Shogun is having customers sit to close during the Covid issue. These two parties are only separated by a single chair of space.

Shogun is allowing two parties to sit too close. There is only a single chair separating these two parties. At the same time, Shogun is requiring me to wait for 45 minutes to have another customer at the same grill as me to serve me. If they had sorted the smaller group in the photo to a different table I could have sat there too with multiple chair separation. I would not had to wait over 45 minutes simply to be served. Poor business decision to make a customer wait when it's not their fault there aren't more customers. Update - closer to an hour now. Another customer has arrived but been on the phone. As a food server I would have insisted the customer place an order to prevent further delay to other customers at the same grill.

This is the first and only Hibachi/Sushi restaurant that I've been to in San Angelo, but I love it. The servers are always super nice and fast. The cooks are very good at what they do and are very friendly. The sushi is delicious and displayed beautifully. The Chicken hibachi is delicious.

I'll start by saying the food wasn't bad whatsoever. However, the quality of service is severely lacking here. I asked for chopsticks and they were essentially thrown at me. Additionally all the sauces here are watered down which is a little disappointing. I'm a huge fan of ginger sauce and the sauce here just wasn't even close to cutting it. It's pure vinegar.

So this is actually my very 1st hibachi.. Being from San Francisco, we have Benihana, which is similar to Shogun. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner during my visit and I'm amazed by what the chef can do with his cooking utensils. He is really funny and down to earth which made watching him cook that much more enjoyable. We ordered the dinner for 2, which comes with chicken, shrimp, veggie, and meat with fried rice and was more than enough food for the both of us. We upgraded our meat to fillet mignon which I recommended because it was so tender. The fried rice was a tad salty for my taste, but the boyfriend enjoyed it. This place is really clean and the workers are super nice and friendly. I will come back for dinner again whenever I'm visiting my boyfriend in San Angelo again.

Went again but for take out tonight. I got the yellowtail sashimi, Louisiana roll and a chef special roll. All were amazing as usual.

Time hasn't been kind. Food subpar at best. Steak was tough. We won't be back. (Service was excellent, however).

Then a party of five arrived, followed by a party of four. When I politely said, "Excuse me sir, but we got here first," the owner looked me straight in the eyes and said, "I'll seat you later," and proceeded to seat everyone else ahead of us. By 7:46 PM, we were still waiting. If you've been there before, you know the lobby isn't the most comfortable--especially with a baby getting overheated. Honestly, that felt really disappointing. We did the opposite of complaining--we encouraged others to stay--just to be treated like we didn't matter.

So I came here for some ramen....tonkatsu ramen in particular…read more The server is friendly and I got to witness the chef hand pulling the noodles. So I order my tonkatsu ramen. I got my bowl and the broth looked a little bit like it was weak and not concentrated enough...I figured maybe it's a little bit weaker flavor. I dip my little ladle spoon and take a sip....that looked like weak tonkatsu, but the flavor was something other than tonkatsu. I don't know what it was. The noodles were cooked appropriately, but the ajitama was not seasoned and it was not soft boiled, it was hard boiled. Okay, try out the meat. The meat was a little bit on the tough side and it did not have the flavor of chashu pork. I have had tonkatsu ramen at many different places through California. Even Missouri has a stellar tonkatsu ramen shop. Unfortunately this place does not leave me satisfied. I am afraid I can not give it a 3 star rating due to the fact that tonkatsu is unrecognizable as tonkatsu in relation to flavor. Was the flavor good? Not really. My recommendation would be to remove tonkatsu as an option on the menu altogether because although it looks like tonkatsu, it does not have anything in it that tastes like a tonkatsu ramen. The 2 stars is for decent noodles and I didn't get sick off the food.

I say cars & trucks because this is West Texas, and just about everyone has a truck, except us. We did, and we still should, but that's another story, and I want to keep this review short like my others. Went inside and were told to sit anywhere you want. I guess they really didn't mean that because I sat in the Kitchen, and they kind of frowned. (hehe) That's when we grabbed a booth. Our Server, Norma, came over and took our drink order. Coffee with creamer for me and a glass of water with lemon for Nancy. We looked over the menu as if we didn't know what we wanted, but we did. When Norma returned with our drinks, we placed our order. My Wife is going with her standard, "Two-Egg Cheese Omelet, with Hash Browns and Wheat Bread. I am going with the same thing but having their Biscuits instead. While we waited for our food, I enjoyed some goooood Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer. Kozy Kitchen makes good coffee, not the weak kind you get at some other restaurants. Soon our Cheese Omelets arrived, and they looked delicious. The Hash Browns are prepared just the way we like'em, golden brown on the outer and potato-eee on the inner. The Two Cheese Omelet is also prepared perfectly with lots of Cheese. My Wife's Wheat Bread is toasted with a nice amount of melty butter on it. My Biscuits look different than what they served before. My Wife said they look more like Muffins. I spread lots of butter on one and took my first bite. They are, in fact, "Biscuits", nice-n-flaky inside with a golden-brown outer edge. The top, one could say, looks like a Muffin, but it does taste like a Biscuit. Also added some Strawberry Jam to the Biscuits. I drizzled some Cholula Hot Sauce on top of my Cheese Omelet, which brings out the flavor of tasty heat. That's some mighty good stuff. We both enjoyed our Cheese Omelets, and I ate all of mine and finished up my Wife's Hash Browns, with some added Cholula Hot Sauce. Our Server, Norma, earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She showed us the other one she has that I gave her before. Kozy Kitchen is one of the Best Breakfast places in San Angelo, and we Love coming here. They have more than just breakfast, and it's all good. (maybe next time they will let me sit in the kitchen) On the way home, we enjoyed another Beautiful (but getting hot) day in San Angelo, TX. Here recently prices, food quality, and service has changed. I have noticed that per group and amount you pay is widely different even if it is just two adults. I asked a very sweet woman before I came in how much she payed and it's was around 43+. And it was just her and her young daughter. I payed 45 for 2 adults. The food quality is slightly different based on the times you come in to eat. Which has slowly started catching my attention more and more. The service here is good. Always has been for me each time I come in. Refills, questions, and all the things you expect to get. I have never been treated rudely either or like I am different from other quests, but I have heard with a couple of my friends that they are treated differently. Which isn't good at all for keeping business. When you walk in the place is how it always looks. To me it hasn't seemed to change except a couple of the neon lights not being on. The only problem I would say I have or a couple of comments I have over heard is the trash is overfilled and not taken out responsibly. To conclude what I am stating. Do not come here if you are looking to spend differently each time you come in. Come here if you do not care about that, in all seriousness after today I will not be eating here. Based upon the conversations I have over-heard and the business itself.
