Oriental Flame is an experience in chaos. I do not like chaos. I do not think they are ready for big groups yet. The food was not bad. By far, my favorite thing was the pan fried dumpling, but that was an experience to even get. $30 for dinner isn't bad. I did not leave full because my orders kept getting lost. I ordered the pan fried dumpling 4 times before i actually received it, and it took an hour. Fortunately, it was all you can eat, so I didn't get charged for every order. I ordered additional items that never made it. Apparently, the kitchen is a free for all. The waitress said people kept taking her orders. For the meat you cook yourself, the short ribs were good. The bugolgi was OK. The jumbo shrimps were good. Someone in our group found an area with more sauces we could have used after the fact, but for what i got, they were fine. When they finally brought out my dumplings, my order was combined with someone else's. Fine, we shared. The worst part was splitting the check. Their system divided the drinks into everyone's check. But no one came to tell us what the hild up was. I only had water. After waiting 45 minutes for the check, I finally had to get up and ask for mine because I had the early flight, out of town and needed to get to bed. I paid for part of someone's beer. Super obnoxious. Fix the issues with the sales systems. Don't make people order the same food multiple times (and keeping individual orders would probably be less confusing). Overall, decent food. The food was excellent quality was good. We had the beef and pork items and they cooked up very well.our server , Harneet, was very attentive and gave us the lowdown on how this style of dinning went. She brought our orders out promptly and was extremely pleasant. Ambiance is typical Asian, but clean and tidy. Most likely we will go back and there are some things we will try again and somethings we won't. Price for the all you can eat is $ 30.00 a person, but you can order until you bust!!! The food was delicious, but the service was downright annoying. Not "helpfully annoying". Not "annoyingly helpful". Annoying period. We came in for a quiet family lunch after a busy morning. We had been to Korean barbecue facilities before (I told that to the waiter). Perhaps the venue had been overwhelmed by ASU students or remote workers in the past; they have a notice posted that customers shouldn't stay longer than two hours. We didn't look like students, none of us had a laptop, we ordered two complete "all you can eat" tickets plus a few items to go, and we only stayed for about 40 or 50 minutes. The place wasn't crowded, either; I think only two or three other tables were occupied. We explored the salad bar, commended some of the condiments, and had plenty enough to consume in our plates. We ate everything we ordered, leaving no waste. EVERY DAMN FIVE MINUTES the damn guy came to our table and asked the same stupid damn question. You know that question. You heard it yourself. It's OK to hear it maybe once or twice throughout a visit. Not every damn five minutes, particularly if you woke up at 7 AM and think you just found a perfect place with delicious Far Eastern food you can almost meditate at while cooking it yourself. ...Get a butane tank, a butane grill and cook authentic Korean meat in your backyard. I tried this place for dinner tonight and it has a great deal for the price. For around $30, I got all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and the meats were sooo GOOD, the quality of the meat was better than I expected too, the beef short ribs and egg rolls were definitely my favorite the brown sugar was also very good I loved how chewy the boba was. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the place has a great self-serve that makes it easy to make your own thing at your own pace. The decor were really good too! Honestly, for what you get, it's totally worth the price. Definitely planning to come back with more friends soon. read more

This was our first time, we've been excited to try out the food. Our server was nice and gave us many recommendations and talked us through the menu. Though it seemed like she was the only server as she was taking a while to get us refills and things we ordered and we didn't see any other servers. The food was mid for the price. Fourteen dollars for a 7-10 year old. Thirty dollars per adult and they count an 11 year old and up as an adult, which is crazy as some kids don't eat that much. These prices don't even include the drink! Another $3 per soda or tea! I did like that fries and chicken nuggets are offered for the picky people. The egg rolls, fried rice, and garlic shrimp were my favorite. We also tried the short ribs, sirloin, sausage, and the garlic pork belly. The pork belly was terrible. We noticed it was grey in color but figured it'd still be ok. After cooking it the taste was so off and tasted spoiled. Overall, I'm not sure that we'll be back but for maybe a special occasion. Ok here are the highlights. 1. Service was great, our waitress was very nice and suggested a few food items, and checked on us regularly. 2. The food was atrocious! The prime brisket was in particular something out of a hell scape! I've never had any type of beef so horrible tasting in my life. unfortunately, that turned out to be the case with almost all the beef. No matter how it was cooked short or long, it would turn out tasteless at best or down right bottom of the shelf at worst. 3. The cost is absolutely ridiculous for the quality of food you are getting. I love Korean/Japanese barbecues so I was very excited to see this open. the reviews on Google seemed to be pretty positive (Last time I trust Google reviews.) so it was incredibly disappointing to have one of the most overly expensive low quality dinners I've ever had in my life. read more

Every staff member we interacted with was equally warm and welcoming, and I truly appreciate their hospitality. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't live up to the service. We've eaten at several Korean BBQ spots across Texas, and sadly, Primal Flame ranks at the bottom of our list. The majority of the meats were either overly tough or just had strange textures, making many of them hard to enjoy -- in some cases, completely inedible. I'm a KBBQ enthusiast and this was probably my least favorite experience at a KBBQ place. This place has a lot of potential and I was super excited to try it. The servers were kind and attentive. The ambience was great. The thing I was most disappointed in was the marinade. It tasted like they made a non Korean person that has never tasted authentic Korean BBQ make the marinade. It was savory but there was no umami flavor or sweetness to the BBQ. It was straight soy sauce. No sugar, no garlic, no sesame oil, no mirin. The Japchae tasted more like Pancit. No sugar or sesame oil. The boba was pretty good though along with their scallion pancakes/Appetizers. I enjoyed their side dishes as well! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. First, I'll start off saying the service is great. Both waiters we had were super attentive, respectful and one of them was hilarious. Second, and arguably the most important part, the food, was not good at all. I consider myself a pretty stout KBBQ fan. Probably been to 20-30 different ones across the country including multiple of them being in South Korea itself, and this fell at the dead bottom of the list. The "salad bar" consists of bagged salad tossed in a container with ranch. That's it. Next, all of the appetizers you could tell were frozen and then prepared and served. Then came the main course. The meat quality was absolutely bottom of the barrel, low quality, tasteless meat. I whipped up quite a few different sauce varieties that they had at the salad bar with ingredients ranging from chili oil, sesame seed oil, soy sauce, garlic, scallions and much more and none of it was able to remotely mask the poor quality and flavor of the meats available. We tried about 70% of the meats available including the filet mignon, which might have been the worst cut of filet I've ever seen served at a restaurant. Lastly, the desserts were the same as the appetizers, none of it was fresh or even remotely tasty and they didn't bother hiding it. It's served on the bar in sealed single serving containers or the plastic tins from the packaging they ripped it out of. For $30 a person this is a good old fashioned robbery.
