It was around 9:30 am and the place was somewhat busy and still had available seating including bar seats. The first thing I noticed was how dirty some things were, like the mini split system that heats and cools the place, absolutely filthy! As I watched the swinging door leading to the back food prep area swing open it was just as filthy behind the scenes. The dining area was pretty clean as far as the eye could see, however, under a UV black light flashlight with a 365nm the flat surfaces might show different. Anyway, I must say our breakfast choices were very good, well prepared and served hot and the staff were all very friendly. It reminds me of the diners back in the 50's even tho I wasn't around back then. Would I go back, hmm, probably would because at least I can see the uncleanliness here is all fully on display unlike other restaurants that you can see the back rooms.

On top the food we order was a cheese burger and a patty melt. My bf got his burger and he chow down cause he was hungry. I didn't eat all of my patty melt. I took about two bites. And the patty tasted off to me. Like the patty was left out for awhile. I was completely unsure of my self if it was me Or the patty but I stop eating just to be sure. The restaurant is located at Stadium Lanes in a separate section of the bowling lanes. The facility was nice and clean, ample seating and friendly staff. It's a seat yourself diner so we sat next to the window looking out to the bowling lanes. Not to busy at 8:25am on a Monday morning so we were waited on fairly quick. It seems like no time since we placed our order it was brought out to us. Me being a biscuit and sausage gravy fan I opted for that with a side of hash browns and my husband had the pancakes/eggs and sausage. We both had orange juice which tasted like fresh squeezed right off the orange tree, very, very good. My biscuits and sausage gravy is the best i've had since relocating to San Angelo back in January 2026. My hash browns, well they weren't the best as i like mine with a nice golden crisp and these were not as you can see in the picture. Next time I will ask for golden crisp hash browns and see if that makes a difference. My husband like his breakfast and I didn't hear any complaints or wishes. We will be back and i'd say stop in and give them a try.

But first we met up at their house for drinks, chatted for a while, then off to Dinner. The Wharf is always busy, but last night we didn't have to wait for a booth. The Hostess showed us to our table, and our Server, Jade, came over to take our drink orders. I'm having a Jack-N-Coke, my Wife is going with just water. Deb ordered Wine and Cliff had his choice (unknown). The Wharf does a nice pour of Wine in your glass. While we waited for our drinks, we looked over the menu, trying to decide what to order from all the deliciousness they offer. Our drinks arrived, and we toasted to my Birthday. They make a mighty fine drink, no matter what you order. It's time to order our food. My Wife, Deb, ordered from the 'Reduced Portions Menu', their "Catfish" (blackened), with one side. My Wife went with Sweet Potato Fries, Deb with Baked Potato, and an extra House Salad. Cliff also ordered their Blackened Catfish, but from the regular menu. Comes with Two Catfish Filets, and two sides. Went with the New England Clam Chowder Soup and Cajun Rice. I usually get the Blackened Catfish from their regular menu, but this time I'm ordering from the Combination Menu, the "Steak & Chicken"; Top Sirloin & Teriyaki Chicken, Med-Rare on the Sirloin Steak, and a Caesar Salad. The Chicken comes with a Teriyaki Sauce. Orders are in, and we are enjoying their basket of Rolls with soft butter. Soon, the Salads and Soup arrived, and they all looked delicious. I am very impressed with the presentation of my Caesar Salad. It is a Beautiful work of art. I don't order a Caesar Salad that much when we go out because most places don't do Caesar justice. Caesar may have been killed by self-proclaimed "Liberators", but he left behind a great-tasting salad - and The Wharf serves that salad. It's actually one of the best I have ever had. I think Caesar was a Foodie and those others were just jealous. Anyway, Cliff loved his New England Clam Chowder, and Deb enjoyed hers as well. First round of food is gone and out comes our Main Entrees. All the Blackened Catfish looks Catfishlicious and they all confirmed that it is. It's Flaky with a Spicy kick-back. My "Steak & Chicken" combo also looks delicious with the Sirloin Steak glistening and ready to be cut into and the Chicken sitting atop the rice. I sliced into the Sirloin, and it's prepared perfectly medium-rare. It's also very Juicy and Tastylicious. The nice-sized Teriyaki Chicken also has a glistening to it, even without the Teriyaki sauce poured over it. The Chicken is also Tender and Tasty, and pouring more Teriyaki sauce makes it even more so. While we enjoyed our food, we told stories and chatted for some time. Jade checked on us often to see if we needed anything. She was also informed that it is my Birthday and we are looking forward to their "Turtle Pie" for dessert, which is a sinful creation made with an Oreo crust, Carmel, Pecans, Chocolate Ice Cream, and Cookies & Cream Ice Cream, topped with dotted Whipped Cream, drizzled with Caramel & Chocolate Syrup. I guarantee that no Turtles were harmed in making this pie. This Pie is enough for four people to share, and that's what we are doing. Since it's my Birthday, I requested a candle on the Turtle Pie. Jade went for the Turtle Pie and returned shortly with the Pie, four plates, and spoons. As I said, we are sharing this dessert because if it were a 'free-for-all', I'm sure my Lovely Wife would win. She loves this dessert and considers it one of the Best Ever - that's how good it is. This Turtle Pie is HUGE and stands tall on the plate. Jade said that they didn't have any candles, but instead she brought out a long lighter, as you use for a fireplace. She lit the lighter, held it over the Turtle Pie as everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. That was pretty cool. Now it's time to slice this pie. I cut off four pieces for us, leaving a piece left for seconds if anyone should want more. Each of the four pieces is still a good size due to this enormous slice of pie. We all dove into our slice and enjoyed one of the most creamy-est pies you will ever have. The Oreo crust had a nice sweet crunch to it, and the ice creams, along with the drizzled chocolate & caramel syrup, add that creamy sweetness to every bite. The pecans add that extra crunch when you're not drooling over the Oreo crust. We ate all that was on our plate, and I noticed several eyes eyeing the remaining Turtle Pie slice - and Cliff won out. He was the first, and last, to grab that remaining slice. After we all finished our meal and dessert, we chatted for some time. Jade is one Awesome Server and earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. She is funny, knows all about the foods at The Wharf, and is a pleasure to chat with. She is also very cute.

