The service here was absolutely terrible. My friends and I came here for a quick dinner on a Friday night. They were busy, but not BUSY, if you know what I mean. They weren't "dead", but not "slammed" either. So we're brought to our table, there are three of us. We proceed to sit there for... Close to thirty minutes. They brought us waters. Didn't take our drink order. Didn't take our food order. Eventually our server shows up. We order food. All simple things. Two of us only ordered fries. I kid you not, I did not see the server again. We waited another... 20-30 minutes for our food. Then, one of my friends and I had to LEAVE because we were going to see a show. My third friend offered to hang back to let someone know that we were leaving. Apparently they brought the food, realized that we had all left, and then... Offered to box the food up for us?!?! They even brought the check to my third friend. I was at the restaurant for over an hour, never got my food, and then they bring it, offer to box it up, and try to make my friend PAY for it?!? Absolutely positively ridiculous. It seems like a cool little bar, but I will not be back. read more

Rico's is a Pullman institution! Inside it has the feel of an Irish or English pub, very warm & welcoming. It has a couple of different levels & is one of the oldest locations for jazz in the state of Washington. We went for dinner & a couple drinks but ended up staying for a couple of hours to enjoy the live jazz & the fireplace. Service is pretty slow but it's a lovely place and the people are friendly. The food is hit or miss. I had an amazing fish and chips with a haddock tomahawk that could be carried into battle, I was delighted. Another in our party got the reuben and it dripped mayo and mustard, kind of off-putting. The beer selection isn't huge but they have quality beers and everyone enjoyed those greatly. read more

I've never been disappointed here. The waitstaff is attentive but not overwhelming. I've tried the various burgers, the French dip , as well as the Philly steak sandwich. All have been delicious. The fries were delicious. And we ordered a carrot cake to take back to our hotel. The food was great and out waitress was very attentive and sweet. This was a tough 2 star decision because the pub itself is really a fun place to get a drink. Ambience feels like a medieval public house. You expect mead to be on tap it's that authentic. The food was also delicious when it finally came out. The problem was there was so little staff that there was one server and he ended up also having to go cook in the back. There were two ladies working the bar and they tried to fill in gaps but on a busy Saturday night you can't run this place with 3-4 people on staff. They did their best but we waited almost 2 hours to get a couple sandwiches and some chicken strips. Drink refills were nonexistent unless you walked to the bar and flagged a lady down. All in all I would try this place again and if the next visit is more successful I would give it more stars. Based on this visit though it only earns 2 and that's because the servers were trying and the food was good in the end. read more

Rico's is a fun place to eat. They have typical pub food that is delicious and higher quality than the average pub. The atmosphere inside is like a cozy private library with a fireplace during colder months. They also have a quaint little outdoor patio during warmer months that is perfect for enjoying the sun and people watching. I brought my kid in for lunch and he found the section of "Kid books" and some toys, which meant our quick lunch stretched out into a long lunch. Stay far away from this terrible bar. They served us extremely sour and old beer, which the bartender did mention was from the bottom of the barrel, that made one of us throw up instantly after tasting it. When we told the bartender she did not say sorry or show any remorse. She just said okay and turned around. Disgusting customer service and beer. read more

Slow service, even during a relatively slow period (late Sunday evening). The atmosphere is relaxed and ambient, but the service not so great. The bartender seemed a bit distracted and impatient, I said I just wanted to try one drink and be on my way. She asked me for my credit card barely after I started my drink, (was ok but I tasted more filler than I did liqueur), but I would have produced cash for just a single drink, plus a tip after I finished. (I don't run up credit card charges for little things at places I rarely visit). She did say that was fine however, and I paid for the drink and left shortly thereafter. So the price I paid for the drink wasn't worth the time it took to get it, or the weird sort of hustling or apparent distrust for my money. This isn't a dive bar in the Bronx, after all. read more

Ok, this place is cool. The bartender was, well let's say " millennial". Ordered the Ruben and she asked if I wanted any dipping sauce. Thought this was odd, but answered Russian Dressing will be fine. Got a confused look. Then she said I don't think we have that. Is balsamic the same thing? So I have real pain for the generation we've raised. With that aside, and taking into account I'm in nowhere WA, not Katz deli in nyc, the Ruben was okay. Too much sauerkraut not enough corn beef. Good old Rico's. As an undergrad, I came here occasionally and always thought of it as a classy grad student bar. My family and I visited on a recent trip back to Pullman and I was so glad to see it hasn't changed a bit. Beautiful old woodwork, stained glass, and shelves upon shelves of old books. Minors are allowed until 8 pm and the food is pretty good. I was so glad I was able to revisit with my kids because I have such fond memories of coming here. read more

