I came here to have some drinks and bar food with my wife and her siblings. The restaurant was very quiet for a Thursday night. There were only a few tables occupied in the restaurant. We ordered the daily special 2lb wings with fries for $17.99. We chosed jerk and roastic garlic red pepper. The jerk flavour was good but they could have tossed more sauce in the wings. The roasted garlic red pepper was a dry seasoning. The wings are very large in size. The french fries were fresh cut yukon potatoes seasoned just right. Now for the bad. The wings tasted dry or may have been refried. I would expect them to fry a fresh batch of wings for my order. We ordered the 1lb mussels with white sauce. The waitress told us they were almost out of mussels and not enough for 1 lb so they gave it to us for free. The mussels were served with buttery white sauce with green peppers and scallions. Mussel meat was small but the overall flavour was pleasing. We also ordered 2 pitchers of Stella Artois. Draught Beer was fine not watered down. Overall the experience was ok but the quality of the wings can improve. The server was new and she was not familiar with the menu offerings but I was able to download it myself on their website. If you're in Pickering this place is a decent place to meet up and have a few drinks and pub food. P.S. they donhave daily and everyday specials. Very disappointed! We came with a party of 9 at 10:40 PM and were told they don't accept walk-ins after 9:00. Seeing as their posted closing time is 1:00 AM, this was absolutely ridiculous. We were a group of older adults, not drunk or disorderly. Well, seeing as they don't want the business, they won't be getting any from us in the future, regardless of the time. And we'll tell our friends to stay away too. Boston Pizza in the plaza right across the street gladly served us. The food and service was great. Guess where we'd go again? read more

We typically go to our local pub but today thought we'd pop into Sabina's and it was horrible. We ordered quesadillas and OMG the rancid odor from them was horrible (cheese clearly gone off).... Even my husband immediately voiced his concern to me. You know it's BAD when he speaks up! We had no choice but to point it out but after we both took 3 bites each because we weren't 100% sure if it was cheese gone bad or a Spice ?? They took them back and made us new ones but you could still smell the off-cheese (not as bad but it was there) so we couldn't eat it. we didn't complain the second time, but one would think that when our plates were cleared the server would have said something and uhhh perhaps not charged us?! we also ordered cauliflower bites. - they were terrible (clearly frozen and just dumped in fryer, but we have ordered them from many pubs so I wouldn't bother with them here). we won't go back for food ever again. both of us are suffering just from like 3 bites of the quesadillas. NO WONDER majority of the locals from this pub are now coming to ours!!!! we just wanted low key today and not socialize - lol so we came here for down time. Never again. Gross. read more

This is one of my favourite spots. I have yet to be disappointed with any dish I have tried. Their home made soups are amazing. My favourite meal is the Grilled Mediterranean Salad with steak. The steak is always cooked to perfection and tender. The whole salad is served in an edible bowl freshly made. I can also vouch for the French Fries, Cheese Burgers and Breakfasts. Their portion size is large, so you get quality and quantity. The staff is friendly, efficient and have a lot of patience. They have daily specials including Sunday which is 40% off for seniors. You can't buy groceries that inexpensive! read more

Not a great place. First off the place was cold and dirty looking. Bathrooms were disgusting. Tried to get a seat away from the windows and was told there was a larger party coming in and the back area was going to be full. Needless to say we didn't see this large party during our visit. Food wasn't great. Pretty sure nothing was fresh just microwaved. And cold food as well. Service was bad as the waitress couldn't tell us the special. And she couldn't remember our order when we asked for two separate bills for each couple there. This place has been many different restaurants and they all have been bad. read more

