So I came here for some ramen....tonkatsu ramen in particular. The server is friendly and I got to witness the chef hand pulling the noodles. So I order my tonkatsu ramen. I got my bowl and the broth looked a little bit like it was weak and not concentrated enough...I figured maybe it's a little bit weaker flavor. I dip my little ladle spoon and take a sip....that looked like weak tonkatsu, but the flavor was something other than tonkatsu. I don't know what it was. The noodles were cooked appropriately, but the ajitama was not seasoned and it was not soft boiled, it was hard boiled. Okay, try out the meat. The meat was a little bit on the tough side and it did not have the flavor of chashu pork. I have had tonkatsu ramen at many different places through California. Even Missouri has a stellar tonkatsu ramen shop. Unfortunately this place does not leave me satisfied. I am afraid I can not give it a 3 star rating due to the fact that tonkatsu is unrecognizable as tonkatsu in relation to flavor. Was the flavor good? Not really. My recommendation would be to remove tonkatsu as an option on the menu altogether because although it looks like tonkatsu, it does not have anything in it that tastes like a tonkatsu ramen. The 2 stars is for decent noodles and I didn't get sick off the food. read more

The food is phenomenal!! Crispy Beef with the standard noodles is my go to along with the Spicy Edamame. Service is quick and courteous and our food comes out hot. Ambiance is pleasant and you can sit at the counter to watch them make your noodles. Highly recommend Kung Fu Noodle. read more

I was raised on Chinese food and noodle soups, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find both done so well and so authentically here at Kung Fu Noodle! I order a soup every time I get regular sick and homesick alike. That being said, I do prefer their Chinese dishes to their other cuisines. Their ramens and pad thais and stir fries are fine, I just find the chinese noodle soups a lot more authentic and enjoyable with their hand cut/pulled noodles. The roasted beef noodle soup, signature beef noodle soup, any of their dumplings/buns, and spicy edamame are my personal favorites. If you need to know how much I love this place, my husband and I came straight here after our wedding. The staff were so kind and served our meal on the house, but I'd be happy to come here any day and pay regular price. read more

