Live snail crawling through our burger...
    Brittany M.

I visited this restaurant today after a fun day wedding dress shopping with two girl friends. We were in the area and starved after our long morning and decided to stop at this patio in the area for lunch. When our food arrived my friend opened her burger and was shocked to find a live snail crawling across her burger.... The waitress was nice and brought her new food and removed her food from the bill. Honestly, this is so far beyond acceptable for a restaurant we couldn't do anything but try and laugh it off. The waitress was kind and obviously it isn't her fail but the fake that a manager or chef didn't come to apologize and completely cover our meal is shocking. Our friend had to sit and pick at our meals until her new food came and when it finally did come she obviously didn't have an appetite anymore. Definitely would not return or recommend.

It's suitable for gatherings, birthdays and is fully functional during the dance nights on the patio. Patio is covered and heated and on Friday & Saturday nights will only offer bottle service and dance parties with a live DJ. We made a reservation for Friday evening on the patio. Unfortunately, the servers seated all couples cramped in one corner, even though there were many tables available; that made everyone uncomfortable. We ordered Red Wine, "Trio Dip" and "Spaducci Skewers". The food was delicious, but we could've enjoyed our night even more if the sitting arrangements were better.

The table ordered a bunch of different items. Everyone has mixed opinions about their food. The sliders, this was so incredibly dry that I had to ask for any sauce to eat it. Paired with fries which were tasty. I had asked to have my food packed (all items ) they didn't pack half of it. The service was good, she was sweet the ambiance was nice but overall, the food review for most guest present was below average. Several chicken skewers brought to the table were uncooked (pink) and had to sent back for further cooking.

We booked our reservation through their online phone system which was kind of unique as it takes down her info and number and time we wish to reserve for.... Our whole group arrived promptly for dinner on the weekday and was greeted at the front who appeared to be the owner with glasses. We told him our reservation name and time and info, and he checked but for some reason couldn't locate our info, but eventually found it... We were seated and because it was 7pm, it was busy... We sat there waiting for someone to greet us or to receive menus... Nothing for over 10+ minutes. We've seen new people come in and they got menu, water and bread pretty fast.. We were starting to wonder is it because we're not Greek or something to not get any attention... Then, our server informed us that he'll be with us but he was quite busy, so we understood... Poor guy didn't have the support staff to help him accordingly... Eventually, we got some water, we got menu's and we got some bread, so we ordered the following... Fried Calamari- $26+ - They have grilled or fried option, and really, can't go wrong with either one, but we got the fried version and it tasted quite good and fresh... It came with a small little cup sauce of tsitsiki. Cheese Saganaki- $19+ - An older gentlemen would come out with this hot pan with cheese and he'll pour some liquid on it which will make it flambee, so that is interesting but also a bit of a fire hazard if it catches someone nearby... - The cheese can be said to be salty, a bit sour, and would be fitting to enjoy on some bread that you're given with some butter... Eating on its own is okay. For mains, my bro got the meat entrees which consists of lamb chops, grilled chicken kabob, and sausage for $33+ and it comes with side greek salad and steamed veggies and roast potatoes. My partner got the pan fried cod fish with cold potato mash.. I believe its $30+... The fried cod fish tasted like salted fish in a sense, but a bit dry for our liking... Not sure it paired well with cold potato mash though. Lastly, we got the grilled octopus tentacles with side greek salad, and roast potatoes and steam veggies for $36+. - My bro gf and I both got the same dish, and when we ate the grilled octopus, it didn't taste fresh and the texture was not good. We didn't really mentioned anything until the end because our server was quite busy... They mentioned their seafood is fresh every two days or so, but we can tell the difference between the calamari freshness versus the octopus... We didn't want anything, but thought to share this concern as they admitted there was another table that expressed this as well... We didn't want anything out of it, but just sharing our experience really... As a proactive owner, they should realize this and know the correct resolution to ensure customer satisfaction, but basically disappeared. One thing to note, we gave the front desk owner our bday cake, which we'd assume they'd put it in a fridge to keep it cool or something, but they didn't, so when we got our cake at the end, it melted and was quite a disappointment... It appears this owner not only lack the basic services to customers and attention, but doesn't realize birthday cakes should be in the fridge to keep the consistency to enjoy after... For spending close to $300, you'd think this staple establishment would be a wow factor for services, food and quality... We can say, the only real effort came from our server trying to salvage the night and all, but still the lack of care from the owner really show this isn't the place to be and to consider elsewhere. Overall, the highlight was the calamari, greek salad... Everything else wasn't really much to brag about or stood out.

