It's always been very easy to get an appointment here, and the fact that they're open on Saturdays is incredibly convenient for our busy schedule. Both my son and I come here for our glasses and contact lenses, and we've consistently had great experiences. The optometrist is kind, patient, and thorough, making each visit comfortable and informative. I especially want to give a big thank you to Mary Lou--she is amazing! She really knows all the details when it comes to insurance benefits and took the time to clearly explain everything to us. She was also able to fix my eyeglasses perfectly on the first try, which I truly appreciated. It's also a huge plus that the office is close to my home. Dr. Z's exams are thorough. Her manner is professional. She found a problem in right eye and referred me to my Primary (Kaiser) suggesting carotid artery work up. Believe it or not, Kaiser kicked in and found major blockage in both. In less than month I've seen a Vascular Surgeon and surgery is being scheduled. Praise for Dr. Z!!! Thank you! read more

If you're looking for an optometrist, the search is over- no seriously, this is THE place. Dr. Z and everyone are the best! They are kind, efficient and professional while making a fun and calming environment. I appreciate their transparency and effort in making everything go as smoothly as possible. While some things are obviously out of their control - e.g. wait time for glasses - they make sure to give an accurate timeline. They recently remodeled their office and it looks great! They have a wide selection of glasses to pick from and lots of cool added on features. Their follow through is great and always keep their word. I give this location 1 Star for my personal experience with my child who relies on glasses for school and daily activitie. Yes it's easy to get an appointmen. But why is it that my child was fitted for her glasses in February and told that it would take 3 to 4 weeks to get back. Come to find out the glasses were magically ready in 3days. I had no idea because I didn't get a phone call but apparently there was a text message sent within those 3days in which I didn't receive.(Since when was this a thing) We are now in April I finally call realizing it has been over 4 weeks and the glasses are there in the office collecting dust. I visited previous optometrists and never experienced this type of treatment where we didn't get a call because we were not Latino. Knowing that these were for a child there was not 1 phone call but a text message I didn't receive because I don't even think that was true to say hey your glasses are ready. y'all made sure to charge the insurance asasp but couldn't deliver the service? Do Better this is the US it's not just about helping your own kind and delivering good service for your own kind. I will not be back and I will take my other child to another location where we can feel welcomed. read more

