for us, it was August and hot and one of the panels was off its track and couldn't be closed all of the way. We asked to be moved. Staff quickly found two large rectangular tables that were horizontal to each other. We weren't all able to sit together, but we were close enough and now inside instead of being exposed to the heat. The big draw to this place is on the outside patio. The community has built a model train track and a model of the City of Georgetown which it travels around. The train only runs on certain days and at certain times, but even when it isn't in operation, you can checkout this masterpiece. It has a fence around it to protect it from being touched, but you can still get close up to it to see the details and the action. There are several buttons placed at intervals on the fence that activate areas of the "town". One plays and Elvis song on the loudspeaker for all to hear while your attention is drawn to a tiny stage where a miniature Elvis belts out the tune and swivels his hips while a crowd in front of the stage goes wild. One of the buttons is actually the old-time speaker that you would place in your car at an actual drive-in movie theater. When you press this button, a screen in the town plays a movie. You can see cars lined up in a lot to view it. There is so much more to see and enjoy and the organizers are continually maintaining and adding to the town's features. The restaurant has a varied American menu to please a wide range of midwestern palettes. I went for the classic chicken fried steak, and got to choose two sides. The hit spiced apple slices were reminiscent of TV dinners of old, and the fried okra never disappoints. Everyone's food at table one came out at the same time, except for mine. I assumed that it didn't fit in the tray and would be out with table two. When it didn't materialize, I had to wait and watch as everyone else enjoyed their meals. It was an understandable mistake since there were two of us who ordered the chicken fried steak. Someone in the kitchen probably didn't see the "2x" on the order slip or thought if it had been written twice, it might have been a mistake. Anyway, I didn't have to wait long. The staff were quick to adjust and make things happen when slight inconveniences like this happened. There is a full bar with counter seats for patrons wanting to watch the game while enjoying a cold one. It's near the door and sheltered from the patio dining areas so that those areas can have a more elevated dining experience without having to fight for attention and yell over a TV. I would happily come back here again just to checkout the train and any improvements the group has made to the city artwork. I wouldn't hesitate to grab a bite to eat too. read more

I visited that place and they have good food and other staff is great but some of the staff is a little to racist towards non white completion people and thats a fact. I would go back but I think the staff needs to keep their personal political views to themselves. read more

I had the Turkey BLAT with mushroom soup. My dad had the salmon. His salmons was fabulous. My sandwich was good, but next time I would pass on the soup. Our server was Sierra. She was more attentive than our usual servers. She checked on us once refilling my water, and brought the check without us having to ask. read more

Sweet baby Jesus! Mulligan's breakfast menu is fantastic, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Just like everything else here, their breakfast aims to please! My girlfriend ordered the migas plate and I ordered the full stack of buttermilk pancakes. That was more than enough food to serve as brunch for two shared family style. Everything was delicious beyond our wildest dreams. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and the migas reminded me quite a bit of those at the late, great Trudy's. We were so stuffed, they had to roll us out of there. Just kidding. Well, maybe. Service was top-notch, as always. Ambiance was cozy in our booth, yet comfortable. Better get there early though. Mulligan's breakfast menu is only served until 11:30 a.m. 7 days a week. It's worth getting up early for, though, trust me. read more

I thought I'd give this restaurant one more try because it's on a golf course and I thought that maybe lunch on a golf course would be nice and I would have a different experience than last time. We walked into the restaurant today and there was not many people eating and it says wait to be seated. I stood at the podium for 10 minutes before I walked up to an employee and asked if there was somebody who could find me a seat the employee told me that "he" , I assume he meant the person that was going to find me the seat, was in the back of the restaurant probably cleaning off a table and would come up to find me a seat shortly. The person did not find the host or in anyway try to help us. I said OK thank you and stood at the podium for another five minutes before I left. The customer service service could not be worse than here. I will not be trying this place again. read more

Second visit here. In the neighborhood. Took almost 10 minutes to be seated since another customer was trying to book a group event with the hostess. Plenty of seating available and we were seated just outside the kitchen door but customers after us were seated by the windows which is nicer. Waitress came shortly after we were seated. We both ordered soup - beef vegetable and chicken tortilla. Both soups were loaded with carrots and not much else. Broth was flavorful on both. Selected the cheese enchiladas after a server recommendation and the house cheeseburger. Both were ok. A bit salty for my palate. Service was just ok. Never was offered a drink refill. Didn't bother taking leftovers home since it wouldn't have reheated well. Just ok overall. read more

