"DRAGON FOR DINNER?" - My Lovely Wife and I enjoy Chinese Food and usually have it at home prepared by her. But she likes to go out to eat more than cook at home, so I searched for a really good Chinese Restaurant in the area. Found one with great reviews called "DragonLicious" and it's not to far up Sherwood. Because of their name, it makes me wonder if they serve Dragon. I have had lots of different things I ate in my life but I never have had Dragon. If they do, I bet it taste like Chicken - we shall see. When it was dinner time we left for DragonLicious. It's a type of Restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table - and there are lots of tables to choose - the place is pretty busy. After we decided what we wanted, Jonathan took our order. And I didn't see any Dragon on the Menu. My Wife is going with their "General Tso's Chicken Bowl"; Breaded Deep Fried Chicken Leg Meat, stirred in a Spicy Special General Tso Sauce with Broccoli over Fried Rice. I am having the "Almond Chicken Entree"; Chicken Breast Meat with Mushrooms, Celery, Baby Corn and diced Zucchini & Carrots with Water Chestnuts in a White Sauce & Almonds. Served with Fried Rice & an Egg Roll. We grabbed our drinks, Soy & Orange sauce packets and chose a table. Soon they delivered our food to us and my Wife's Bowl is a good size filled above the top. My Almond Chicken is served in a To-Go container that is stuffed full of steaming food. They also have Fortune Cookies at the counter for you to grab. She LoVed her General Tso. It was very flavorful and tasty and more than enough for her, she took the rest home. I had a bite and it was really good. My Almond Chicken is enough for two people with leftovers - and it was served VeRy HoT and StEaMy. It stayed hot the entire time and I even took some home, and it was still warm when we arrived back at the house. They really know how to keep the food HoT. Lots of Chicken in there that was Very Tastylicious and all the other ingredients were as good. The Orange Sauce went very will with the Fried Rice and the Egg Roll was pretty good stuff, especially with that Red Sauce they have. Both of our orders had Good Size Chunks of Chicken. We cracked open our Fortune Cookies, and they were tasty. My Wife's fortune reads; "Life is an adventure filled with surprises" - and they are correct. Mine read; "Time heals most things. Give them time" - and they are also correct. Now we feel much better. At DragonLicious you not only get Great Tasting Food, but some Honest Advice. Thank You DragonLicious. Jonathan earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and placed it in the Tip Jar on the counter. I don't think it's going to stay there. We have now found our Go-To place for Chinese Food - and not to far from the house. They are not a chain and this is the only location in San Angelo, so, check out a local Chinese place near you and I'm sure you will enjoy the experience. And if they have the name 'Dragon' in it, check to see if they serve 'Dragon' and let me know if it taste like Chicken. For Lunch today I had a little of both orders and it all was as good as it was last night. I added some Orange & Red Sauces to the Fried Rice and Chicken and it was not only a Colorful Lunch but a Very Tastylicious Lunch as well. Everything was the Best. For fast food it's ok. Christmas Day dinner time crowd seemed hangry and loud. Watching staff scramble to get food ready for patrons seemed unfair. I imagine staff stress levels were really high. We were served with kindness and patience. I just wish the grumbling and impatient patrons would have taken a moment to realize their actions were negatively effecting those taking care of them. I ordered two separate dinners tonight, one sweet and sour chicken, the other beef and broccoli. The chicken was fine. The beef and broccoli horribl. The beef was tuff with a lot of gristle. Maybe two bites were ok, the remmainder not palatable and had to be spit out. I called and ask what they could do for me. The evening shift supervisor apologized but said they had no control over their meat. I then ask if I could bring the plate back and shoe him what I was talking about or could they refund my money as I definitely did not want another dish from them. He kept me on hold and then came back on the line and said his general manager said they could not refund my money. I then ask him for his name and he said they were not allowed to give their names. They made no attempt to correct the situation or offer a solution. TOTALLY ILLRESPONSIBLE suggest you go to a cheaper drive through at Panda, at least you know what you get for your money and they make it right if you have a problem! read more

Went through the drive through internet went down. Had us drive around back through the drive through. Already a hard place to get around busy road. Go back to the window it's not working again. However they say the machine is working up front drive back around and come in. Third trip around and now inside ask to speak to the manager and the manager would not come talk to me. I ask that it needs to be discounted after all the trouble and 30 min later they discounted $2. Not worth the hassle and for the manager to come talk to us is not cool. read more