I'm very sad I have to write this review, I have been coming to this practice for a long time, I first came in 2000 I was in elementary school and Dr. Rick Pope was so amazing, I was scared of using glasses because well bullying exists lol, this place was always a good experience even when I switched to Dr. Z, she's the best, literally. The technicians are always professional and kind, however the front desk is just not, over the years I have seen many come and they leave some are great some not so much, I pick up stuff very quickly and I can't help but notice the way i been treated by 1 employee that's been there for years I always try to keep it civil but when I get treated with disrespect I defend myself as I should, I hardly see her but when I do she instantly turns to being just mean & catty. I treat her with kindness still and keep the peace. Today when I called a new receptionist answered (new to me) She was ill mannered not professional. I came in and as soon as I gave her my name her face said it all, I mean she wasn't very nice to begin with, didn't even smile. This makes me think about moving to a different practice although I don't want to but I deal with anxiety and now a chronic health condition that makes it difficult at times to do my daily tasks, I'm being sincere in this review and very transparent that the customer service is okay but not personally the best to me, I make the best of it, my technician today was so sweet to me so that helped. I'm feeling quite frustrated this morning due to this place. Recently, I've had issues with scheduling here that has forced me to reschedule at a different optometry center. I got a reminder from my new place about the appointment and they tell me that this location hasn't canceled the confirmation number (which bills my insurance) Because of this, my insurance isn't able to bill this new location even though I canceled the appointment here weeks ago! You'd think that when I cancel the appointment, they wouldn't still bill my insurance but I guess I was wrong. This could've been an honest mistake but it's looking like a very sly action from this business. Please remedy this! Update: They were able to fix their mistake and own up to it. This place, is alright. However, what I didn't like was that they still require masks which is cool, they're being cautious about covid I get it, I have my mask on. I didn't like how when on lunch, they close the whole place down and they ask you to come back at my appointment time which is 1pm when clearly they're suppose to be open from 12:45~. Did not even offer to wait inside, I have my mask on and I have an appointment. Im about 10-20 min early. We need to stop this whole covid scheme and stop taking advantage of it.... *waited and counted down the minutes before someone notice to let me in. If this information was widely known on multiple platforms,then there should not have been an appointment made in the first place. i scheduled my appointment months prior and should've gotten a notice about this collision with the renovation. also, the appts that i made following were scheduled for friday so im not sure why that was the case if you only accept medi-cal tuesday and wednesday. I know my Rx that I brought in was perfectly fine since I'm wearing the glasses currently and have had no issues whatsoever with my vision in them. I also called in to see about getting them redone or replaced and someone told me that I could do that. The next day I called again about scheduling an appointment and they told me just the opposite and that the time had elapsed to have them redone. She seemed annoyed from the beginning until the end of the appointment when we made a final decision of not getting any frames yet since the kids were very indecisive. I was trying to look for new optometrist near where I live. I found this place on yelp and thought I would give it a try based on the good reviews. I had Dr. Angela Wong as my optometrist. She did great with the exam and thorough with my questions. The first appointment was fine and I needed a contact lens fitting exam. I had to come back to finish up the fitting exam to make sure the contact lenses were a good fit. I missed my appointment on a Tuesday and I called to reschedule the appointment the next morning. The receptionist told me the next available appointment would be Friday at 1145am. I agreed to the appointment date and time. I came here on my scheduled time and was told my appointment is actually NEXT Friday. I don't get all day to chase you around when you were the one messed up my appointment! Once I get my prescription I am not coming back again. Such a waste of time. They also have a limited selection on frames. It is fine if you are looking for the affordable brands. Definitely bot recommended if you want something more stylish and fashionable or the designer brands. On top of how they can't schedule their patients correctly, I will not recommend this optometry center. Update:: it should be a minus 5 star review! I came for my follow up appointment on my contact lens fitting. I was given a different brand to try. After I put it in, i saw that the lenses expired in 2015!!! Seriously it has been expired for 2 years!! My pharmacy would probably get written by the board if they find that I have expired drugs on the shelves! I am serious about this place!! I was finally able to come in to the optometrist to get a check up on my vision because I was still struggling after some new glasses. The staff were really friendly and my doctor was so informative and really helped me understand what was happening with my vision. This is the first time I've ever needed glasses and she discovered that my current prescription was just a smidge off. I've been coming to The Optometry Center for 2 years now and could not be happier with my experience. I usually am very particular about my healthcare providers, which clinics I go to, etc. so to frequent this office for two years now is somewhat of a big deal for me. Everyone, from the doctors to the staff (technicians and front desk), has been wonderful. I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff here. I even had a late appointment after work one day and still had to choose my glasses after the exam. One technician even stayed after closing, did not rush me and was so helpful and sweet. She even helped me choose the frames I wanted and talked me into picking the ones that took the most advantage of my insurance benefits. Her name is Lissandra but I believe she no longer works there. All of the other staff I've encountered have been just as helpful and sweet. When I come in for an exam (or have any eye emergency at all), I see Dr. Wong. She is a rare breed that is hard to find these days: a doctor that genuinely cares about her patients. She is very thorough and super meticulous, always asking me twice in fine detail what medication I'm taking, double checking to make sure it won't conflict with anything she prescribes me. She is thorough in her exam as well and is very clear when explaining directions and going through options. She is overall careful, professional and also very kind and friendly with bedside manners to boot, exactly what I look for in a doctor. She also asks about my body's general condition and is always open to sharing knowledge and offering advice, even if it's a problem unrelated to eyes. She cares about her patients' overall health, not just about their contact prescription and I really appreciate that. You can tell she cares to have her patients walk out of the office satisfied, with all of their questions answered. Seriously, it's hard to find a healthcare provider like that these days, one that won't rush you and is always eager to help. In conclusion, I will continue coming to TOC for as long as Dr. Wong is still working here. Keep up the great work, team! I'm a big fan :D read more

I have been coming here for a long time. The doctors are great and knowledgeable. Seen dr Pope and Dr Z and every year I think of changing but the care they give keeps me coming back. I would leave 5 stars if it wasn't for the few unprofessional rude staff they have at the front desk. For example I just spoke with one on the phone: they gave me my old prescription print out instead of the new one; after expressing how this is a true inconvenience the girl on the phone didn't acknowledge this, brushed me off and didn't even apologize. She was extremely rude, and they don't email anymore so I have to stop by sometime to pick up. I feel for the doctors and wonder if they know how the desk girls are treating their patients. I would email Dr z directly but her email isn't on the website. If you don't mind the rude girls, come here. I have worked with other staff members that have been sweet and gone far and beyond to help me get glasses or contacts. read more