This is my new go to spot! I walked in and was seated immediately. My server, Rebecca, took some time to see me but she was so sweet! She immediately took my order. The food came out in exactly 15 minutes. The chicken fried chicken was amazing! It is located in an elderly community, so I thought it was gonna be quiet but I was surprised to see that the vibe was boisterous and joyful. Good food and atmosphere but the eggs benedick are always under cooked. Whites aren't done, yokes are barely warm. Not healthy to eat under cooked eggs. I even ask waitress to tell the cook" poached medium." The cook always ignores that request. Either he's in a hurry or he's set on how long poached eggs should be cooked. Frustrating. read more

Every Sunday, my fiancé and I pick up my father in law for a hike with our two fur babies. There are many easy-intermediate level hikes in and around Sun City Georgetown that we love to explore. After our hikes, we spray down the pooches and head to Mulligan's Restaurant! Despite the usual hectic Sunday crowd, The wonderful staff at Mulligans always manage to accommodate the crowd with great attitudes and fast service. I usually indulge in one of their delicious breakfast options... But today, I decided to try one of their lunch/dinner items. I ordered the Chicken Burrito with the chili con queso on the side. The dish was humongous and it came with all the fixings (i.e. guacamole, pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, and sour cream). Additionally, the burrito was accompanied by a generous portion of refried beans and Mexican style rice. The filling of the burrito was delicious and the chicken was very tender and juicy. My other half and father in law ordered the Breakfast Croissant, both chose sausage as their meat, one ordered crispy hash browns and the other ordered their home fries. You know I had to sneak some of both their potatoes!!! Personally, I love love love hash browns... But, in this instance, the home fries were delicious! The fries had a crispy exterior and a fluffy inside! Very irresistible. Mulligan's Restaurant has become a part of our Sunday tradition, and I can't wait to try something new next week! read more

I hadn't stopped in here in almost a decade. The restaurant is located by a golf course but it has a very exciting addition since I last visited. The Sun City Remote Control group built an extensive train display behind the restaurant. The train moves around a replica of historical Georgetown. This display was all made possible by volunteers and donations. We made sure to sit near the window so we could see the train. The service was good and the menu is a good variety. I ordered the burrito. The portion was huge and the food was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area. read more

Really good breakfast menu! Food was so good; service could have been slightly better for things like water and coffee refills.

My husband took me here for lunch because he saw a train set in the middle of the outdoor seating haha, little did we know that it would be on such a gorgeous golf course, we would be seated immediately without any reservations (Saturday around 11:00am), and the service and food would be beyond amazing! Even the prices were reasonable, I believe it was $36 for the Chorizo Omelet (delicious!) and the Bacon and Eggs (my husband scarfed it down, safe to say it was also delicious). Our server was genuinely nice, professional, and provided fast service. We will definitely be back! read more

How does anywhere consistently make really horrible disasterous hashbrowns??? They do not cook them fully or in any oil whatsoever??? So because of that both sides are burnt and so hard to chew because they cook them too fast while the entire inside of the potatoes are still so very undercooked. They are NEVER ever HOT upon arrival to the table either. It's irritating. I will add photo's the next time we are all there. read more

All of the major restaurants were booked up for Mother's Day and Mulligans only made reservations for 6 or more. So we took our party of three there and was seated immediately. This pleasant, bright and airy dining room was a great experience with watching the seriously impressive operating train display outside the windows. They have a good breakfast/brunch and lunch menu that was all I would expect from a golf course dining room. The omelettes were very good with the sourdough toast and hash browns. The three meat omelette I had was loaded with ham, bacon, sausage and cheese covered by the three eggs. We will be returning again to enjoy this pleasant dining experience. read more

Mulligan's Restaurant is fantastic and second-to-none for service, food, and ambiance. I enjoy eating there with the men's group from our church on Saturday, and my wife goes to breakfast with ladies in our neighborhood and she's there right now. Mulligan's offers a very good menu where you can surely find something that you will enjoy. The servers are are courteous and friendly! The prices are reasonable for all of the items on the menu.
