My wife said yesterday that why don't we eat breakfast at Kozy Kitchen tomorrow morning. Sounds good to me and we did. Kozy Kitchen (on facebook) is always busy, especially on a Saturday morning. Lots of cars in the parking lot and I did find a space, or actually a dirt spot, to park the Vette-Jet at. Walked in and people were waiting for a table/booth. We noticed that a couple of seats were available at the bar area and we stated we would take those. Yumi is our server, and we had her before. Ordered two waters for us and a coffee with cream for me. We already know what we want, so we placed our orders. Both of us are going with their two egg "Cheese Omelette"; served with Hash Browns and toast or biscuits. Wife is having wheat toast and I'm going with the biscuits. Their coffee here is some really good stuff, and it wakes you us. You can actually taste coffee in there, unlike some other places. I've said before that we like sitting at the bar area when going out to eat. Well, that also applies here. My wife is a social butterfly and enjoys bringing up conversations with others around us. Even as busy as they are, our food came out pretty quick, and the presentation is always perfectly beautiful. Like I've said many times before, when a restaurant takes a little more time and presents a beautiful presentation of their food on a plate, when the customer sees it served, they already are saying; "That looks delicious", and they want to come back. That is what they do at Kozy Kitchen. They always present a beautiful presentation of their food. Both of our Cheese Omelettes are a thing of beauty. Lots of cheese on there and the hash browns are golden brown with a slight crunch. Just the way we like em, and they are tastylicious. I added black pepper and Cholula hot sauce on my omelette and hash browns. Everything we have ever had here has been delicious. We both thoroughly enjoyed our omelettes and hash browns. My biscuits are fresh, flaky and served warm from the kitchen. I usually spread jelly on mine, but didn't this time. Yumi and the other staff members, stopped by and topped off my coffee. The staff here always have a smile on their face and are very happy to serve you. Yumi earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. For those that live in San Angelo, Texas, you have to stop in here sometime and enjoy some breakfast, which is served all day long until they close at 1:30pm. For others that don't live here, when you are in town, this is a must stop. When your not here, check out a mom&pop place near you for some good home town cookin'. I got to try Kozy Kitchen because I was looking for a place to eat breakfast before heading out of town. I asked at work for a good breakfast place, and this was the unanimous recommendation! The food was excellent. I asked for my bacon to be extra crispy, but not burnt. The accomplished this! (I've been told at other restaurants that this is not possible). The French Toast sticks were good. I also got eggs over easy. Everything was good. Water comes in a bottle. I have not tried any lunch entrees. Popped into this eatery for a Sunday brunch. It was very busy and we had to wait about 15 min for a table. This is a good sign in my opinion. The staff were all very friendly, and once we were seated we were served quickly. On the weekends they only serve the breakfast menu. My husband and I both had the 2 egg breakfast. I had over easy and he went with scrambled. We both had bacon and toast. He chose hash browns which looked homemade and I choose sliced tomato. The serving sizes were as expected and everything was well cooked. I wish I had tried the pancakes. A kid at the next table had them and they looked good and fluffy. The coffee is not super, but I'm really picky about coffee so don't take my word for it. You have to pay for water (bottled) they don't serve tap water. I would visit this establishment again. Wonderful bustling place on a Saturday around noon. It was packed with customers and pleasant staff, kept clean and joyful. Enjoyed everything we ate! Growing up, we regularly had rice and eggs for breakfast, and it was a delight to see it on a menu. Specifically really enjoyed the shrimp omelette, but the steak omelette was a nice surprise, with a generous portion of beef cooked well. The biscuits and cucumber kimchi were very good. Everyone cleaned their plates and echoed the sentiment that we definitely have to visit again for more of their evening/Korean fare. read more

