First me and my friends have been to the Olde Oak and we were so happy to have found this lovely restaurant and bar. If you love waffles the recipe for these waffles will nor disappoint. What whatever deal the owner made for the OTE waffle recipe was a good one!! My on friend said the chorizo on the sweet potatoes hash was the best she has had in a long time. My other friend enjoyed the breakfast tacos with the brisket and gravy because it was so savory and satisfying!! Thank you so much to the owner and dark haird server who are so friendly and proud of their place. It is a beautiful mural and bar and atmosphere that we will definitely come back to again when we come thru Columbus! read more

Great neighborhood restaurant/bar! A fun addition to OTE. They have a large bar with plenty of TVs. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had the walking taco which was great! My wife had the brisket tacos. She liked them! The menu has a little bit of something for everyone. They have a good local draft list. I was super excited to see they have Platform Cocoa Suave on tap... one of my top fave local beers! I can't wait for them to have churros to go with the beer. We will be back again soon. read more

We decided on this place because Hang Over Easy was super busy. I wish we had just waited. The only good thing I can say was the drink prices were cheap, the food was bland and over cooked or the wrong food served and it took 45 minutes to get it. And they were far from busy. There was one waitress/bar back that was rude AF(waited 35 minutes for a mimosa) We won't go back. The chicken quesadilla was bland and had very little cheese to chicken ratio. The eggs were over cooked and the sweet potatoes were cold. I have no idea how the waffle was as we were given a chocolate chip waffle instead of regular and we were ready to leave by the time(30 minutes later) the correct waffle was brought out. read more

Being a (newish) place close to where I live, this place has become one of my favorite go-to spots! In the warmer months, they have garage doors that are open, so you get a bit of the outdoor vibe. The place has a spacious interior, enough tables, but not overly crowded. They have food specials each night of the week, and they overall are pretty good deals. Average drink prices, and a full bar of offerings. My only 'negative' is that sometimes the service has been a tad slow. read more

We went for the first time tonight with a friend who had eaten there before. Everything was delicious and service was great! We started off with the Smoking Barrels. I loved them. For dinner I had the street tacos with brisket and the sweet corn side. My fiancé had the Arepas which was also delicious and a side of fries that were just simply good! We will be back! read more

The restaurant seemed confused at what it wants to be. Not very inviting. Atmosphere is confusing. Our server grabbed our drinks for us then 20 minutes later there was never a touch back. We tried to order an appetizer with our drinks but our server told us he would take our entire food order at the same time, again, 20 minutes had gone by without him returning. He then continued to walk around to every table around ours but never came back to us. Had to walk up to the bar just to close out the drinks. Never got around to eating on our date night (which we never get to do together, we are both bartenders). Ended up going somewhere else. Overall would not recommend. Sadly will not return. read more

Mimosas were not bad but they gave my lady and I different glasses than the couple next to us and it confused me but the food pretty terrible. I took 2 bites of a burrito and asked for my check. Bartender asks if I need a box I say no she comes out with my check and the burrito I took a bite from was still on the check lol. Checked this place out for the first time last night. Loved that they have happy hour on Sundays. Had a nice sized glass of Pinot noir for $4. Ambiance was ok...not very cozy. Service was great. The food was really tasty! We had the buffalo wings which were only $5 during happy hour. They were cooked well and had great flavor. A tad bit salty, but overall good wings. I ordered the chili and man was it delicious! I also had three chicken tacos. They were fresh and yummy. My fiancé ordered the brisket arepa and wasn't really a fan. He said it was really greasy. Overall, we liked our meal and would probably return. The Browns game was on and it got really loud, but that didn't really bother me. What we did find a bit odd was the overwhelming smell of weed. I don't know if our neighbors at the next table reeked of it or if they were smoking back in the kitchen. LOL. But man, I think I left with a contact buzz. read more

The service is absolutely horrible! We have been there for happy hour about 4 times since December and the service has been progressively worse each time. The last time was about 2 weeks ago, no one waited on us after every one around was served I decided to go to bar and order drinks. They brought them Tony's and I had to ask if we could order food. Food took forever. My coworker ordered Mac snd cheese and of course had to ask for silverware. Everyone working acted like we were bothering them. Traveling in Columbus and hotel had no food. While I normally like venturing out, had lots of work to do and reluctantly went out. Stop by here. I really wanted to like this place, especially because they have such great happy hour prices, but it almost fell short of edible. My husband got the $5 burger special, which was surprisingly a very big burger, but you have to pay for toppings and fries, which means the $5 burger really costs $9 which isn't much of a savings compared to their regular menu burger. The fries were good, but there was nothing special about the burger. I got the nachos and which were half price for happy hour. What I was brought was a cold, inedible plate of assembled nachos that never got put in the oven. It was truly gross. It took ten minutes to get the bartender's attention and he was very apologetic. He took it back and they made me a new plate, but at this point, I was a little grossed out. The new nachos he brought out were lukewarm and the bottom line is that the queso sauce they make for it isn't good at all. It's too thick and clumpy, has an unpleasant brownish color, and didn't taste very good. Our server didn't charge us for the nachos, which I appreciated. This is the only reason I give 2 stars, because our server was good. The atmosphere felt off and the concept of the restaurant really didn't come together. All that could be looked over if the food was decent, but it was really poor. read more

