We went here on a Saturday morning around 9 am thinking it was going to be very busy but it was only a 10 minute wait. The place was packed and we weren't really sure who our server was because two different people came to take our food and drink order. I ordered the cake plate and it was huge! Went twice in one day! First time user, went there with my fiance while the cougars were sleeping. First of all the service is superb!! Everyone and I mean everyone is super helpful and friendly. Started with the French Press coffee. Excellent! I had a Danish Aebleskivers, potato pancake with an over-easy egg with hollandaise sauce, swedish crepe, & pancakes. My partner had eggs, bacon & hash browns. All delicious and we thought our eggs were the best ever. Came a few hours later with my kids. I ordered the borsch soup. Loved it and well definitely come back for more. My daughter had the goulash, yummm yummm! I just recently moved to Pullman for college and after a long 7 hour drive with my family we decided we'd eat at The Old European. Personally, I'm not a breakfast person so I only got pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream on top and and a sunrise (orange and cranberry juice) and it was amazing!!! Their pancakes are huge and fluffy filled with flavor and their maple syrup is delicious. Definitely the BEST pancakes I've had in my entire life, I cannot stop thinking about them. Lisa the manager is great! You always see her helping her crew. I've seen her run food, refill drinks, seat people and help cash people out. She's a true leader of her crew. All of the staff who have served my family are always polite and doubt check our order to make sure it's correct before leaving our table. A local said it was the best breakfast in town. When I met her there, it really was absolutely wonderful. My only regret is that I don't know when I can ever go back. I wish there was one of these near me!! I ordered the Hungarian Goulash with sausage gravy (made from scratch), and blueberry aebleskivers (round pan cakes with blueberries baked inside), and old country wheat toast, made on the premises, that came with a home made raspberry preserve. EVERYTHING was incredible. I also had a bite of the crepes ordered by my friend, and they were probably the best crepes I have every had. The service was fantastic, and they were very accommodating. Potatoe soup was blah and needed lots of salt and pepper. Tasted like the potatoe in it was mashed potatoe flakes. Sandwich was open faced and not able to be eaten without eating the ingredients first. Portuguese soup was good. My son's French Toast was overcooked but his eggs and sausage patties were good. My daughter and her boyfriend's breakfasts were ok (can't remember what they had). My wife liked her as well (a meat and cheese stuffed cooked pancake batter ball).
