I really like the optometrist here. She is thorough, caring and takes the time to explain things, She is definitely a 5 star! On the other hand, other staff members are the complete opposite. No call to let me know my glasses were ready. They claimed to have called and left a message - but no message and no missed call. Clearly they don't know about call display. One time when I called to book an appointment, the woman answering the phone had me on speaker and asked for my name and date of birth. As I could hear others in the background, I knew that others were within earshot. An obvious violation of my privacy and possibly HIPPA. When I brought a pair of glasses in for possible repair, the counter person was unsure and said she would text pictures (which she took) to 'Vic' and 'definitely' get back to me end of day either way. Given that I had never dealt with this employee before, I thought it odd that she did not ask for my name and phone number. When I asked if she wanted my name and contact info she said yes. I guess it really didn't matter because there was no call by end of day. Clearly 1 star. For eye care, I will continue to go here. Over a month and still don't have my glasses. No communication and rude front desk service are the icing. It was my mistake not reading the reviews before I went into this place. Over 5 weeks and my glasses never came. I ended up canceling due to the trust I had with this place. Turns out there was a mistake and the lab was waiting on Bay Vision and Bay Vision was waiting on the lab, I did not get this information from them, I needed up going through my insurance VSP, Bay Vision did not want to help. The lady that kept answering was rude and kept blaming a guy name Vic. Long story short if they would have done their due diligence they would have found the honest mistake but unfortunately this place just played the blame game. read more

Save your time and money. First of all they don't communicate! It takes 3 weeks to get a receipt for your purchase which I don't understand. They take your money and say, I'll send you a receipt. I had to hound them for weeks for a simple receipt. Was told my glasses would be ready in a two weeks. Two weeks roll around and zero communication. After 4 weeks, they tell me the frame is not available. If it was not available, I should have been provided that info instead of just dragging me along for a month. Waste of time. Would have given this zero stars, if given the opportunity ...Horrible staff, no one knows what is going !!I've stopped by there a total of five times to order my prescription safety glasses, and no one has told me that I needed an appointment. Staff keeps telling me to come back when the doctor is available, but he seems to be MIA as well. I finally got a hold of somebody today and they told me that I could not go in and that I needed to make an appointment in order to get seen. this place is a joke, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Communication definitely needs improvement. Everyone should get a receipt, this office does not operate like a business should. This office needs knowledgeable people working here that care and know how to run a business and provide customer service. No one ever knows anything, they don't care and I have to continuously call about my Safety glasses. You sent them out to be redone and said they would rush them. It's over a month and you know nothing. Every week it's a new lie while you're pushing week by week out. My safety glasses are needed for my job. Someone take accountability and answer all these complaints about the same issue. Where are our glasses and why is it taking so long? I'm going to call BBB this is ridiculous. read more

I rarely go to the Optometrist. This experience left a bad impression with me. Nov 2019, I went for an exam. I needed computer glasses, so I was told my provider covers frames. I was right away shown to the high end glasses. Being inexperienced I didn't realize I had another choice besides the high end glasses. I ordered them, then asked family and friends if I paid to much. Everyone said I was ripped off. My wife even said they got her the first time with the high end glasses. I sent an email stating to cancel my order and how I felt taken advantage of. I received a message from Bay Vision about my complaint. They never mentioned if I could cancel my order or not. I must have contacted them 3-4 times without a response. When I finally was able to get a hold of someone in late December they said they had canceled my order and refunded my money. As of Jan 2020 I contacted my provider and asked if I could get glasses, because my account still shows my provider was charged the full amount. I stated I have no glasses. My provider is trying to work it out, but Bay Vision is sounding to be a business you can't trust. I will never go back and informed my family members not to return either. I want to feel comfortable and not ripped off. It's like a gym membership, once they get your money they don't care about you. Shame on you Bay Vision. You did help open my eyes to your dirty ways. read more