Be careful ordering onlin. I ordered an online order tonight at 8:15 understanding that it's Memorial Day and it might take a while. When I called in at 9:30 to check on my order they informed me that online orders had been tuned off, despite my receiving a confirmation email of delivery. So even if you receive a confirmation email know that they may or may not actually deliver your order. Seems highly deceptive to me. read more

Ordered sweet-and-sour chicken through the drive-through for lunch and got home and no sweet-and-sour sauce so I called them and they said oh swing by you can pick it up I said no, have somebody deliver it they said no delivery drivers but I'll have my manager call you back so the manager Shelly called me back and offered me the same options. Swing back by we'll give you a free meal and I said well I'm already eating the meal with dry chicken and then she said well I can't replace a meal that's being eaten I said I don't want it replaced. I want either a refund of 50% or have somebody deliver the sauce and she said there's a delivery fee, so I have to pay for their mistake they're not willing to refund half of the money so they get their full price and I get an incomplete meal and I'm the one that needs to be inconvenience to swing back by the restaurant which is completely unacceptable. On top of the food being foul, the girl (Shanna) who took my order got it completely wrong. When we got home and I called to ask if they would make the correct order and we would return the food we were given she was very rude and condescending, when she finally put the manager (Jason) on the phone he was much more aggressively rude... before giving me a chance to explain he immediately told me that the order was repeated back to me and they would not allow me to return it, when I let him know it was not repeated back to me he scoffed and said "I understand that's what you are saying, but my servers are reliable " I let him know I would not be returning and he let me know that he didn't care, honestly he seemed very amused by the whole thing. I've eaten here once, take-out, actually. Called it in and 15 minutes later, husband arrived home with hot Chinese food. We ordered weekday lunch specials, which are a value in terms of cost and quantity. The quality is very much in the eye of the beholder. I generally don't like Chinese food that I didn't cook myself because restaurant food is too salty, too sweet, and/or too saucy. Husband got hot and spicy chicken (green peppers, onions, jalapeños, brown sauce). It was heavy on the veg, light on the meat as I expect Chinese food to be. However, the vegetables were cut rather large compared to the much smaller pieces of meat, so that each bite was all about one vegetable or another, but not a good mix of any. He liked the sauce, which he ate with his fried rice. I didn't taste it. I wanted moo shu, but it's not on the lunch menu. I got beef Kung pao instead. There was too much sauce, but it wasn't unpleasantly salty and I was able to mitigate the amount I ate by using chopsticks (my own). The vegetables (zucchini, carrots, celery, and mushrooms) were all very fresh. The baby corn may have been canned but was still firm and flavorful. All were cut uniformly, so that, with the peanuts, each bite had a mix of textures and flavors. The beef was very tender... sort of eerily so. We both had pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. The soup was light on filling but included wood ear and bamboo shoot and the texture was perfectly silky, not too thick. We immediately added gochugaru and rice wine vinegar to make it truly hot and sour. The rice was tender and fluffy, not dry or mushy. The perfect splash of soy sauce, but the egg/pork/veg mix was very light. Tomorrow, I'll fry up some diced ham, carrots, peas, garlic, and green onion, stir in some scrambled egg, toss in the leftover rice to heat through... and breakfast! Likely to eat here again. Maybe ask for less sauce more heat? We are very new to San Angelo and just exploring food, shopping, and service options in town. read more

