I'm very grateful to Dr. Bhakta at Stratford Eye Care Optometry. She helped me replace my old scleral contacts and took the time to carefully review my records from previous and current doctors to find the best ways to improve my vision. She is extremely patient, caring, and professional. She listens carefully, explains everything clearly, and truly goes the extra mile for her patients. I also appreciate that she referred me to another excellent doctor when she felt additional care could help. I highly recommend Dr. Bhakta. She genuinely cares about her patients and provides excellent care! read more

Dr. Bhakta provided exceptional care, I was experiencing difficulty with my vision. The efficient care process and multiple testing help identify a serious health issue. The professionalism and care by Dr. Bhakta, and her staf help me get care which was much needed along with identifying the challenges I was experiencing. I too, like other reviewers, can confidently recommend Dr. Bhakta to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate eye care professional. If you're looking for an optometrist who truly prioritizes patient care, Dr. Bhakta is an excellent choice! Thank you Dr. Bhakta and Stratford Eye Care team. read more

I went in for a vision test today expecting the usual: a stern optometrist, a blurry eye chart, and a quiet moment where I pretend not to guess the letters like I'm cheating on an eye exam version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." Instead? I was launched into an ocular odyssey. This wasn't a vision test -- it was a full-blown spiritual awakening for my eyeballs. Great experience :) read more

A 10/10 experience whenever I come to Stratford Eye Care Optometry. The ladies that work at this location are such a joy to be around. They're informative, kind, helpful, and always ensure a great visit when I stop by. Dr. Bhakta is amazing and always takes care of me during my check ups. Aira and Andrea always help me at the front when I have questions or concerns about my contacts or glasses. If you want a wonderful experience at a clean, friendly, and honest optometry office, Stratford Eye Care Optometry is the place for you. read more

I have been one of their patients for a couple years now. Their help in figuring out visual problems has been great, them being local is a tremendous plus. Dr. Bhakta helps well beyond her field of optometry, I find that visits and talks with her helped in me finding my own path as well. As a former molecular biology major, I felt lost trying to find my own path independent of others. Each time I come in, I always take a piece of her advice and it helps in understanding more about myself-- being able to see clearly both in a metaphorical and biological way. The array of glasses available are also great, I'm able to change my style on a whim. I like to experiment so having a variety of frames for particular uses has been great. The staff are always warm and inviting as well! I feel they care greatly about their patients and it's evident through my interactions with those who crossed my path. Jennifer, Aira, and everyone who's present at Stratford make it a treasure each visit! Thank you for the help in deciding the frames Aira! read more

Stratford Eye Care Optometry - Whoot!! New glasses!!! - Optometrists Near Me - Hayward, California

The staff here is wonderful. They are super helpful and polite. Their hospitality was always great when I went into the office to get my exam and get my contacts. The optometrist took care in ensuring I liked my new ones because I informed her about my issues w dry eyes. Mainly I wanted to write this review about how they went above and beyond to get me my rebate. So essentially, I dropped the ball and forgot to submit my $300 rebate within 60 days of purchase if my contacts. It just completely slipped my mind. I tried submitting it to Alcon anyways and I emailed Stratford Optometry about it to see if they could help me with the situation. Andrea gave me a call the next day, asking for confirmation number of my rebate claim, called someone at Alcon, called me back to let me know that Alcon wouldn't honor the rebate because it was too late. However, Andrea said she'd see if they was anything else she could do and lo and behold she called me back the next day saying that she spoke with a Alcon rep who agreed to help honor the rebate. Yayyy! That's $300 back to me. All in all, the staff here really care and I felt so thankful that Andrea pulled out all the stops to get me my money back. I truly appreciate it and would recommend coming here if you care about excellent service. :) read more

All about money money at this place! You need to do this checkup but $$ extra. Add this to your glass as you need it but $$ extra. Frames are all over priced. And just for lenses they quoted $360+ total out of pocket WTH?? What's the benefit of having insurance? I never had such experience in other optometry. Crazy place! read more

Everyone here is so nice and helpful! I got my glasses within 2 weeks and the staff was communicative with updates. I also had to reschedule my appointment and was able to do so easily. read more

The glasses are overpriced, they quoted me an insane amount for the glasses and lenses after insurance. Almost 550$ or so from the original quote of 1000$ Plus they push you for extra eye checkups and then hand you the bill lat. It's always upselling with these people. Do your price research before saying yes to anything. Do not trust them blindly. read more

So far so good!! Staff is extremely friendly and the doctor is awesome and informative. Happy to have good eye care close by.

