I love this place but the hours need to be updated especially since I was craving it so bad because it's delicious and I was rushing over to beat closing time. Shows they close at 8:45. Not many tables but that's okay. 2) Place is welcoming and staff is attentive. 3) Food is delicious. I have come here more than once and will come again. 4) No alcohol is served. Only smoothies and soft drinks. 5) DO NOT order your appetizers and main course at the same. They will all come in reverse order or all at once. I do not like that. Order your appetizers first. I just ordered pho and pork rolls to go. When I got back to my hotel, 7 minutes away, I opened my bag and the broth was cool. All of the meats are raw or chilled and get heated by the HOT broth. I am bummed it's not worth my time to go back and deal with it. The raw steak is still bright pink. Tendon was way too big. Needed to be cut down. After adding all the items to soup it's cold now. "What Da Pho" offers a decent meal, though it's not perfect. The pho broth doesn't have flavor and also wasn't hot enough, which kind of took away from the experience. Wanted to try a pho place and I happened to see this place while running errands. The service was quick and my pho came out pretty quickly as well. The Pho itself was not bad at all, but not incredibly delicious either. The amount of meat was good, but unfortunately they didn't have legit sate spice. The Banh Mi was awful in that the grilled chicken was completely burnt on the outside, I could hardly taste the chicken. It's also extremely small for its price and I bit into an unedible bone/cartilage that made it even more uncomfortable to eat. Overall, Pho was alright, but the banh mi was a very unfortunate occurrence. This didn't affect my rating, but one of the waitresses was not wearing appropriate attire. read more

Fantastic place. We loved the atmosphere, the waitress, and especially the food. The spicy lemongrass chicken was amazing. Not as spicy as you'd guess, but still had some decent heat on it. Not complaining though. It was really good. The curry chicken was absolutely de- lici- ious. The teriyaki chicken wasn't the best but still good. I was in town with my teen daughter for a weekend event and having grown up in Houston, I got a craving for some Pho. We stopped in on a Saturday night about 5:30 and only a few tables had patrons. We had prompt friendly service. The beef pho was phenomenal, very tasty, and the portion size was large. I could have used a few more veggies like cilantro and basil but overall great. There are tons of options on the menu for the beef types. They have things like tripe too. The pho comes with bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime wedges. You can add however much you want depending on your taste. The broth is sweet, bright, and mildly citrusy with the lime they give you. The portions are very satisfying without being overwhelming. Inside the soup you get thin cut onions as well as green onions. I like the quality of the beef too and the amount that they give you. The only thing that could be improved might be to use thai basil - but of course that's very hard to get around here and would make the bowl much more expensive so it's fine. The hours are open later than most which is really convenient in san angelo. There is a discount for military or angelo state students. read more

Food was good. However the waitress we had was clicking on her pen the entire time when she wasn't writing it on the top of her palms. We asked for our steak on the side for our pho and she brought it out and apologize that it wasn't. I can look past that. I ordered the fried chicken for my little one and was clear I wanted no spice or peppers on it and it came out full of peppers and chili peppers on it- so he took a bite and couldn't eat it because it was too spicy. She came back and I politely told her there were too many peppers in there for him and I did mention I wanted no spice or peppers on it. This could've been avoided if she wouldn't taken down our order on a pad like everyone else was. My husband ordered a drink and she said yes then left to go to the store. As I mentioned on another review, I was born a "Southern Soul-Foodian" but I willingly will trade in my Daddy's baked macaroni and cheese, Charleston red rice, collard greens, and buttered corn bread for some "great" Asian Food. I first tried Pho soup when I was stationed in Germany and then fell in love again with it when we moved to Northern Virginia. We have been in San Angelo a little over a month now and I was happy when I saw a Pho Restaurant listed on Yelp. A little over a week ago, I arrived back from a quick trip to San Antonio and was not in the mood to cook dinner. The "FAM" eventually decided on "What Da Pho", I happily agreed, and was elated that I could smell the aromas from the food being cooked inside out in the parking lot (GREAT SIGN)! Once we entered the dining room of the restaurant a server from across the room yelled for us to find an open seat (ehhhh, not the greatest sign...) as I quickly scanned the open booths with dirty tables from previous customers. [Inside voice] "Be easy inner food bougie...girl be easy..."... Yes, I purposely stretched my eyes to indicate "which table???" and the server quickly caught the hint. She hurried over to clean our table which I appreciated and we were ready to dine after ordering our appetizers and the following: [Appetizers] A1. Egg Rolls ($2.95) - darn delicious; A3. Grilled Chicken Rolls ($3.95) - I assume they were delicious as they were ordered for my spouse who has a gluten sensitivity; [Kid's Meals] K2. Kid Fried Rice Plate ($4.95) - *smacks lips* -- darn delicious, yes I did indulge in my daughter's Fried Rice -- it was adult-worthy [Adult Meals] P2. Chicken Thigh Regular Pho ($7.95) - *the Heavenly Angels sing and blow their horns* -- Smack Yo' Mama and Then Run FAST Delicious -- this will be my main dish once I return V11. I love this place and look forward to eating here every time I am in the San Angelo Area. The pho was absolutely amazing! The broth is very delicious, pho had a perfect amount of chicken, noodles, toppings and flavor. I'm not used to fried onions but it was a nice surprise. It gave the soup a few hints of sweetness. If I'm not mistaken I also believe it had regular onions too. I ordered white meat (gah) and normally you get one or 2 chewy pieces but this place had 0! I've also had the shrimp pho and it's just as delicious! The staff was really nice and the server was charming. I also tried the Fruit Special Tea and it was very delicious. I normally don't drink fruit juice but it tasted really sweet. The spring rolls were disappointing. They used shredded lettuce like for tacos ! Lol and very little cilantro. I love the taste of the broth for the pho. So much so that I've come back twice in the same week. I got pho earlier this week, with the summer rolls and fried rice (for kids). I went to go pick everything up and mistook one of the containers for the fried rice. It was nice that they separated all the pho dressings/noodles from the broth. I did not get the fried rice this time. (But thankfully came back for it later in the week). The broth itself had great authentic flavor. It wasn't too heavy. Literally just like my mom makes at home. They give you a nice portion of veggies. The summer roll sauce was amazing. Also just like Home for me. Very authentic. Can't go wrong with one of those.
