The Palace is my favorite neighborhood spot. I'm super glad this gem of Greenpoint was saved and by a really great crew. Tons of space, outdoor inside and in the back room. They also allow you to rent the back room for private events. The food is great, especially the burger and the wings. They have a variety of different wings too. You can sit outside with your dog as well! They do all sorts of events and have djs also. The drinks are good and they have a great selection of beers and the staff is all friendly and great. read more

I used to go to the previous bar that was located here but time distance and hipsters made me leave greenpoint and do to DC. I have since returned and was dismayed by the Hipstamatic youth with their mismatched hems very odd taste in clothes, facial hair and just odd conversations in this bar. The food is wonderful the hamburgers chicken wings French fries were awesome the beers were pretty good they did not have any brooklyn beers which was odd for brooklyn bar. If you want to people watch and just be shocked at the over the top attempts of being that guy or girl with the dog and bandanna go here it's fun. The foood is great the staff is great. I love this place and weirdly I think it has gotten even better recently. The service is super nice in a laidback way (they had treats for my dog!), the hamburger is honestly one of the best in the neighborhood (smashburger, which is my favorite), and the negroni, which is what I typically order when I'm there, is great. The fries used to be crinkle cut but now are traditional sort-of skinny fries (like fast food style) and are much better now. The outdoor seating fills up relatively quickly on weekend nights starting at around seven. I'm so glad this place is doing well in these hard times and I will be huddled out there in my coat for as long as possible until the pandemic is "over." read more

Very glad they reopened this as basically a tribute to the 80 year old bar that proceeded, this has quickly become my favorite bar in Greenpoint. Nice wooden mid century throwback interior with good jukebox and a spacious back room, cheap drinks ($4 for bud and shot!) and nice staff. I hear the food is decent too. Harry and his workers were so helpful and easily contactable via phone whenever we had questions. I LOVE that this bar was resurrected in what's generally a socialization dead zone. So take what I'm saying as feedback, bc I'll keep coming here forever - even if they don't improve. And nothing is BAD. It could just be so much better: 1. The service is really, really slow. It can take 20 minutes to get a martini in hand on an empty Tuesday night. 2. Speaking of martinis: they are very bad. All vermouth. Gotta fix that. 3. The volume of music is consistently too loud, even for a bar. Tuesday night is still my example: this is your friendship/working session/date night crew. It's not Saturday night. The place is full of empty seats, and Tuesday night's clientele need to be able to hear each other in casual conversation. We don't need a DJ at full volume in the back. We don't need a DJ at all. 4. And the back: that's just a bad array of seating. So much floor space, no cozy corners, often makes it impossible for small groups or couples to even find a seat. This room is barren, and needs love. Love, and more comfy chairs. This room should be the wintertime jam. 5. Where's the wifi? For a bar that's made the clutch move to build USB ports into the bar itself (much respect), it's a must. TL;DR SO CLOSE TO BEING THE PERFECT BAR. I still love it here, I will always be a patron, and if they fixed these problems I'd say The Palace might become The Absolute Best Local Bar of All Time. x read more

Was so excited they reopened this local hub, my girlfriend has memories here from the last thirty years. We both signed the petition to reopen it. First time we go there we were having a great time until the bar tender refuses to serve my girlfriend. The very moment I return from the bathroom he asks me what I want while my gf is still there with her hand up, trying to get his attention to order. He refused to acknowledge her and we both expressed that wasn't cool, to which he got all defensive. The owner, sitting with a drink among patrons, starred on as if she had a problem with us being there. We left at that point because, as we told them, it's not alright that they hire people new to the neighborhood who aren't comfortable serving people who live in his community. Prejudice is not welcome in Greenpoint so we will not be back. Fuck this place under its new ownership/management. read more

Place was pretty empty. No TVs Bartender not very talkative. No offer of a menu. I found a green piece of paper a few seats down which noted "the brunch items". We noticed behind bar another list of menu items which I feel a good bartender would have mentioned. The bloody Mary's were way too spicy. The egg and homemade sausage sandwich was delicious but some fries would have warranted the $10 price! I mean it's on a small martins potato roll and only one egg so quite small for price. A beautiful looking bar. Personally we prefer coming here brunch time or early evenings where there is always a chill atmosphere while not to crowded. Comfortable bar seats which is always a big plus. Good chicken wings that is non breaded which you do not find everywhere read more

As a father of five I have to say that I love The Palace! I noticed that it had been reopened as I passed by on my way home from work. So exciting! I just had to pop in for a drink (even though I was expected home for dinner with my family). I drank a cold lager and reminisced about long hazy nights spent in the old Palace before I had met my lovely wife, and long before we had any of our five lovely children. I enjoyed the tastefully remodeled decor and nostalgic vibe so much that I lost track of time completely! When I finally made it home, drunk on frosty lagers and fond memories, I was met by a cold dinner and even icier stares from my wife and children. "It's not too late to make a new start!" I exclaimed. My wife's eyes narrowed. "We can become better versions of ourselves! Born out of these ashes of mundane despair into something beautiful and young, just like the new Palace was!" My children murmured to each other in confusion. "What ever happened to my leather jacket??" I pled as I launched myself into the closet. Instead of being inspired by my newfound joie de vivre my wife seemed to be even more drained of energy than usual as she sent the children to bed. "Why would I get rid of that jacket? I love that jacket!" I can't wait to go back to the Palace! read more