I've been a patient for a few years now and I enjoy coming in and the staff treats me like absolutely family like they haven't seen me in a while. I am appreciative as well as glad my insurance covers the services. Everything has been great with glasses and contact lenses and the Dr. Is truly amazing and the staff is incredibly humble. read more

Great team and patient care. I usually go to Costco, but during this pandemic I do not want to be in a place with so many people, plus I don't want to spend hours there for an eye exam and then have to wait to order my contacts. So I decided to call Stratford and I was quickly set up for an appointment. The clinic is very clean and the staff and doctor were really nice. You are able to set up an account with them regarding an order or appointments. Dr Bhakta is really sweet and provides you with very useful information on eye heath. I will be back for my annual eye check up. read more

Dr. Bhakta is an amazing eye doctor. She takes care of your needs Handles each individual with care and is very empathetic. I've been going to her for the past three years and she has been very transparent with important updates regarding my eyes or any recommendations or suggestions. Her and her staff are absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend her to anybody. read more

Terrible! Read this before you get your prescription glasses made from here. 1 - I got my vision tested and then the glasses made. These were received after 2-3 weeks. I took them home and then observed some issues with it. It turned out that the lab in Texas made a mistake and it had to be resent to them for 2-3 weeks more. They did not have the efficiency to test it themselves upon arrival. There was an obvious axis problem. 2 - When I complained about the glasses, the receptionist tried her best to tell me that I should wear it for couple of weeks to get used to it. Save your time. Go somewhere else! For more detailed review contact me. read more

The staff is very friendly. I would recommend Stratford Eye Care to my friends and family.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good options for shades and spectacles and great place.

I'm writing this review solely on the service from Kristina. What a superstar. This was my first pair of glasses and so navigating the process from trying to figure out benefits to choosing a pair of frames was new to me. I didn't realize finding "the" pair could be so tedious. I called around, visited many optometry offices and read Yelp reviews. You Yelpers didn't steer me wrong. From the time I called and spoke with Kristina, I could tell through the phone that she was warm, welcoming and willing to help. She invited me to come in and every step of the way, never hesitated to let me know she was here to help me. When I finally came in, she was SO patient with helping me try on frames, she made recommendations, and she was thoughtful in those recommendations really listening to what I wanted and what I was looking for. She didn't rush me, she didn't get annoyed one bit. I was annoyed with myself and my indecision! lol. But she maintained her disposition the entire visit. I was out of town when my glasses arrived. She made sure to follow up with a phone call even after an email was sent to me to let me know my order was ready. And when I couldn't pick up and asked if someone else could pick up for me, she was so flexible. We talked 30 mins before closing and I told her I would be sending someone quickly to make it in time before they closed. She told me to just let her know when they would be arriving because she was willing to stay after closing to accommodate. I mean, c'mon. Thank you for the stellar service Kristina! You are a shining star in these days of diminishing customer service. You are going to go far! And P.S. I didn't review the doctor here because I came in with a prescription already and didn't interact with her. Also, great selection on frames. Stylish, classic, and good quality! read more

Once again, it is so great to have these people back open and it seems with even better care, considering COVID-19. Felt very safe and a new doctor, who although I absolutely love Dr. Bhakta, was equally caring, very informative and clear. Yes, they have a somewhat limit choice of frames, but they are high-end and excellent. I really appreciate that they have made sure my computer glasses are the safest, blue light reducing on the market. (You know those 12-16 hour days in front of screens). Lastly, it seems that you either live them, all 5's, or you don't, I have no idea how you couldn't but I suppose there are always those who will have something not work, and will complain. For me Dr. Bhakta is the best Eye Doc I have ever had, and her staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and focused on customer service. read more

I was really nervous because this was my first appointment without my mom but everybody made me feel so comfortable ! They were more than happy to explain anything I had a question for, and I had a lot of questions . And when it was time to pick out my frames they were extremely helpful with helping me decide ! The pickup process was also really easy, and my glasses arrived very quickly. Thank youu, see you all soon ! read more

This is by far the best optometry center I have been to. I have been wearing glasses for over 10 years, and have never received as much information about my eye health before. The scans that I was provided helped address a problem I was unaware I had. Dr. Bhakti is very knowledgeable and truly cares for her patients. She made recommendations that had my best interest in mind, both financially and health wise. After receiving my new glasses I was unsure about my new prescription, Dr. Bahkta made an appointment right away and made sure it was the right prescription for me. I also had my glasses resized a few times and not one fuss from any one at Stratford Eyecare. I love my new glasses! If you are shopping around for a new Optometrist this is the place to go. read more

