Made it to Ushio for my first visit. It was happy hour so I tried two rolls: JB and fire dragon. Both rolls were fine. It was 20% off all rolls for HH which brought it to a more competitive price. They gave plenty of ginger/gari which was great. I wish there were more specialty rolls with salmon as primary but there was just the one. Also, a regular salmon roll was not on the menu which I found odd since tuna roll was there. I decided to finish my meal with one of my favorites: hotate/scallop. The nigiri is listed as 2pc and sashimi as 3pc. I went sashimi since I was relatively full. It was basically one a scallop cut into thirds. Misleading for sure but I expected something like this. What I did not expect was that the scallop was lightly seared. It gave the scallop like a char aroma. While it wasn't bad, it was not what I wanted. Now I know scallops here are a no go for me. Service was good. It was not very busy when I was there. I would come back for HH and to try some of their cocktails. Not enough value for me otherwise.

Tuesday night dad, daughter, dinner. They don't happen as often as theybused to, this is her favorite local sushi spot. Good taste must run in the fam! Local vibes in all the good ways. We're always greeted with a friendly face, and you never notice a difference in service between all of the staff that assists during our meals. Like most visits, I opt for my own nigiri and hand roll selections, based on my mood and cravings. This time, it was salmon & ikura nigiri, eel/cucumber/avocado & salmon skin handrails, scallop sashimi, with a miso soup starter. My daughter had a jb roll, tuna yuke, and a miso soup as well. The tuna yuke has their own sauce and unique spin we both enjoy. Nothing fancy about any of the items, which is exactly what we look for from our local sushi go to. Knowing what to expect and delivering consistency from a sushi/sashimi spot is important. Sometimes you want comfort food instead of fusion or suprise creations. That's what you'll get here. Although they do offer many unique rolls and Japanese cuisine creations of that's your flavor when you visit. The scallop was perfectly fresh, salmon skin crispy, along with the nori cones on both handrolls. The ikura nigiri was sweet and salty, cured perfectly, without a touch of soy needed. I washed it all down with a couple of Kirin Lights, served in an icy cold mug. Everything executed the same way it was every prior visit. If you're not from the area, check it out, if you are, maybe give it a shot to be one of your regular sushi spots.

We have lost count of how many times we've come to have sushi here. One of the best sushi spots we have discovered so far. Especially if you are a fan of sashimi and Nigiri. The fish is always very fresh! The cuts are decently sized, and the price for the platter is unbeatable (60$). They rotate the fish often so you get to try different variety. The place is cozy. And the service is always on point and pretty fast. We've been attended by every server there in are always very happy with our service. Must try!

Best ramen and Pad Thai in town! This place was recommended by my family and boy it was great! I'm a huge fan of pad Thai and this one I had here was delicious. Perfect lil cooked, flavor was on point and it had a lot of chicken. Just writing about this is making my mouth water. The ramen was even better, broth was so flavorful and the pork belly was delicious. The waitress was super nice and the owner came by to see how everything was. They even provided our table with cotton candy after the bill as a dessert. Everything was delicious and it exceeded our expectations when it comes with ramen and sushi. We also did order sushi rolls which was good too but our favorite was the ramen and pad Thai hands down.

I was in the area and had wanted to grab a wick bite so, I opted for Ushio Suchi, and everything I ordered was spot on. I'd gotten the crab Rangoon appetizer, along with the Snow White special roll, and spicy salmon roll, all were equally delicious. The restaurant was not busy at all when I popped in. There was soft music playing in the back and dim lighting, very calm setting. I went over to the take-out counter and placed my order and was told it would take 15-20min Pricing was a bit on the higher side, it was close to $40 just for the 3 items. However, what I ordered tased wonderful. The rangoons were packed with a very flavorful mixture of crab and different seasonings, it was not just the typical take out style that would just be filled with a cream cheese and bits of imitation crab, this had green onions, some shreds of carrots and lots more, it was my favorite item I ordered. As for 2 rolls: both were great, my more favorite of the two was the Snow White. I would probably dine in next time and try some of their other items, once I do I'll have an updated review.