The buns were bland and the meat barely seasoned. The pad Thai was ignored. They added sauce and barely any. Awful. The egg rolls? Heavily oily. They didn't strain them. OMFG THIS WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Food , service ambiance service EVERYTHING was top top tier frfr. Man. The fried rice was fresh as hell , perfectly seasoned huge shrimp portions. I would not recommend ordering online or calling it in (they have messed up my order a time or two), otherwise I would have gave it a 5 star rating. I would however suggest you sit down and dine here. You can watch the cooks make the noodles in front of you! And the waiters are quick to help you out on what's on the menu! Best Asian food in San Angelo. Obviously their hand--cut noodles are delicious, but we particularly enjoyed the house special beef roll appetizer and the pan fried pork and pork and shrimp dumplings. I will say to be mindful of ordering the pan fried dumplings for takeout, though, since they will lose their crispiness being enclosed in the steamy container. But if you eat them in house, the texture is amazing. Everything was so flavorful, there was chili sauce at the table for dipping, and our server was attentive and helpful. Something random is that their fruit tea was so so good. We tried strawberry and lychee, and they both tasted like actual leaf tea with just the right amount of sweetness and fruit flavor. This was my first time here. We started with the egg rolls and spicy dumplings. The egg rolls were fresh and my husband loved them (I'm not much of an egg roll fan) The spicy wontons are delish. I would recommend using the chili sauce on the table with them to help bring a little more heat. We had the house noodles with beef (mild) - the veggies were so fresh, the noodles tasted like they were made today (you can definitely tell they were home made). The beef just fell apart (NOT CHEWIE AT ALL!!!) We also had a side of fried rice and it's the best in town. The service is amazing! They were friendly and greeted us upon entry and wished us well leaving. Our drinks were never empty, they knew the menus well and were able to help recommend dishes to try. Mediocre. Ordered padthai a few times (doordash), and twice the noodles weren't fully cooked, like half cooked and hard noodles. Their spring rolls taste stale like they have been sitting out all day. A Chinese restaurant that attempts to do thai food, is like a Mexican restaurant that tries to also make Italian food. Real thai restaurants only make thai food, not Chinese food, Japanese food, etc. Also quite expensive for a small town, pad thai $16? You can get pad thai in high class restaurants in Los Angeles for less than that. Even Nara Thai in houston ( actual high class thai restaurant) sells their padthai for $12. I dont think I have ever been given uncooked padthai from any restaurant and I lived in Los Angeles for 35 years and ate at every thai restaurant there every day. my husband and i have dined in here twice, or i guess i should say dined in once and attempted to a second time without success. the first time the food was really good, the service was okay but it was a bit busy so it was fine. yesterday though, we came in around 4:10 ish and had movie tickets for a 5:10 movie, cutting it a bit close yeah but the theater is like 5 minutes away. i also want to state that i've worked in food service and i'm generally pretty understanding, i'm not some wacko "karen" okay. anyway. we ordered pretty much right away because like i said we've been here and already knew what we wanted. our server brings our drinks, great. there's two servers in, a total of 3 tables, we are our server's only table. ~25 minutes or so pass, and our server then disappears for another ~15 minutes. the other two tables have left at this point. not once did the other, now unoccupied, server check on our ticket. she's just hanging out at the front of the restaurant with the host. our server reappears from the apparent void that is the back of the restaurant. she says she'll go check on our ticket. turns out she never sent it in! it's like 4:55 at this point. we only waited that long because everyone knows there's like half an hour of ads at the beginning of a movie so we thought it would be fine. she's asking what she can do to make it right. girl nothing! we had plans that didn't involve a two hour dinner at a place with only three table on a saturday at early dinnertime, with no one else coming in. and then she tells us to not worry about the teas. i'm sorry, maybe i'm crazy, but there was no way i was paying for drinks when i've been waiting for 45 minutes for nothing anyway so it's not like she was doing us a favor. this sucks but especially so when i add the context that we're only in this town because my husband's training for the air force is here, and if you know anything about that you'd know he doesn't have an abundance of free time. not only that but he doesn't love to try local places much, and he'd almost always rather get takeout and come home than sit down somewhere, so this really was like a semi rare date night out for us, just for us to end up at a big chain restaurant post movie. also, it's totally absurd but this is the second time in the only two months we've lived here that we've gone out to eat and our server "forgot" about us! and i'm being so sincere when i say that we're polite people so it's not like they're taking our own rudeness back out on us or something. i don't understand! i was going to end this review by saying the food could be worth it for takeout but some of the other reviews say they mess up the order when they did takeout. so unfortunate, because the chefs really are doing a great job in there and it is so fun to watch the noodles be pulled but the service seems to be weighing this place down. read more

I was visiting family in San Angelo from California and I was recommended this place from the hospital staff(were in for a family emergency) and I was blown away! The noodles are all hand made right in front of you and the taste? The FLAVOR? Omg! I would come back here JUST for this restaurant. My baby sister ordered orange chicken and it was really spicy so unfortunately we did have to send it back because she has 0 spice tolerance and they were so polite and kind about it! The first time my friend and I had the steamed pork buns, fried beef dumplings, fried shrimp rice, Taiwanese noodles and everything was pretty good. I noticed the steamed pork buns was not seasoned as well but the bun itself was very good. It doesn't seem as the spice flavor is labeled correctly on the menu since I ordered the spicy noodles it had very little spice. The shrimp in the fried rice was an odd texture almost mushy like, wasn't a fan. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The second time I ordered noodles here they were slight chewy and very slimy so there seems to be a bit of inconsistency of food preparation but for the options available with different styles of noodles I recommend trying them out. read more
