Hard to classify this joint. The building is a bit dated, but they have it pretty comfy--in a hipster way--in there. I went for the diner aspect of it, and the gals went for the coolness. Decided to have lunch in Pullman while waiting for our dog who was at the veterinary hospital. Drove past the restaurant and the smoker outside lured us in. What a find! Great pulled pork sandwich, perfect sides the beans were delish. The Ruben was tasty too and the fries were super crispy! Looking forward to coming back to try the brisket. read more

We have been regularly eating here for years, but we're very disappointed at our last meal. We ordered our favorite, pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and beans. All were different and NOT in a good way. There was only half the amount of pork as all other times, but worse than that was that the pork was so wet and mushy, it kept slipping out of the bun and was not appealing or tasty. The beans were not their normal spicy/sweet with bacon serving, but were dry and tasted like they were some generic canned product. The coleslaw was like what you would get out of a bag and not roughly chopped like it has always been. We had good service and told our server when she came and checked on us. She said they have a couple new cooks and she would let someone know. Based on this meal, we won't be back to our favorite Pullman restaurant. read more

This was my first time here and I was extremely disappointed in the food and service. Food: my daughter got the Palouse fare and I had the ribeye. There was something wrong with her meal and instead of removing the charge in full because she wasn't able to eat it (sour and salty), they took $5 off. So I paid $13.50 for 1 egg and 1 partially eaten sausage link. Service: Service was okay. It wasn't stellar but it wasn't awful. Atmosphere: we were literally swatting flies our entire meal. Three, to be exact. It was so annoying to constantly be waving flies away while waiting and then trying to eat. After waiting a significant time for a table (which we expected), it was still about 20 minutes before our order was taken and then another 40 minutes before our food got there. Unfortunately the waffles were cold (butter didn't melt on it, our daughter said it was like a large (cold) toaster waffle), the English muffin barely toasted, and it was overall a disappointment. I got the chicken fried steak which came with half a slice of rye toast, hash browns, and eggs (sides were customizable, such as what kind of eggs and toast you want, which I appreciated). The gravy wasn't the best I ever had but not bad. My boyfriend got the Lazy Susan, which consisted of French toast and he chose 2 sausages and a poached egg. The poached egg came in a little condiment cup which we all found odd but I guess that was to prevent water getting everywhere. I didn't get a pic of this but my friend got the meat platter which came with beans and I think 3-4 different kinds of smoked meats. The brisket was delicious. Well we traveled to Pullman Wa. For the WSU Pow Wow and Sunday morning, we was super hungry and didn't want fast food. We are not familiar with the area and we were going to find coffee but ran into Zoe and this place is nice and cozy and the Staff was very friendly. I ordered the Sausage and Cheese Omelette, and it tasted super killer . The hasbrowns were nice and crunchy and the flavor was killer, and the coffee wasn't bad either. I added hot sauce to my dish and tastes even better, and nothing was over seasoned which places tend to do. I really wanted to leave a five star review. This café is super cute and comfy. The atmosphere is very friendly and casual. They've picked really good music to set the atmosphere, and it's not especially loud, so it's easy to hear and speak among friends without having to filter out noise. Unfortunately, we did have a few issues. When we first arrived, we were one of three tables with customers at them, so it was not crowded by any means. Our server came quickly and got us our house coffee and mocha, both very delicious. A few minutes later, we placed our order and waited. Three additional tables were seated near us, and as we saw their food arrive, we wondered what was going on with our own orders. At no point was my husband offered a refill on his bottomless coffee. Actually, once we first got our drinks, nobody came by the table again. As we saw orders go out to the tables mentioned above, we had to flag a different server down to ask about the status of our order and to bring another coffee for my husband. Within minutes of asking on the status of our order, our food was on the table. Our waitress told us that the kitchen misplaced our ticket and she had to ask them to make our food. We both ordered the stuffed croissants with hash browns. The flavor was good, but by this point it was hard not to be distracted by how long it took our food to come out and the fact that our hash browns had cold spots. As I write this review, we're waiting to pay our bill. Upon receiving the check, we were disappointed to discover that nothing had been done to make up for our poor experience here, not even comping my husband's black coffee. All three tables that were previously seated after us - the ones that had gotten their food before us (one of which included a toddler) - have all eaten, paid, and left... and three new tables have been seated in their places. We are still waiting to close out our bill. I used to wait tables, and I do understand that sometimes miscommunication happens between the kitchen and wait staff. Having said that, it is the server's responsibility to communicate any mishaps with customers. We weren't as upset about what happened in the kitchen as much as we were disappointed in the fact that our server seemed to take our order and forget about us, which makes the excuse that the kitchen misplaced our ticket difficult to believe. It feels a little more like our server forgot to enter our order. I really do like this place, and I hope to try it again next time we're in town. The mocha really was delicious, and it was served up in a large mug with a TON of whipped cream, which I loved! On the other hand, with the food not being hot and the service being negligent, I can't see leaving a better review. read more

The food is nostalgic for me it reminds me of my upbringing of trying new things and It makes me homesick not being able to eat here since I've moved away to Cali. The front staff always has a smile on their face and Gabby always goes the extra mile to provide the BEST service possible. And Mike, is one of the happiest people I've ever met with the warmest smile. If you are looking on yelp thinking "should I eat here", the answer is yes. Broke down and went out for breakfast this morning. This place has been located at several locations in town and has continued to thrive. I did enjoy my vegetable omelette. Chock full of veggies. The hash browns were a tad underdone but I personally like them very crisp so not a big issue. Service was very attentive. Unfortunately, the decor is showing a lot of wear and tear. The booth seating is looking very rough. That's really the only negative I can say. However, it will leave an impression so I hope they can upgrade soon read more