Dr. Bhakta and Christina are awesome :) I went here to get a first pair of glasses and Dr. Bhakta did a very thorough job explaining everything she was doing and why. It was the first time I actually an optometrist educated me on my eyes and eyes in general in that much detail. Christina was very efficient in summing up the pricing for everything and going over the insurance and discounts. I didn't feel embarrassed asking for prices or just being open with what i wanted in with frames. She tried her best to help me find frames i was looking for. Unfortunately, I'm much of an introvert so I prefer to browse on my own but she was pretty understanding and nice. I came back to get contacts and a second pair of glasses and I will probably be back because of the excellent service! read more

I had an amazing experience here at Stratford Eye Care Optometry from start to finish. I made an appointment late Friday evening, and needed new glasses for work ASAP. Christina contacted me early on Saturday morning, and I was able to come in the same exact day! Christina welcomed me, and she made check in and filling out the forms quick and easy. The wait was not long, and Dr. Bhakta was amazing! She was super sweet, informative, and professional. She is everything you would need as an optometrists. She answered all of my questions, and gave great advice. Christina was also very helpful with breaking down what my insurance covered, and she was so patient with me while choosing my frames. I got an amazing price on frames that I really love! I was able to get my glasses in just a week, and I am completely satisfied with the service that I have received from both Christina and Dr. Bhakta. With just two individuals at the practice, their professionalism and service was a 10/10. I highly recommend them, and I will surely be coming back for future visits! read more

I went to this place last Saturday with extremely high expectations based of all the reviews however , my experience was far from that. When I called to make the appointments for both my husband and I, i explained we have two children (4&9) that would not be getting seen but would be joining us. I asked if they were family friendly and the response I got was "Yes". My kids brought trains and were just playing on the floor there was NOT ONE other person in the lobby. They were not even loud. We arrived and everything was going well at first but then as I was getting examined the doctor excused her self from the room ( again , my kids were not being loud or anything , not sure what even prompted her) She had went to tell her assistant to tell my husband that to " keep your kids in this corner" and she pointed to where the chairs were. I didn't even know this occurred. She came back into the exam room and didn't mention a single thing to me. When my exam was finished and I went out to choose glasses that's when my husband told me he no longer wanted to be seen there as he felt the assistant was rude and he thought the place was family friendly. My pupils were dilated so I had to finish , even tho i was uncomfortable because my husband and kids were upset outside. I went through all the motions of choosing frames but the glasses selection is CRAZY SMALL AND LIMITED. The pair I chose I didn't love on top of my out of pocket was about 230 bucks and I've never paid that much before out of pocket with insurance. So i decided to pass on the frames and just get a copy of my prescription and go to a different place with more of a selection. So i paid my exam co pay and left and they said they would email me my prescription. I emailed them after my receipt from my visit came but not my prescription, asking for it along with my PD(the distance between your pupils which you need if you EVER or frames offline anywhere). So they replied saying this : info@stratfordeyes.com via g001.emailsrvr.com Attachments Tue, Apr 16, 9:43 AM (4 days ago) to me Dear Brandy, Attached is your eyeglass prescription from Saturday. We did not provide a PD measurement at the time of your appointment as we are required to do so when a purchase of eyeglasses are made. However, we may provide the measurements with a service fee of $25, no appointment necessary. All opticals provide their PD measurements at the time of a purchase as well. Online retailers also reimburse up to $50 when you purchase glasses and provide to them your PD measurements. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for selecting Stratford Optometry for your eye care needs. Warm Regards, Stratford Eye Care Optometry )O: The second sentence says we did not measure your PD (not true , as I asked the tech while she was measuring my PD " is this the tool to measure PD? in which she replied "Yes") because i did choose a frame! The third sentence contradicts the second when they tell me they will give me my PD for an extra 25 fee with NO APPOINTMENT needed. For 5 years i was getting eye exams from Walmart and Costco and they have NEVER charged me a fee and always provided me with my PD even though I did not purchase frames with them. Now that i have insurance so I wanted to go to a different place which is why i came here. This place Super shady and fee hungry!!!! This place charged my insurance for this exam as well so I now can't get another for a year under my insurance so they should have to given me my PRESCRIPTION AS A WHOLE , i cannot order frames without my PD and she knew my business was going elsewhere so she made a big deal about giving it to me so this in my opinion was wrong. I will never go back here and I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Poor service and overpriced glasses. I went to get my eyes checked and ordered two pairs of glasses, that took for ever to receive. They didn't even call me to let me know that my glasses had arrived, until I called to ask, they pretended that they had just arrived. I Set up an appointment to go get them, my appointment was at 1:30 and the girl that was supposed to help me was at lunch, it wasn't until 2 that she returned I help me. My glasses were too big and to adjust them she left them all bended, $500+ pair of glasses, that by they way they forgot to remove the lab receipt and the receipt said they had paid $173 for I was charged over $500. I asked to get them progressive and they gave me a quote of almost $600 more to make them progressive. Ridiculous! Additionally, they don't even give you suggestions or ideas or even help you to select your glasses. I will never go back there and I suggest to everyone to do a good research before going to an optometrist. read more