I was a little skeptical about coming in here with the disparity between good and bad reviews. Upon entrance it seems like a normal restaurant. Open floor seating. You have to order first and then they give you a number to post at your table. The guy at the counter was a pleasant to talk to, Navy veteran served in a sister ship that I was assigned to once a very long time ago. I got the General Tso Chicken and it was really good and fresh. Not over sauced but not dry either. Rice was on point too, not oily. I will say that there are not many signs or postings that help you get to the drive through area. You kinda just have to guess. Was really good delivery Chinese food. Would be five stars except delivery took a little over an hour when we were told 45 minutes. The Lo mein was tasty and had lots of veggies in it which was nice. Stopped it for a quick pick up meal after a long drive back to San Angelo. Food was prepared quickly with a large portion size and a solid price. Two of us had the General Tso's and were very happy with our meal, one had sweet and sour chicken and liked it but said it tasted a little burnt. It seems like people have mixed views on this restaurant. I personally have had a good experience here. The food is prepared fast and I think it tastes like good, American-Chinese food. The only thing is I think the place is still working out kinks. It takes a while for them to answer the phone and the employees don't know the menu as well as they should. I had been looking forward to trying out this restaurant for some time, now I wish I had never gone. My first impression was that it was a little run down, surprising for a place that had opened so recently. I was excited to see they had spicy Orange Beef on their menu which is one of my favorite dishes so I ordered that with steamed rice. The young woman who took our order informed us that everything was made fresh so it would be a little while for our meal to be ready. Okay, no problem. I went to fill our drinks while my wife used the ladies room, there was dust and debris around the drink station as if it had not been cleaned well in some time. My wife returned from the restroom saying there was a strange smell. We took our seats and sipped our drinks, though not comfortably as the water they use to make the iced tea is not filtered. Anyone in San Angelo knows this is an egregious mistake. We were treated to two forms of entertainment throughout our meal, 80's pop rock music playing through the overhead speakers, not too loud, and A large HD TV showing a grainy feed of a weird movie from the 1970's? about a family trying to send their kid to a military school. It took a long time for the food to come out so we were able to decipher a lot of the plot for a show we had no interest in. Food finally arrived, everything for a dine in meal in plastic and styrofoam containers. Appetizer sampler had fried cheese wontons, beef skewers, BBQ ribs, egg rolls, and fried chicken wings? what? Beef skewers were warm and very chewy. Egg rolls were almost cold, tasted worse than freezer rolls from the supermarket and were overcooked. Ribs were warm, mostly gristle, and burnt. Wings had no sauce, were overcooked, and very dry. Steamed rice was barely passable but not impressive in consistency. My wife's Szechuan Pork was swimming in a sauce whose main ingredient appeared to be maple syrup. My Orange Beef was dark red. Not what I was expecting but I tried to go on, this was my favorite. Smell, weird, sweet, some sort of spicing that was wrong, no orange flavor or citrus aroma at all, spice almost non-existent. The meat? was cut poorly into stringy straggly bits, of the 10 bites I tried my second was just gristle that had to be spit out and my last was such a large piece of fat and gristle that I completely gave up on the meal. One of the better options for Chinese food in Angelo! When hubs first told me about it, he said it was "like Panda Express." After having eaten there 3 times now I have to say it's BETTER than Panda Express - more like Pei Wei for those of you who have had that pleasure. I LOVE the moo shu pork - it is very good (I've had it 3 times now) & the hubs loves the general tsao's chicken. He orders the dinner portion all the time so he gets an eggroll and rice with his entree. My Moo Shu comes with rice and pancakes to put the moo shu in. The orange chicken is also OK, but a bit too orangey for our tastes. We also like the Chinese donuts they have right now (I think they are a temporary menu item) - they are soft and sugary! YUMMM! The amount of food for the price is good and although hubs had some issues with wrong orders the first few times he went, each time I have gone they have gotten my order correct. The lady who took our order was SUPER nice and friendly and she got the whole order right the first time she read it back to us. I can't remember her name but she was there on a Sunday when they opened at noon. We came in a little early and she politely told us they were not open yet but said, "PLEASE COME BACK THOUGH!" We waited outside in our car until it was noon & then went inside and ordered. Our food was ready quickly and it was all wonderful. Of all the other Chinese American options in town, this place will easily top our list every time. There are just 2 other places we've eaten at more than once for Chinese. In a town where the "best Chinese food is at the airport" (according to locals) this place is a winner all around! Had Dragon Licious again tonight. Extremely pleased again. Very good size portions, very fair prices, and food was delicious. We had General Chow, Orange chicken, broccoli in garlic sauce.