We got in and seated right away so lucky us. The steak omelet is really good. I like the option to get tomatoes or rice vs hashbrowns at no chrage. The menu listed the omelet at $16 yet the bill showed $18 which is really high for a steak omelet IMO. Maybe menus are not updated? Get Trey as your server, he rocks big time. I ordered a coffee, the veggie omelet (see pic), and a side of bacon, my son ordered scrambled eggs, with bacon. They only have bottled water available. Our food arrived in 10 mins and was fresh/hot! The bacon was crispy, and they used real eggs. AMAZING ATTENTION TO RESTAURANT QUALITY: 1. Ketchup was chilled, 2. We dropped in for breakfast and a standard breakfast to share. The hash were ordered crispy, and they were on the edges. The toast was overcooked and we skipped it. The scrambled eggs were cooked correctly. And the bacon could have been crosier. In the flipside the coffee was great and hit the spot. The waitresses were extremely attentive. I'm a firm believer that "When in Rome, [you should] do as the Roman's do...", and having just moved here from the greater DMV (as in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) I clearly understood why I paid a higher amount when dining in the restaurants here. One Sunday after church my family decided we'd dine at the Kozy Kitchen as the reviews on Yelp were somewhat promising; however, that was a whole different story when we pulled up to the restaurant. The building was unimpressive and looked like a place where you'd buy fresh vegetables and fruits on the side of the highway. Buuttttt, since we were there we decided to give it a try. Now having visited Korea and having lived in Asia for three years, I wondered what kind of cuisines would be offered here and was slightly confused by the iHOP Breakfast and/or Beef Bulgolgi Bento Box offerings but I'm not going to knock it before I try it. Since the Hubs has a gluten intolerance, he went for the iHOP like breakfast of hash browns and an egg omelette ($10.99), I had the Beef Bulgogi Bento Box (total $17.99) and my daughters split an adult Shrimp Fried Rice ($13.99). I took the girls to the "too darn small" bathroom for one guest, and was surprised when I returned to the meals already on the table. My husband seemed fine with his meal, but I could tell the "fried rice" in the Bento Box was the "SAME" as the one on the "Shrimp Fried Rice" for $13.99 and I could count the shrimp on the plate which might as well have been a saucer. Such a shame -- yes, I felt short changed. I'll gladly pay any price for great food and I hadn't even tasted the food and was already getting sick. The Bento Box offering was "meh", yes, "just meh". While it wouldn't be fair to compare this Bulgogi to the one I had in Korea or in the DMV, it was edible but not all that enjoyable (oily and the meat was a little fatty). The best item was the little gyoza dumplings I split with the girls who were picking the vegetables out of thier meal. I did appreciate that the restaurant serves a bottle of drinking water with the meal if you request water, and the server was very pleasant and professional, but those were the "only" highlights. We had the server box up what I didn't eat and didn't even realize we had inadvertently left the box on the table until we got home -- no real loss there. I noticed while departing that they offer Military Personnel a free birthday meal, but even that offering wasn't enough to entice me back -- and I am a born "get something for FREE when you can kinda of girl". Totally surprised & pleased by Kozy Kitchen! Our food was delicious and came out relatively quickly. I had 2 eggs, meat, hash browns & toast. My mom had hot cakes and my cousin had the omelette. Everything was HOT and correct. I would totally recommend visiting if you're in the San Angelo area. The ONLY reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because we ordered food to go and I honestly don't think the order got put it. Don't get me wrong, they were busy busy busy. But I asked our waitress about the to go order 20 mins after ordering it and she had to check with the kitchen. When she returned she said it would be a while. In town visiting family and I'm a pescatarian. I was specifically searching for a breakfast spot that would possibly serve seafood. This spot hit my radar when I checked the menu and discovered "shrimp omelet". I went with my girlfriend,her family,and my infant daughter. As soon as we hit the door we were immediately greeted with pleasantries from the staff!! This gave me a good overall feeling and destroyed any thoughts of what the place might not be. This is a typical small town diner. I love the food here, but the breakfast is what makes this place a "have to" spot when I head back home to Angelo. They have the best biscuits! Made from scratch each AM, they are tasty, melt in your mouth goodness. However, you have to get there early as they only make so much and run out quickly.
