First off we went in at Noon, well before they closed, because we are civilized people, and I read the menu before I went into the OK Diner, not because I have a diet restriction but I wanted to know what kind of food I would be expecting. Now for the full review. We had six people with us and everyone was very accommodating and gracious. The waitress was a delight, very cheerful and courteous. We can be a rambunctious group and she was very inviting and an absolute pleasure. The place in set inside the airport which makes it very unique. It is a nice little spot and cozy. If you have ever wanted to sit down to nice diner style food and enjoy the views of small aircraft taxing by, then this is the place. It was quite busy but still pretty quiet, which is a bonus in my book. we could sit there and have a very nice conversation while eating. The food was all really good. We started with an order of biscuits for the table and they were amazing. The came with sausage gravy and honey butter on the side. Both options were really good. I have the onion burger and hash puppies(spelled correctly) . My burger was really good. It comes with pickles mad in house and they Made the burger. I dont usually rave about pickles but these were that good. My table also ordered the breakfast burrito, frito pie, green Chile stew, BLT, and a Chicken wrap. And everyone enjoyed their food. Thought I would try the OK Diner at the Westheimer Airport at the University of Oklahoma on this Saturday around noon today. The parking lot was full at the airport terminal building where the Diner is located. The restaurant was full so I left my name for a table for one to open up. Five minutes later I was seated by the front door facing the airport ramp area. Since I'm a diabetic my options are limited to protein and veggies. Most everything on the menu is loaded with carbohydrates, sugar and fructose. So I decided to order ala carte with 4 soft scrambled eggs and sliced avocado. The waitress was great and in a hurry. Ok then, four soft scrambled eggs entered into her smart phone ordering system. With sliced avocado. I repeated my desire for scrambled eggs cooked in real butter if possible. If they are overcooked I'll send them back" She was kind to say, yes of course. Ten minutes later my order arrived and the eggs were not soft scrambled whatsoever. I tasted them and they were scrambled medium. I could taste the butter so that part got done correctly. Shortly thereafter, I'm guessing the manager came over to my table and asked how my breakfast was? I explained I didn't get what I had ordered. I ordered soft scrambled eggs and didn't get them that way. The manager then proceeded to explain to me that they were really busy and this is the way the eggs came out today. And then I asked if he had any olive oil (for my avocados), He did !!! After my oil arrived the manager said " enjoy your meal" And then a few minutes later my waitress came by to ask he how my meal was ? I told her the avocado was delicious but the eggs were not soft scrambled as I had ordered. I didn't eat the eggs. She said I'm so sorry. And walked away. And then a minute later the manager walked over for a third time and said breakfast was on us today !!! So instead of making my meal right, he chose to comp my meal for a meal I did not order or eat. What a frivolous way to run a cafe. After being in the food industry in a former life, I always made it right with my customers. NO MATTER WHAT. Saturday brunch wasn't too busy - we were easily able to sit down right as we walked in. (Though I'm sure this may change as it becomes more well known). Clean, organized, and friendly atmosphere. Our server was incredibly kind and helpful with menu suggestions. They have a couple booths and then tables by the windows so you can watch the planes. It has a quaint dinner feel. The food came out fresh and obviously homemade. We had the pupusa and eggs and Frito chili pie. I was excited to grab a bite to eat at an Oklahoma airport diner because these places are mostly incredible and fun. Unfortunately, even though they advertise closing at 2pm, I walked in at 1:51pm and they told me they were closed. The quote from the waitress was something like "everyone is totally bugged out". I thought it was lazy and a bad employee. I'm glad this is not my business - my investment - just to have a half interested group of employees shut down early when they say they are done - forget that actual posted closing time. This place is absolute top tier. My wife and I came in for breakfast this morning and everything was outstanding. The biscuits and gravy were clearly homemade and unbelievably good--comfort food done right. Every single thing we ordered was cooked perfectly. What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were having breakfast with family--warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I've been to 0K diner a few times for lunch and we've been several times for breakfast. My wife and I went for Valentine's Day 2026 expecting the same great food and service we have received in the past. On this morning they were busy as usual, which we expected. We got to our table and was greeted right away by a very polite young man who brought us our drinks, the customer service went down hill from there when our waitress showed up, a young brunette with bad acne and a very very bad attitude. I know everyone has a bad day but when you are in a customer service related position relying on tips you might consider how you are received, especially your condescending, sourpuss facial expression. Friendly staff, clean & bright, and very comfortable seating. I had the basic breakfast with over medium eggs, bacon, hash puppies (hash browns prepared similarly to hush puppies), and a biscuit (tried with both butter & with the sausage gravy). Eggs cooked perfectly, bacon was done while still being chewy, hash puppies were good but I'm a bit ambivalent if I will order again, and the biscuit was more chewy than flaky as well as being sweeter than most. The biscuit tasted incredible with the gravy, and was okay with the butter - the butter was unsalted and had honey, so next time I'll ask for regular butter which they have on request. I'll definitely have this again. My husband had the pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries and blueberry pancakes. I tried the home fries and sausage and liked them both. Husband said the blueberry pancakes were good but a bit sweeter than he preferred (possibly due to the honey butter?), and the eggs were good as well. He drank coffee & said it was good, and the water was exactly as it should be. We will be back! read more