I went here last year to watch the Mayweather fight. Last minute decision had me venturing out to the burbs and Im glad I did. This place is severly underated. Ample Parking, The food was delicious, flavourful and a good portion size and the drinks were really good. Not too sweet not too strong. The bathroom was kept clean. Talk about a bad location. This restaurant is located in an outlet mall surrounded by furniture stores and other discount clothing stores with no visible signage from any main road. We happened to be in this Pickering outlet mall visiting a lighting store when we accidentally stumbled upon this place. It was late Saturday afternoon and after unsuccessful afternoon of shopping for home decor items, this place seemed like a good place to stop in to unwind. The Courtyard claims to be a "casual dining and pub" establishment so we decided to order a pint of MGD and Kronenberg each and try out the quintessential pub fare of burgers and wings. My husband ordered a burger with bacon, sauteed onions and cheese and I ordered a pound of cajun dusted wings with their suicide hot sauce on the side. Our beers arrived refreshingly cold with perfect carbonation. As we sat and watched the beginning of the leafs game, our food arrived. The wings were a good size (8 in a lbs order), deep-fried and dusted with well balanced cajun dusting that tasted of herbs and spices. The wings could have used more dusting but I prefer my wings to be slightly under-seasoned as I'm trying to avoid intaking too much sodium. The suicide hot sauce was a little hotter than most suicide sauces I've tried at other wing joints. If you can imagine a cross between St. Louis' hotter than hell and Duff's Armageddon, that would be The Courtyard's suicide sauce. So far, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. My husband's burger was a towering monster stacked with a good 1/3 lb patty (from what I could see) with nicely melted cheddar, mounds of sauteed mushrooms and the usual condiments of lettuce, red onions, a slice of tomato and a pickle on a soft kaiser bun. Although the patty was cooked to more than medium well, the burger was still juicy. All the condiments complimented each other very nicely and the burger was definitely one of the better ones I've had in recent years. The fries were a bit of a disappointment in comparison (a lot like the old KFC fries) but all in all, the food was very good. Too bad their ho-hum location had only managed to fill barely half the restaurant on a Saturday evening with a leaf's game on. I do hope this place will stay in business so I guess I'll be going back there soon. read more

Wife and I came here for dinner today. We are looking for a new pub closer where we live. We were a bit worried on entering the parking lot, the pub is located in a area full of retail stores. However, once we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and seated quickly. The pub is clean and there are a lot of TVs to watch the game. I opted for the wing special ($9 for a pint and a pound of wings) my wife got the chicken parm dinner. The service was quick and the food was really good. The wings were perfect and a steal for 9bux. My draught was also great. My wife was very happy with her dinner. They seem to run really good specials we will be back to try more of the food. I'll be back with the boys for drinks and the game. Visited here for lunch. Service was prompt, friendly, and welcoming. The wings were huge. I had the suicide and it was truly hot, not vinegar tasting like most places. My two young sons also enjoyed their meals. One had nachos and the other had the kids wings. The fries are great too. This is a much better place than Portly Piper, which is in Ajax. read more

Our waitress Sabrina was wonderful. A family birthday party on her third shift, she did an amazing job. I was disappointed in my liver and onions with bacon, not enough onions or bacon. It came with fries and not mashed. My husband had the steak and lobster tail. Steak was thin, well done on one end and bloody on the other side. But we were there for the family. read more

We've eaten lunch here a couple of times since it's been Sabina's. (we weren't happy with it when it was the Courtyard). Food is tasty and served hot (or cold if that is what was ordered), very reasonable prices and friendly wait staff. The drinks are quite reasonably priced as well. Menu has a lot of items and variety which is surprising for the size of the restaurant. And I found them accommodating to me and my son who avoid eating certain food groups and they seem willing to sub in other items. Atmosphere is alright, nothing spectacular, could use a little updating, but is still pleasant enough. They have an outdoor patio area as well for use in the good weather. We've tried the wings-very good, steak sandwich-very good, turkey sandwich-very good, fajitas-really good. So all in all it's worth going to here. And we'll be back again and again. read more

The food is always great here no matter what meal you are coming for. The coffee is great; the alcohol beverages are reasonably priced, especially compared to Franchise operations nearby. The service has been great for us over the years since it has been taken over. The staff is always pleasant and willing to listen to how you would like your food prepared. I am impressed with the owner keeping the staff he had at this restaurant while it changed names. read more

