Friday the 13th we came here for lunch after Estate Sales and Thrifting. I had the sweet & sour chicken w/fried rice while my husband had the yellow curry soup. His was a little spicy and mine was one of the best sweet & sour chicken dishes I've had across the country. I had sweet & sour chicken with the salad that came with it. The salad was simply lettuce and carrots with some dressing I didn't care for. That's not to say the dressing was bad, only it didn't appeal to me. I was disappointed in the S&S chicken. It was over-cooked and crunchy. Most S&S chicken dishes I've had included carrots, pineapple, onions, and other vegetables. This only had pinapple. Both the chicken and pineapple pieces were rather large and needed to be cut, but they didn't give me a knife and the server was not in sight. I just bit off small pieces and ate them. Overall the service was good, seating comfortable, and the place was clean inside. I was surprised that the dining area had two levels with marble/granite stairs between them. I found this odd as a spilled drink would make this quite slippery and a fall on these hard, sharp cornered steps would surely result in injury. If I owned this place, I would replace the steps with bullnose wooden steps. read more

What could possibly go wrong! Sarcasm aside our choices were really tasty! Steamed dumplings were nice; cream cheese wontons with provided dipping sauce also made good marks. Pad Thai (my dish) ordered 4 spicy provided a nice level of heat. GF's combination lo mein noodles met with her approval too. Couple of issues led you a star knocked off. First, if I'm ordering a high level of spice you'd think the server would be checking on drink levels. Another employee noticed my empty glass more than our actual server. I have lived in Dallas and Austin. And right here in little San angelo tucked away behind the tilted mug is the most wonderful pho in Texas! No need to add any flavor to these soups it's all set to eat EVERY-TIME. But I suggest the most amazing chicken curry soup I have ever had!! The owners are super sweet and the sushi guy never gives my daughter sashimi tuna with tendons in the meat. It is cut perfect every time with much care to give you soft chewy fish! Overall I'm impressed with my experience dining here at lunchtime today. The service was prompt and friendly. The appetizer portion size was larger than expected and both appetizers arrived screaming hot! The entrees were both delicious. The curry is the best I've had in San Angelo. It was a little too spicy but I must have gotten accustomed to it because I almost finished it. The reasons I didn't give it five stars, areas in the dining need visible repair such as the ceiling tiles over the sushi bar. This was our first time in, hopefully we just caught them on a bad day. First of all it was very dirty. The floors and the bathroom. There was no toilet paper in the women's restroom, I told our waitress. When I went back in with my kids later in our visit it still had not been filled. We tried curry soup, a coconut soup, the kids split fried rice and pho, a tofu appetizer and spring roll appetizer. The soups were ok, lots of stems of the vegetables I had to spit out. I hate Thai basil and would always pick it out of my spring rolls at restaurants back home. So glad that I got to enjoy it as is. The Tom Ka was a little bit more watery than I'm used to but it was soooo good! I really enjoyed the flavor and the level of spicy was perfect. My friends enjoyed their meals but there was a piece of hair wrapped into one of their sushi rolls. The server was Alfredo and he was amazing! Very pleasant from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. He even put on some theatrics while serving us our dishes. His energy lit up the room.
