The donuts here are the best in town, but the real secret is the authentic Asian food that they serve for lunch. You absolutely can't miss the noodle bowl on Tuesdays. The Asian bbq, Cambodian stir-fried eggplant, and the spring rolls are delicious as well. I've never had anything here I didn't love. Considering I'm not a big fan of any of San Angelo's other Asian offerings, this place fills a huge void in my stomach. The owners are very nice and always checking to see if you had a good meal. One of the other reviewers mentioned that the prices are slightly high, but I feel just the opposite - I thought that their prices are rather low. So after moving here this week, I needed a good breakfast place. Now when I opened up this business on Yelp I just expected to see lots of donuts, but when I opened the page and saw some delicious asian dishes I was surprised and Intrigued. So we stopped in here this morning. And I was pretty impressed it's bright and cheerful. And the prices caught my eye! Very inexpensive and quite the range of things to choose from. We went in for breakfast so we ended up with the #1 and #2 donut sandwich, which was a bacon egg and cheese and a sausage egg and cheese on a glazed donut. Man was that fresh, messy, but strangely delicious. Not for those who don't like being sticky! The owner (or one of them) was a very professional and was very personable chatting with his regulars. The two younger employees seem to be either a little standoff-ish or ill trained but that won't stop me from coming back and trying all of the great dishes. I have been to donutopia a few times and each time the donuts and food have been excellent, definitely the best in San angelo. I tried the rice barbecue bowl and it was very good with a consistent, authentic taste. I have tried almost every donut they serve and have to say they are all tasty. The classic glazed are a must, not too sweet with a really good light fluffy consistency. There are about 5 varieties of red velvet that are a personal favorite of mine especially the chocolate covered. The long john's are filled to your liking with a bunch of different fillings, vanilla, Bavarian, chocolate, etc. Lastly is the proprietor of donutopia is literally one of the nicest people I've ever met, she has stayed open late so we could pick some donuts and even fire her grill back up to make us some food! For a small family run cafe, this place is on my list of favorites. They serve the best Asian food in San Angelo hands down, even if they only serve five Cambodian food dishes. When I'm feeling blue, need a pick-me-up, on a cold day, or when I just want to enjoy a delicious bowl of noodle soup, I like to order their Phnom Pehn (pho) noodle soup and the Cambodian stew noodle soup. Very tasty and always hits the spot. Their traditional doughnuts are also good. I have yet to try their doughnut burger though. Although it looks good, I'm a bit nervous. I'll definitely get around to it and let you know. The owners are a sweet Cambodian couple. I wish you would stay open after 1700 though. All of the other Japanese, Korean, Chinese places seem to have forgotten what it was like to put love, pride, and time in their cooking. It really does show. The other places are just decent/alright and not at all authentic (very Americanized). I would definitely give this place a try. Selection and service vice I'd give it 5 stars. Atmosphere was ok, it's clean store, but towards the back wall it seem to lack organizing. Also they have more food choices available that aren't on display, but signs are so small, it was hard to tell what it was: list of fridge inventory (signs were on the fridge doors) or what? So helpful tip - please make your signs bigger, so it's right in your face kind of noticeable. Also organize the back wall, it's kind of messy looking, like an afterthought.