Dr. Bhakta if Awesome! I had my appointment on March 16, 2017. I had no idea how my insurance worked because I never had an eye exam. I gave the office a call and Dr. Bhakta and Christina helped me with any questions I had about copays for my eye exam. During my eye exam Dr. Bhakta was very informative and very helpful. When it came time to choose my frames I had a hard time deciding There were so many styles to choose from that I really liked. So, that's where Christina came to the rescue! She helped me find the perfect glasses that fits my face and are really cute too. She made sure to do all she could to assist me. She has exceptional customer service! Thank you guys for making sure I left a happy customer. I've been getting so many compliments about my glasses too! Stratford Eye care is highly recommended by me! Went in for a routine exam where I thought they were going to tell me I had 20/20 vision then I would be on my way. Well, that wasn't the case. I can't remember the last time I had an eye exam, which I shared with the doctor. She did a great job of explaining the various elements of the exam and the purpose for each part. Sadly, it turns out that I need glasses, which brings me to my next part. Diana was extremely patient with me when it was time to choose glasses. She even provided a second opinion and offered suggestions for glasses to try on when she got a sense of my style. Overall, I had a great experience and I'll be back next year for another exam. read more

Quite a let down again. The Doctor's are knowledgeable but I was surprised for an extra service that I did not require and not ask for. Word of advice, disclose this service prior to doing so there won't be no misunderstanding... read more

This is one of the best shops I've been to. They have good selection of frames & use lenses from Essilor. I have about 10 pairs of glasses & sunglasses. I tried getting cheap progressives online before I went into their shop. It's not worth it if your online glasses gives you headaches. I'm sure I could get use to them but why suffer. Christina & Dr. Bhakta where very detailed and explained everything to me. Christina actually knew about the newly released Transitions Xtractive mirror fish when I asked her. I was impressed. I got use to explaining it to other shops that I didn't expect her to know about them. I got two glasses from them but the gold mirror finish is really nice on my Ray Ban frames. They have a slight tint indoors but are mostly clear. read more

My husband has been coming to Stratford for about a year and I often come with and we absolutely love it! We have never felt more welcome and at ease with any doctor in our lives. The staff is so patient and sweet, I feel like family everytime I come in. I recently got my own eyes checked for the first time since I was about five years old. I was scared but Dr. Bhakta made me feel so at ease. I figured out that my chronic migraines were caused by my eyesight and could be fixed with some glasses! My husband and I will be lifetime patients of Stratford Optometry. We wouldn't want to go anywhere else! read more

Brought my adult son here who is developmentally disabled and on the autism spectrum for his first ever eye exam. This doctor and her staff are kind, helpful and compassionate. The doctor was very patient and committed to meeting my son's needs. She discovered he needed glasses. I worried after so many years without, and my son's disabilities that change to eye wear would be met with resistance. But the doctor and her staff approached him in such a way, that he looked forward to getting his new glasses, and now wears them every day. I cannot thank this doctor and her staff enough. I'd rate more stars if I could. A wonderful practice!!! read more

We would never come to this place again. First of all, when we asked them if they accept our insurance they said yes. The sales lady didn't explain well how things work. I can say they have nice and signature glasses but who needs expensive one when you just need is reading glasses. So our insurance covered $200 for our glasses and we tried to pick one less than the amount. Well guess what by the time we get to the final price including the lenses we have to pay over $250 and then today they called us and letting us know that we have a co pay of $65. And we were like why didn't you let us know ahead of time ( this is 5 days later after our appt.) So to summarize how much it cost us (me and my husband) for everything it will cost us $600 which is ridiculous. We only paid $35 from our old optometrist. I don't even know why we even tried this place when all it does is took our money. So watch out for this place and their hidden charges. read more
