On our "179th Month-i-versary", we decided to have Breakfast at our favorite place right down the street, Kozy Kitchen. Arrived, they had lots of cars & trucks parked in their lot. I say cars & trucks because this is West Texas, and just about everyone has a truck, except us. We did, and we still should, but that's another story, and I want to keep this review short like my others. Went inside and were told to sit anywhere you want. I guess they really didn't mean that because I sat in the Kitchen, and they kind of frowned. (hehe) That's when we grabbed a booth. Our Server, Norma, came over and took our drink order. Coffee with creamer for me and a glass of water with lemon for Nancy. We looked over the menu as if we didn't know what we wanted, but we did. When Norma returned with our drinks, we placed our order. My Wife is going with her standard, "Two-Egg Cheese Omelet, with Hash Browns and Wheat Bread. I am going with the same thing but having their Biscuits instead. While we waited for our food, I enjoyed some goooood Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer. Kozy Kitchen makes good coffee, not the weak kind you get at some other restaurants. Soon our Cheese Omelets arrived, and they looked delicious. The Hash Browns are prepared just the way we like'em, golden brown on the outer and potato-eee on the inner. The Two Cheese Omelet is also prepared perfectly with lots of Cheese. My Wife's Wheat Bread is toasted with a nice amount of melty butter on it. My Biscuits look different than what they served before. My Wife said they look more like Muffins. I spread lots of butter on one and took my first bite. They are, in fact, "Biscuits", nice-n-flaky inside with a golden-brown outer edge. The top, one could say, looks like a Muffin, but it does taste like a Biscuit. Also added some Strawberry Jam to the Biscuits. I drizzled some Cholula Hot Sauce on top of my Cheese Omelet, which brings out the flavor of tasty heat. That's some mighty good stuff. We both enjoyed our Cheese Omelets, and I ate all of mine and finished up my Wife's Hash Browns, with some added Cholula Hot Sauce. Our Server, Norma, earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She showed us the other one she has that I gave her before. Kozy Kitchen is one of the Best Breakfast places in San Angelo, and we Love coming here. They have more than just breakfast, and it's all good. (maybe next time they will let me sit in the kitchen) On the way home, we enjoyed another Beautiful (but getting hot) day in San Angelo, TX. 3/19 we stopped in for breakfast as it's our second time here. Last week the parking lot was full, people parking out on the street and a line waiting to be seated.......This speaks for itself. Probably the best breakfast spot in San Angelo as far as I'm (we) are concerned. The service is top notch and the breakfast is simply hard to beat. Also, they have an assortment of condiments on each table, reasonably priced menu selection and the restaurant is clean. I got to try Kozy Kitchen because I was looking for a place to eat breakfast before heading out of town. I asked at work for a good breakfast place, and this was the unanimous recommendation! The food was excellent. I asked for my bacon to be extra crispy, but not burnt. The accomplished this! (I've been told at other restaurants that this is not possible). The French Toast sticks were good. I also got eggs over easy. Everything was good. Water comes in a bottle. I have not tried any lunch entrees. But I do recommend it for an good and efficient breakfast. read more

Popped into this eatery for a Sunday brunch. It was very busy and we had to wait about 15 min for a table. This is a good sign in my opinion. The staff were all very friendly, and once we were seated we were served quickly. On the weekends they only serve the breakfast menu. My husband and I both had the 2 egg breakfast. I had over easy and he went with scrambled. We both had bacon and toast. He chose hash browns which looked homemade and I choose sliced tomato. The serving sizes were as expected and everything was well cooked. I wish I had tried the pancakes. A kid at the next table had them and they looked good and fluffy. The coffee is not super, but I'm really picky about coffee so don't take my word for it. You have to pay for water (bottled) they don't serve tap water. I would visit this establishment again. Wonderful bustling place on a Saturday around noon. It was packed with customers and pleasant staff, kept clean and joyful. Enjoyed everything we ate! Growing up, we regularly had rice and eggs for breakfast, and it was a delight to see it on a menu. Specifically really enjoyed the shrimp omelette, but the steak omelette was a nice surprise, with a generous portion of beef cooked well. The biscuits and cucumber kimchi were very good. Everyone cleaned their plates and echoed the sentiment that we definitely have to visit again for more of their evening/Korean fare. read more