I used to love coming here for the longest time and I went there tonight and was greeted by someone who was very rude to me. As I am 18 I understand that some places ask for you to leave at a certain time but she was extremely rude about it. I'm okay with having to leave but she was not polite about it at all. And she was also not very nice to the group I was with as well. Overall I was very unhappy with this experience and it was upsetting since this was my first time back in a bit. read more

Atmosphere lacking big time. We were seated close to the drafty door even though the place wasn't that busy on a Friday night at dinnertime. There was no music playing??? Strange. Our waitress was extremely low energy, not very welcoming. We ordered 3 entrees for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids). One of the entrees was chicken strips with fries--instead we ended up with chicken "dinos" which were preformed, dinosaur shaped nuggets. When we pointed out the error, we were offered an apology but not a solution to the problem. The Hawaiian pizza was not bad and the tuscan chicken wrap was passable although it was a bit dry and lacking something. I can safely say we won't be back. Disappointing. My wife, daughter and I attended a birthday party with approximately 35 others on a Saturday evening. My daughter and I had the veal parmesan with linguine in alfredo sauce. The menu states the veal (or chicken) is "lightly breaded veal or chicken". In fact the two pieces of veal were the same breaded minced veal patties you buy in a box in the frozen food section of any grocery store. Topped with a melted slice of mozzarella cheese, and the linguine, it was filling but definitely NOT worth the $14.50 a plate. The dinner included a piece of garlic bread which was a ¼ piece of a ciabatta bun grilled, small and again disappointing. My wife had the blackened salmon with spaghetti for $13. She said it was "alright" but wouldn't bother having it again, and not worth the money. With 3 drinks (one cocktail) and 2 desserts the bill was just under $80. The Servers were pleasant and attentive and tipped well for their service, not because of the food. Don't know about the women's, but the men's washroom was dirty, dingy, wet floor and pieces of toilet paper all over - a turn off for sure. Guess that's why they have dim lights in the bathroom. Considering competition in the area we expected better food for the prices, we will not likely be returning anytime soon. read more

The Courtyard in Pickering has gotten to be our favourite restaurant - and we eat out a lot. The food is always great (try the seafood linguini or Salmon teriyaki) - always with ample portion sizes. The staff is very friendly and super efficient. And as an added bonus, if you are a frequent diner, buy the discount coupon book. You can't get better food or service. read more

I have been here a number of time and always have had good service. My last visit had really disappointed me and it saddens me to say that it may be a long time till I go back. Was about 2 Friday's ago we sat out side , there was 6 of us. Service was really slow. We ordered and the brought out our food. All were served but me. We waited thinking she would be right back out, but no food came. At this point everyone was eating but me. One of the ladies I was with complained and at that point we were told that my ticket was missed and they were making my food now. By the time it came out most were done eating. I had the teriyaki chicken and it really was not good but at this point I was not going to complain. Even after saying we were not happy and asking to see a manager ( we were told only a supervisor was in) no one came out to see us and we were told because I ate some of my food no discount could be given. Get this, they said that if I refused my meal, then they would not have charged me. Really !!! Very disappointed in a place I use to recommend to others. Was there on March 25, 2013 to try the prime rib dinner. We did find the place a little on the noisy side. I guess this normal for a pub environment. The prime rib was a very large cut ( thick ) and rare-medium rare, as I ordered it. The presentation was good but that is where good ended. The meat was not very tender, rather a bit fibrous and had little taste. The au jus also had little taste. The addition of some salt improved the taste slightly. The service was good and the servers cheerful. Would not go back for the prime rib but I will try some other menu items at a later date. Was looking forward to a good prime rib dinner. I will have to continue my quest in the Pickering/Ajax area. read more

Great location, I liked it when it was the previous chain. Still like the atmosphere. Always enough seating. Went during the Jays playoffs, and they were couldn't handle the amoutn of people. food was late and some things ignored. Servers tried their best, but aren't used to large crowds. Food is decent and their promos are awesome prices. I'd go again, but not during peak times. read more
