Went during my stay in San Angelo. Great food (given the area it's located in) I wasn't used to ground beef in my banh xeo but it was still good nonetheless, just different. The owners are so incredibly sweet and definitely worth supporting. The donuts r pretty delicious! What a great combo of American and Asian cuisine. I was so surprised to find this spot. One of the most unique little place in town! Amazing couple own the place and run the biz. Husband does the baked goods, wife does the entrees. Very kind and friendly people! It's so much more than donuts alone! Their lunch entree items are authentic Cambodian cuisine for sure. Try the marinated beef on a stick with pickled vegetables! The kolaches are great the donuts are terrific as well. He uses far less yeast in his breads and donuts so they are more dense and spongy vs light and airy as a result I found. I will be back again soon to try more savory items as that's what I enjoy most about small little ethnic food spots like this one. But if you need a sweet treat, this is your spot! read more

Very friendly staff members and quick service. When I first walked in and sat at a booth I had to scrub down the tables as it had caked on crumbs and I noticed it was not lit very well near the tables. For a morning bite I had the delicious Cambodian pancake it's stuffed with shrimp, chicken,sautéed onions, and cabbage wrapped it what looked like a egg pancake it was pretty good def utilize the peanut sauce that comes with the plate I thought it was just for the fresh green salad but it's for both parts of the meal and definitely complements the flavors in both! The salad was very crisp and refreshing! I also tried the blueberry donut it was very soft and sweet with dehydrated blueberries I was not a fan. This place was a spectacular find for certain! Everything we ate was unbelievably good. Yes, this appears to be a donut shop, which it is, but the rest of the menu is ready to roll as well. All I can say is ... wow! These are some of the best doughnuts that we have ever had-- and on the road we eat a lot of doughnuts! The selection here is large, but what makes this place special is a recipe that yields doughnuts that are light and airy. We purchased a half dozen plus doughnut holes, ate half while driving to Abilene, and the second half the following morning at our hotel in Kansas. And the second batch was still fresh. I should get this five stars personally, but I'm gonna write it as four-star because I've only been there once. I have only ever been there once so I will give him that the place was exceptionally clean. Very nice, and all the donuts tasted great. But it's probably my age that I had trouble doing with. They were younger people. Very very friendly very very friendly. I have to can't stress that enough and they're trying. I Give them an extra credit but I'm a try it one more time because I do not issue a five star until I know they're excellent.! A friend and I went in there... and actually. I have requested a cab to go there but will a tell you more about that later. This is a fantastic place so please try it I mean I'm saying stars it takes a lot for me to get five stars and they are so close I would've given them 4 1/2 at least. What a great little Cambodian restaurant in San Angelo of all places that also has great donuts and kolaches. A lot of people come in to get their donuts and kolaches. It's not a big place so most people get their food to go, but there are 5-6 booths and tables for inside dining. The owners are very friendly and take great pride in the quality of their food. Everything is fresh and they get their spices from Cambodia. The workers are more than happy to walk newbies through the menu and make any needed substitution The menu has a large variety of items. We ordered a cheese kolache and a cheese and jalepeno kolache, the noodle salad with chicken and shrimp, pad Thai with chicken and shrimp, and the Cambodian pancake (Banh xeo - one of their signature dishes). We did not try their donuts but they all looked amazing. Everything we ordered was super fresh, well prepared and contained high quality ingredients. I had not had Banh Xeo and it was fantastic. We had some family members who were not familiar with Asian food beyond fried rice and americanized Chinese food. They were hooked after trying Minnies. No oily and high salt food here like most Asian restaurants. This place is authentic and cooked with pride. I highly recommend this place for anyone in San Angelo looking for high quality and healthy Asian food, or a great donut or kolache. read more

The owner kindly recommended that it be eaten as a lettuce wrap - the veggies added a freshness and overall, I really enjoyed the mix of veggies, pancake, and meat. My friend and I had the intention of eating at La Carbonara, but they're closed on Mondays. I had remembered seeing a post for Minie's Cafe on Facebook and suggested we try it. I love that it's tucked away from heavy traffic. It's a very small venue with not a lot of seating, but it wasn't crowded. The menu has a lot of good options! I noticed the cuisine is similar to Vietnamese food, so it was easy to know what I was ordering. The food was prepared fresh to order. You can smell the enticing aromas wafting from the kitchen...it'll make you salivate! The dishes were beautifully prepared! You can see and smell the quality of this food!!! When we started eating, it was an overwhelming delight of taste and flavors I've never known in San Angelo! I'm from Miami and lived in New Orleans...and was not impressed with most of San Angelo's restaurants. However, this place blew my mind!!! What delicious food!!! OMG! First time here on Friday with my friends. It was my friend's bday and this was her choice. This is definitely a hole in the wall. The owner could not have been nicer along with her parents. (We were the only customers at that time) They are the ones that prepare the meals right then and there as if you were at their home. The place only has about 5 tables so there is a high level of intimacy. I played it safe (cause that's how I roll) and ordered teriyaki chicken with an order of eggrolls. The eggrolls were made with fried springroll wraps and filled with veggies. There were 4 small ones to the order and delicious! They were definitely different from the usual style. As for the teriyaki chicken, it too was different due to the sauce. The order also came with a delightful veggie side of steamed cabbage and carrots. Tried my friend's noodle soup (pho) and it was very tasty. To me it's the type of soup one would consume if trying to fight a cold. You can tell that this soup is good and healthy. Everyone else liked what they ordered and were happy. Since we were celebrating a bday, the owner made a Cambodian sweet concoction that consisted of banana wrapped in springroll wrap, fried, and topped with ice cream. Super sweet people! Negative comments-- The white rice wasn't too good, the chicken pieces were tough, and a couple of times a BAD sewer like smell filled the diner. Overall the food got 3 stars and the lovely owner got one star making it 4 stars total. Go check it out when you get a chance. read more