This place used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in Davie. I ordered a house salad and a spicy tuna roll for takeout, but was unpleasantly greeted by a huge black hair in my salad. I could not finish my meal, and I will not be returning here. The restaurant was kind and voided the charge. But I am very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness this place has.

Probably one of the freshest fish on the Broward area! I love the king salmon and yellowtail. Recently ordered a combo which came with a fish I haven't previously tried- Wahoo, which I didn't love. The hamachi Kama also soo good. I prefer it with the ponzu sauce instead of the teriyaki - like sauce that it's served with. But otherwise have only had good experiences here.

We went on a Friday night around 7. The aesthetic is simple , the establishment has photos around the restaurant and elevator like music in the background . It was pretty empty when we arrived. As a result the service was very attentive due to not being busy. They immediately served us water and the condiments for sushi. My date and I both ordered the Yuzu drop. It was good but surprisingly thick which is because of the cloudy saki. I personal was not a huge fan. I wouldn't get it again. Nothing against the drink, just not my particular preference for a drink. I would have gotten the lycheetini but they said they did not have it that particular day. We got the jalapeño hamachi and mix tempura for apps. They were good but they were also very simple dishes to begin with. The mix tempura only had two small pieces of shrimp. I felt they could have given either bigger pieces or at least one more. For sushi we did the spicy salmon roll and red dragon. The sushi was very bland. For such basic rolls, I would have expected more flavor and just an overall fresher taste. Although the rice ratio was good, there was more fish to rice ratio, the overall quality was average. I would not go to this place again and probably wouldn't order takeout either. Just better options in the area. However, for a quick, attentive dinner- it may be a good option for other people.

Lunch Special Poke Bowls where you can choose up to 5 items for your bowl for $12.95 is not only a steal but a fulfilling, light, on-the-healthier side, great idea. Love me a sushi date at Ushio. There's new decor. And OPEN ALL DAY (confirmed this March of 2025). They no longer close for lunch. I'm so glad I tried something new at my favorite local sushi spot.

This will be my new go to sushi spot. I was greeted promptly as I walked in and the service is fast and friendly. I went one night for dinner and was back the next day for lunch. I asked my waitress for a recommendation and she was very knowledgeable. The place can be nice for a date night or just to hang with friends or family. Not suspect fancy but enough to dress up a little bit for. The night I went I ordered the Davie roll and the tonkotsu ramen spicy which were both delicious. So much so that I took a bowl of ramen to go for my mom and the rest of my sushi for my daughter. My daughter loved it so much that she asked to return again the next day for lunch, so we did. They have really nice and affordable lunch specials as well as happy hour specials. The food is also really affordable so we will be back !!!

Ask the Community - Ushio Sushi

Is the conveyor belt back for sushi?

Oh no! Did Ushio close since covid19?!!

I just called and placed an order for pickup! Woohoo!!!!

How do they charge for the conveyor belt sushi? Is it price per plate or do you order and the food you order comes to you?

Each plate has a color, the color of the plate determines the price. You can also order food from the waitstaff and they will bring that to your table.

    Is this restaurant kid friendly?

    Yes, it is.