First off nice fake review Debbie P. Pretty sad when you have to have your employees do reviews. My husband left this optometrist and took our children elsewhere and I am all about second chances, so I stayed . He was annoyed because he felt they tried too hard with sales pressure. I myself was told that it would take five to 10 days for a lens replacement because the prescription was way off. The "owner " Vic told me that I could keep my glasses so I had something to use in the meantime. I called a week later and my glasses were still not in. I waited another week and my glasses were still not in. After 1 month I walked in and said where the hell are my glasses. I made the receptionist call the lab and find out what exactly went on. It turns out that the lab needed my frames, you know the ones the owner said I can keep so I had something to use in the meantime. So thank God that I brought them in with me and gave them to these people that don't know how to run a business. 1 months for a lens replacement is absolutely ludicrous! I called the front desk and told them I wanted to speak with the owner manager whoever that guy is and I was told I'd have to set up an appointment to speak with him FOR HIS MISTAKE!? NO comical I would never recommend this place.EVER! So technically they lost four customers. They couldn't care less about customer service, they just want to make that money. read more

First time to this location. Upon arrival I was greeted very pleasantly by a young lady at the front desk and then a gentleman. I filled out the necessary paperwork for your first visit and I was brought in for my appointment at the scheduled time. At first when I viewed the optometrist I was very leery because she looks so young probably the same age as my daughter. I have been wearing glasses for the last 15 years and I've always felt more confidence having a senior optometrist work with me because I believe they come with more experience. I was contemplating leaving in search for an older eye doctor. I did not leave I allowed this young person to perform my eye examination. To my surprise I was totally appreciative of her knowledge and the information she provided me. She explain things to me as well as pointed out her slight concern of my retinal picture. Dr. Aura told me things that I was never told in other my eye examinations visits about the eye. She was very nice and pleasant to deal with she appeared like she was truly concerned and felt I needed to see a ENT before next Saturday. I really enjoyed doing this survey? The staff is very pleasant the wait wasn't that long. Their pricing is very good and I paid out of pocket (no eye insurance). I encourage you to go see them if your looking for a experienced eye doctor and a pleasant office experience with her staff. read more

This place offers the safety glasses my mom needs for work so I took her there. They are easy to get to, right off foothill, close to the 580 freeway and there's plenty of parking because they share it with Safeway. Their lobby is tiny and you have to be buzzed in to look at their frames, they don't have them out in display like they would at other optical places. They are small but their selection is nice, they are closed Sundays... found out the hard way. Very friendly and good on communicating with their clients/patrons. read more

Two years ago when I had my eye appointments at Totalvision, Dr. Lee was my optometrist. When I recently called to make another appointment, I was surprised that only Dr. Yee was left. It turned out that Dr. Lee had stopped commuting from Sacramento due to family and commute reasons. Since I never met Dr. Yee during my prior visits, I was not sure how I would like him as my optometrist. I've also recently decided to seriously look into having Lasik. It was important for me to find an doctor that I can trust and provide post-operation care. After my recent visit, I can affirm that Dr. Yee is just as good as Dr. Lee. My felt I received a full, comprehensive eye examination like I always did at Totalvision. Dr.Yee was just as knowledgeable and friendly as Dr. Lee. He was very easy to talk to and provided detailed unbiased answers to my questions. I feel confident that I can proceed with planning for having Lasik next year. Aside from meeting Dr. Yee for the first time, it was great seeing Aida still helping out at the front desk. She is definitely knowledgeable and friendly as always. read more

I have been wearing glasses since I was a small child and I cannot stand not having anything but corrected vision as close to 20/20 as possible. I rely on my optometrist to give me the best vision possible and to screen me for glaucoma that runs in my family. I was really satisfied with my check up with Dr Arora. They do have 2 locations but I visited the one in Hayward. The office is warm and inviting and has a staggering array of frames. What is a woman to do with so much choice? I like to make sure that I have annual check ups so I went in to have my eyes checked by Dr Arora. She is very pleasant and knowledgeable and patient enough to take the time to answer all of my questions. I felt confident that all of my concerns were being addressed and I must say that the exam was thorough and when all was said and done I had a complete eye exam with no issues left unresolved or questions unanswered. After the examination she handed me over to Vick. He was super helpful and patient. As I said before the number of frames to choose from is staggering. He was helpful and attentive in helping me pick out a great pair of frames. Don't you hate it when you are half blind and you need to pick out new frames. You try them on and you cannot see an inch in front of your face so you have the mirror up to your nose trying to figure out if they suit you or not. I normally end up trying on half the store. Vick was pretty patient and he helped me choose a great pair. They assisted with making sure that I had all the required documentation for my flexible spending and they helped me decipher what was covered with my insurance. The service at Bay Vision is excellent and it is good to feel confident when protecting your eye sight. read more