Me and some family members were in the area, and decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated promptly and then, for the longest time ... nothing. As it turned out, we'd spend a lot longer at this restaurant than we had anticipated. After about 20 minutes, a kind and apparently exhausted waitress appeared, so we ordered drinks and saganaki to start. 10 minutes later, our drinks appeared, and we ordered our main courses then. Although the menu gave prices for wine by the glass, half litre or bottle, we were told that they don't have enough wine to offer any more than a glass at a time. Strange, and unexpected. Eventually, the saganaki (Greek flaming cheese) arrived, and it was really, really good - a generous triangle of grilled, flaming cheese, easily split between the three of us. It was served with some odd bread, which resembled buttered and toasted hot dog or burger buns. This helped take the edge off our hunger as we waited for our main course. And waited. Looking at the time, I noticed that we had already spent over 60 minutes in the restaurant, which was extremely chilly on a cold winter's evening. Many customers, including us, wore their coats throughout the evening. Apparently, the restaurant dining area is heated only by two electric fire places. Our waitress came out and let us know that we had to wait because my daughter's order of octopus was taking a while. At this point, we had already committed to being here, so we had no choice but to see it through. Finally, the food came out. My daughter's octopus was, sadly, overcooked and tough, but still tasty, and the lemon roasted potatoes were excellent. My husband's roasted lamb did not seem like it was prepared as a roast, as there was no browning or roast] flavor, but seemed to have been prepared in a pressure cooker or slow cooker. I had ordered the Moussaka, and had high expectations, based on my memory of Milo's creamy, eggplant-filled, nicely seasoned Moussaka of my distant, long-ago previous visit. However, my portion of Moussaka had the oddest texture: rather mushy and grainy. The well-seasoned, savory tasting ground beef of my memories had now been transformed into a rather average-tasting ground beef mixture that would have been equally at home in a sloppy joe. And I could not find an eggplant in the casserole at all ... well, maybe it had somehow been reduced to such mushiness that it lost it's eggplant quality, but I could swear that it was missing. It was all edible food, though, but not up to our expectations. I hate to give any place a lowly, two-star review. I had hoped for much more, because there is so much about Milo's to raise one's hopes: it's not a big chain, but locally, family-run; it has an appealing and timeless Mediterranean decor; and the menu offers many interesting Greek choices. A few small changes would be an upgrade: better bread, some additional staff and a few space heaters would be a good start. Milo's is the type of restaurant that I would love to support, but I've read enough reviews with similar observations that I am unlikely to return.

It was a really nice spot for a special night... cozy, welcoming, and not overly loud. We enjoyed everything we ordered, but the saganaki was definitely the standout. The wait staff brought it out and poured a shot of liquor over the cheese before lighting it on fire at the table, which added a fun touch without feeling gimmicky. Beyond the presentation, the cheese itself was excellent... crisp on the outside, warm and soft inside, and really well seasoned. Easily something I'd come back for. The mango ginger spritz was light and refreshing, not too sweet, the Australian lamb chops were cooked nicely, tender, and full of flavor without being overly heavy. We ended the perfect night with baklava and vanilla ice cream. It was flaky, just sweet enough to be shared between us. Portions weren't huge, but we left feeling content. We did have to make a reservation well in advance, which I'd definitely recommend. Prices feel appropriate for a special occasion rather than an everyday dinner. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great experience and a place I'd happily come back to.

While in line, someone suggested the souvlaki and I was already aiming to get a gyro so I knew we were gonna be good. Parking was busy but not impossible to find here. It's fast casual. You can get food, some extra desserts and drinks/coffee and extra pita/flatbread or tzatziki sauce. I got a gyro and a "small" poutine. Let me just say that I've had a LOT of gyros and this one was by far the best. Tons of meat, toppings, just enough tzatziki that I didn't want to order an extra side (still should've). The poutine was enough to feed a family of four. Holy smokes this was spectacular. I'd have gotten extra gravy bc it's so much tastier here in Canada than anyplace in the USA. Family owned, this is a great place to come alone or with friends. You can eat something different every single time and it's just so delicious. I will be back. The food was predictable, always - and not in a bad way - it just hit the spot after a night of drinking, or when you are hungover. The salad will forever have too much dressing and will be the unhealthiest thing but the souvlaki here was honestly the most shocking thing. Mind you I have not been in six and a half or seven years so don't take my word for it, but for a place to be around this long and still have loyal customers - they're really doing something right, it's not just sheer luck so give it a go! There is zero ambiance or date night feel here, okay. Don't take your girl unless you've been married over ten years. It's boys or girls night out material only. haha