We used to have a really great pho place near us, but they have been closed for a few years now and we have been missing having some great pho, and I am so glad we came here! YUM! Something to keep in mind, they have very little parking in front of the restaurant, so you'll have to park in the garage behind it. It will look like it's reserved parking only, but it reads on the sign that floors 1 & 2 are for business parking. The restaurant itself was SO cute! They had a few cute neon signs throughout, nice decor - totally Instagram worthy! We set at the bar and was greeted by Lisa right away! She asked if it was our first time (which it was) and she helped us navigate the menu and gave some suggestions! It was happy hour while we were there (I love a good daily happy hour!) so we got some beers and some appetizers from the happy hour menu. We got the calamari and spring rolls! Spring rolls are a MUST with pho - and they were really good! The calamari was good as well - loved the sauce that it came with! For our pho, I ordered the American Wagyu Pho with Traditional Noodles. My husband order the same, but with the spicy broth and the flat noodles. I really enjoyed this pho!!! It felt like forever since the last time I had such good pho. We stayed for a few more beers on happy hour cause the vibes and music was really great! Lisa found me the name of the Spotify playlist too, which was awesome. The eatery was buzzing on a Saturday evening with its modernly decorated dining room constantly filling up. Seating about 80, it also sports a sushi bar. Our server, Jensen, provided great service and excellent suggestions. I had an otoro version of a margarita. It came with sugar on the rim. Not to my liking. We ordered the coconut rock shrimp appetizer that came with large, meaty shrimp and a great dipping sauce. But the shrimp had no flavor and was very bland. We also had the tuna crispy rice. The presentation was lovely. But the appetizer was underwhelming. For dinner we had the cucumber skin roll with tuna, salmon, and a avocado. Again, a beautiful presentation with tuna that melted in your mouth. But again, not impressive. The standout was the curry udon with chicken katsu; thick, meaty udon noodles; and a delectable curry sauce so good I slurped up each drop. Of course we had to try the pandan creme brulee and the ube flan. The latter being the better of the two desserts. Dinner for two with 1 alcoholic drink, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, tax, and tip was $128.

Located off Stirling Road (accessible from both directions), Hong's BBQ sits amongst the various shops that make up the Stirling Place Plaza. If you're here based off your search for food around the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Hollywood, you've got the same idea as us and this review is for you; Hong's is essentially "around the corner" from the casino and a great option if you want to venture off the resort for some great food. Recommended by a source for reliable eats, we decided to give Hong's BBQ a go before our trip back to Tampa. We found that Hong's BBQ has some great authentic Canto-style Chinese cuisine. Not big by any means (you can't necessarily host a large banquet style gathering here), there is definitely ample seating - mainly suited for parties of 4. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no issues being seated - although the restaurant maintained a steady flow of customers in and out of the restaurant. There are a few larger round tables scatter throughout with the typical lazy-susan setup in the center that may accommodate larger parties of 6-8. If you're not interested in dining-in, there is definitely a "butcher's" station/display that is set up toward the back of the dining section. The setup within the restaurant definitely brought back nostalgic memories of Chinatown restaurants and their racks of char-siu, roast duck, pig, and soy chicken hanging under the heating lamps. From here, you can order cuts of the aforementioned meats by weight without the "extras." The menu offered a great variety of Canto-style cuisine; I would argue that it's hard to go wrong with a choice based on their selections they have available. We ordered two noodle soups (roast duck and char siu), along with an order of the beef chow fun, which were all outstanding. Beginning with the noodle soups, you have 3 different noodle options; I opted for the flat rice noodles which I instantly craved upon identifying it as a choice. The noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection that had a good amount of "bounce" while easy to chew. The broth was also on a whole other level that warrants praise in itself. The beef chow fun is also a must - yes, I recognize that this may be considered a "basic" choice, but Hong's BBQ makes this the right way. The service wasn't poor - let's just say that it falls in line with the coveted 3-star Asian restaurant rating (If you know, you know). The servers knew how and when to deliver. All in all, Hong's BBQ is a great place to dine with your family. I would recommend this to anyone in or travelling to this area.

Nevertheless, we ordered pan-fried dumplings, the three meat combo plate with roast duck, BBQ roast pork, and crispy pork. We also got a seafood platter with salt and pepper shrimp, squid, and scallops. The latter didn't have much taste. We couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. The dish came on a bed of shredded raw cabbage. There was no rice. When I asked, the server (a different one from the woman who took our order) brought us a small bowl. They had forgotten to put the rice on the plate. (The dish is advertised as being served on a bed of rice.) The meat platter was decent. Although the duck skin needed to be crispier, the pork skin was very crispy. The BBQ roast pork was tasty, boasting a nice char siu flavor. The few strands of Chinese broccoli that was served with the dish was cold, as if it was added from the refrigerator. We enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings. They seemed to be homemade. One appetizer, two entrees, tax, and tip was $66.