I thought the selection of frames wasn't that great, they don't have a lot of modern or contemporary frames, mostly frames for old people; i.e. round, "geeky" frames. They do carry good brands though such as ray ban, D&G, etc. The doctor is really nice too. The downside is they don't make the prescriptions there, so you have to wait about a week to get your glasses as opposed to somewhere like Lenscrafters who does it on-site. read more

I ordered a replacement prescription a week and a half ago that was already on file from my previous exam. Was excited to get a phone call yesterday, notifying me that my replacement frames were in, because I was in dire need of them for work. Come to find out, they ordered the wrong frames! How could you order the wrong frames, when my previous prescription information is on file?! Now I have to wait until the office manager returns on Monday to place the order again, and wait even longer for my prescription to actually arrive! Extremely irate at the lack of attention in the staff. Safe to say I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

My glasses, even with insurance, were very pricey, but that's what you get for selecting a higher end frame and having coke bottle lenses, I suppose. Vick, the office manager (who also apparently runs their other office in Oakland) was helpful and didn't try to upsell me on everything...their products speak for themselves. He gave me the best possible price (with some price breaks) where I didn't feel like I got taken to the cleaners. I've been to some other optometry centers, but they all could not touch Bay Vision's selection of both high end and affordable frames. They close at 2 on Saturdays, but I didn't feel any pressure that I was being rushed so they could leave. It's a small place in the Foothill Safeway plaza with plenty of parking. It was a little weird they buzz you into the actual frames section, but I guess it's to keep things separate. I haven't picked up the frames yet, but I have no reason to believe the service won't be solid on that front too. read more

We got 2 pair of eyeglasses for my kids, the first one was fine and the second pair was supposed to be more detailed.My younger son has poor vision and we wanted thinner lens. They offered us high index which supposed to be the thinest. Vic the sales guy there promised it takes a few days and will call once its ready. I walked in after 2 weeks and it was ready but no follow up. We paid for high index lenses they gave us polycarbonate. Vic said the insurance company doesn't accept high index for 14 yr old. He should know this since they deal with this everyday.I called the insurance today to find out and they don't accept any of those. It's upto the optometry to decide the cost and charge the customer. Vic absolutey lied to us and i am not happy with their services, all wanted was thinner lens for my kid. Please stay from these liars. read more

Me and my mother have been going to total vision for years, they are really caring and try toworkout to make things better with your insurance company. I have 2 insurances through my dad and one through my dad because I am a student, and I got tons of color contact lenses and eye glasses. The lady in the is very chill front tries to help and answer any questions, and the doctor is caring and chill too. They are people like us that understand and offer their proffesionalism and their friendliness to their costumers. I've went to other optomologists and I feel doctors are biased... buit this one is an Asian doc he is really cool and compassionate. read more

She was very slow, she was very rude in the way she treats customers. I have never seen poor customer service in my life. Not a very big selection of glasses either. So - 'Vic' did call me about six hours after I picked up my glasses. Seems the receptionist was wrong in regard to Bay Vision not fitting and checking the product for fit and accuracy. Do I want to come back - hmm - Richmond to Hayward and he did not offer to pay for windshield time. Been living with the glasses and checking them myself - made frame adjustments. Now I have to try to get Bay Vision to send me some replacement frame nose pads. Never had nose pads fly off glasses in such short order. They are small, clear silicone and impossible to find when no longer where they belong. The receptionist gave me the name of their supplier which may be of some help - I paid an embarrassing amount of money for these glasses and would think that some principle in this firm could at least pretend to care about the product they are selling?? read more
