But this is Indian food as far as I am concerned. This restaurant has a weekend buffet with nice choices for under $20. All cooked fresh. The only difference is they didn't layout tandoori chicken like other Indian lunch buffets I have been too. Still each dish was delicious with different type of veggies and meats and curries. I originally intended to go to King Dunpling but I walked in to see what they offered and I was hooked. Both restaurants are in the same plaza.

It has a clean and bright dining room that seats at least 50 with a few odd pieces for decor (umbrellas and a spinning disco ball). The restaurant is advertised as Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani. But the cuisine is just what we wanted. There was no lunch menu. So we ordered from the regular offerings. I wanted goat kadhai curry but since there was none listed, I settled for chicken kadhai curry. My cousin-in-law ordered chicken tikka masala. You have a choice of either rice or naan with your meal. We both had rice and got a side order of naan. We ordered mild because of my past experience with the food here being very peppery. We probably could have gone up a level, but the mild was flavorful and had a decent amount of spiciness. Both meals were good and boasted tender and well-seasoned chicken. I thought the kadhai was a bit oily, but it was still tasty. We loved the naan, especially dipped in the tamarind chutney that I requested. During the two hours that we dined, we were the only ones in the restaurant, so service was quick and attentive. Our meal was about $22 each including tax and tip. I hope to go back and try a few other dishes.

Mutter paneer gravy was were smooth & creamy , naan was perfect amount crunchy and soft and stuffing of momo was very royal (it wasn't just veggies but it seemed they had added panner too, which I think made it royal) Service - it was exceptional too. That was very heartwarming Ambiance - clean, nice contemporary, fun

Apparently this has been there for over a year but I've never heard or seen this place despite being in the plaza several times in the year. I was looking for something different or new. While searching Indian, this came up and the Himalayan aspect peaked my interest. Particularly the momo dumplings being something I've never seen before sold me on this spot. The space is small but spacious, clean and bright. The hostess/waitress was nice and helpful when I asked for recommendations. We ordered the HIMALAYAN THALI SET( FOR TWO) which came with an appetizer, 4 entrées, 2 desserts, naan of your choice and rice. We were told it would take a while to come out because it all comes out at once. We said it was fine and ordered some steamed chicken momo to hold us over till the food came. Our chili paneer app from our set came out and it was quite tasty with a good spice/flavor. Maybe 10ish minutes later our thali set came out. We went with our waitress rec for one veggie (aloo gobi), one chicken (karahi), one lamb (korma), and one seafood (shrimp tikki masala). It came with one bowl of rice for 4 bowls of food. We chose the garlic naan but they had many different more creative options to choose from. The naan was good but not great. The aloo gobi was tasty as was the shrimp tikki masala. The lamb korma sauce was delish but the lamb pieces were a little hit or miss with some tender but others a little harder or dry. Maybe another 10 minutes after our main dishes arrived, the steamed momo arrived. It was tasty and very layered with different flavors that I couldn't quite pinpoint. For dessert we got the kheer and mango kulfi which were unique. Without having a reference point for what a regular entree size is, it's kind of hard to say the cost value in the thali set for two, but if it's your first time and you want to try a a few things, it's probably worth it. I will be back to try the lunch specials next time.

TLDR: Don't go here if you're Indian. Don't go here if you like Indian food the way it's made in…read moreIndia or in the home kitchens of Indian-American families. You won't find it here. Golden Chariot serves hyper sweet, hyper-Americanized "Indian" food. Some of it was not awful. - Samosa chaat -- made with overly sweet chutneys from a jar / can. It's hard to totally write off the combination of crisp sev, yogurt, samosa, and chickpeas, but versions we like better include more cucumber, tomato, and cilantro, less corn syrup. - Aloo gobi -- This version had a good balance of cauliflower and potato, cooked to the right consistency and made in a saucier style. If it hadn't been so sweet, it would've been good. - Fish tikka masala / Goan fish curry -- the fish component was fresh, moist and substantial. It's a shame to drown good ingredients in those hyper-sweet, corn syrupy sauces, which were clearly not scratch made, and oddly similar. The supposedly Goan fish curry was mostly only distinguished by a touch of coconut milk. It included no tamarind or other sour component that I could detect. - Tandoori chicken was moist, cooked to a good temperature, mildly flavored for the gringo palate, and dyed bright red. I know plenty of places use red food dye, but we strongly prefer ours without. Decor is attractive, there's a pleasant outdoor dining area, and staff are helpful enough. Just don't go expecting authentic Indian!

This was my pick for Flavors of India and this place did not disappoint on all accounts. The grand oversized chandelier is a beauty. And all the Buddha statues and bust were pleasing. It was also spacious with comfortable booth seating. We were served Papadam with red and green chutney. The Papadam was light and satisfyingly crunchy. For the appetizer, we shared the Chilli Chicken, which were crispy bite size pieces, mixed with bell peppers, tossed in a sweet chili sauce with a slight kick. The Chicken was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. I ordered the Lamb Biryani and Garlic Naan. The Naan was not garlicky enough for me, but the Biryani made up for it, consisting of fragrant Indian rice, plenty of spices, nuts and raisins, making for a truly flavorful dish. The Lamb was tender and deeply savory. Also got to try the Vegetable Korma, which was full of fresh and tasty vegetables. The Korma sauce was delightfully creamy and delicious. Service was wonderful. Our waiter was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. All the food came out in a timely manner and we had a lovely time dining here. I wish I had tried the Mango Lassi and Fish or Shrimp Goan Curry.

Pairing everything with a Taj beer was the perfect touch! A huge shoutout to our server, Ram, who truly made the evening unforgettable with his attentiveness and great recommendations. Moksha Indian Restaurant delivered the kind of Valentine's dinner you remember…read more This place is not an afterthought. It's grounded in the traditional flavors that make Indian food feel authentic, but it's presented with intention, from the bar to the plate. (You can tell the kitchen cares.) We started with cocktails plus a Taj Mahal beer and a lychee martini. The martini had a subtle Indian touch, lightly floral and not overly sweet. A strong start. Naturally, we ordered the samosas. Perfectly crisp, with a well-balanced spice blend inside. Do not skip the mint and tamarind dipping sauces. They bring the whole bite to life. For mains, my wife went with the Goan shrimp. Not too spicy, with a gentle hint of coconut that keeps it smooth and satisfying. I had the Valentine's lamb shank special, bone-in and slow-cooked in a tomato-forward sauce that smelled like pure Indian spice the second it hit the table. Rich, warm, and worth ordering if you see it. Get the basmati rice and garlic naan. Both are more than enough to share. If you're in town and the usual spots aren't doing it for you, put Moksha on the list. Great meal, great price, and the kind of dinner that feels like a real night out.