Ok- brisket sandwich was great- Irish breakfast had good corned beef and would be nice for a late night or hangover meal(greasy). But the eggs were black and looks like the grill needs cleaned. Calling the smashed tater tots red potatoes I was disappointing. They did taste good but they weren't reds. Almost no customers and almost 90 minutes for a simple two meal order sux. Nice place if you want to hang out and spend some time talking and drinking. Don't duck in thinking you can get a reasonable turn around time. read more

Got a delivery placed at 2:53pm and was very happy with my food. The delivery took about 40min to get here and I am very satisfied of how my foods were wrapped and neatly presented. Starting off with the burger, it wasn't medium rare, but I assumed it got cooked even more while it was getting delivered. The burger was nicely seasoned, but could use a bit more salt. Other components of the burger like the onions and tomato were fresh. The burger was nicely put together and the components go well with each other. Now with the fish tacos, I am satisfied with how it was cooked and the crust was just good. The slaw that came inside the taco was nicely seasoned and complemented the fish really well. Inside the fish, it was glistening nicely showing how well the fish was cooked. Overall, I like how it's cooked right on point (not over or undercooked). Even though nothing stood out to me, the food was pleasant and I would definitely get em again. read more

I like ricos but I had the worst experience this past week. Service was poor, my table was checked up max of 2 times, I had to ask multiple times for things that should not have been asked for. (such as drink refills, water, check, etc) I went for drinks and food and it took close to 2 hours to get food, was not asked if we wanted another drink. I had ordered a salad and a reuben, it took 10 mins after the ruben came out to get my salad. While there was an event going on I still feel this is unacceptable, if you are hosting an event weekly. read more

Was a bit disappointed in our experience. Our waitress was kind, but answered a few questions wrong about the drink menu which made us confused. Also, we always had to wait about 20 minutes to be checked up on. When we ordered drinks, they didn't come out for 45 minutes. Turns out they forgot to enter in our order. They gave us 25% off of our drinks but at that point, we didn't even want drinks because we were done eating and ready to leave. The food was not that great especially for the price. And the drink menu didn't have any prices on it at all, and it was all a guessing game. read more

Great little pub in Pullman, WA. I was dining alone and was given excellent service! My server was extremely attentive and super friendly. I ordered the nachos with pulled pork and took the server's recommendation of a spiced hot wine. It was all delicious. Oh Rico's, we have tried so many times...we decided to try the brunch. We got the "Irish breakfast" and the "veggie scramble". The Irish breakfast was dry corned beef lunch meat over broken up hash brown patties. It tasted old. The veggie omelet was just black olives, potatoes and a teaspoon of guacamole. They advertise "breakfast potatoes" but they are squashed tater tots. The service was decent. We waited 38 minutes for breakfast with three tables in the place. They charge a 3% fee to use a card and the atm was broken. We tried however it was awful. read more

This is my favorite bar in Pullman. It's a must see for both travelers and locals alike. The cocktails are innovative yet classic and always taste incredible. The staff is kind and accommodating; they work hard to ensure that every guest feels welcome and appreciated. The food is some of the best in Pullman. My personal favorites are the brisket sandwich and the fish and chips; the only time I've had any comparable fried fish was in Scotland. Truly an unmatched ambiance with such a classic, yet refined and rustic atmosphere all at the same time. It's no surprise that this place has stood the test of time. read more

I used to hang out at Rico's WAY too much in my 20's. I decided to try it out again with my wife and son. It was fantastic. It's very clean and still has that "sitting in your study" feel. No, I don't have a "study", but I wish I did! They've also hired a chef and it shows. I had a simple BLT with some of their own Turkey. Bun was toasted, bacon was wide slices and you could taste the over toast in the Turkey. I will definitely be back for more! read more

I was a patron and worked at Rico's back in the 70's. That was when Tony Talarico owned the tavern. He was closed on Sundays,and opened for business 6 days a week @ 8:00 am till 2:00am. Times have changed obviously and for the better. Opportunity to improve the tavern came in 1977 when the interior was completely gutted by fire. Now it is really a great looking place from the pics I have seen. Congratulations to the new owners. read more

Food and drinks were good, staff was slammed but warned us of a possible longer wait time than usual, which I appreciated. This place is a local institution for a good reason.