This establishment was very clean. It's a bit chilly in here but if your drinking you'll warm up lol. For smaller children bring a light jacket. This place is Kid friendly and has a couple high chairs. Very nice location. Parking... it was easy to find parking it's across every street on each intersection plus there is parking lots on each side of the establishment. Overall Good service. Bartender was great. Prices weren't bad at all Okay.....on to the food. Food was HOTT!!!! That's one thing i didn't have to worry about. Flavors were amazing and i didn't have to wait all day for my meal. I loved that. Fries was crisp and even though there wasn't a kids menu they provided me small options instead of nothing. So yeah I'll come back five stars for now. So, so good! Great to have a hangout place in this spot. I went on the first night for their soft opening. You can expect some hiccups on the very first night, especially when they are slammed. I wouldn't have known this was their first night but how professionally and seamlessly everyone handled everything. There were some things they ran out of which is to be expected not knowing they would be so busy. I had the Smoking Barrels which was wonderful. I would even venture to say the portion was TOO big. Trust I have NEVER said that. Oh I ate it all...cause...well...you know. They have lots of veggie and vegan options also but not exclusively so. There's so much more I want to try and I can't wait to get back. Also very impressed with how the owner (not sure if she's partnered with someone) dove in and bussed, chatted and served along with all the other staff. That is what make a great staff. read more

I don't understand why anyone would go here when you can go up the street and actually have good service and good food. So this a new neighborhood place in Olde Towne East. Walkable from my place. Super convenient!! My first visit was just for drinks, and might I add the wine pours are very generous! However I went in last week for trivia and 50¢ wings and they were AWFUL!! Bone dry and flavorless. They ran out of either money, furniture, or ideas because there are large empty spaces throughout the restaurant. There was a section by the kitchen which had nothing in it but a random wooden chest against the wall?? Some of the walls have some sort of old western themed painting. But even that didn't make sense with the cowgirl having ying yang earrings. Food: Salt. It had noneMexican Greek fusion? Idk what to call it. Went to look for a place to eat breakfast. They had their big garage door entryway open. We were greeted right away by the helpful team behind the bar. They had hand sanitizer on each table and were quick to come give us the menus abc specials. We ordered breakfast. My wife had the BELT, my daughter had chocolate chip waffles, and I ordered the breakfast nachos. Food came out quick and hot! Everything was delicious. My wife's sandwich was stacked with eggs, tomato, bacon and lettuce. She got the avocado slices on top of that! She also had the breakfast sweet potatoes. Her meal was excellent and good portions! The waffle came out just like my daughter order and was perfect for her. My breakfast nachos came out heaping with eggs, chorizo, black beans, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, cheese and sour cream and brunch sauce! I have a new favorite breakfast meal! The Olde Oak is all around fantastic. Bartenders are usually very friendly (particularly love the tall blonde gal) but yeah. The food is above average bar food. Their grilled chicken wrap is wild. The chicken is perfectly chargrilled and delicious. Most buffalo cauliflower falls apart and gets soggy and I've never experienced that here. I live next door and it's my honest go to. Great new spot in OTE!! Need a cute place like this in the neighborhood. This will be my new go-to! Love that there is happy hour all day on Sundays so I can have a cold one and some wings for the game. I got the burger and it was delightful. Had a refire on my smoking barrels, but they were delicious! I went there the week they opened so they were most likely still figuring out the kinks. Will be back! CARABAR MEETS SURLY GIRL! Totally worth battling your way through the Parsons construction (plenty of parking on on Broad, a quick walk around block or 2) Having just moved to the area, we stumbled upon this little gem to catch a Blue Jackets game. Food is tasty, with a menu that instantly reminded me of the now defunct Surly Girl, only to find that the kitchen is made up of a large portion of their staff! Great beer selection, wine selection could use a bump but it's decent. I was also overjoyed to find out a brunch menu is on the way. Columbus, get to keeping this great joint open! read more

Tried Olde Oak for the first time last Saturday. The interior is bright and inviting. Had a very attentive waitress. Other members of my party said their food was very good, i.e. chicken wrap. The restaurant was not very full but wait time on the food was very long. None of the food came out at the same time. It seemed like they had only one person in the kitchen, but the bar was fully stocked with bartenders. My burger was overcooked and crunchy. One the whole, would not try this place again until they work out the bugs in their service. read more