We got in and seated right away so lucky us. The steak omelet is really good. I like the option to get tomatoes or rice vs hashbrowns at no chrage. The menu listed the omelet at $16 yet the bill showed $18 which is really high for a steak omelet IMO. Maybe menus are not updated? Get Trey as your server, he rocks big time. A+++!!! First time at the Kozy and it was amazing! Adrianna greeted us as soon as we entered; we were seated immediately. I ordered a coffee, the veggie omelet (see pic), and a side of bacon, my son ordered scrambled eggs, with bacon. They only have bottled water available. Our food arrived in 10 mins and was fresh/hot! The bacon was crispy, and they used real eggs. AMAZING ATTENTION TO RESTAURANT QUALITY: 1. Ketchup was chilled, 2. Grooves in the opening of the condiment dispenser (Tabasco, ketchup, etc) were clean w/no "crusted gunk." Environment was very clean/comfortable. Adrianna was kind, friendly and attentive. I'm a firm believer that "When in Rome, [you should] do as the Roman's do...", and having just moved here from the greater DMV (as in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) I clearly understood why I paid a higher amount when dining in the restaurants here. One Sunday after church my family decided we'd dine at the Kozy Kitchen as the reviews on Yelp were somewhat promising; however, that was a whole different story when we pulled up to the restaurant. The building was unimpressive and looked like a place where you'd buy fresh vegetables and fruits on the side of the highway. Buuttttt, since we were there we decided to give it a try. Now having visited Korea and having lived in Asia for three years, I wondered what kind of cuisines would be offered here and was slightly confused by the iHOP Breakfast and/or Beef Bulgolgi Bento Box offerings but I'm not going to knock it before I try it. Since the Hubs has a gluten intolerance, he went for the iHOP like breakfast of hash browns and an egg omelette ($10.99), I had the Beef Bulgogi Bento Box (total $17.99) and my daughters split an adult Shrimp Fried Rice ($13.99). I took the girls to the "too darn small" bathroom for one guest, and was surprised when I returned to the meals already on the table. My husband seemed fine with his meal, but I could tell the "fried rice" in the Bento Box was the "SAME" as the one on the "Shrimp Fried Rice" for $13.99 and I could count the shrimp on the plate which might as well have been a saucer. Such a shame -- yes, I felt short changed. I'll gladly pay any price for great food and I hadn't even tasted the food and was already getting sick. The Bento Box offering was "meh", yes, "just meh". While it wouldn't be fair to compare this Bulgogi to the one I had in Korea or in the DMV, it was edible but not all that enjoyable (oily and the meat was a little fatty). The best item was the little gyoza dumplings I split with the girls who were picking the vegetables out of thier meal. I did appreciate that the restaurant serves a bottle of drinking water with the meal if you request water, and the server was very pleasant and professional, but those were the "only" highlights. We had the server box up what I didn't eat and didn't even realize we had inadvertently left the box on the table until we got home -- no real loss there. I noticed while departing that they offer Military Personnel a free birthday meal, but even that offering wasn't enough to entice me back -- and I am a born "get something for FREE when you can kinda of girl". Totally surprised & pleased by Kozy Kitchen! Our food was delicious and came out relatively quickly. I had 2 eggs, meat, hash browns & toast. My mom had hot cakes and my cousin had the omelette. Everything was HOT and correct. I would totally recommend visiting if you're in the San Angelo area. The ONLY reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because we ordered food to go and I honestly don't think the order got put it. Don't get me wrong, they were busy busy busy. But I asked our waitress about the to go order 20 mins after ordering it and she had to check with the kitchen. When she returned she said it would be a while. I ordered French toast, and when they brought it to the table what I got was frozen French toast sticks that had been deep fried. I took one bite and they were crunchy. Very disappointed mostly because French toast is a very simple dish to make and I received frozen product. read more

In town visiting family and I'm a pescatarian. I was specifically searching for a breakfast spot that would possibly serve seafood. This spot hit my radar when I checked the menu and discovered "shrimp omelet". I went with my girlfriend,her family,and my infant daughter. As soon as we hit the door we were immediately greeted with pleasantries from the staff!! This gave me a good overall feeling and destroyed any thoughts of what the place might not be. This is a typical small town diner. I love the food here, but the breakfast is what makes this place a "have to" spot when I head back home to Angelo. They have the best biscuits! Made from scratch each AM, they are tasty, melt in your mouth goodness. However, you have to get there early as they only make so much and run out quickly. A San Angelo gem. Kozy kitchen has tons of Americana classics with a slight korean/Japanese twist. This review is on their breakfast. Parking: is easy. They have their own personal lot. This kozy kitchen's hashbrowns where soooo crunchy yet soft in the inside with a nice outside crust, that didn't soften with the addition of ketchup on top. My over easy eggs tasted perfect. Not too runny with a loose yolk. The susage might have come from a tube. Overall kozy kitchen serves Americana with love and compassion. You can tell this place is a local favorite especially on the weekend. I didn't expect Korean food as well as sushi rolls to be on the menu. But they have it. The only down would be the susage but even that was okay. Where this place shines is the attention to detail. From the homemade biscuits to the crispy hashbrowns with a great crust.