What an amazing visit! I went without an appointment. In California, I really should know better, but I hadn't called ahead and I thought I'd give it a shot. I arrived around 8:30. They made an appointment for 10:15. I stayed a while to fill out paperwork. Next thing I knew I was being taken back for my pre-exam. I hadn't even completed all my forms! They asked me to wait and before I knew it I was being seen by Dr. Bui. He was fantastic. He took his time, he was supportive (I hate the "is #1 better than #2 exercise). I got a great pair of multifocal contacts to try for a week, after which I will return for a follow up visit. No appointment (I don't recommend this approach), seen almost immediately, super friendly staff at every turn and fantastic technical expertise from them and the doctor. I'm so glad I decided to stop here. Yelp led me here and I hope my review brings others to this top notch eye care provider. read more

I haven't had an exam in five years and compared to the last place I went, optometry center did a much thorough exam and had better equipment so I it was really nice. They also did a great job with cleaning and even tell you. The reason for four stars instead of five is because at the end of my appointment, I was confused because they told me I can just leave. Don't get me wrong, the staff and Dr. Llanera were nice and awesome but usually at the end of the appointment they would at least give you some paperwork or tell you at the front what to do next or what's going to happen. I wasn't given info to when I would get my glasses or paperwork of my days visit being a first time patient or even what my prescription was so I was pretty confused about that. As I was walking out, the staff said goodbye and I said goodbye, I mean I could have asked them but I'm shy and they know their job but it's just weird. I got new frames and lenses in October 2023. The service was good and I was pleased with the frames. I've worn glasses since I was 1 1/2 years old, now 64, and I've never been rough on my glasses/frames. Two weeks ago, I just adjusted my frames a little and the right side cracked, making the lens fall out. Tape would not hold the lens in, so my husband used some superglue since I couldnt see to do it myself. I called, explained the situation, they made a quick appt, but since they did not have another frame like mine in stock, they ordered it for me. I went in today after the frames arrived. The technician told me that since I had used superglue, that voided the warranty and I couldnt get the frames replaced. The technician from 2 weeks ago knew I'd had to use superglue so I could see to work, walk w/o tripping, drive, etc, but didnt tell me that voided the warranty. Also, when I called to schedule to come get my frames once they came in, no one bothered to tell me this. So, not only did I waste a trip, but was told I would have to pay for a second pair if I wanted new ones. They offered no solution since my insurance wont pay for another pair until Oct 2025. Their product failed, their technician failed to give me full information, and they wasted my time while leaving me high and dry. I'm sure I'm not the ony person who has an emergency like this, but now I've also wasted 2 weeks that I could have been working out an alternative solution. I thought I was going to like this Optometry Center, but no. At least the techs who helped me today were kind in relaying the verdict, but that still leaves me high and dry if anything happens to this already broken frame. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid and seeing Dr.Z, who is my all time favorite doctor to see. She's patient and really gets to know her patients on a personal level. I always feel welcomed when I come in and it's always clean. The staff is efficient at scheduling appointments and are accommodating with changing the times if you need. I always get my glasses and contacts here and they arrive quickly (within a week). And if I run out and am waiting for my boxes Dr.Z can always find a lens in my prescription (sometimes difficult to find on hand). read more

This place you can get one, then wait a month for the 2nd, and finally get your contacts in another 7 business days. I've been here a couple of times and it's been great. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They send me reminders and updates which helps so much. I'm paranoid and like to be sure that my appointments are scheduled, I get a notification regarding the appointments and it makes me feel at ease. The only complaint is that, sometimes the parking gets hectic on the weekends. This area shares space with a few other businesses. Otherwise, usually parking is easy. I came here for my first appointment about 2 weeks ago. They were able to get me in right away. The optometry center accepts my insurance and so I made an appointment to get my contact lens rechecked. I was long overdue yikes! Appointment process was easy, and I was able to get in within a week. Day of appointment, check-in was standard and parking was easy. They apparently have a drive thru pick up or something in the back parking lot but I haven't utilized this yet. My appointment was with Dr. Angela Wong and she was super nice. The office itself was quiet, but DR. Wong was full of energy. She is Very thorough and answered all questions I had regarding contact lens option. My eyes have gotten dryer over the years, and I wanted to try a new brand. She recommended dailies and those have been perfect for me. They even give you a call a day before your appointment to remind you. When I had a medical emergency, they were sympathetic and helped schedule an appointment on the very same morning of my call.