I say cars & trucks because this is West Texas, and just about everyone has a truck, except us. We did, and we still should, but that's another story, and I want to keep this review short like my others. Went inside and were told to sit anywhere you want. I guess they really didn't mean that because I sat in the Kitchen, and they kind of frowned. (hehe) That's when we grabbed a booth. Our Server, Norma, came over and took our drink order. Coffee with creamer for me and a glass of water with lemon for Nancy. We looked over the menu as if we didn't know what we wanted, but we did. When Norma returned with our drinks, we placed our order. My Wife is going with her standard, "Two-Egg Cheese Omelet, with Hash Browns and Wheat Bread. I am going with the same thing but having their Biscuits instead. While we waited for our food, I enjoyed some goooood Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer. Kozy Kitchen makes good coffee, not the weak kind you get at some other restaurants. Soon our Cheese Omelets arrived, and they looked delicious. The Hash Browns are prepared just the way we like'em, golden brown on the outer and potato-eee on the inner. The Two Cheese Omelet is also prepared perfectly with lots of Cheese. My Wife's Wheat Bread is toasted with a nice amount of melty butter on it. My Biscuits look different than what they served before. My Wife said they look more like Muffins. I spread lots of butter on one and took my first bite. They are, in fact, "Biscuits", nice-n-flaky inside with a golden-brown outer edge. The top, one could say, looks like a Muffin, but it does taste like a Biscuit. Also added some Strawberry Jam to the Biscuits. I drizzled some Cholula Hot Sauce on top of my Cheese Omelet, which brings out the flavor of tasty heat. That's some mighty good stuff. We both enjoyed our Cheese Omelets, and I ate all of mine and finished up my Wife's Hash Browns, with some added Cholula Hot Sauce. Our Server, Norma, earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She showed us the other one she has that I gave her before. Kozy Kitchen is one of the Best Breakfast places in San Angelo, and we Love coming here. After querying him I found he walked to the restaurant that day ... you could never tell it by his dress, and his kind demeanor, but I'm guessing that he's starting life over again.
